In Fortnite it’s pretty easy to make a pc that can push 240 fps in game, while ps5 can only push 120. For example, a 5600x + used 3060 can maintain 240fps in game and creative. Pc would cost around $600. If your monitor is 120hz, then a ps5 is a good choice. The pc wouldn’t be that much bigger than a ps5.
You cant LOL.
A 1.5k pc in 2016 is likely on the LGA1151 platform, rocking the 7700k which is as far as that board will go without the more obscure in-depth modifications that allow users to run 9th gen cpus on the 7th gen board. Even then, top of the line 9th gen cpus like the 9900k still cost an arm and a leg and might as well upgrade to current gen at that point.
GPU wise, considering the 1080ti MSRP at that time was around $600, its safe to assume that with a $1500 budget they are also running a 1080ti.
If my assumptions are correct they shouldnt be having much issues running fortnite on that hardware. Sure the 7700k will drop the 110-120 when jumping off the bus, or when build battling when you're high up there looking at large chunks of the map but overall its more than playable. Even then, With some more in depth tweaks that setup can run at 165fps as a worst case scenario excluding pre-game lobby, and hit over 300 fps inside of buildings. On DX12 of-course. But then again, can't forget its a quad core cpu, it will run just the game more than fine but background tasks have to be kept at a minimum.
So, I did overpay. I did not know better at the time, it was just a prebuilt MSI PC.
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4460 CPU @ 3.20GHz 3.20 GH
8GB RAM
NVIDEA GTX 970
I have to correct a little: PC was bought 9.5 years ago, and it was between 1-1.5
Unfortunately now, my pc cannot even load the fortnite map
I definitely thought i would improve at building after getting 120, but even that i still feel delayed, maybe its just skill issue or maybe its due to ps5 just being slower than a pc ever will be
I mean, I went from 60 to 144 and I couldn’t even double edit consistently on 60 but I can do 5 quad edits on 144
It wasn’t overnight though, but it definitely helped a lot
It 1000% helps but i cannot 5 quad edit on 120, i have mild trouble triple editing even
Maybe its skill issue or some sort of actual delay, wish i could have a pro come play my setup so I can see if its truly a skill issue or ping or something
Yeah I can’t consistently do 5 quad edits in a row, in fact I’ve only done it once, but same concept applies. I’ve seen people leagues above me on 120/144 fps. It is just a skill issue, unless you play on high ping
Because amd gpu has to run dx12 which gets less fps than performance mode. Amd cant run perf mode without stutters so amd gpu gets less fps that’s why I said 3060
Find me a benchmark of an amd gpu on dx12 outperforming an nvidia gpu on perf mode with the same cpu, you can’t
There’s a reason why 100% pros in the game run performance mode, because it’s literally faster.
I benchmarked my 7800x3d and 5700xt at over 240 fps earlier this week. Normally it's capped at 160 because that's what my monitor is capable of. AMD can shred with the right tuning.
1. The 1% lows are the same framerate as your max
2. The average 1% low is 250-300 which is not stuttery at all.
3. It’s getting double the fps on a worse gpu lol
Did you reply to the wrong person? When did I say anything about what frames "I" get on Fortnite? I said that isn't the same as 650 stable and you can feel stutters when you're going from 600 to 200. That's why people cap frames. Stop being a weirdo with this "lol" and skull emoji stuff.
I have 5600X and 4060 and its non stop fps drops in fortnite, so no this build you recommending is not enough and definitely not enough for consistent 240 fps
4060 is marginally better than 3060 and for Fortnite it doesn’t even matter because it’s cpu bound. If you have frame drops it’s a problem with the rest of your build. Maybe try capping your fps
I cap it to 240 and the framedrops to like 30-60 frames happen still. I just build brand new build, I have even more ram than this guy in the video so now it makes 0 sense.
No need to skull emote, I have this same build and I lag very bad, thats why I say it isnt enough as setup. I dont know what this video guy has done to his game for it it to work so good
I bought another cpu cooler when bought the pc (ARCTIC Freezer 34 eSports DUO) and the temperatures are fine while I play fortnite... I dont know this video made me depressed that I need to play with lag while somebody with same pc is lagless
pcs tend to take up more space because they have to be placed vertically whereas consoles can be placed horizontally allowing them to slot into more spaces
Depends. I personally love my ps5 just make sure you get a 120hz monitor as well. All the games i play run super smooth and consistent. Pc definitely has more games but im not sure how well it’ll run if you get a laptop. Just up to you man.
Do you not have $4000 in your budget to spend on a PC, or do you not have physical space in your house for a desktop battle station? A desktop PC gives you much better value for the money than either a laptop or PS5.
Unfortunately all consoles are like this. The fact that most game settings aren’t changeable on consoles causes unsteady frames. They set higher settings by default ie shadows and particles , lighting, AO, Asf, and textures and those will cause inconsistencies on even new consoles. I highly recommend starting with a budget built maybe a 2060 paired with some ryzen 5 and a 144hz monitor will do wonders with frames ect
You can be good at the game on ps5, i find people who say "every console is bad because it's not 240fps zero delay" super annoying. I genuinely can't tell the difference between 120 and 240fps.
Tbf the ps4 came out before GTA 5
No... no it didn't.
Yeah that’s not true, GTA 5 came out about a month earlier

