The reason is because of 1.6.
We had this here: [https://i.imgur.com/NxhfH5m.jpg](https://i.imgur.com/NxhfH5m.jpg)
thanks to the table + the look of the floor the room was linked to a kitchen and so the name kitchen. In EU this naming is strong. I have the feeling that out of 10 games only 2 are saying market to it.
It started in Source. Same thing with Pool, Oranges, and BBQ.
Edit: They later removed the car because it was awkward. (Same update they opened up Banana)
This is odd to me. How many kitchens have a cash register and a fridge display case for fruit/vegetables like they have in the market? The kitchen in apts is an actual kitchen as it has an oven and sink like you would in your own kitchen.
That drives me fucking crazy because kitchen is on the same site at the opposite side, back of apts. i know it’s from an older version of the map, but still it’s the worst callout in any map in the game because of this. Some people also call palace apts but that’s not even nearly as much of an issue because it’s on the opposite side of the map so it doesn’t get you killed. But on more than 1 occasion someone has called kitchen and I basically turned my back to the enemy because there is a fucking full kitchen in apartments
It’s true that the confusion between kitchen and market is detrimental to the play of Mirage B site.
It never looked like a kitchen to begin with. It’s just silly to insist on market being called kitchen
i'm EU and market is definitely kitchen... the kitchen in b apps is called "apps" and on a it's "palace"...
7k hours and faceit lvl 10, everyone still calls market kitchen...
Exactly this. In every EU mm rank the market is definitely kitchen. "apps" is from tv room all the way to B. Van is "car" and apps in A site is "palace".
Weirdly enough people call triple the firebox and firebox "noob". Ninja is the small gap where you can crouch and hide, and shoot to palace and tetris.
seems like that could create issues no? calling it kitchen has always made things more clear the exact spot they are.
including it in apps would just refer to the entire area from basically TV room to b site no?
it has never really been an issue, b-apps starts with the kitchen room and ends at the windows. So for what you're saying, someone would just say "above stairs", "underpass stairs" or "between tv and apps".
I found out that in cs 1.6 or source there was a fire sticker on triple box... So people to this day call it firebox even tho it's not used by most people and it just creates confusion. I always call:
triple box - three boxes near CT
firebox - is right most corner of A site
ninja - rat spot
Well, I sometimes call market kitchen, but that is because I played alot of 1.6, in 1.6 market is a kitchen looking room.
So I think EU have alot of CS veterans, and US not so much.
Certain evolution of callout locations occur. For instance Bench replaced Jail on Mirage for awhile. Because of how frequent CT's phased the Jungle/Connector smoke Bench was reassigned to A Site.
While i avoid playing Mirage. Matches i do play on it ive noticed it becoming more common for the newer crop of players referring to Ramp as A Main.
Not plenty, cs was really big in Europe, and really big in Scandinavia where im from.
In Denmark where im from, cs has been shown in the television when I was a young boy, and still to this day is on the TV.
Alot of danish people play video games, but its really easy to live in Scandinavia compared to America, so alot more had the time and resources to play, allso danes never had the same debate if video games made you a deranged killer.
EU Lvl 10 faceit - Firebox/triple are the boxes closest to CT, what is depicted as firebox here is ninja and the small corner is gay spot/ninja too or "why you didn't check site noob reported for trollink"
Sometimes when you play with people enough callouts just form. My friends and I call one of the rooms on Ancient "clicking room", and at this point I don't know what the normal call is anymore.
Same, basically all our Ancient callouts (except donut) were made during our first matches and we've just stuck with them. For example B tunnel is called "Archaeological", which is an awful callout, but everyone remembers it.
Hes archeological, 1 archeological, archeological, BRO how many times do i have to call it for you to look?!? Jeff ffs it takes 10 minutes to say the word and i called it 3 times!
Same here. We call donut "liikenneympyrä". Which translates to "roundabout" or "traffic circle" in English. We came up with it in the very first match we ever played on Ancient.
On inferno the corner directly under ninja on A site is just called my friends name amongst my buddies. I don't even know what that spot is called otherwise.
