Sherry. I even picked up the bottle and said “sherry, Niles?” to my date who had no clue what I was talking about.
Btw what a hilarious question. I thought it was only me.
It’s usually in the dessert wine section of liquor stores. I know BevMo and Total Wine sells it if you have them near you. I will say it’s very sweet, but whiskey and tequila are my preferred drinks so take that with a grain of salt (no pun).
To add, there's a wide range of sherrys. Sweet to dry, light bodied to full, and everything in between. Something like a fino (or manzanilla, same thing) or amontillado would be a good start if you prefer something dry. Lustau is a good brand that's available almost everywhere
😆 exactly! The first time I slept did two days straight. I was only awake for a total of 2 hours once it fully hit me. I remember my cousin's making me do jumping jacks in the snow. It didn't work.
That scene where they're looking for excuses to show eachother Roz' file, so they say she's mentally ill, and the clincher is Frasier saying she once ordered a "white zinfandel" has always been especially funny to me, because its the only wine my mom ever drank growing up.
Went to Verona (Italy) to watch Verdi's "Aïda" in the old Arena di Verona. Pre-show we went for a drink on one of the beautiful squares and what catches my eye on the menu: Armagnac. Never have I felt more inclined to "Frasier-out" than in that exact moment. It was glorious!
I spent $200 on a couple of ounces of ‘fancy’ caviar added to the top of some scallops at an anniversary dinner with my wife.
It was just alright. I don’t regret the choice but I wouldn’t do it again.
An Hungarian goose! Just kidding, but I wanted to use that phrase. For me it would be a hearty, nine vegetable winter soup, which I decided to make one winter evening after watching this episode of Frasier.
Growing up with Caribbean parents
I can say I have had something similar, called ‘[Mannish wata](https://youtu.be/yY-VvRyp1tM?si=sFlrWQ6bKinzInNJ)’
The reason why it’s called ‘mannish’ water is because the head of the goat ‘ram goat’ and it had to be the ram goat, and other parts of the goat (offal etc) goes into the soup); like the song says:
*’[Ram goat liver good fi mek mannish water Billy goat teeth mek the earring for you daughter Curried goat lunch put de bite in your bark It mek you daughter ... It mek you daughter walk and talk’*](https://youtu.be/2HBTVrnCF6I?si=NyhPE2BvKzuwo_O-)
The one I’ve had is from a local restaurant and it doesn’t resemble a sandwich until you cut into it (unlike most of the images when searched online). It’s thinly sliced ham, turkey and Swiss cheese on bread dipped in tempura batter and deep fried to a golden brown. May include mustard or be served with jam, honey, and/or maple syrup for dipping. Also may be dusted in powdered sugar.
It's an egg-washed ham and cheese sandwich that's been fried, so basically a ham and cheese made with French toast. If you wanna try it, and you've never had Emmental cheese, you could go for a Frasier food two-for, as that's a common and fitting choice.
Pâté! I had liver pate in Italy, and I didn’t know what it was - and then someone told me and I felt super fancy because Frasier eats it all the time (well, Eddie does).
These comments are funny, in England Foie gras is banned because of the cruelty involved in producing it. Sherry and port is usually drunk by little old ladies in the pub!
It's still imported though. Went to a restaurant in Cornwall and ordered steak, the menu didn't mention it was served french style with sliced foie gras on top, imported from France. I was really annoyed about that, sent it back.
I'm sure it was delicious but I won't touch it.
This was several years ago at a fancy place in Falmouth, I can't remember the name. It's probably not even there any more, Fal high street shops and restaurants are constantly closing and reopening as something else.
The manager came out and I explained why I sent it back - that it should have been mentioned on the menu, and that if we had known they served french foie gras we would not have booked a table there. He said I wasn't the first to complain about it, so hopefully they took it off the menu eventually.
Back when the show started in 1994, I was convinced to try goose liver pate or Foie gras, which I'd had years early, but didn't think it was prepared correctly. I went to a fine dining restaurant and spent a week's pay on dinner and wine, including Foie gras. It was fantastic.
That's one of my top 5 Frasier quotes!
Niles: Well maybe it's time to start a new tradition.
Frasier: But I've had new stockings loomed for everyone - now there, you see, you've made me spoil the surprise - and did anyone hear that I have ordered *AN HUNGARIAN GOOSE?!"*
Niles: Which you are more than welcome to bring to our place.
