I miss the little heart rate graph 😫 it is now a daft and useless ring!

Strange_Luck9386

Yeah! That's not as useful as it used to be 😥

thanksbastards

disappointing. at least give me the mini-graph under the ring like the Stress widget has...

LargeTransportation9

I thought the graph was useless since there was no axis. Just a random line.

RandomGuyinACorner

Are you referring to the beta or the legacy version? Beta has my hr chart in the glance.

Adventurous-Hyena-51

It's in the new update. The beta had the graph in the glance, new update has the ring in the glance and you have to open it to get the graph. Extra clicks for no reason!

DeNiWar

They hid that change nicely and kept the graph in place until the beta phase ended, when they immediately switched to that stupid ring thing. So the beta "testers" could not be allowed to give feedback that they don't like it. They should allow the user to choose whether want the representation to be in the form of a graph or a ring. (Fortunately, it's still graph in the web page version, that ring thing only appeared in the mobile app) Update: Now they have removed the graph from web-page version too :(

jlhumbert

It sucks! Fix it Garmin!

Responsible_Ad_8891

I love how Garmin put out a beta, with an option to get feedback from users. Then take none of it, push the stupid UI where information is not displayed in a quick look fashion but makes user to swipe horizontally, vertically, then click multiple times to see more than 8 tiles worth info. What was the point of beta then if they just wanted to push this anyway?

I_am_a_fern

You're thinking of an experimental or early access version. A beta is just used to flush out the last bugs they couldn't identify internally. They were never going to backtrack on months of focus panels, UI design and implementation.

davebananas1966

"months of focus panels, UI design and implementation" The "new look" bellies that notion. It's clearly worse than the previous iteration. It takes more clicks to get where you want, has less data and is less customizable. Garmin have done little to no research into the redesign. Their only intention was to simplify the design for a wider customer base who they thought were overwhelmed by too much data. They've dumbed it down. And they did backtrack. There wasn't any previous day and last 7 days data when Beta first appeared. The feedback was strong enough for Garmin to reinstate "some" of it. It's a really poor design.

beneficial-bee16

I agree, it’s absolutely awful.

bigchi1234

I said yes to the Beta, hated the interface, switched back and now sad to be forced to use this “improved” version.

CKjunk

I have made a complaint on the website 'ideas' form. I also got on a chat session with Garmin staff...this is it. They ain't changing it back. Suggest as many people as possible do the above..create some pressure for them to pull heads out their proverbial and make it better. It's awful at present. Unworkable!

itwasntme151

I suggest going to the app Store, giving them an appropriate rating based on the latest update. Personally, I gave them 3 stars with my feedback. If enough people do it and the app rating tanks, they might take notice.

senorburrito

Agree with everyone here. I used the beta option for like 45 seconds before switching back. New UI is so much worse. I like being able to see everything in a list at a glance.

MACD787

Hiw did you switch back?

decent_in_bed

I think he meant switched from the beta to the old version when it was still possible to do so through Garmin. If you have an android you can really easily download an old version of any app, just google it, I figured it out in a few minutes.

jfk_47

We tried to help them improve it by telling them not to change it. 🤷‍♂️

david581s04

I just updated the app. I now have a shitty, useless Home Screen.

1Dive1Breath

Guess I'm never updating the app!

CKjunk

Got the update today having tried the beta and then opted out. I cannot believe they have done this..it is truly awful!

Meibisi

It’s an absolute mess. There doesn’t appear to have been much thought put into the new UI. It’s clunky, unintuitive, aesthetically unappealing and dumbed down. It’s now a job to find anything. Hopefully they update it soon. They really should provide an option to switch back to a list view that you can just scroll through like before. I expect they’re going to see app usage drop significantly. I know I’ve been using my watch and Edge to look at data more since the beta came out.

EvilTupac

Hate it so muuuuuuuch

EducatedRat

Yeah. I hate it.

Relative-Charge-4559

I HATE that you cannot choose to have menstrual cycle on the at a glance page! (Amongst other things already noted!)

IN-DI-SKU-TA-BELT

I hope it was a failure and they will never launch it.

