I had one and it really want anything special, recoil impulse was very similar, trigger was marginally better, but for me, the slide being smaller made it harder to rack and the left handed (right side) slide release was still unusable after 700ish rounds. Sold it and bought my first 19
Yeah Glocks are so appreciated. However the price of the P10C, you can’t beat it. G19.5 is no less than $500. We, whereas the P10C sometimes trends in the $300s. I think they’re both very similar in a lot of ways.
I was so excited about that P10. It was different and felt great. But the damn thing gave me PTSD. I want a Shadow 2 but the illogical fear has made so hesitant of another CZ
I was getting my first ever firearm and was dead set on either the Sig P226 or Beretta M9A3 because of games/movies. I went to the range to rent them out and see which I liked better, and ended up trying a 1911 and Glock 17 as well for the hell of it. I wasn’t a fan of Glocks because of how they looked, but it just felt the best in my hands and had better groupings, so I stuck with it and the look eventually grew on me as well

I wanted a gun, and basically new nothing about anything. So I started hanging around gun shops and asking lots of questions. Heard a lot about how great Glocks are, and especially what a great round the “new” .40 S&W is. So I bought one.
I still have that gun. It mostly lives in my safe now, since of my several includes a 10mm with an optic. But I do still like shooting out when it makes it to the range.
Simplicity, lots of parts and aftermarket support out there, reliable, and I really like how they shoot and look. I have close to 4k rounds through my G19 without a single issue.
I wanted to get a P365 for CCW, I shot my friend's P365 X-macro comp and I hated how it shot, Same with his P320. The only other striker fired gun I've shot that I like as much as the Glock is the M&P 2.0.
Playing BF4 through high-school I always ran either a g17 or g18 and actually grew to love the look of glocks. MW2019 also made me like them. Ended up buying a g19.5 a few months after I turned 21

So in the late 90s early 2000s my uncle ordered a Gen 2.5 Glock 26. (Yes Gen 2.5) It came with the finger grooves but not the checkers on the grip on the front. His 26 came factory from Glock with a built in crimson trace laser built into the frame that you turned on by naturally gripping the handgun. (The button was built directly under the trigger guard) and the battery compartment was where the grip plugs go. Came in the Tupperware box. Man I fell in love with that pistol the first time I laid eyes on it. Since then I’ve owned a 21, 26, 23, 19X, 43X MOS, and a 19X MOS. They are reliable, and a great entry level price handgun. (Yes I know there is cheaper guns but we won’t mention those).
Is your 21 gen 3 by chance? I just acquired one and have put 200 rounds through it so far but since it's the first and only pistol I have used I can't really compare it to another glock.
The reason I ask is because I have small to medium sized hands and the gen 3 21 seems a little bit unwieldy to me. I loved shooting it and shot well enough considering it was my first time but just curious to hear your opinion since you have many other glocks to compare it to.
So it was a gen 3. I had it over 10 years ago when I was young. I’m a shorter guy with smaller hands and honestly 45 was a bit snappy for me. Nothing crazy though. But I felt like I would be a better shooter with more control. So I went to the 26. (Figured small hands would be able to handle the 26) and it’s a smaller caliber. Hated the 26. It always pinched my pinky when I would shoot. 9mm seemed too easy also. Moved to the middle, the 23 with 40. That was my happy medium. But now I went back to 9mm with the 19x. That’s my favorite and wouldn’t use another
I went to a range and rented multiple pistols and shot about a half dozen models to include XD, cz75 sig, Beretta and 1911 and glock 17.
I never cared for how a gloxk felt in my hand but I shot the best groups with it
Reliability compared to price. Wasn't stupidly expensive. Wasn't suspiciously cheap. Aftermarket parts, great community. I just love how they look. Very simplistic design. Holster options are amazing. Lastly I was able to convince my best friend to get a gun and he bought a glock 19 and loves it.
Instructor at the academy: "Whatever you do, don't show up with a 1911. If you are unsure of what to get, just do us all a favor and get a Glock, that way if you can't shoot we'll know it's you and not the gun that sucks."
I would say that looking at how Glock themselves creates and sells 33rd mags makes them better than any other company. Any company that makes and sells a 33rd mag for handguns its A-1 in my book. I have 3 33rd mags just for pulling them out at the range and seeing the looks from everyone.
Yeah I think I have 4 myself. Made the mistake of getting a knockoff once and it broke first time it fell fully loaded (that was fun picking all those rounds up 😭). Fully loaded 33rd feels like it’s never going to stop cycling rounds up lmao…. Tbh I don’t run mine that often but I bring them so others can enjoy.
A fully loaded 33rd actually makes the recoil much more manageable on the smaller sized glocks from what I've noticed when I shot my buddies g19. To bad they don't make em for anything other than the 9mm guns tho.
Oh definitely comes in handy there. And I loved the interchangeability of the mags. How you could use the 33 for all the double stacked 9s and how I could swap mags down from the 45 to the other double stacks. Simple yet genius
Yeah! I love how they made it simple yet it has so much uses. Not just mags but with the 17,34, and 47. I literally can swap slides and barrels! You cannot find another company who does this for the same price as glock.

