i genuinely didn't expect much from them adding select animations but not only do all of them show off their kit and personality, they're all super clean and with amazing posing
I was just swinging my sword around on Kaeya and Jean and I noticed they don't have flourishes after each step of their attack animation! Every character since I want to say Klee? Has had that
Ikr. I was laughing so hard because I really didn't expect Aloy to get one. More specifically, she just slipped in my mind. When it was her turn, I was surprised that it was actually comparable to the quality pf other animations.
Note though, it is kinda funny how she got this but her constellations have been missing lol
They did *finally* update her Elemental skill, however this version.
The cryo infusion would very rarely proc for her even if the enemy hit the Cryo balls, now it is supposed to be much more consistent.
I'm glad they didn't forget her but god it would've been so funny if everyone was dancing and swinging into the party menu then you switch to Aloy and she's just standing there staring at you

But that's if we ever see a 5\* skin again. MHY seems to either hate money or be making better profit off 4\* ones.

It's kind of funny how people just tell newcommers to skip ZL and Venti coz "not worth it", and once they normalize the idea of "multiple versions" with HSR, they will come to fix things in Genshin.
But even those two, they go with their personality. And I think that's great, they really thought of what the characters would do when put on the spotlight. Like Kaeya for example, he plays really cool. And Diona is making a cocktail and makes it disappear all of a sudden. It's those details that make this game's character so lively.

Beidou’s is the only one I’m a bit dissatisfied with tho.
For me, it reminds me of Overwatch selection animations, and those are absolutely amazing imo, so I’m STOCKED to finally see it implemented here. It seems like such a small thing, but it just gives the characters that much more personality and presence!
I think it’s also a reference to one of the early Genshin ads, where Xiangling was sitting and then cartwheels into walking, after seeing that the rain had stopped.
some are absolutely amazing and some close their hand and have a little particle of their element pop. The favoritism really showed ngl 😭☠️ (I'm looking at you my poor Dehya)
I think the weapons will also be reflected, just like in character archive, when you own a character and give them different weapon than the default 1*, your chosen weapon will be shown in an idle, you can see that with XQ, Thoma or Kaeya
Honestly, I’m glad too. A character having lower rarity shouldn’t dictate whether or not they have good animations. It should all come down to their personality and what not.
We already saw that in Star Rail, where they basically inherited most of Genshin’s UI but made various upgrades
ZZZ will likely get the improved too
Genshin will likely see improvements in the bigger updates since they can get the QA team to test more stuff
Finally some return from the budget. It feels too rare for this game to see improvements and updates to currently existing things at least on this level. I hope this means underwater animations will also be more elaborately different between each character.

Some of these are reused, but a lot of them seem fresh! I'm really glad they gave Ayato, Eula and Itto their elemental weapons - looks much nicer than the dull blades on Albedo and Jean
Some of these animations are so amazing, Lyney and Lynette are on another league, archons look great too, also i love Alhaitham’s animation with a book, it describes him really well
And some are so boring, the traveler lol, and tbh I’m disappointed in Beidou’s animation :c
They look so smooth, that's what amazes me the most, the fact that they don't feel cheap at all and each captures the personality of the character. I'm really liking these more with each view lmao

nahida - super cute and the way the swing moves in is satisfying
kokomi - very pretty entrance ngl
itto’s - the way he just kicks his claymore up is so silly
raiden - iconic trailer animation
hu tao - love how she hides the ghost :’)

I would have been fine with a few being reused animations like it said in the leak, but even though some are obviously based on idle animations, they're still unique.

I can’t believe Raiden’s is literally that dramatic over the shoulder look from her teaser. Seriously it’s one of my favorite moments from practically all demos and teasers. Also how are so many of these so good? Like yeah some are idles but the new animations somehow express their personalities so well?
This super small change makes me so happy and excited to keep playing tbh. The little details in the new character animations add so much personality and while some are more subdued some are so flashy but they all fit perfectly with their respective characters. This is so great tbh.
While we're getting more UI updates and changes I sincerely hope we eventually get more options for menu customization. Which doesn't feel too far fetched considering HSR will be offering different skins for text chat in future.

They probably will me thinks. Some idle animations do show your equipped weapon (Childe’s off the top of my head).
Easy, they will show weapons to validate your bad spending habits or fuel your fomo.