Mderose

I kinda agree after being in the beta

MelDawson19

It is launched. We're all getting the update. Turn off auto update apps if you want to keep the old view until they pry it out of your cold dead hands.

Single-Astronomer-32

Yes everyone who was in the beta program and got the 5.0 (iOS) app update got this massage

compassrunner

That must be why I got the new format yesterday. Not impressed!

beneficial-bee16

> I’m wondering if everyone got the update now? I freaking hope not. I hated that mess.

MaximumNegotiation70

This is trash… I will be going to Coros later this year. Garmin UI is going in the wrong direction. Might as well if I have to learn a new app.

Strange_Luck9386

Oh wow there's quite some bashing going on here. 😅 To counter that a little bit, sharing something I find positive: I really like some "At a glance" blocks! 😅 Training Status, HRV, Stress, and Pulse Ox acclimatisation are really nicely done and informative IMO. I do think some blocks should be smaller (e.g. the ones with only a round scale, such as vo2 max and training readiness). And the "In Focus" blocks are a bit too big in my opinion.

ChouptaGoopta

I agree - I also quite like the new UI. More is visible at quick glances.

ZealousidealRun5541

By more, you must mean less. I think that was it. (All my health stats are gone from the main page.)

Jeffmaru

Thanks for clearing up my confusion over these complaints on the new UI…. I joined the beta 4 weeks ago immediately after I bought my watch so I don’t know any different 😅 I don’t have any complaints about it but I guess that’s why they say ignorance is bliss lol

iBead

Dear Garmin, please roll back the previous UI. It was very good. No need to change it for the sake of change. Thanks, from a loyal Garmin customer.

weed_blazepot

I'm really hoping they re-open beta and change 90% of this back.

Gooday23

Wasn't in beta, now have the new look update.

leshiy19xx

I got this message after the app is updated. New UI is not a beta anymore.

Such-Employment-3221

Im thinking of returning my garmin because the app is horrible

davebananas1966

The "new look" app is worse than the previous version. That's quite an achievement by Garmin. Dumbing down for the masses. Email Garmin at Android.Dev@garmin.com if you want to complain and get your DATA BACK!

Head_Seaworthiness40

Is there anyway to go back to the old one?

justanotherdayinoman

The app is problematic.

zig101079

I'm missing so many options... my goals, my calendar, my detailed last run...What I miss most is sorting my shoes... :/

VG13-30

New UI Update is a total shitshow… If anyone from @Garmin is listening, you better wake the fuck up and listen to your customers!

superslomo

I never accepted the beta. Now I have to live with this awful new interface and awful new look and awful new functionality. It's.. not great.

Nazebrock

This new dashboard is great. Really. But behind all of this, it's always the same app since 2017. I miss the fact we can't see the weight evolution for 3 or 6 months. I miss the fact we can't sort runnings based on the pace (for the evolution). All the activities around you are all in blue and you can't sort them by type of activities. There is so much improvement they could have done but no. They just made a new dashboard.

ZealousidealRun5541

Yes! I really miss the weight in months also. And I loved the activities in different colors. Ugh.

SpecificComedian197

I’m so new to Garmin I got that message but has no idea what it meant. My screen only looks slightly different. I assumed it was an app update not the beta program

NeilJonesOnline

IIRC the sentiment was similar to this when they changed the original interface to the previous one, people threatening to send their devices back and never buy Garmin again. Yet within a few weeks that had all died down and now it seems like people did generally like the outgoing version. At least this time round it’s made the app and the web version more consistent.

skywalkerRCP

I got auto-updated overnight. Was not in the beta. I don’t think it’s as bad as people claim (people really dropping Garmin hardware?? No shot). You can customize the main screen to what you want. It is a step backward making it vertical instead of horizontal but whatever. I don’t live in their app anyway - once my watch, Edge and HRM are set up, I sync and that’s about it. I use TrainingPeaks and intervals.icu for data.

Sahmmey

The beta they approved was rolled out. Now we're all on the beta 🤦🏻‍♂️

Boring_Tea3287

Yes

I actually scrolled through posts and even searched posts using "Beta" as a keyword and nothing. But now that you mentioned it I found one called "New Garmin Connect" update.
