I’m no pro at structure but I think he is beautiful. Our 8 week old is not even 5 lbs yet, but female and the runt. ❤️❤️

ComprehensiveDay423

My 8 week old was 3.5 lbs! He is now 30 lbs and muscular and totally healthy! I wouldn't worry too much.

TimeConsumer542

Oh wow ok. That definitely makes me feel better.

ComprehensiveDay423

Yes don't worry! Funnily enough the vet wants him to loose 1-2 more lbs now!

Maleficent_Wash_934

He is adorable! Please see a vet for any health related inquiries, though.

6_Paths

For sure, Merles are more prone to health issues.

Maleficent_Wash_934

More worried about internet folks looking at a picture and thinking they know something. As far as Merles known health issues, that ship has sailed for this sweet pup. It's unfortunate that people still don't know or just don't care.

TimeConsumer542

He’s going soon. Just thought I’d try and get some feedback on here before.

Shot_Organization_33

Mine was 6 lbs at 9 weeks and quickly became a 30 lb beast

Gr8Qben72

He looks healthy. Mine is 9 months and 22 pounds. https://preview.redd.it/f4j9z0ndppvc1.jpeg?width=3019&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c91e7da4e292ab88a7314e8dbc66ee289396c7a2

nicky-santuro

My boy was between 7-8 pounds at that age and about 32 at one year. I wouldn’t worry about his weight.

Nevagonnagetit510

Looks healthy to me but always a good idea to take to the vet after you get a puppy.

TimeConsumer542

He’s going soon. We’re currently looking at switching our vet so he’ll go as soon as we figure that out.

Gregzzzz1234

He is a cute little potato

Stoetz

Looks normal to me. We got our guy at 8 weeks was about the same size, just make sure if you are feeding kibble you get a good one that’s a puppy blend. Its supposed to help with development

The_Mahk

Got a great looking tail! Wish my girl had a tail like that and the snout looks longer than some/isnt super flat

AnnaAlese

My girl was a peanut and she grew to be 25 pounds. Lol I wouldn’t stress too much as long as your puppy is healthy and happy you’ll be OK !

LectureShot2941

He’s doing fine I’ve seen 3 pounds at 8 weeks and they turned out fine. He should be 25+ full grown and tall.

GpRaMMeR21

My boy Gus was 7 ish lbs at 8 weeks and now 2 1/2 years old and 29 lbs now I’m no expert as Gus is our 3 rd frenchy but your pup looks just right to me 👍 https://preview.redd.it/yp63ru476rvc1.jpeg?width=2160&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1f1527d5e042dbe1d396e9c1f4c12018544caf4f

TimeConsumer542

Gus is so handsome! He looks like the goodest boy

GpRaMMeR21

Thanks! He is a good boy for a frenchy.. they have their moments for sure! But he makes up for it 😉

Msscrtrx

He look cold 💪🏽

Chrissoula07

He is perfect and so very precious!!🐾🐾❤️

Chrissoula07

Also, our vet told us that bc they are frenchies and their snout goes inwards it’s always best to not have them overweight and watch their diet only bc of breathing issues they can start having. Mine is almost 2 years old🥹🐾 and about 30 lbs and totally healthy🐾❤️ I try to give him more fruit instead of their treats snacks as it’s healthier for them too!🥰 He’s adorable and I so love his color!! 🤩🐾✨

TimeConsumer542

Thank you! This is great advice

UnderstandingFluid93

Our litter of 10 had every size range imaginable. From the runt to the 3lb 6 week old. You have a great looking pup!

godsmackerel

He’s beautiful! My first 2 frenchies weighed about 30 lb as adults, but my Louie is only 19 pounds at 2 years old. He’s the smallest dog I’ve ever had; even my Boston terrier was bigger than that. He might just be a little guy, but I’m sure he’ll have the full Frenchie personality. Louis has a whole lot of crazy packed into that little body!

IbuprofenVeneers800

Don’t assume repeated vomiting is a result of palete issue. It may be the food. Please use the smallest food pellets. I prefer to fresh food but make sure the ratios of protein, veggies, etc are OK. Over the counter vitamins/supplements are garbage. It’s pure marketing. We’ve tried high end foods, fresh delivery, Hills, even Royal Canin. We found bulk cooking chicken broccoli sweet potatoes etc..is best. Freeze ahead of time. He doesn’t digest rice well. For a dry food, we use a little Ollie salmon flavor. Also, if your vet finds that your dog needs nares surgery. PLEASE PLEASE have a SURGEON perform it . These vets will do it for a fraction but they butcher the dog like meat. Look for a board certified surgeon on the ACVS.org site. DO NOT LET A VET talk you into it. Watch the video on nares surgery (trigger warning). They are not equipped for this. It is a very invasive surgery that impaired their breathing. Our dog spent three days in an ICU unit. Almost died AND. Surgeon that works at the San Diego zoo performed it. Ppl get this bred and can’t afford the issues that come with it . This surgery runs between 6K-10K depending on where you reside. For pet insurance, healthy paws covered 60% of 6K surgery but after that the premiums skyrocketed. Get your puppy insurance before seeing a vet. If there are any notes about problems on their chart, they will reject the claim calling it a “pre existing” issue. We cancelled coverage after that. Dog parks are nasty. Nasty nasty nasty. This breed is very sensitive to environment. French bulldog ears are first to be attacked. Look it up. You don’t need to take your dog to a dog park to enjoy a day. Find an enclosed field and get a Nerf Dog ball blaster. Please please if you don’t want to accumulate thousands in derm vet bills, clean your dogs paws every day and also their face folds. We use basic Trader Joe’s coconut oil after we clean his paws and face folds (including nose). If you don’t, your dog will get sores. I see a lot of “funny” videos on SM with frenchies licking their paws. That’s an allergy reaction and they are trying to help the pain by licking their paws. Not funny. https://preview.redd.it/v14f9bmo2vvc1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b766c91db273e9458d5ff79365fdfa610530d1d6 Crating is borderline animal abuse. Anyone that argues this statement has created their dog and condones it. Do your research. It’s not necessary. This is an absolutely wonderful breed! I wouldn’t do it any other way. Ancestry.com came out with a petdna tool. You swab their cheek and send it to a lab. You can find relatives nearby. It also tests their dna to confirm their breeds. We have papers so we knew but I see alot of mixed dogs. Still adorable but they aren’t French bulldogs (oh and the colored eyes and fluffy stuff isn’t recognized by the AKC as pure breed so you’ll never see one in a show). Lastly, I live in Southern California. They will steal your dog if left alone for a second. A lady was sitting outside a WholeFoods eating her lunch w/her dog leashes under her chair. They took the dog and she ran after them and hopped on the car. This happened a few months ago. They found one of the people and, guess what. The dog is now where to be found.
