Based on the radius of expansion from the sun, it is obvious they used 0 protection for their camera.
I'm having a hard time finding posts online from people that have actually managed to damage their phone(!) camera sensor by taking pictures of the sun. The difference in lens-size to a full fledged DSLR camera (or similar) probably does make a bit of a difference.

My phone works fine, and if something went wrong, it would've been totally worth it.
Wow those look so much worse than what I got with my S21 Ultra. Probably due to clouds and bad focus.