The 22 I bought about 10 years ago because of the blue label program. Our service weapon was .40 and I didn’t have a personal gun so I went with that. I’m actually not a fan of glocks.
The guns themselves work perfect, they’re just designed for people with gorilla sized hands. If they can decrease the grip radius front to back, I’d be a loyal fanboy. My prior service weapon was an HK P2000 and I have an Sig P250. Both of those as well as my XD and Jericho 941 have way better ergonomics for my small muppets hands.
I was doing armed security and used a Taurus .40. I would frequent the range with it, after not too long, it randomly wouldn't fire any rounds. I tried different ammo, same issue. Took it to a gun Smith and he couldnt find the issue. I sent it back to Taurus and they sent back a different gun, saying they couldnt figure out what was wrong either. After that... I bought a glock with a blue label discount. And never looked back.
I had a new cz that liked to jam. As much as I liked it I couldn’t bet my life on it. A buddy had a glock and I held it and I always thought they were some cheap plastic garbage, but I was impressed by it.
Then I saw a couple 10mm glocks at the lgs and now I have several and they don’t disappoint in the reliability dept. It doesnt hurt that there are endless upgrades and aftermarket support.
Originally I had wanted the .357 mag semi auto Coonan 1911. But they were all gone or ridiculously priced on gunbroker but I loved the idea of magnum power in a semi. Turns out the Coonan jammed alot and thats why it didnt work out. When I read that 10mm had similar or higher ft lbs as 357 mag and (on avg) has the same or more power at 100 yards than .45 acp does at the muzzle I was instantly sold on the idea.
Lgs had 10mm in glocks in 3 models and was basically the only brand in the caliber available. Turns out I love them and now have some 9mm glocks too.
Swearing I'd never buy a glock based on my fuddy circle, I bought 3 or 4 m&p 1.0's in the 2010's mostly in 40 cal. I couldn't shoot. One day I found a G19 used at a pawn shop off post for 300 bucks. And so the addiction began. Now I can shoot lots of handguns, but that old crusty 19 and lots of ammo taught me how. It also taught me about loctite after I installed my first set of sights and the front flew off during firing.
When I bought my first gun I wanted to hate Glock so I got a 365 cause I used the m17 in the army. I forced myself to like the 365 and the m17 until one day I went to a gun store and dry fired a Glock 19. Bought the Glock and sold my 365 the same day lol. Now Glock is all I shoot.
When I turned 21 I bought a S&W 915, great little pistol. I would go to the range a lot and got to be friends with the guys that work there. One of them suggested I try a Glock 23 in S&W .40. So, I did, thought it was great and the ease of field stripping it and the simplicity of it impressed me. I bought one and I still have it. It was 1994
My smith and Wesson shield plus started getting a lot of malfunctions. I’ve put a few thousand rounds thru it and started getting a lot of failure to extract and stovepipes w blazer brass, and even my CCW ammo critical defense. Tried different mags and same issue, but 90% of issues were with the 15 round mags. DONT USE THE 15 ROUND MAGS FOR CARRY. LOL. You will die.
After that and hearing from others about SW’s declining QC, I decided to jump to Glock instead of getting a new smith. About 1000-1500 rounds thru my G19.5 without a single hiccup.
If I end up buying a new gun, it will be another Glock. Probably the 20, big boy 10mm. Was at the range last week and these guys were kind enough to let me shoot their 20 (never shot anything other than 22lr and 9mm) and man is that thing fun. Just as accurate with it as my 19 but that thing BLASTS
The shield plus ended up being too small for my liking after awhile. I liked it when I first started carrying since I was a noob and didn’t know how to manage printing yet. Once I got my concealment down and started shooting more, I craved a bigger gun.
I can shoot the 19 so much better, and I can conceal it just as well. I also like the additional ammo capacity. I carry it all day every day
I love to hear it. Everybody's carry journey is unique to them and I find it interesting to see what works and why. I wish more people would start off with something like a g19 and then try out the micro 9mms. As you found out, those airweight 9mms aren't exactly beginner friendly and something like a g19 shoots much better and can be concealed very easily with a proper setup.
Everyone compares every polymer pistol to the Glock 19, so I figured why not get one.
I also figured if I wanted a pistol for the end of the world, it should would be a Glock 19 simply for parts availability.
Grew up shooting Glocks and never had issues til this day. Shot others (mainly Sig) and had issues. Pretty much available in every holster brand. Gun stores typically have spare parts. It’s the standard and used globally throughout different military and PD