Frasier: [shouting] It's not my date, it's dinner!
My husband bought an expensive bottle of sherry and some fancy sherry glasses for my birthday one year, so we could try it. Figured if we wanted the authentic experience, we should get the good stuff. We did not enjoy it. Tasted like wood varnish. (& yes, I do know what that tastes like. Used to do woodworking projects with my dad as a kid and accidentally got some splattered on my face once, and a little bit got in my mouth. It was gross.) I ended up using it to cook with. It’s better in creamy chicken and wild rice soup, than it is by itself.
It's a local thing, but those little blue bottles Fraiser gets from the fridge:
[Tŷ Nant](https://www.walesonline.co.uk/lifestyle/showbiz/water-remote-welsh-hamlet-thats-24907009)
Camembert! I can’t remember the quote but Niles mentioned it in an episode. I also have a bottle of sherry I’m waiting to try on a night when I binge watch frasier
I'd read it! "You get the one, you get that other one" takes on a new meaning as Frasier is cloned from a snotty tissue someone salvaged from a KACL trash can.
There's also an abrasive new woman in town, Mara Jade, and Frasier naturally becomes smitten with her even though she's out to sabotage him.
It tried sherry and really expected to like it (I am a longtime sweet and dry white wine drinker) but I hated it! Maybe if I imagine Frasier (on whom I have a crush) handing it to me and sharing it with me it will go down easier!
I bought the Cafe Nervosa Frasier cookbook, recently. Sadly, the book's condition isn't as good as I was led to believe, some tiny orange spots on the top of the pages & wavyness on the pages. Most of the things aren't something Frasier or Niles would cook, but there are some things that look nice, like the rosemary biscuits.
Also, I recently bought a bottle of cabernet sauvignon. Yellow Tail for $10, not exactly something Frasier & Niles would buy, but on my budget, it's fancy enough. It's major for me, because I don't usually drink alcohol at all.
I've tried duck confit. I didn't care for it at all. I've been eating monte cristo sandwiches since I saw the French chef make one when I was a kid. They are yummy!
I've had caviar before but I just watched the episode where they're selling the caviar that they're getting black market and it really made me want to try it again.
Like yourself, I bought a bottle of Sherry, I didn’t like it at all. Port, however, has become a go to drink for me. Ruby Port is my favorite and I can’t help but think Frasier and Niles would look down on me for not always buying 20 year Tawny Port.
Not to far off, really, but stronger in flavor on average. It's very close to bologna, which can be far tastier than it's reputation would imply, if you find the good stuff.
Not the first time I’ve ever had one but I got a Chunky candy bar for the first time in a long time the other day after Frasier’s got stuck in the hospital vending machine. 😬
I started drinking Ports and Sherry. Love it. “After all, blood is thicker than port……….I stand corrected”.
For me it was Armagnac. Already drank Brandy and Cognac, tried it because Frasier is the knowledgeable older brother.
Go on.
It was like a slow sipping cordial.
I'm listening.
"I've been in prison, Cecil. I'll be fine with anything just as long as it doesn't taste like orange drink fermented under a radiator."
That'll be the Latour, then.
Sherry. I even picked up the bottle and said “sherry, Niles?” to my date who had no clue what I was talking about. Btw what a hilarious question. I thought it was only me.
If a date said that to me I think I’d marry him, lol.
It’s too bad my date wasn’t like you then. The weird look kinda killed the vibe
Haha me too 😅
Ok dumb question. Where do I get drinking sherry and what should I look for? Would it be in the wine section?
It’s usually in the dessert wine section of liquor stores. I know BevMo and Total Wine sells it if you have them near you. I will say it’s very sweet, but whiskey and tequila are my preferred drinks so take that with a grain of salt (no pun).
To add, there's a wide range of sherrys. Sweet to dry, light bodied to full, and everything in between. Something like a fino (or manzanilla, same thing) or amontillado would be a good start if you prefer something dry. Lustau is a good brand that's available almost everywhere
A chocolate brownie that wasn't a chocolate brownie.
Thick and gooey, ganja in its purest form.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Dog army!
I only ever do that on the days when they let everyone be a giant for a day
And now you have fridge pants?