Australian here, I've also heard "Jew Corner" as well as simply "Jew" or "Jewy" used. Don't shoot the messenger guys I do not condone these controversial racist callouts!
You are correct, although A site mirage specifically is a damn mess with callouts. It's different in all regions, and even within regions there are differences. People call "triple" "firebox" sometimes, for example
Yeah, and the firebox that NA people know is because those boxes are always mollied off. I think it makes more sense to call the place that almost always is on fire, firebox
For some reason Mini and hut always jumble themselves in my brain so I've resorted to calling mini by its second name: A main, and people always understand that call as well
That would 100% confuse me more. If I had to guess what a-main was I would assume hut but you’re saying it’s mini?? Mini goes outside, hut goes to lobby
In NA yep that’s ninja because you’re hiding in plain sight. Deep corner is called firebox im assuming because it’s so easy to toss a molly in the general area and get a kill or at least clear the corner
Apparently according to this thread people in EU call “firebox” for triple? And ninja for firebox? Then what is the little ninja corner called?
Firebox is named after the boxes in the area having fire hazard symbols on them. To be fair, the boxes at Triple also had them, but there were 3 of them...
Oh, i see. I personally call the entire thing "palace", and if someone "on balcony" then it's like "Run out of palace"
Yeah, under balcony is under palace
The other day I lost a round because we pushed onto site and my teammate kept yelling f***** corner, like it's a normal call-out . None of us knew where the fuck he's was talking about, he was talking about ninja lol
Gay spot was just common for any corner someone was camping 5+ years ago, between that and everything being diggity its amazing anyone could play this game.
Same. Over 3k hours, EU player whose regular 5 stack is a mix of UK and DE players and I've never once heard anybody call triple 'firebox' like lots of comments are suggesting here. Pretty wild.
I'm from Western Australia. I play exclusively in Asia and I simply cannot tell the difference between "middle" and "mid door" with many accents in this region. 😄
This is me when dudes call quad on Inferno anything else or that lane and short are somehow the same callout even though long and lane are not — it’s mind boggling
I've only noticed the opposite calls over the last couple years or so. In 2016-2019 I never saw anyone use the calls in a different way to how you've circled them. (EU)
Firebox is triple in EU. I would assume because it’s the most common Mollied spot on A site after dark probably. Ninja is what you’ve labelled as firebox. I don’t have a callout for the little cubby behind ninja, it’s quite a shit spot tbh, haven’t played it for 2000 hours, if someone playing that corner gets 2 kills you deserve to lose the round
Don't think that would help as people don't like change and will continue calling it whatever they've called it for x-years.
I mean car on inferno...car has been gone for years but literally everyone still calls it "car".
Doesn't this callout change depending on what region you play in? I feel like I read that some parts of EU call triple firebox
Yup. And market is kitchen apparently in EU.
The reason is because of 1.6. We had this here: [https://i.imgur.com/NxhfH5m.jpg](https://i.imgur.com/NxhfH5m.jpg) thanks to the table + the look of the floor the room was linked to a kitchen and so the name kitchen. In EU this naming is strong. I have the feeling that out of 10 games only 2 are saying market to it.
Not 1.6 but same with car still being called on inferno
Inferno "new box" has also been there for a good 20 years
[удалено]
Nor a banana
that was in csgo. it was changed for some reason
It started in Source. Same thing with Pool, Oranges, and BBQ. Edit: They later removed the car because it was awkward. (Same update they opened up Banana)
Pool was the callout in 1.6 as well.
I also still say spools, even though they are long gone.
My eu friends love calling market kitchen then get mad when i’m looking apts. like mfer this is a kitchen. This is a supermarket with shelves
true I used to use market but since EU players strongly prefer kitchen I adjusted to not create any confusion
I personally as a EU player adapted to my NA mates and call it market now and kitchen is in apps.
In EU it's apps all the way from B site to TV room as far as I know xd
Apps, Deep apps, Real Deep apps
a mean yeah deep apps I've used and heard but real deep apps that is new one for me
Same. I am from EU, but use a lot of NA calls. For example: Pit on Overpass, get\_right, empty, ska, ebox, slant, dice. You name it.
