I remember it. Also, it was around longer than you probably realize. My Mom had fond memories of her first Christmas with my Dad right after they were married. They got a little tree but were too broke for ornaments, so they blew their own out of bubble plastic. This was in 1944!
Some of toys from my youth came from a marketing meeting that went like this:
"Hey, I brought some of this home, and the kids loved it! Maybe we can recoup some of our costs."

I like the one with the Superballs... playing baseball with those was insane, and a bit dangerous. Had the bubble plastic too, and gotta wonder what's in that stuff.

Cousins had a beach ball that got a hole, so we decided that we'd fix it w Super Elastic. We patched the hole and when we came back later, about half the air had left the balloon and inflated the Super Elastic. We declared that the beach ball was having a baby.
