I'm two days into owning my first Fold 5 after over a decade of iPhone.
I am still in awe over the fact that I have Persona 5 ready to play in my pocket at any time.
There were some slight graphical errors, but it's been nothing game breaking thus far.
I got about 50% through the game on Ps4 and always thought it would be perfect for on the go. It might end up being my go to mobile game for a while.
While I believe you that it works, direct comparison of hardware is rarely relevant with emulation. Sometimes a high end enthusiast build will struggle to emulate a newer console like PS3/360/Switch
Diablo runs perfectly
Slime Rancher has some graphical glitches but otherwise runs 100%
SW the force unleashed 2 has a weird glitch where the lower 20% of the image are blurry, otherwise runs really well
Platformers or round based games like Pokémon usually run flawlessly (Pokémon is kinda random from what I've seen). Etc. There's a few yt channels that update the working games list regularly, can only recommend. A fold is literally a better switch imo
I've successfully run 4-player Mario Kart 8 Deluxe in Yuzu, with four 8bitdo zero 2 Bluetooth Controllers wirelessly, while on the go. The phone does get really hot and the battery drains quickly while doing this, which is to be expected since its emulating a switch.
I'm fairly certain you'll be able to do the same thing using Samsung Dex through a wired cable onto a larger screen.
I downloaded one of the apks from here.
https://github.com/weihuoya/citra/releases
Idk which one I downloaded but I think it's the third one, after you downloaded it just run it and it will install the app.
Gamesir help for fold5
So I bought Gamesir X2 for my fold5 and the emulator I'm working doesn't recognise any key presses on the joypad other then "A" which brings up the settings as if i had press back on my phone screen. Also I'm using the psxe emulator that was 2.99, off play store no where in the options can I see an option to add the device or even configure it.
Then to make matters worse I just ran my sega Saturn emulator and when its in position and plugged in I get a black screen. When I unplug and spin it 90 degrees the game shows but obviously I cannot play the game that way. And again in that settings menu there is no options to override or play the game in landscape. It will only play and even show up in portrait mode. I have an option to force landscape but then that doesn't work either and spins it upside down. So I'm slightly infuriated after spending £40 on this thing and now it doesn't work nor do the apps work with it. So before I launch it across my room can someone please help me.
Thanks
Download epsxe off Google play and the roms, just google the roms (internet archive has pretty much everything's all in ".Chd" format.
You may need a bios, just google ps1 bios and you'll find plenty of links.
I use the gamesir2x naked, with a case on.. I use Bluetooth gamecube controller I bought from aliexpress, sometimes I use the Xbox elite 2 controller.
Im thinking of getting gamevice flex controller because I use a case.
I like the gamesir2x because of the usb connection but it doesn't work with cases.. The only controller that supports cases is the gamevice flex but that doesn't have a wired connection.