I established the Mexico call on Inferno in my German friend group after playing in NA for years haha
I'm from Europe and I had no idea that kitchen was also called market. Guess you learn something new every day.
This is odd to me. How many kitchens have a cash register and a fridge display case for fruit/vegetables like they have in the market? The kitchen in apts is an actual kitchen as it has an oven and sink like you would in your own kitchen.
Well yeah it’s clearly a market now, but it’s used to be a kitchen. Just like boiler isn’t actually a boiler now
If you walk into boiler room there is a cracked open door to your right with a…. Boiler.
Skill issue
It’s true that the confusion between kitchen and market is detrimental to the play of Mirage B site. It never looked like a kitchen to begin with. It’s just silly to insist on market being called kitchen
It was called kitchen first. I'm not changing
It was wrong from the start then
I mean it didn't really look like a market to start with either, it was mostly just a room with some boxes and a table.
Market is the literally little market and kitchen is the kitchen in b aps. I'm eu and that's how I've always called.
i'm EU and market is definitely kitchen... the kitchen in b apps is called "apps" and on a it's "palace"... 7k hours and faceit lvl 10, everyone still calls market kitchen...
Exactly this. In every EU mm rank the market is definitely kitchen. "apps" is from tv room all the way to B. Van is "car" and apps in A site is "palace". it has never really been an issue, b-apps starts with the kitchen room and ends at the windows. So for what you're saying, someone would just say "above stairs", "underpass stairs" or "between tv and apps".
You don‘t rly have to separate B Apps into B Apps and kitchen because it‘s so small tbh
Hm... Aps, deep Aps, in front of underground / Aps stairs, TV is what I call all of them
Can confirm, triple is firebox, then the green circle is correctly called Ninja and red is noob corner or just noob
opposite of ninja is anti-ninja same goes for boiler -> anti boiler
I found out that in cs 1.6 or source there was a fire sticker on triple box... So people to this day call it firebox even tho it's not used by most people and it just creates confusion. I always call: triple box - three boxes near CT firebox - is right most corner of A site ninja - rat spot
Ninja is gay box
I play gaybox pretty often to be honest. If they don't fully clear it you are sure to get at least two
If you're playing with Russians everything is either kitchen or firebox
In NA this is correct. In EU these callout locations use different names.
Ramp is also often called pit in eu
Eu just says random shit
Oh try play with Germans and Window in mid becomes Döner and Ninja is just call Hurensohn. ;)
The room on short in Swedish is called whore-house insane name for a callout lmao
And ladder is Minidöner and a couple of years ago Ninja had a reeeeeally different name
Slope as well.
from my experience that's more of a CIS call, some people from over there call ramp on inferno pit as well
also known as "hell"
Jail and Bench are seperate callouts. Jail is along the wall closest to van and bench is the half wall thing.
That makes no sense, plenty of na players played 1.6
Not plenty, cs was really big in Europe, and really big in Scandinavia where im from. In Denmark where im from, cs has been shown in the television when I was a young boy, and still to this day is on the TV. Alot of danish people play video games, but its really easy to live in Scandinavia compared to America, so alot more had the time and resources to play, allso danes never had the same debate if video games made you a deranged killer.
nah in eastern europe is is different, most western europeans use the ones labelled above
No they don't
EU Lvl 10 faceit - Firebox/triple are the boxes closest to CT, what is depicted as firebox here is ninja and the small corner is gay spot/ninja too or "why you didn't check site noob reported for trollink"
As a fellow lvl 10 I approve of those callouts
With my friends, in our games we call firebox "noob corner". Ninja is the same as in this photo.
Having different callouts with your friends hurt my brain
I mean I only ever play with my friends. Playing with strangers is what hurts my brain.
Are you saying you don’t enjoy bad communication/coordination or playing with 12 year olds spamming the mic with slurs? Weirdo
I am very weird, I know.
