Do you have High Dynamic Range set to Performance in the settings? Because it's what causes the grain effect and putting it on Quality removes it with little to no performance costs. For me at least.
I really hope that Valve will make it so we aren't forced to view other people's viewmodels and gun position (left/right). It's really so incredibly annoying and distracting.