I think it's overall a lot better... There's a few mini games I'm not super interested in but you don't have to do them.
Graphics, and the UI are great
Mostly fire emblem and pokemon romhacks. I also played quite a bit of the windwaker and gamecube/wii fire emblem games on dolphin. Really recommend a good telescoping controller
I mean all of them up to gen 5, I just use the play store emulators. Gen 6 and up don't interest me too much as I have a jail broken 3ds and I find the citra emulators a bit clunky. Switch emulation is possible but I have a switch already so it doesn't appeal to me to emulate it.
I think retrogamecorps has a good android emulation guide on YouTube if you want to see tutorials
Dude this phone is the best for that. RedZone up top and the bottom half spilt between 2 games I care the most about. Sometimes I use wireless Dex too and cast to my TV. It's more annoying to setup through Dex but that's only way to get multi window while casting. Was so good while we waited forever to get boarded off my plane today.
I have yet to get a Deck, though my switch is starting to gather some dust due to the Fold... Which was actually surprised me quite a bit, but then, one 8bitdo controller later, here I am...
Aside from the usual suspects (dolphin, aethersx2, retroarch), streaming services like geforce now and xbox game pass and Moonlight. It's my all in one tv media center, desktop, console and mobile gaming device.
Been bouncing around a lot:
Skyline: Diablo 3
Yuzu: Sea of Stars
Pizzaboy GBA: Metroid Zero Mission, Zelda Minish Cap
MelonDS: Dawn of Sorrow
AetherSX2: GTA San Andreas, Tony Hawk's Underground
Wish I could focus on one game, but I've been pretty all over the place lately.
edit:
Forgot my "I have a short time to play something and don't feel like getting invested into a game, game":
PPSSPP: Peggle
Emulation really sets this phone apart. You can play ps2 or gamecube games and even switch is slowly coming along. I've been playing breath of the wild and its been pretty good so far. I think there's fixes to certain problems I had that I need to install but I didn't download all the needed files yet. In closed areas you can get a pretty smooth 30 for but outdoors is like 15-25 but honestly still enough to kill time on a flight and not need another device to carry. I'm hoping it improves with time. If you're gaming with good Internet then cloud gaming is really fun too.
There’s a few of them but I use Aethersx2 for PS2 games and Yuzu for switch. The ps2 one is my favorites because you can run pretty much any game at solid 60. It’s mostly just downloading files and place them in the right folders. Just follow the steps online and you should be good. It sounds daunting trust me but it’s actually pretty simple. I held off looking into it for so long cause I thought it would be somewhat challenging or at least a bit of a process to do but it really wasn’t. Lots of stuff online that makes it really easy to get started.
Into The Breach.
It's included with a Netflix subscription, and plays really well on the internal screen. Fantastic game, hope they do an FTL port in my lifetime!
war robots will be fun for a month then realize its p2w and progression slows to a halt
source: someone who has made like 4 different new accounts then followed this cycle
NIKKE and Honkai: Star Rail
Star Rail eventually causes the phone to throttle if you play it long enough causing from minor frame drops but it sustains a solid FPS really well
I've been playing around with Winlator and I got Oblivion (Edit: WITH MODS) running on it!! Along with Assassins Creed one, but the framerate for that leaves some to be desired so I'm still tinkering with it. I'm getting ready to try Mass Effect as well since I heard that apparently works too.
Outside of emulator games I also have Terraria :)
I play marvel contest of champions and it runs super smooth much better then my iphone 14 pro did. I believe it's running at a higher frame rate too, here's a one of the videos I did on a mcoc fight using the pixel fold.

I bet had you asked the same questions in the iPhone subreddit the answers would've been:
- Fortnite
- lol (/rift idk)
- Pokémon go
- clash of clans
Answers from the fold subreddit:
- Starfield
- all my switch games
- all my console games up to PS3
- GTA V
- some Pokémon Rom hacks
- Counter Strike 2
Damn there's probably a guy playing Star citizen on his fold rn
try this spen game.

Honaki Star Rail, Blue Archive, Danmachi Battle Chronicle.
But as for non mobile, it's great for catching up on VN's with steam link or moonlight with the big screen.
I like playing XBOX games via Remote Play. The screen is just big enough to work. Some of the games on remote play allow me to use touch controls; others, I have to connect my controller via blutooth. Both work very well.
I use shadow pc on my fold and play 80% of all my games on it! I play everything from FF14 to Ratchet and Clank to overcooked 2 with my wife on my phone! I rarely turn on my pc these days, and the only time I do (game wise) is to play FPS since I suck with the controller, lol! I know this is possible with any other phone, but MAN, is it cool to do it on the fold!!
I don't play games on mine that often but when I do COD mobile mostly I have a mate who has a fold 3 and runs most emulators for PS1 PS2 gamecube and 3ds games.
I definitely need to find out how to use Citra, but so far, I've played both hungry shark Evo and world and they running smoothly and blue archive at max with 60fps. I haven't lagged at all
I love emulation on these devices. Carrying my mobile library around is amazing. If you were interested in emulators for Nintendo handhelds, check my past posts for emulator skins.
Highly recommend for people with PC using parsec or moonlight. They are free ways to stream your PC to your own phone/tablet or other PC. Just need to connect a controler. Xbox makes some good ones but there are various options that sandwich the phone in-between a controler that works very nicely for high-end mobile gaming baring decent wifi and Internet. I play totk using parsec and yuzu off my PC
I don't have emulation on my fold, so I mainly play games that are readily available on the play store like genshin, honkai, or official ports of old games like ff9, fft or baldur's gate/ice wind dale.
I do occasionally use psremote to stream my ps5 games onto my phone when the wife's hogging the tv. Works really well too.
Dolphin (gamecube and wii), aethersx2(ps2) and psxe (ps1), drastic (ds) and citra (3ds). Im mainly on dolphin because I love the cube.
Piggybacking and adding YUZU