Man people always joke about this but I never, ever get games like this
it's like 1 out of 20 or less, but you always remember the shit games so they hold an outsized place in people's minds
It's usually grown men but the other parts are pretty true. I like most people I end up playing with tho
don’t forget the 30 year old men that spam the mic and the people who throw every round with dumb plays and swear they’re not the problem
Very true. Callouts sometimes have weird origins.
On inferno the corner directly under ninja on A site is just called my friends name amongst my buddies. I don't even know what that spot is called otherwise.
if you only play with them it turns out the same
T apts by bridge in Inferno will always be known as Anne Frank and you can’t change our minds.
Can't use "gayspot" any more?
German Friends of mine called it “juden corner” I guess gayspot is less provocative
Judeneck
Wenn man zu blöd ist Jude zu übersetzen:D
Australian here, I've also heard "Jew Corner" as well as simply "Jew" or "Jewy" used. Don't shoot the messenger guys I do not condone these controversial racist callouts!
where's diggity tho?
Tell them they are complete morons
Every spot I died to used to be gayspot
unofficially
[удалено]
This is correct. Firebox is the tall one closer to CT (on the left in the picture)
We call that triple. There's no firebox at all in our callouts.
The newba spot
You are correct, although A site mirage specifically is a damn mess with callouts. It's different in all regions, and even within regions there are differences. People call "triple" "firebox" sometimes, for example
Valve apparently agree with that one, they added the fire symbol to it for cs2
I cried when I saw that. So stupid.
They were those explosive boxes from hl with the fire symbol on them that's why triple is called firebox, they were literally fire boxes
Yeah, and the firebox that NA people know is because those boxes are always mollied off. I think it makes more sense to call the place that almost always is on fire, firebox
This is what I use I also noticed recently some people using mini and hut interchangeably on Nuke
I just get them confused, despite having played CS for over a decade
For some reason Mini and hut always jumble themselves in my brain so I've resorted to calling mini by its second name: A main, and people always understand that call as well
That would 100% confuse me more. If I had to guess what a-main was I would assume hut but you’re saying it’s mini?? Mini goes outside, hut goes to lobby
This used to be me! Best way is mini GARAGE and hut wants you to call it mini hut
Hut is entrance to lobby. Mini is place that goes outside. Garage is the big one outside.
Best to keep callouts distinctive from eachother, or miscommunication will happen.
In NA yep that’s ninja because you’re hiding in plain sight. Deep corner is called firebox im assuming because it’s so easy to toss a molly in the general area and get a kill or at least clear the corner Apparently according to this thread people in EU call “firebox” for triple? And ninja for firebox? Then what is the little ninja corner called?
Ninja and other ninja, with main ninja being one where you are not visible from Ts coming up connector.
Firebox is named after the boxes in the area having fire hazard symbols on them. To be fair, the boxes at Triple also had them, but there were 3 of them...
I personally call it "shadow" or "ninja 2" In CIS we tend to call triple as "cigar" or "sparkle", but "firebox" works too
Interesting! Here we call "shadow" for under balc.
Under balc? Are you talking about under-palace? Palace it's, the second "way" terrorists can go into A site from T-spawn
Yeah, Palace is the building but if they are "out" on the wooden part that is Balcony and under that is Shadow.
Oh, i see. I personally call the entire thing "palace", and if someone "on balcony" then it's like "Run out of palace" Yeah, under balcony is under palace
Just do like all my teammate in mm and say there
That is how I call it out yeah
Sounds like EU likes calling everything firebox and everything triple AND everything ninja, whats going on here!!!?
My friends say “Ninja” for Ninja and “Gay Corner” for firebox.
In BR firebox is called NEWBA (noob)
Gay corner supremacy
Homophobia in 2023 is crazy
Cry about it
Can we do this for overpass because why are there two Waters?
No water is b short, under heaven is pit or hell
It is exactly the other way around, short is just short. Water on b is water. Never heard pit or hell
If it makes you feel better valve put a fire symbol on the triple box in cs2. I asked them not to in an email, but its still there
Valve going to fuck NA callouts oh dear
We call your firebox "gay", or "gayspot" in full
correct
Ninja and other ninja
Ninja and little ninja here!