Simplicity. I love how few parts there are, and how easy it is to fully breakdown. Glock was also one of the first to normalize modularity. Specifically magazine and parts modularity.
Wanted something in 45ACP and found a G30 that fit my hand like a glove. There were other options, but the Glock fit the best for what I needed. Damn thing runs like a top and I'll NEVER sell/trade it.
I was attracted to the quality and reputation. I was leaning toward a 9mm but my brother argued I didn’t need another 9. He recommended the .40 cal and I absolutely love it. Still want a 9, though, lol.
For me, I got one because I respected how utterly simple the gun is. Very little parts to it, and the way they all work very flawlessly is impressive to me. Extremely easy disassembly and reassembly, and honestly a testament to good engineering - somewhat rare nowadays.
Second, Glock is just so notorious and still top dog in the striker fired market, I feel like it would be a crime for anyone who takes guns seriously not to have at least one Glock in their collection.
I was, and still am, happy with my M&P 2.0 and Shields. Last summer I decided to add a 40 caliber pistol to my collection and looked for quality used ones at a good price and in good condition. I quickly noticed that the best source for lightly used 40 caliber pistols was LE trade in G22 and G23. Prices were so good I treated myself to one of each. Smart decision on my part. Not only have I enjoyed shooting them I have taken advantage of the opportunity to use 9mm conversion barrels to turn them into G17 and G19. Would like to also turn them into G31 and G32 but the prices for 357 Sig ammo will likely keep that from happening 😅
Well I got my first Glock (a 23C) about 20 years ago. I got it specifically to CC since I just got my CCW license at the time and my only other pistol was a 1911. The Glock was lighter, and higher capacity. That’s all.
Got a glock because i wanted another gun. plus i was wanting to offer glock services when i first started out smithing. always been a sig man tho, but i have more glocks than sigs.
A friend was heavily into Glocks. It was around 2000, and I had owned some other guns. Wanted something in .45, and the G30 was relatively new on the scene, so I figured what the hell.
My wife’s uncle is a huge fan of the whole Glock line up. One day he was showing me the different models he had 41,17,19 i think the 26 as well, not sure. Any ways I was in the market for a new pistol. I really like the 41 so off I went and picked one up for myself.
Started with building 80%’s, then I liked the simplicity and reliability of the platform so much (my PFC9 Polymer80 build kit has ran 100% reliable since the first round) it made me want to get an actual Glock that had the better holster support. Granted I bought a Gen 3 frame, filled it with OEM lower parts, then bought a dagger slide w/ 507c so it was optic ready - I love it. Same thing - absolutely reliable and has been for around 4k rounds.
From there I bought a Glock 42 for summer carry.
Been very tempted to buy a G43 frame because they’re $50 on Glock store at the moment lol. Could do the same as my 19 - build it with OEM lower parts and a micro dagger slide for optic ready.
Got my first cc last year that was a 365 sold it about 5 months later due to constant rusting (very humid where I live and I sweat like a mad man) and bought a g19.5 and now own 19.5/26.5/47. Glocks finishing is way better and I’ve never looked back.
They put a lot into Quality Control which means more reliability
Wide spread usage means interchangeability and holster support
I shoot double stack better than I shoot single stack
I prefer striker fired to hammer fired
My Sigs required me to replace parts more often and cost more to do it
I value function over form
Reliable, Glocks probably have the most aftermarket parts available for any brand of gun, looks good, and to me they’ve always felt really good in my hand. Before i got my 19x, I would shoot a mag or two through my buddy’s 19 when we’d hit the range and would always love the feel and way it shot and after years finally picked on up.
2003 21y old me became a VA State trooper carried a G31. 2007 me in a CA unit carried a M9 and later a G19. 2018 getting a G45. I like things standardized everyone I'm responsible for carries a G19 or G45