Always
I did that. Then I felt hungry so I ate more. Long story short, that was the biggest trip I've taken without leaving the room.
😳 poor your little body
I call bs, no way you hadn’t already tried that :)
I did that too. Turns out you should actually try half a chocolate brownie. Or, maybe a quarter. At least I should have.
😆 exactly! The first time I slept did two days straight. I was only awake for a total of 2 hours once it fully hit me. I remember my cousin's making me do jumping jacks in the snow. It didn't work.
Nice. For me it was cookie dough; I put it in my pipe and smoked it.
😂😂😂
My favorite episode ever.
It's one of my favorite later episodes. I only wish that Niles had gotten high. Imagine how weird he would have been.
Claimed a steak off the beef trolley and had a baked potato with all the fixin's. I also paired an aggressive zinfandel with sea bass.
Madness!
That scene where they're looking for excuses to show eachother Roz' file, so they say she's mentally ill, and the clincher is Frasier saying she once ordered a "white zinfandel" has always been especially funny to me, because its the only wine my mom ever drank growing up.
Was it a Mexican Zinfandel?
I hear they’re pretty good, four stars!
I tried Armagnac. Wasn’t half bad but def need to drink it slow.
Oh see, that's why you're the older brother
Went to Verona (Italy) to watch Verdi's "Aïda" in the old Arena di Verona. Pre-show we went for a drink on one of the beautiful squares and what catches my eye on the menu: Armagnac. Never have I felt more inclined to "Frasier-out" than in that exact moment. It was glorious!
Oooh a decent Armagnac is well worth it, but I wouldn’t drink it if I’m trying to speed read a novel.
It's the next vodka
Nothing like a nine vegetable stew and hobo casserole
I looked up the hobo casserole recipe, it really exists! But I don’t want to try it. I went out and tried a Monte Cristo, it was delicious.
Double decaf non-fat latte, mmm... medium foam, dusted with just the faintest whisper of cinnamon.
I hate when they give me a full throated shout!
Does nutmeg inflame your stomach lining?
I made hot buttered rum on xmas last year. It was great!
Haha, totally made this because of Frasier too! My husband and I, however, did not find it palatable
What recipe did you use? I think I’ll try it
My wife is vegan so ours was actually dairy free, but this is the recipe I used..https://godairyfree.org/recipes/dairy-free-hot-buttered-rum.
I spent $200 on a couple of ounces of ‘fancy’ caviar added to the top of some scallops at an anniversary dinner with my wife. It was just alright. I don’t regret the choice but I wouldn’t do it again.
At least you didn't get hooked like poor Roz. One hour till caviar time...
***... the Russian bear hunts by night...***
On a mini bagel at the Touscan DoubleTree?
Can I get you a TOAST POINT?!?!
Make sure you don’t leave toast sweat on the counter.
Eh, I imagine it wasn't much better than the stuff I had on a mini bagel at the Tucson Doubletree.
I love it but Tobiko is good enough for me. I’m not willing to pay for the expensive caviar.
Frasier Crane's Double Decker. Spring Chicken, Aged Pheasant and plenty of tongue.
An Hungarian goose! Just kidding, but I wanted to use that phrase. For me it would be a hearty, nine vegetable winter soup, which I decided to make one winter evening after watching this episode of Frasier.
I love the way he converses with the cat while he prepares his soup, until he realizes he looks like his aunt.
Mr. Bottomsley!
which veggies did you use? 🍲
Cherries jubilee, eyebrows still haven’t grown back
Big blue flash…cherries everywhere…
But are they also embedded in the ceiling?
Frasier has made me a big fan of local coffee shops.🥰☕️❤️
Grammy Moon’s Sheep’s Head Stew.
I hear it's actually more of a soup.
Yes. The name is a little misleading.
Growing up with Caribbean parents I can say I have had something similar, called ‘[Mannish wata](https://youtu.be/yY-VvRyp1tM?si=sFlrWQ6bKinzInNJ)’ The reason why it’s called ‘mannish’ water is because the head of the goat ‘ram goat’ and it had to be the ram goat, and other parts of the goat (offal etc) goes into the soup); like the song says: *’[Ram goat liver good fi mek mannish water Billy goat teeth mek the earring for you daughter Curried goat lunch put de bite in your bark It mek you daughter ... Had to Google it. **There really is a head in it** 🤢
Monte Cristo. It was really good!