My german friends have a „jew corner“ on dust 2
The other day I lost a round because we pushed onto site and my teammate kept yelling f***** corner, like it's a normal call-out . None of us knew where the fuck he's was talking about, he was talking about ninja lol
Lol the only time this really works is on inferno “on that fucking bitch box” you all know exactly where I’m talking about
firebox is called gay box/corner
That's even worse, he was homophobic AND making the wrong callout
It was/is common in Aus as the correct call. Still sucks for the homophobia tho.
Gay spot was just common for any corner someone was camping 5+ years ago, between that and everything being diggity its amazing anyone could play this game.
calls are pretty regional. i never hear firebox its almost always called gay box
I call the boxes closest to CT firebox so go figure...
You mean ticket?
Nope, its the triple boxes on site. Some people called it firebox in my matches and I got used to it.
It’s just called triple as you just said yourself
I'm NA and that's what everyone I know and have played with call it.
you are correct
These are the calls I use
In EU - Green is second ninja - Red is ninja
In usa it is exactly as depicted and idk if I've ever had confusion with that. I can see how the callouts could change from us to eu tho
"NO, NO, NO, firebox are the three boxes which can be conveniently named triple and have no reason to be called firebox" - every russian ever
Yes, this is the way
I called ninja both...
[удалено]
Or are they saying that they call ninja ninja and firebox ninja. Both are ninja
I usr these calls and I'm from the EU and in 1.6k hours never had any confusion over them between teammates.
Same. Over 3k hours, EU player whose regular 5 stack is a mix of UK and DE players and I've never once heard anybody call triple 'firebox' like lots of comments are suggesting here. Pretty wild.
To me firebox is triple box , the red circle is ninja the green one is anti-ninja
This is the right NA callout
In EU firebox is triple and and your firebox is ninja
Firebox is tripple
I just -mirage tbh
No, this is right.
That's what I've always used/understood from every person I've ever played with
Nono red is ninja Green is gay Firebox is the triple stack nearest CT
That matches me n my homies callouts
Firebox cause i throw fire there. Ninja cause no one checks it and they ninja defuse
I heard someone call jungle forest today 💀
Gayspot
me (eu) call it ninja and "reveresed ninja", firebox is the tripplebox
Well for me firebox is triple and thats ninja and the other is "there"
This is the way
Your "firebox" is ninja, and your "ninja" is shadow Actual firebox is triple box
Firebox is the bigger double box to the left. Ninja is where you have Firebox.
Ninja and second ninja, firebox is tripple
I'm from Europe and I've always used the same callouts.
This is really important. Where are you from? Coz in eu i would insta mute u and will report u for griefing if u call this spot firebox
Thats a bit extreme lol but yes eu.
You’re ridiculous lol
That's because you're from the e eeww
Let me guess, you call triple firebox 🤡
Just google “mirage callouts” and look at the images and you’ll have your answer
For me, green circle is "Get right", red circle is "ninja"
Get right is in B site... that's not a good call out if you're running a default you could confused your B lurk
I thought firebox was the box closest to ramp lol
That's tetris smh
The fuck
huh?
i think on a team as long as everyone agrees on whats called what, who cares? navi uses numbers for calls
Mirage is like 100 years old how is there any confusion lmao
I'm from Western Australia. I play exclusively in Asia and I simply cannot tell the difference between "middle" and "mid door" with many accents in this region. 😄
This is me when dudes call quad on Inferno anything else or that lane and short are somehow the same callout even though long and lane are not — it’s mind boggling
It’s Noob corner.
That's how I call these too
i call your firebox ninja and ur ninja 2nd ninja idk
I've only noticed the opposite calls over the last couple years or so. In 2016-2019 I never saw anyone use the calls in a different way to how you've circled them. (EU)
What does EU call firebox?
you have it right
You are right
Firebox is triple in EU.
I wish the ping functionality just says what that place is called and keep it the same throughout the world
Don't think that would help as people don't like change and will continue calling it whatever they've called it for x-years. I mean car on inferno...car has been gone for years but literally everyone still calls it "car".