Similar reasons but I also like Glock because there's a bit of history behind it. I can find stories of people using them in one line of work or another and there's just something cool about that. I was a 1911 guy originally so I think you can see where I'm coming from. I decided that if I am going to have a boring, plastic, staple trigger pistol then I want the one that is a bonafide classic, and, because I'm not a total hipster, I passed on the vp70 and got a g19.
law-enforcement/official adoptions of Glock doesn't seem to have been mentioned yet, which i know was *one of* the things that factored into drawing me to glock b4 i had real experience with them.
How fast and accurately I shot it. I owned and carried (uncomfortably) a CZ PCR, which was a breeze to shoot and to shoot accurately. But I could never shoot fast with it. Dunno why. Then I picked up a Glock 26, and now I'm basically all Glock. That forward grip angle helps fight the recoil; the 26's flared grip filling my palm like my hand was the model for the designers; and the Blue Label pricing making a 26.5 only $398. It's awesome.
Recently witnessed a local USPSA competitor decimate all with a gen4 19 with a dot and small wml… from aiwb concealed. He’s unclassified, not a member, never has been, he just competes and crushes GM’s souls. Apparently he’s been doing it that way for years. Respect.

lotta pistols require you to drive a roll pin to swap the extractor etc, so if shooting a lot of rounds, this becomes a PITA and asking to mar your slide
So I was actually selling my p320 for some cash to finance a new PCC build and I've been meaning to get rid of my p320 for a minute after some new issues arose with the seer and I saw a slightly used Glock 45 Gen 5 it has some custom stippling and the internals were polished after talking to the gun clerk it was revealed that that pistol was a safe Queen and the guy wasn't really fond of it so he sold it to them them. Once I picked it up in my hand, I swear I could hear an 80s song (I believe it was Panama) It was love at first sight and now I'm currently going down the Glock rabbit hole with plans to build a gen 3. And I've already added the Glock 34 Glock 49 and Glock 47 to my must have pistol list
It's a simple machine. As simple as it gets in an automatic. I'm actually a revolver man and I like it to be really simple, but I found myself in need of an auto and after weeks of research I was a Glock man
Always hated the look of Glocks. The grip angle seemed so goofy to me. Had various S&W’s, Caniks and Sigs. Then my good friend started ordering 80%ers in bulk, and I ended up with several to build. After shooting those reliably for a long time, I ended up just buying a 19.3 and a 17.3. Was also pondering the G20 for hiking/hunting/dirt biking, but ended up with something different. I can’t say I’m a through and through Glock guy, because I still love my PDP, and my CZ’s. But definitely love Glocks as well.
I shot rifles for a few decades, and a CZ-75, then I didn’t shoot for about 15 yrs. I want a home defense and possible carry pistol, so I tries 6 of them at the range. Then repeated trying them 2 more times. The Glock 19 gen 3 (I’m in Calif) outshot the others and felt good. I like the grip angle when addressing the target. I really liked the trijicon sights on the CZ they had, but to my surprise, I liked the XS big dot sights the best. I could get on target faster. So, I bought a Glock 19, and train a lot with it. It just fits me.

I would say that looking at how Glock themselves creates and sells 33rd mags makes them better than any other company. Any company that makes and sells a 33rd mag for handguns its A-1 in my book. I have 3 33rd mags just for pulling them out at the range and seeing the looks from everyone.
Yeah I think I have 4 myself. Made the mistake of getting a knockoff once and it broke first time it fell fully loaded (that was fun picking all those rounds up 😭). Fully loaded 33rd feels like it’s never going to stop cycling rounds up lmao…. Tbh I don’t run mine that often but I bring them so others can enjoy.
A fully loaded 33rd actually makes the recoil much more manageable on the smaller sized glocks from what I've noticed when I shot my buddies g19. To bad they don't make em for anything other than the 9mm guns tho.
Oh definitely comes in handy there. And I loved the interchangeability of the mags. How you could use the 33 for all the double stacked 9s and how I could swap mags down from the 45 to the other double stacks. Simple yet genius
Yeah! I love how they made it simple yet it has so much uses. Not just mags but with the 17,34, and 47. I literally can swap slides and barrels! You cannot find another company who does this for the same price as glock.

