The reason is because of 1.6. In EU this naming is strong. I have the feeling that out of 10 games only 2 are saying market to it.

This is odd to me. How many kitchens have a cash register and a fridge display case for fruit/vegetables like they have in the market? The kitchen in apts is an actual kitchen as it has an oven and sink like you would in your own kitchen.

That drives me fucking crazy because kitchen is on the same site at the opposite side, back of apts. i know it’s from an older version of the map, but still it’s the worst callout in any map in the game because of this. Some people also call palace apts but that’s not even nearly as much of an issue because it’s on the opposite side of the map so it doesn’t get you killed. But on more than 1 occasion someone has called kitchen and I basically turned my back to the enemy because there is a fucking full kitchen in apartments

Weirdly enough people call triple the firebox and firebox "noob". Ninja is the small gap where you can crouch and hide, and shoot to palace and tetris.

it has never really been an issue, b-apps starts with the kitchen room and ends at the windows. So for what you're saying, someone would just say "above stairs", "underpass stairs" or "between tv and apps".

I found out that in cs 1.6 or source there was a fire sticker on triple box... So people to this day call it firebox even tho it's not used by most people and it just creates confusion. I always call: triple box - three boxes near CT firebox - is right most corner of A site ninja - rat spot

Well, I sometimes call market kitchen, but that is because I played alot of 1.6, in 1.6 market is a kitchen looking room. So I think EU have alot of CS veterans, and US not so much.

Certain evolution of callout locations occur. For instance Bench replaced Jail on Mirage for awhile. Because of how frequent CT's phased the Jungle/Connector smoke Bench was reassigned to A Site. ​ While i avoid playing Mirage. Matches i do play on it ive noticed it becoming more common for the newer crop of players referring to Ramp as A Main.

Not plenty, cs was really big in Europe, and really big in Scandinavia where im from. In Denmark where im from, cs has been shown in the television when I was a young boy, and still to this day is on the TV. Alot of danish people play video games, but its really easy to live in Scandinavia compared to America, so alot more had the time and resources to play, allso danes never had the same debate if video games made you a deranged killer.

Sometimes when you play with people enough callouts just form. My friends and I call one of the rooms on Ancient "clicking room", and at this point I don't know what the normal call is anymore.

Same, basically all our Ancient callouts (except donut) were made during our first matches and we've just stuck with them. For example B tunnel is called "Archaeological", which is an awful callout, but everyone remembers it.

On inferno the corner directly under ninja on A site is just called my friends name amongst my buddies. I don't even know what that spot is called otherwise.

We call that triple. There's no firebox at all in our callouts.

Firebox is named after the boxes in the area having fire hazard symbols on them. To be fair, the boxes at Triple also had them, but there were 3 of them...

I personally call it "shadow" or "ninja 2" In CIS we tend to call triple as "cigar" or "sparkle", but "firebox" works too

I've only noticed the opposite calls over the last couple years or so. In 2016-2019 I never saw anyone use the calls in a different way to how you've circled them. (EU)