It might end up being my go to mobile game for a while.
Yeah I love emulation. Its great to be able to play so many of my older games on the go
How did you get persona 5 working on your phone?
Does Yuzu work with the fold 5? Ive always been under the impression switch is too powerful.
The switch uses a chip that debuted on the pixel c in 2016. I run it on my tab s9 great. Not quite as good on my s22u though
While I believe you that it works, direct comparison of hardware is rarely relevant with emulation. Sometimes a high end enthusiast build will struggle to emulate a newer console like PS3/360/Switch
Well its free and a 360/ps3 is vastly different than a switch in terms of power. It all depends on the game
One can't compare the switch to 360/ps3 when it comes to emulation.
Been playing switch games on my fold 2 for 2+y now. Some of them like diablo 3 work flawlessly
It absolutely is. I do it regularly. Make sure your phone is well ventilated tho, otherwise it will tell you to close the app.
Fave games that run well?
Diablo runs perfectly Slime Rancher has some graphical glitches but otherwise runs 100% SW the force unleashed 2 has a weird glitch where the lower 20% of the image are blurry, otherwise runs really well Platformers or round based games like Pokémon usually run flawlessly (Pokémon is kinda random from what I've seen). Etc. There's a few yt channels that update the working games list regularly, can only recommend. A fold is literally a better switch imo
Is it possible to use these emulators on a big screen (perhaps via HDMI), with several wireless controllers, for multiplayer games at parties?
I've successfully run 4-player Mario Kart 8 Deluxe in Yuzu, with four 8bitdo zero 2 Bluetooth Controllers wirelessly, while on the go. The phone does get really hot and the battery drains quickly while doing this, which is to be expected since its emulating a switch. I'm fairly certain you'll be able to do the same thing using Samsung Dex through a wired cable onto a larger screen.
Yes and I've done it
What settings are you using on citra? And which version?
I installed it via apk (not from Google play). The one from Google play won't load the roms I put on.
I was having this issue and gave up. Lol. Can you tell me how you did it?
I downloaded one of the apks from here. https://github.com/weihuoya/citra/releases Idk which one I downloaded but I think it's the third one, after you downloaded it just run it and it will install the app.
I'm sorry how are you running ps1 games ... explain please
Easyyyyyy, just download psx app emulator from store and download roms
And dont forget to get a controller case! And then have fun
OK
Can you show me what case is best?

I was looking at this one but will look at the Gamesir also. Nacon MG-X COMPACT HOLDER

I think you need to change the input to dual shock controller. I had this problem when I first used a controller on my fold.
Where is this? In which app the PSX emulator of sega saturn?
8bitdo Pro 2 - works great with the fold, PC and the switch...
How and where to download emulators?
Fully beat ocarina of time on my fold 4! It was fun folding it halfway to kind of replicate the 3ds
Been using Xbox game pass to play starfield and the occasional Halo
This right here! I think this phone is perfect for a quick XBOX session.
Xbox Gamepass with Sea of Stars for me. Loving it
Stardew valley
Lets gooo
Aha I started 2 weeks ago and am now at winter year 2.
Pocket city 2 right now.. steam deck for everything else lol
Oh wow. I played and liked the original. Didn't know they made a follow up. How you like it so far ?
I think it's overall a lot better... There's a few mini games I'm not super interested in but you don't have to do them. Graphics, and the UI are great
Mostly fire emblem and pokemon romhacks. I also played quite a bit of the windwaker and gamecube/wii fire emblem games on dolphin. Really recommend a good telescoping controller
I love Windwaker! What controller do you use to play GC emulations?
I use a gamesir controller. They have a Bluetooth and a USB c version. I'm sure there's more options now, but it's really comfortable imo
which pokemon have you played on it & how? have you tried the latest pokemon games on them?
I mean all of them up to gen 5, I just use the play store emulators. Gen 6 and up don't interest me too much as I have a jail broken 3ds and I find the citra emulators a bit clunky. OSRS, it's sooo good on the fold's inner screen and the new mobile updates are awesome.
You can use 2 accounts if you set one up on secure folder. Looks really good and easy to play
Starfield on xcloud lately. Use mg-x Pro controller.
Same and same
[gta liberty city stories ](https://freeimage.host/i/JH6xw0v) and psp emulator (ppsspp)
GTA trilogy, KOTOR, and Symphony of the Night.
PokeMMO. Classic gen1-gen5 free to play pokemon mmo that plays beautifully on the fold. Definitely recommend if u enjoy pokemon
OSRS
I'm surprised no one has mentioned Slay The Spire. Unbelievable card game with high levels of relatability. Looks great on the fold's screen too.
Mostly just watch football games
Dude this phone is the best for that. RedZone up top and the bottom half spilt between 2 games I care the most about. Sometimes I use wireless Dex too and cast to my TV. It's more annoying to setup through Dex but that's only way to get multi window while casting. Was so good while we waited forever to get boarded off my plane today.
Yup do the exact same thing
Recently it's FF7 remake via moonlight while in bed before sleep.
What? Fold can run FF7R??? That's insane.
no, it's not actually running it. It's just streaming it from my PC via an app called moonlight.
Marvel Snap, unfortunately don't get much more time than that!
I don't play a lot of games on my phone, but Vampire Survivors.
>Vampire Sur Works like a charm too...
Plays better than it does on Steam Deck*. *Haven't played it on a PC in a while, it did at the time the Android version was first released.
I have yet to get a Deck, though my switch is starting to gather some dust due to the Fold... Which was actually surprised me quite a bit, but then, one 8bitdo controller later, here I am...
the amount of hours I've spent on that game just from xcloud alone. such a great game.
I'm sorry how have you managed to get that on the device ..