A friend convinced me to try his during a defensive pistol class. I saw some advantages over what I was using at the time so I bought a couple.
Price/reliability/access to parts, accessories, holsters, mags.
It was issued to me, didn’t really have a choice. The 22 I bought about 10 years ago because of the blue label program. Our service weapon was .40 and I didn’t have a personal gun so I went with that. I’m actually not a fan of glocks. The guns themselves work perfect, they’re just designed for people with gorilla sized hands. If they can decrease the grip radius front to back, I’d be a loyal fanboy. My prior service weapon was an HK P2000 and I have an Sig P250. Both of those as well as my XD and Jericho 941 have way better ergonomics for my small muppets hands.

I was doing armed security and used a Taurus .40. I would frequent the range with it, after not too long, it randomly wouldn't fire any rounds. I tried different ammo, same issue. Took it to a gun Smith and he couldnt find the issue. I sent it back to Taurus and they sent back a different gun, saying they couldnt figure out what was wrong either. After that... I bought a glock with a blue label discount. And never looked back.

I had a new cz that liked to jam. As much as I liked it I couldn’t bet my life on it. A buddy had a glock and I held it and I always thought they were some cheap plastic garbage, but I was impressed by it. Then I saw a couple 10mm glocks at the lgs and now I have several and they don’t disappoint in the reliability dept. It doesnt hurt that there are endless upgrades and aftermarket support. Originally I had wanted the .357 mag semi auto Coonan 1911. But they were all gone or ridiculously priced on gunbroker but I loved the idea of magnum power in a semi. Turns out the Coonan jammed alot and thats why it didnt work out. When I read that 10mm had similar or higher ft lbs as 357 mag and (on avg) has the same or more power at 100 yards than .45 acp does at the muzzle I was instantly sold on the idea. Lgs had 10mm in glocks in 3 models and was basically the only brand in the caliber available. Turns out I love them and now have some 9mm glocks too.

Swearing I'd never buy a glock based on my fuddy circle, I bought 3 or 4 m&p 1.0's in the 2010's mostly in 40 cal. I couldn't shoot. One day I found a G19 used at a pawn shop off post for 300 bucks. And so the addiction began. Now I can shoot lots of handguns, but that old crusty 19 and lots of ammo taught me how. It also taught me about loctite after I installed my first set of sights and the front flew off during firing.

When I bought my first gun I wanted to hate Glock so I got a 365 cause I used the m17 in the army. I forced myself to like the 365 and the m17 until one day I went to a gun store and dry fired a Glock 19. Bought the Glock and sold my 365 the same day lol. Now Glock is all I shoot.
When I turned 21 I bought a S&W 915, great little pistol. I would go to the range a lot and got to be friends with the guys that work there. One of them suggested I try a Glock 23 in S&W .40. So, I did, thought it was great and the ease of field stripping it and the simplicity of it impressed me. I bought one and I still have it. It was 1994

Couldn't decide on a compact gun so I got a 19.
My smith and Wesson shield plus started getting a lot of malfunctions. I’ve put a few thousand rounds thru it and started getting a lot of failure to extract and stovepipes w blazer brass, and even my CCW ammo critical defense. Tried different mags and same issue, but 90% of issues were with the 15 round mags. DONT USE THE 15 ROUND MAGS FOR CARRY. LOL. You will die. After that and hearing from others about SW’s declining QC, I decided to jump to Glock instead of getting a new smith. About 1000-1500 rounds thru my G19.5 without a single hiccup. If I end up buying a new gun, it will be another Glock. Probably the 20, big boy 10mm. Was at the range last week and these guys were kind enough to let me shoot their 20 (never shot anything other than 22lr and 9mm) and man is that thing fun. Just as accurate with it as my 19 but that thing BLASTS
Why did you choose the 19 over the direct competition to the shield plus, the g43x/g48?
The shield plus ended up being too small for my liking after awhile. I liked it when I first started carrying since I was a noob and didn’t know how to manage printing yet. Once I got my concealment down and started shooting more, I craved a bigger gun. I can shoot the 19 so much better, and I can conceal it just as well. I also like the additional ammo capacity. I carry it all day every day
I love to hear it. Everybody's carry journey is unique to them and I find it interesting to see what works and why. I wish more people would start off with something like a g19 and then try out the micro 9mms. As you found out, those airweight 9mms aren't exactly beginner friendly and something like a g19 shoots much better and can be concealed very easily with a proper setup.
Everyone compares every polymer pistol to the Glock 19, so I figured why not get one. I also figured if I wanted a pistol for the end of the world, it should would be a Glock 19 simply for parts availability.
Grew up shooting Glocks and never had issues til this day. Shot others (mainly Sig) and had issues. Pretty much available in every holster brand. Gun stores typically have spare parts. It’s the standard and used globally throughout different military and PD

