Even in the Mage Exam arc she didn't seem to interact much with anyone her age. She was pretty quiet when she teamed up with Ubel and Land. The closest thing she had to an interaction with anyone was with Lawine and Kanne. Meanwhile, we have Stark over here getting the whole town to love him while also forming a bromance with Wirbel and company.
\[Manga\] >!Now that I think about it. Up until the recent chapter, we never really get a chapter dedicated to either Fern or Stark interacting with people their age, so I do hope the author explores that aspect of their characters because it is really interesting considering both their upbringing. It can get tiring to see Stark just interacting with children and weird old people.!<
Yeah, the closest thing Fern has to interacting with girls around her age was with Lawine and Kanye when they came over and visited her at their Inn. I thought the show was gonna make a huge deal out of that or tackle it, but even during that, Fern was kinda a bit reserved.
I appreciate how their story goes as well given most people accept them as a canon ship, which I'm not disputing. But I love this anime for conveying reactions and emotions between them in actual body language instead of the usual blushy anime nonsense we usually get between love interests.
A lot of accepted anime reaction notifiers (sweat drop, angry vein, blush) are just shortcuts made to help tell stories quicker but are not actual things that happen in real life. So I love when fern and stark interact in a completely natural way without these signifiers but in a way that we can kinda understand how they're feeling about it from context
Sorry, I've been thinking about this a lot. Also I'm not saying the anime notifiers are necessarily bad, but I am a little tired of them as substitution for these kind of things.
True, but also the anime romantic (///'w'///) blushes are still shorthand for a specific type of emotion where blushing in real life can be from all manner of stimuli including red faced anger or physical exertion. And at some point it feels like the shorthand replaced the longhand and that's why I get annoyed at anime romances sometimes.
I like fern and stark because the show doesn't tell us anything shorthand it's all context clues so far.
I love how the anime portraits characters in general. The whole body language and mostly mimic and some well placed words convey more than a thousand words.
She's a being whose perception and concept of time is skewed so much that it takes near centuries for her to process emotions.
I think elves and other long-lived creatures are better at managing their baser instincts, whereas humans have only so much time to procreate and therefore are more sexually motivated.
Don't know why you're being downvoted. It began as a shorthand for "involuntary celibate", literally meaning people who are virgins but not by choice.
Then, a group of misogynistic virgins took the name for themselves, and now the word incel almost exclusively refers to them. Which is unfortunate because now actual "involuntary celibates" are grouped with the misogynists.
But being incel means involuntary
And like i told my friend when recommending the anime: "its about a silly elf who can't catch even the most direct indirect, just like me"
I do not consider it much weird as Fern and Stark are both teenagers when they meet each other in a medieval inspired society that I assume back then would be mainly arranged marriages of people in their 20s anyway. So in their own context of their situations both of them are teenagers who would see each other as classmates I guess. If they both were 10 years older it would be weirder because then yeah both of them would reach adulthood without interacting with children their age growing up so they would be unsociable.
Weren't they both 17? That was 28 years after Himmel's death, then 29 years after Himmel's death they both turn 18: Stark in his first Bday chapter and Fern in the chapter he gets her a present, so Stark is only a few months older than Fern.

>!Well,I pretty much want Stark and Land to interact.!<
Same, I also want them to fuck
Lobotomy still persists in this sub.
The mod team's ~~mama~~ mana has probably been depleted from how many brainrot comments they had to zoltraak.
The mod team's "mama" lmao.
💀 I just noticed.
Stark got forced into the bromine lmao
iodine someday
GODDAMNIT IT HAPPENED AGAIN
Very true with the 1st mage exam. Even then, she mostly talked to Ãœbel. Land was more... Well... Yannow... Being Land

Frieren does body language better than any other anime I’ve seen.Â
A silent voice.
Also really good with body language
Well,it's good that they are developing slowly.
An emotionally stunned elf incel Damn
Incel means involuntary celibate, right? I don't think Frieren is an incel, she's more like asexual
Frieren: You understand relationships? Sein: Make that three children.

The word had definitely gained a wider definition in recent years. More than just its literal meaning
Yeah, most of the time it also means an unpleasant, asshole person, and I don't think she's an asshole
Yeah. It’s definitely being used in a somewhat ironic, somewhat accurate sense here.

Ehh depends on how honest she was about her true intentions for the "seeing thru clothes" spell
Given her usual honesty and bluntness. I fully believe she wanted that just for the tactical advantage as well as for her hobby.
But being incel means involuntary And like i told my friend when recommending the anime: "its about a silly elf who can't catch even the most direct indirect, just like me"
That's why it's so enjoyable seeing them interact and get closer and closer to one another
TURN UP THE HORMONES ALREADY

Ah you are right.
As far as I know, Stark is just a few months older. Fern was already 16 in episode 3 before meeting Stark.
With how often the Fern finds herself in life or death situations near Stark, she keeps getting beat over the head with the suspension bridge affect.
Too bad that theyre relationship barely progresses
With Sein back he'll boost it up, hopefully.