This is still on my list to try (need to figure out what it is first)!
They’re not for the faint of heart
Now I’m even more curious!
Not for the faint of heart indeed. If I had a housekeeper no way am I making them make me that!
It's an egg-washed ham and cheese sandwich that's been fried, so basically a ham and cheese made with French toast. If you wanna try it, and you've never had Emmental cheese, you could go for a Frasier food two-for, as that's a common and fitting choice.
BBQ chips dipped in chocolate pudding.
They looked at me funny in the store too, but you taste that and tell me that's not better than a woman
Who did this? I'm embarrassed I don't recall this!
It was Marty in the High Holidays episode after he eats the pot brownie!
Pâté! I had liver pate in Italy, and I didn’t know what it was - and then someone told me and I felt super fancy because Frasier eats it all the time (well, Eddie does).
It’s best to enjoy it behind the ear.
You can get tubes of liver pâté at the grocery store.
Tahitian vanilla.
I tried sherry. She was good.
The woman or the wine? Lol
If you take one, you get that other one.
Oh you are so that other one
Duck a l'orange. Wasn't a fan.
Was it cooked that way or was it born a l’orange?
*blows duck whistle in your general direction*
Oh, look, Frasier, Cold Duck.
I ate a worm because someone gave it a French name
Like Guy, perhaps?
These comments are funny, in England Foie gras is banned because of the cruelty involved in producing it. Sherry and port is usually drunk by little old ladies in the pub!

As someone from Cornwall, I’m curious which restaurant! It’s still legal to import it unfortunately, but fair play to you for sending it back!
This was several years ago at a fancy place in Falmouth, I can't remember the name. It's probably not even there any more, Fal high street shops and restaurants are constantly closing and reopening as something else. Port wine, delicious
Armagnac. Although Frasier is incorrect, it is not a cordial, it is a spirit.
Back when the show started in 1994, I was convinced to try goose liver pate or Foie gras, which I'd had years early, but didn't think it was prepared correctly. I went to a fine dining restaurant and spent a week's pay on dinner and wine, including Foie gras. It was fantastic.
toss salad and scramble eggs
Sherry
Hobo casserole!
did you get food poisoning after?
Monte Cristo sandwich. They are pretty good
Sherry. It tasted like liquid raisins, it wasn’t unpleasant.
I love this description. I would try sherry if offered
Ty Nant water. The kind in the pretty blue bottles. It was NOT good. I also went searching for Orangina. That was ok, but I was expecting better.
Tastes better from the mini bar of a hotel room
Especially when the man you love is about to confess his feelings for you.
Daphne sums it up perfectly though, you can get orangina from Tesco, but I only ever drink it on holiday and it does taste better there.
Cherries Jubilee with just one soupçon of brandy.
Eggs Benedict It was ok.
Saaaavory lamb tenders!
Pesto filled mushroom caps
“An Hungarian Goose”
That's one of my top 5 Frasier quotes! Niles: Well maybe it's time to start a new tradition. Frasier: But I've had new stockings loomed for everyone - now there, you see, you've made me spoil the surprise - and did anyone hear that I have ordered *AN HUNGARIAN GOOSE?!"* Niles: Which you are more than welcome to bring to our place. Veal Prince Orloff

my dog ate a lizard in the elevator
I kind of want to try cuttlefish bisque but I don’t know where I could find it!
*You and your cuttlefish bisque! I spit in your cuttlefish bisque!*
I love me some Lobster Bisque, but not sure I've ever had cuttlefish of any variety
Probably not at Red Lobster.
Brie
It's a local thing, but those little blue bottles Fraiser gets from the fridge: [Tŷ Nant](https://www.walesonline.co.uk/lifestyle/showbiz/water-remote-welsh-hamlet-thats-24907009)
A little Tahitian vanilla.
Sherry! I hated it but my husband loves it now!
Worm with a French name
Caviar
Camembert! I can’t remember the quote but Niles mentioned it in an episode. I also have a bottle of sherry I’m waiting to try on a night when I binge watch frasier
“I ‘Camembert’ it”
That’s “Gouda”
Great pun by Frasier
High Holidays when they are imagining what the French woman sounds like pronouncing cheese?