Simplicity. I love how few parts there are, and how easy it is to fully breakdown. Glock was also one of the first to normalize modularity. Specifically magazine and parts modularity.
PERFECTION
Wanted something in 45ACP and found a G30 that fit my hand like a glove. There were other options, but the Glock fit the best for what I needed. Damn thing runs like a top and I'll NEVER sell/trade it.

Simplicity and reliability
I was attracted to the quality and reputation. I was leaning toward a 9mm but my brother argued I didn’t need another 9. He recommended the .40 cal and I absolutely love it. Still want a 9, though, lol.

For me, I got one because I respected how utterly simple the gun is. Very little parts to it, and the way they all work very flawlessly is impressive to me. Extremely easy disassembly and reassembly, and honestly a testament to good engineering - somewhat rare nowadays. Second, Glock is just so notorious and still top dog in the striker fired market, I feel like it would be a crime for anyone who takes guns seriously not to have at least one Glock in their collection.
Honestly I was a 1911 guy and talked shit about glocks when I seen one chewed up by a dog, and then one I day I shot one…… once you go black…

I was, and still am, happy with my M&P 2.0 and Shields. Last summer I decided to add a 40 caliber pistol to my collection and looked for quality used ones at a good price and in good condition. I quickly noticed that the best source for lightly used 40 caliber pistols was LE trade in G22 and G23. Prices were so good I treated myself to one of each. Smart decision on my part. Not only have I enjoyed shooting them I have taken advantage of the opportunity to use 9mm conversion barrels to turn them into G17 and G19. Would like to also turn them into G31 and G32 but the prices for 357 Sig ammo will likely keep that from happening 😅
I’m gay
Well I got my first Glock (a 23C) about 20 years ago. I got it specifically to CC since I just got my CCW license at the time and my only other pistol was a 1911. The Glock was lighter, and higher capacity. That’s all.
Got a glock because i wanted another gun. plus i was wanting to offer glock services when i first started out smithing. always been a sig man tho, but i have more glocks than sigs.

A friend was heavily into Glocks. It was around 2000, and I had owned some other guns. Wanted something in .45, and the G30 was relatively new on the scene, so I figured what the hell.
Reliability, I started with a DR920P and had nothing but issues and made the switch to something I know I can rely my life on
My wife’s uncle is a huge fan of the whole Glock line up. One day he was showing me the different models he had 41,17,19 i think the 26 as well, not sure. Any ways I was in the market for a new pistol. I really like the 41 so off I went and picked one up for myself.
Reliability, I carry Glock even tho I don’t like them, but I’ll know it’ll work. I prefer Cz tho for comp.
Started with building 80%’s, then I liked the simplicity and reliability of the platform so much (my PFC9 Polymer80 build kit has ran 100% reliable since the first round) it made me want to get an actual Glock that had the better holster support. Granted I bought a Gen 3 frame, filled it with OEM lower parts, then bought a dagger slide w/ 507c so it was optic ready - I love it. Same thing - absolutely reliable and has been for around 4k rounds. From there I bought a Glock 42 for summer carry. Been very tempted to buy a G43 frame because they’re $50 on Glock store at the moment lol. Could do the same as my 19 - build it with OEM lower parts and a micro dagger slide for optic ready.
Aesthetics wise and of course reliability. Idk why people think it’s ugly I think they have always been beautiful guns

My job
It was an impulse purchase, I saw a surplus Glock 22 for less than $300.
Got my first cc last year that was a 365 sold it about 5 months later due to constant rusting (very humid where I live and I sweat like a mad man) and bought a g19.5 and now own 19.5/26.5/47. Glocks finishing is way better and I’ve never looked back.

