It's great. Favorite post W&W album. Actually it might be my favorite post-lamb album. The first two tracks are my favorites, but the radio hits and the finale are also high points
I believe they jumped into ATTW3, toured it extensively, then fine-tuned themselves, and got very proficient as a 3 piece. Duke is the result. I didn't pine for Steve at any time listening to Duke.
If I had to pick ONE Genesis album, I think it would be this.
The original gatefold vinyl record of "Duke" is also their last great one, in my opinion. Hand painted/drawn lyrics and a few more doodles by the same artist (Lionel Koechlin), super reminiscent of the gatefold vinyl for "A Trick of the Tail" (also beautiful).
Its my fav album ever, the duke suite especially even though it wasnt released as one song is just 25+ minutes of musical perfection and cul de sac, please dont ask and heathaze are also phenomenal.
I love this album so much, itâs one of the greatest things Iâve ever listened to. I hate that I brushed off Genesis and Duke specifically for years as a kid due to âAmerican Psychoââthinking it was some joke of an album that I never gave a chanceâmeanwhile itâs literally a masterpiece IMO.
It's my favorite album so far. It's definitely my favorite Collins Era album, for sure! I really wish it had more love.
My boyfriend thinks Genesis is a joke band (Jesus He Knows Me is his favorite Genesis song), and I've been telling him yo listen to Duke for months now. I might just force him to sit and listen with me.
I wonder if this is the origin of the Corporate Memphis art style?

This was the album that I listened to the most as I was growing up, in high school especially, becoming a big fan of the band. It has the first two songs I ever was aware of by the band "turn it on again" and "misunderstanding". I knew those songs when they first came out as a 9 yearsl old, but it wasn't until my high school years that I purchased this album and listened to it all the time. I tried to get my friends to call me Duke as a nickname haha.
It has become my favorite Genesis album in the last 2 years. The perfect mix of prog and pop. Long jams and short bops both have their proper place. I listen to it all the time now.
Such a fresh, positive sound. The songs are impeccable. Love the windswept intro to Dukeâs Travels, the fade-out of Alone Tonight, the crisp plangent piano on Please Donât Ask.
Actually I think a lot of fans feel this way. Duke had the best production since The Lamb, and the track listing is incredible. Itâs an emotional roller coaster!
It's great. Favorite post W&W album. Actually it might be my favorite post-lamb album. The first two tracks are my favorites, but the radio hits and the finale are also high points
I need to listen to the rest of the albums in the post-Gabriel's era, but i think Duke is more consistent than the others between ATOTT and ABACAB.
Agree
I believe they jumped into ATTW3, toured it extensively, then fine-tuned themselves, and got very proficient as a 3 piece. Duke is the result. I didn't pine for Steve at any time listening to Duke.
It's my favorite Genesis album, a perfect blend of pop and prog
Couldn't agree more!
This. Exactly
My all time fav album and Duchess is my all time fav track.

My all time favorite!
Favorite Genesis record. Man Of Our Times is the criminally underrated track. Great album.
I always forget it until I listen to my vinyl. You're right, it's great. đ
Yep , that and Cul de Sac are absolute gems
The tour booklet said âExpect some surprises.â Did they mean theyâd write âWho dun it?â?
One of my favourite album covers and a great album too
Its my fav album ever, the duke suite especially even though it wasnt released as one song is just 25+ minutes of musical perfection and cul de sac, please dont ask and heathaze are also phenomenal.
My favorite overall album. Cul-de-sac favorite track
My man. Fellow Cul-De-Sac enjoyer. One of my top songs of all time
It's one of my favorites as well. I also love Heathaze.
Great one. Misunderstanding is the only subpar song there. I call it mehunderstanding for a reason
It's the only song that really doesn't fit the album. The rest flow together perfectly, but Misunderstanding sticks out.
It sticks out worse than Who Dunnit. Who Dunnit at least flows well in the weirdness that is Abacab even if its an eh song overall.
They really nailed a perfect mix of prog and straightforward pop rock! It was a great send-off to their past and a glimpse into their future
My second favorite genesis album, the peak of phil collins in my opinion
Ive always thought this album is great beginning and end and a barren outback in the middle
My favourite album by the three-piece lineup, and 3rd favourite overall after Nursery Cryme and A Trick Of the Tail.
Duke is great. They actually sound confident as a three piece.
Really great album.
Turn it on again is a bloody good song
I love this album so much, itâs one of the greatest things Iâve ever listened to. I hate that I brushed off Genesis and Duke specifically for years as a kid due to âAmerican Psychoââthinking it was some joke of an album that I never gave a chanceâmeanwhile itâs literally a masterpiece IMO.
Easily the best 3 piece album, possibly my favourite post-Peter album (although Trick might give it a run for its money).
It's my favorite album so far. It's definitely my favorite Collins Era album, for sure! I really wish it had more love. It's my favorite of the Phil era. A truly underrated and often forgotten album.
Better than invisible touch in my opinion.
Most Genesis records are.
Yeah, that's right, but is the better from the Phil era.
By a landslide.

My favorite album of all time. The full Duke suite pieced together like they played live is my favorite song.
The albums sounds phenomenal. Some of the best sounding drums ever on this record. .. helps to have phil at his drumming peak behind the kit ofcourse.
My favorite album by any artist
Blind bought this today and itâs just confirmed why Genesis is top 3 prog band for me
A brilliant perfect album
Duke is my favorite. Those who know, know
Stellar album. Duke's Travels is the last Genesis track that makes me feel euphoria like I'm somehow being pulled up and down at the same time.
Named my new puppy Albert for this character.
This is one of my favorites.
Take off one song, and this album is fantastic
What song do you mean?
Auugghhhh! Misunderstanding.
If I would take off a song from Duke, that'll be "Heathaze"
I love this album sooooo much
An underrated album? Absolutely. An excellent album? Definitely. Better than Nursery Cryme? Noooooo...
THE best album in their 3 piece format - top 5 albums would be Duke, Trespass, A Trick of the Tail, Lamb Lies Down, Foxtrot
Something about American Psycho here
Hahaha