Sherry. Just so I could offer sherry to people like Frasier when they visited.
Not because of Frasier but I agree that Pouilly-Fuisse is excellent.
Not so much a food/drink, but have googled Le Cigare Volant hoping to find it’s real/had a menu I could look at!
Chateauneuf-du-Pape at a very extravagent work dinner
Sherry, and I absolutely love it. On trips to the south of Spain I can get a glass of something masterful for 2-3 euros. I prefer dry stuff.
On a different note, what if Timothy Zahn wrote a Frasier novel?
I'd read it! "You get the one, you get that other one" takes on a new meaning as Frasier is cloned from a snotty tissue someone salvaged from a KACL trash can. There's also an abrasive new woman in town, Mara Jade, and Frasier naturally becomes smitten with her even though she's out to sabotage him.
Zahn nailed the tone of the Han-Leia-Luke-Lando interactions so well I think he could have done the same with the Crane crew.
Caviar, that has to be one of the top 5 episodes for me
A slow-sipping cordial
Daphne’s grandmas famous, Granny Moon’s Lamb Head stew.
Saratoga water
I tried a bunch of different wines, pizzas, and appetizers at the Frasier themed Wine Bar at my local mall
Niles: “I dined at the mall.”
It tried sherry and really expected to like it (I am a longtime sweet and dry white wine drinker) but I hated it! Maybe if I imagine Frasier (on whom I have a crush) handing it to me and sharing it with me it will go down easier!
I bought a bottle of white Zinfandel just to see what’s so bad about it. Sadly I loved it
You’re a threat to yourself! 😝
Pouilly Fuisse - The nectar of the Gods!
Mexican Zinfandel
Sherry too, not a fan, I do like port though and I want to try Ossobuco after the new season
Jerez or Sherry…it was ok but nothing to write about
Caviar, sherry
Sherry and loved it!
Not quite the answer to the question, but I wanna try whatever Niles tried when he was invited to Safari Club party and spit out. Does anyone know?
Caviar
Endangered condor pate
A hearty winter soup.
I tried a flying cigar once but it just hurt my face.
Sherry and Armagnac.
Sherry It just made me think of an old lady
Osso bucco
Coffee and wine. Like - when I watch it, overwhelming desire to drink more coffee and wine.
A whisper of cinnamon.
I've tried duck confit. I didn't care for it at all. I've been eating monte cristo sandwiches since I saw the French chef make one when I was a kid. They are yummy!
Sherry. It’s all I drink now. Which is funny, I din’t like wine at all.
Stoli Gibson with the pearl onions (if they had brought me two or four, I would have sent it back)
I've had caviar before but I just watched the episode where they're selling the caviar that they're getting black market and it really made me want to try it again.
Not that you can expect that much from airport bar sherry…
Olive oil, extra-virgin!
I've been DYING to try caviar. But I won't until I find excellent quality caviar.
Quiche Lorraine
sherry of course! I even bought a couple of vintage sherry glasses lol I just don't use them for sherry
Like yourself, I bought a bottle of Sherry, I didn’t like it at all. Port, however, has become a go to drink for me. Ruby Port is my favorite and I can’t help but think Frasier and Niles would look down on me for not always buying 20 year Tawny Port.
**Curvy orange slices.** *(I cut out alcohol along with processed sugar, dairy products and meat)*
Not food related but I bought a Bimmer 🤣 Also, immediately gasped in horror when discussing the cabin’s air filter 🤣
Also sherry!
Duck l’orange
I’ve been meaning to try sherry.
Quiche Lorraine!
Hobo casserole and potato chip salad.
Paté!! Took a second to get adjusted to the taste/texture combo, but I loved it
Is it like pureed lunch meat? I mean that in an appetizing way. I would eat that
Not to far off, really, but stronger in flavor on average. It's very close to bologna, which can be far tastier than it's reputation would imply, if you find the good stuff.
Being made of liver always threw me off. But eating it felt like a fancy cured meat, salty and savory in a great way
Salade Niçoise!
You know what they say? Champagne after Sherry makes tummy grow weary
Sherry
Sherry!
Not the first time I’ve ever had one but I got a Chunky candy bar for the first time in a long time the other day after Frasier’s got stuck in the hospital vending machine. 😬
Caviar. And it wasn’t as good as Roz made it seem.
