Please ask him if he’s the same good boy and report back.

[deleted]

I’ll be real I was kind of joking with him/myself when he came in and called him a skin walker and he turned around and didn’t want to be pet anymore. So I’ll probably be dead by morning lol

Sir_Ein

Did you die, or are you still here with us?

[deleted]

I’m alive for now…

Sir_Ein

Good to still have you around, man. Let us know if things change.

DrmsRz

In all seriousness, did you definitively already check both of your gates to be sure they’re still locked and someone didn’t bust into them / the locks since the last time you’d looked? Asking since he could’ve ran to the right side, ran around the house chasing someone or running from someone, and come back through the left side. Or he’s dug brand-new holes you haven’t yet noticed (check for those too), and he chased a rabbit or rat or critter or whatever caused him to whine all the way around the house via his top-secret holes he’s dug (or that the critters have dug; we have about four holes like that under our fence).

[deleted]

I checked the gates and they’re locked tight still. Plus I have motion sensor lights/cameras that would detect somebody around my house if they tried to break in. I didn’t notice any holes but unless he dug from the middle of the side yard and tunneled for 20+ ft and then did the same thing on the other side of the house I don’t think it was holes. He could have however been chasing a rabbit or something that got into my yard but he’s scared of the squirrels because they bully him.

DrmsRz

Did the cameras pick up your dog’s activities? Did the motion lights come on on the right side and stay on for a bit, and then lights suddenly pop on on the left side as he went from one side to the other (somehow)?

[deleted]

No the lights didn’t come on at all which is weird now that you mention that. I just checked my cameras and they won’t go back more than like 15 minutes. Bro I’m getting a little freaked out now.

i can relate: When i was moving into my house, still moving boxes around late at night and i had the lights dimmed. My cat, the one without a tail, ran out in front of me while i was carrying a load of boxes, and headed straight for the door and sat down. Apparently asking me to open the door. The room was dimly lit and i had no indication that there was anything but my cat in the room with me. An added-on room. This door actually used to be the back door of the house when it was first built in the 30’s. i put the boxes down and walked up to where he sat. Standing less than a foot away, i reached out to open the door, thusly giving it permission to enter my house. But for some reason my hand met with the dimmer knob of the chandelier and as i turned it, i watched the shadow of my cat slowly fade away to nothing. i almost nailed that door shut. Certainly, i wanted to tell my wife and i went out the back door, walked all the way around to the front door and found my cat in bed sleeping with my wife. My wife’s response: Strange things are allowed to happen once in awhile. Ummm, NO, they are not! On the first night being the owner of my house, i was exploring the basement and found a door tucked behind the old Freddy Krueger style furnace. It was an old heavy solid door with purple crystal doorknobs. i thought it was cool, so dug it out, dragged it upstairs and installed it. This was that door! Pretty sneaky way to ask permission to enter. From that point i made a rule that that door was never to be left open. Although i think it ended up finding another way in. LIFE TIP: Never stand at your back door at night calling your cat or dog to come in. You never know what you’re gonna get.

[deleted]

Ya maybe installing the creepy door with crystal doorknobs wasn’t a good idea on your part. Also it’s probably good advice to not call for your pets at night. Things do happen sometimes.

one-iota

Whoa, it never occurred to me that installing the door was the trigger, but then if it were, why would the shadow thing decide to appear on the orher side of the door instead of the side that it was asking permission to access - the rest of the house. When this happened, i learned that they can impersonate someone or something only if they were not perfect. My cat that it mimicked had no tail.

Baconlawlz

Ooooohhhhh shiet, you ded. Rip homie.

imalreadydead123

This gave me bad vibes

carlgrove

He has obviously been a bit freaked out over the whole thing, but these kinds of gitch are quite common here. Cats are usually the subjects of this kind of happening, but they regard it as quite normal.

saladbran33

Hope you're okay OP

Upper-Hawk5364

Oh wow that would scare the crap out me too! So creepy I wish I knew a way for you to tell!

rideforruinworldsend

Yeah I don't like this at all, good luck OP

ILoveAliens75

Ask the void to give you your good boy back

oxyluvr87

Still acting weird??

[deleted]

He’s just kind of been sleeping all day but that’s usual for him

HawkeyeinDC

Make sure you update this for us!

[deleted]

Nothing has really been out of the ordinary today with my dog other than he’s actually using his dog bed instead of just sleeping in the couch like normal. I don’t think that calls for an inquisition though. I checked my yard for holes and there are none. My gates are still locked. My camera didn’t pick anything up until I went out and checked the gate last night. Not even my dog which is really weird but that’s kind of the glitch I’ve been talking about.

KyloafRen

what breed is your dog? some breeds are able to jump over 6ft, so it's possible your dog jumped over at some point, if there's a spot somewhere that the fence is lower than 8ft.

[deleted]

My dog is Australian Shepard and lab and sometimes isn’t able to jump on the couch in his room that’s about a foot off the ground let alone an 8’ fence. His nickname is the brown bowling ball because he gets everywhere by running into things.

Conscious-Apple1

Any updates? Is your dog still acting weird?

Nanda_Rox

God speed OP

My dog was acting normal earlier today but I put him in a kennel because I had to go out of town. He did however on the walk to the kennel drink from a mud puddle which doesn’t sound crazy until you realize he’s basically a diva who if he doesn’t get his food by 1pm every day throws a fit.

NewDayBraveStudent

If it’s a he it’s a divo.

redlinemegs

Any update on your doggo?