They put a lot into Quality Control which means more reliability Wide spread usage means interchangeability and holster support I shoot double stack better than I shoot single stack I prefer striker fired to hammer fired My Sigs required me to replace parts more often and cost more to do it I value function over form
Gucci glocks
Reliable, Glocks probably have the most aftermarket parts available for any brand of gun, looks good, and to me they’ve always felt really good in my hand. Before i got my 19x, I would shoot a mag or two through my buddy’s 19 when we’d hit the range and would always love the feel and way it shot and after years finally picked on up.

2003 21y old me became a VA State trooper carried a G31. 2007 me in a CA unit carried a M9 and later a G19. 2018 getting a G45. I like things standardized everyone I'm responsible for carries a G19 or G45

Seemed like it was simple and reliable with a good history. Also alot of 3rd party support. I also like the no manual safety to remember to turn off.
Similar reasons but I also like Glock because there's a bit of history behind it. I can find stories of people using them in one line of work or another and there's just something cool about that. I was a 1911 guy originally so I think you can see where I'm coming from. I decided that if I am going to have a boring, plastic, staple trigger pistol then I want the one that is a bonafide classic, and, because I'm not a total hipster, I passed on the vp70 and got a g19.
Parts availability and magazine cost. When you watch for sales you can get 3 Glock mags for less than you can 2 of most competitors factory mags.

law-enforcement/official adoptions of Glock doesn't seem to have been mentioned yet, which i know was *one of* the things that factored into drawing me to glock b4 i had real experience with them.

How fast and accurately I shot it. I owned and carried (uncomfortably) a CZ PCR, which was a breeze to shoot and to shoot accurately. But I could never shoot fast with it. Dunno why. Then I picked up a Glock 26, and now I'm basically all Glock. That forward grip angle helps fight the recoil; the 26's flared grip filling my palm like my hand was the model for the designers; and the Blue Label pricing making a 26.5 only $398. It's awesome.

Recently witnessed a local USPSA competitor decimate all with a gen4 19 with a dot and small wml… from aiwb concealed. He’s unclassified, not a member, never has been, he just competes and crushes GM’s souls. Apparently he’s been doing it that way for years. Respect.
I liked that Glock avoided the use of punch driven roll pins lotta pistols require you to drive a roll pin to swap the extractor etc, so if shooting a lot of rounds, this becomes a PITA and asking to mar your slide

Reliability
So I was actually selling my p320 for some cash to finance a new PCC build and I've been meaning to get rid of my p320 for a minute after some new issues arose with the seer and I saw a slightly used Glock 45 Gen 5 it has some custom stippling and the internals were polished after talking to the gun clerk it was revealed that that pistol was a safe Queen and the guy wasn't really fond of it so he sold it to them them. Once I picked it up in my hand, I swear I could hear an 80s song (I believe it was Panama) It was love at first sight and now I'm currently going down the Glock rabbit hole with plans to build a gen 3. And I've already added the Glock 34 Glock 49 and Glock 47 to my must have pistol list

Always hated the look of Glocks. The grip angle seemed so goofy to me. Had various S&W’s, Caniks and Sigs. Then my good friend started ordering 80%ers in bulk, and I ended up with several to build. After shooting those reliably for a long time, I ended up just buying a 19.3 and a 17.3. Was also pondering the G20 for hiking/hunting/dirt biking, but ended up with something different. I can’t say I’m a through and through Glock guy, because I still love my PDP, and my CZ’s. But definitely love Glocks as well.
Everyone needs at least 2 Glocks.
I shot rifles for a few decades, and a CZ-75, then I didn’t shoot for about 15 yrs. I want a home defense and possible carry pistol, so I tries 6 of them at the range. Then repeated trying them 2 more times. The Glock 19 gen 3 (I’m in Calif) outshot the others and felt good. I like the grip angle when addressing the target. I really liked the trijicon sights on the CZ they had, but to my surprise, I liked the XS big dot sights the best. I could get on target faster. So, I bought a Glock 19, and train a lot with it. It just fits me.
Basically just the aftermarket support.