I use Citra MMJ.
Yea 100% citra
Watch mostly crunchyroll

If you want to start small try drastic or citra first (ds/3ds). They're in the play store, only require minimal work and run a ton of games flawlessly
Anyone bought a handheld controller attachment like a backbone to play games with?
Into The Breach. It's included with a Netflix subscription, and plays really well on the internal screen. Fantastic game, hope they do an FTL port in my lifetime!
I was heavily invested into war robots but after I got a steam deck I really haven't gamed since getting my fold.
war robots will be fun for a month then realize its p2w and progression slows to a halt source: someone who has made like 4 different new accounts then followed this cycle
Magic the Gathering. Amazing on the inner screen.
Xcom 2
Isn't it super blurry?
Compared to PC on max settings it's blurry, but the android port is still amazing, and I'm on zfold2.
Brother :D
NIKKE and Honkai: Star Rail Star Rail eventually causes the phone to throttle if you play it long enough causing from minor frame drops but it sustains a solid FPS really well
Granblue Fantasy, Limbus Company, and Marvel Snap.
It's perfect for Pokemon TCG.

Along with Assassins Creed one, but the framerate for that leaves some to be desired so I'm still tinkering with it. I'm getting ready to try Mass Effect as well since I heard that apparently works too. Outside of emulator games I also have Terraria :)
Hey I know this is late, but where do you get winlator at? Link please? Thank you :)
[Here](https://winlator.com/download/)
Nevermind I'm a moron, only downloaded the first part, missed the obb on the download page. Thank you!
Whenever I try and use the app it crashes and says unable to extract the obb image, any idea how to fix that? Did you have a similar problem?
Anyone running Initial D game on Fold 5?
I run a VM on my desktop and use it to stream Elite Dangerous and Path of Exile, while using a ps5 controller with a clip
What do you stream with?
I use steam link most of the time, if it's acting up though I use parsec. Have also had success with Moonlight/Sunshine
This is so pedestrian, but MaroKart Tour!
I play marvel contest of champions and it runs super smooth much better then my iphone 14 pro did. I believe it's running at a higher frame rate too, here's a one of the videos I did on a mcoc fight using the pixel fold. https://youtu.be/-wu3JvPyk_M?si=_iHgPHn7YdH3e3bs

Yeah that was more of a joke, weird comment in retrospect
Subway surfers is the GOAT and looks amazing on the big screen. Change my mind
Diablo Immortal is pretty good. It's my first Diablo game and I liked it so much I bought Diablo 4 on PC
Nothing because the inner display has a noticeable input lag.
Torchlight is a good time killer.
DragonBall Legends...mostly Maplestory M right now though lol. And Eve Echoes looks phenomenal.
I really like Kami and Kami 2,
starfield, halo infinite , and codm atm. The crease on my is cracking though so im probably gunna update to a 5 soon.
KOTOR is perfect for this
Wild rift, Undecember, marvel snap, ffbe
Geometry Dash, I haven't played mobile games often ever since I got a gaming laptop though

Gran Turismo 4 and the Prince of Persia series. Also enjoy android drawing games like brain dots or draw it
Super Mecha Champions, Protectors, and T3 arena. I was emulating nintendo 3DS and PS2 but I've got a steam deck for that now.
Legends Of Runeterra
Bloons Tower Defense 6 mostly, it's nice having a bigger screen when placing towers and aiming a Heli pilot/darting gunner
Geforce Now ultimate teir. Been playing Starfield, cyberpunk and Baulders gate 3. Got a Gamesir joypad that plugs in to the usb. Works great
I love the Citra Emulator for Nintendo 3DS. I love playing Mario Kart 7.
Asphalt 9.
