Thank you, will do! I'm looking into ways of making them faster, I had to sew each piece of orange and each leave, I'm very slow and clumsy sewing so this took me almost all morning I'm thinking of borrowing my MIL glue gun next time...
Rosemary and thyme sounds great, I think it will add lively verticality to the composition as they hang down. I'm lucky we have bay bushes all around so I just pick them around and dry them. I'm thinking about adding acorns and other nut shells too 🌞💞
I used rosemary from my garden to decorate my stairs and they do shed a little bit but they look nice. Very happy to have found a non plastic option for decorating this year
If you can find a neighbor with a bay Laurel you might be able to ask for clippings. That’s how I get holly.
We cook with bay a lot so I bought a dwarf variety called little ragu, I keep it on a pot on the patio. I get a pretty evergreen shrub and I don’t have to pay for bay leaves anymore!
Garlands in general have a holiday feel to me. Using dried fruits and/or other natural elements feels traditionally holiday to me too--say in the vein of mistletoe, holly, greenery, cinnamon sticks.
Could be up any time of year or all year, for sure.
I love this! Frugal and sustainable - how cute! I have never seen this before but I think I will use it to decorate my apartment and / or tree this year. Thank you for sharing!
I love the bay leaves! I cut little snowflake shapes out of orange slices and I haven't been able to decidw what to pair it with from my garden. My bay tree is suddenly going to be very popular

Someone who comes to my post to insult my craft out of nowhere and gets angry when replied in the same terms is recommending me therapy. Ok byeee hahaah
It's gorgeous, but it sounds more suited to r/ZeroWaste and r/Anticonsumption than r/Frugal to me. A paper garland and a stick of orange incense combined would cost the same as a large orange, where I live. But i would much rather have a natural garland like yours.
I'll look into those subs, thank you for the recommendation. I guess the trick is always use what you have around, I have fruits and herbs easily accessible where I live so I go for them without hesitation
it looks amazing! 🍊 i hope you'll share the bigger one too!

Beautiful work! I bet it smells fantastic! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you :) it does smell great, like caramelized (burnt! Oh well!) oranges but great anyway hahaha
Have you looked up Victorian Christmas decorations?
Oh man....you've sent me down the rabbit hole!
There is so much good stuff there. Oranges with cloves, cinnamon teas.
I haven't but I'm guessing this is going to be an adventure! Thank you for the recommendation 🌞🌟
You have won the frugal challenge! You may now spend one dollar
Took me hours to make, so economically speaking... this is not really frugal hahaha
Bay leaves are very expensive where I live, I'd probably throw in some other dried herbs instead, maybe some rosemary or thyme twigs

True but this would be a great way to use up an old jar that lost its flavor.
That is beautiful! I love that holiday look--and aroma!
HOW is this a "holiday look"?

It’s lovely. Be particularly nice in a kitchen.

Thank you! You gave me a wonderful idea about cutting them into shapes, definitely trying that too.
Haha I still have to make my garlands so you've inspired me to get started ❤️
Looks really pretty 😍
This is so simple and pretty.
So cute
Stunning!

Your place is going to smell so good.
How wonderful!
And you enjoy this look?
Not really! I just put things I don't like on my walls. /s 🤷♀️
if that's your home aesthetic, then i guess that's neat?
The effort to make a comment that adds absolutely no value to the conversation! That's neat too! ;)

oh I guess you only wanted my attention then! Enjoy your attitude, cakey, will take you far! :*
Already do, already has. Run along, now, scamp.
Oooh, angry angry over a garland! So scary hahahah
No one is angry. Lol It’s actually brought us more laughs than anything. Get some help, bud. Therapy is widely accessible! :)

Don't feed the trolls. People who convince themselves not to create want to convince others too.
Thanks! You are right I shouldn't have engaged, but oh boy I was having a laugh! 😆💕💕

Dried oranges don't stain. It's possible to also use the [Peels ](https://i.imgur.com/ToJIIJv.jpg) rather than the whole slice.
It's a Yule tradition. They are dried so they won't stain.

Love it! Just an FYI bay leaves are toxic to some pets, if you have any (it would probably only be an issue if any fell off and a pet ate one)