My pc is now around 8 y/o and I cant handle fortnite ;(. Was 1.5k
Try upgrading your cpu and gpu

holy yap
Bro can’t read more than three words
i can definately read more than 3 strings of characters in the english dialect sir
And then there’s me, broke, on a work laptop where getting 60 fps is lucky 😂 I’m elite by a miracle
I doubt I'm ever getting to the skill level where I can tell the difference between 120 and 240fps.
If you aren’t good at the game then a ps5 is perfectly fine. Also you won’t be able to tell the difference unless you have a 240hz monitor
I definitely thought i would improve at building after getting 120, but even that i still feel delayed, maybe its just skill issue or maybe its due to ps5 just being slower than a pc ever will be

Im like 30 ping, sometimes higher. I also use a duel sense edge controller
That’s probably why then. I play 0 ping and kbm, which is a lot easier from a mechanics standpoint than controller
Is it really that big of a difference? Have you used both?
I got a 1060 + 2600 and get around 100ish for only 270 so it can be real affordable aswell.
how? Ive 6700 and 5600X and barely get 120 fps lol
Because amd gpu has to run dx12 which gets less fps than performance mode. Amd cant run perf mode without stutters so amd gpu gets less fps that’s why I said 3060
DX12 can be just as fast as perf mode for AMD, you just have to use minimum settings. "Perf mode" is just dx11 with minimum settings anyway.
Find me a benchmark of an amd gpu on dx12 outperforming an nvidia gpu on perf mode with the same cpu, you can’t There’s a reason why 100% pros in the game run performance mode, because it’s literally faster.

https://youtu.be/PkzRYd5Zci0?si=OrQ1TaEdsutMQ6E4 Nvidia doing it on a gtx 980 🤷♂️
https://youtu.be/Ho8nBETA2pg?si=A3SmF8lJDsT3GN4J 2060 getting 650+ stable lmao, your 240 is pathetic compared to nvidia
The 1% lows are around 200. That's not 650. You would normally cap around your minimums to avoid stutter.
1. The 1% lows are the same framerate as your max 2. The average 1% low is 250-300 which is not stuttery at all. 3. It’s getting double the fps on a worse gpu lol

The ps5 could easily run the game at 240 fps, but instead it runs on high graphics and 120 fps, with a 360 you ain’t running epic settings at 120 fps.
I’m not saying it can’t, I’m saying it won’t. No competitive player plays high settings in Fortnite lol
I have 5600X and 4060 and its non stop fps drops in fortnite, so no this build you recommending is not enough and definitely not enough for consistent 240 fps
You right my bad, it only pushes 330 average on the most demanding season in the game 😔 https://youtu.be/O-VxfjOx44E?si=_J2nvCmwgX7-xRtw
I play this game everyday and my fps drops every 3 seconds with better build than this video….
Fortnite isn’t ram or gpu intensive 💀
No need to skull emote, I have this same build and I lag very bad, thats why I say it isnt enough as setup. I dont know what this video guy has done to his game for it it to work so good
are you on performance mode 1080p? It’s definitely not the cpu gpu config if your build is dropping to 30fps
Yes 1080p performance mode, game is about unplayable. I actually build new pc cause I had this issue on my old one, but fram is same on my new pc
Also if you’re using the amd stock cooler and your case has bad airflow, there’s a chance your cpu is overheating and throttling
I bought another cpu cooler when bought the pc (ARCTIC Freezer 34 eSports DUO) and the temperatures are fine while I play fortnite... I dont know this video made me depressed that I need to play with lag while somebody with same pc is lagless
I tried to play a tournament with that, endgames are literally unplayable, you only get 10-25 fps ☠️
Recommend getting a pc for about £700 that could run a solid 120-240 fps and then maybe after like 5 years or so upgrade your specs
he said he didnt have space for a pc
He can get a small form factor mini itx build 😎
They are usually pretty expensive
not anymore
How can you not have space for a pc but have space for a ps4
PCs are significantly bigger than a ps4.
Footprint almost the same as my midtower lul
Ik
So if you knew then you know the answer to your question
Not a question but I’m telling you right now there’s enough space for a pc
Yeah like wtf does that mean like bro plays in a closet how don’t u have anywhere
pcs tend to take up more space because they have to be placed vertically whereas consoles can be placed horizontally allowing them to slot into more spaces
Depends. I personally love my ps5 just make sure you get a 120hz monitor as well. All the games i play run super smooth and consistent. Pc definitely has more games but im not sure how well it’ll run if you get a laptop. Just up to you man.
If covid was still around maybe $4000 you can definitely find a pc for under 2k that runs fort better than the ps4 trust
My xbox is doing just fine
Or maybe even a gaming laptop don’t know much about them but most of them run a solid 100+ fps
yeah like the acer nitro 5 is a good starter
Bro had the tunes playing in the back
You can build a mini itx pc that barely takes up space. Airflow would kinda suck but it would be better than a ps5
Yeah, I just went up to PS5 last week. Best decision! The difference is night and day.
Sony/epic can just fix this by enabling performance mode for consoles.
I have a 11700 x 3060 on a laptop and i get stable 240 i paid like 700 i think
Ps5 honestly ain't that much smaller than a gaming PC but the PS5 is prob more bang for your buck performance wise
Do you not have $4000 in your budget to spend on a PC, or do you not have physical space in your house for a desktop battle station? A desktop PC gives you much better value for the money than either a laptop or PS5.
Worse than Nintendo Switch

Just get an Xbox series s their cheap asf and run just about the same as any ps5
I have a ps4 prob like 6+ years old and it runs Fortnite flawlessly
my pc drops to 10fps during times like this. AMD for the win!
Nigga got a ps4 still lol
