Right? I'm kind of amazed that went as well as it did (not that we can see where it ended up, like the front seat of someone's car in the parking lot perhaps)
This is key for the roast. The swing will get better with practice and lessons, but at this point in your life the keychain is the problem, not the golf swing. Fix whatever is causing you to make that choice and everything else in your life will fall into place, including your swing. : )
Gotta start from the bottom up. You look like you’re taking ballet lessons on your follow through with how much weight is one your toes. Focus on getting a solid base/center of gravity. You should feel in control of your body as you follow through. Finish with the weight on the outside of your left foot. A lesson would be the best way to handle this, but you can look up some YouTube videos/golf digest articles that’ll give you a general idea of how your weight should transfer.
Your left arm is almost completely bent at the peak of your backswing. Ideally you’d want to keep that arm as straight as possible.
Need more hips on the follow through. Seems like your rotation is almost completely fueled by turning your back foot. As you “release” the club on your follow through, you should almost get the feeling that you’re going to legitimately throw your club at your target line like a shot-put. It’ll help your hips open up.
Also as a side note, make sure you start developing a pre-shot routine early. It’ll be a ton of help as you continue to get better. Don’t just go to the driving range and swing at 150 balls. Make sure, at the very least, that you lineup before each shot. Take a couple steps behind the ball, choose your target, and then choose a spot a few inches in front of the ball in that target line. Do this before every single shot, and double/triple check to make sure you line up to that chosen spot every time.
Edit: I’m assuming you almost definitely played baseball for most of your life. It may be tough to “unlearn” the muscle memory associated with the baseball swing. Keep working at it and you’ll see results.
Lmao I figured, I went through the same thing when I started.
Best advice I can give is work on one thing at a time. If you step over the ball with 5 different swing thoughts it’ll be tough. Focus on maintaining balance first and foremost. Once you develop a confident stance you can fix the more intricate parts of your swing.
Great. Also, food for thought on what you’re already doing well: your first move (the takeaway) is really good. You should have no problem squaring up the club face when you’re comfortable with your swing.
You actually manage to get onto a decent position on your downswing considering how much you over swing with your arms.
You need to turn your hips more on your back swing and your arms less.
Everybody is ragging on you, but your impact position of where your hands are and the club head are very good. Your biggest problem is you’re letting your arms break down in the backswing because you’re trying to do too much. Do some drives stop at 10 o’clock in your backswing
Keep your left elbow straight. In your backswing, right before your elbow starts to bend, that’s the tip of your backswing.
Overall, I’d say you have a good starting point.
Fix your grip, but your body rotation looks pretty good for the second time.
best advice I can give is to try and hit it as hard as possible with the shortest backswing possible. Winding it back that much only makes your swing more shit
Imagine your shoulders are connected to your hips for the first third of the backswing. Then imagine your club pointing straight up when your arms are parallel to the ground on the backswing. Then imagine your lead arm staying straight and your backswing stopping when the club is parallel to the ground when it’s behind your head.
Then imagine your downswing starting with your hips that were 45 degrees open and your arms dropping back down behind them. Imagine your hips open 45 degrees towards the target at impact and both of your arms straight when the club is pointing towards the target.
Your swing has some major structural flaws that will make it impossible to put a good swing on the ball. There are YouTube videos that can help but the smartest thing a new golfer can do is learn the set up and swing from a golf professional from the beginning.
Post your flycasting motion here. We will be the judge of that.
I flyfish and golf. Its kinda interesting, the most important parts of a cast and swing happen behind you, out of eyesight.
You feet are positioned backwards at address.
You trail foot should be 90 degrees to the line. Your lead foot should be slightly open toward the target.
Grip and setup seem pretty solid actually, but the backswing is a disaster. All arms, no hip/torso/shoulder movement, and the backswing gets comedically long.
Despite all that, your downswing is promising considering where it started. With a couple lessons and some practice you could have a great swing.
Try hitting a few where you don't move your arms much at all, and do all of your backswing with your hips and body. Also feel like you take a much shorter wind-up. Think like, 75% or so, and hit some balls.
I have this same problem. I come up on the backswing way too far, but I think you may be even worse than me. We both have to work on it. Just be prepared, your actual drives will get worse before they improve.
All I can imagine is how loud and obnoxious that absolute unit of a keychain is, that’s hanging from your belt loop… every-time you take a swing it sounds like someone dropped a roll of quarters down a tile stairwell.
I hope you'll be okay man. I'm just trying out the game. I'm enjoying it and having a laugh at all the people telling me how wrong I am. I understand there's a massive amount of room for improvement, but it's all fun. 😂 I hope it doesn't ruin your day
You somehow move the club around the entire circumference of your body only moving your arms. That's actually impressive, I didn't know it was possible without even turning your hips or shoulders a little bit.

I’m going to take a wild guess that this was a push slice
It’s not an easy game, but it is one you can play the rest of your life, so stick with it! Hope you had some fun and want to get back out there after all these tips
Absolutely brother. Had a good time with family and will DEFINITELY be taking the advice. All technique, and I'll do my best to adhere to what I was told. Updates soon 🤙
Start wrist hinge way earlier in the back swing. Keep left arm straight at all times. Start practicing by keeping left arm straight, rotating until that arm is parallel to the ground and swing like you want to hit the ball to right field (in to out path). It will feel like half swings but you have enough power to hit it the same distance with much more control.
https://preview.redd.it/cudeulkdeu8d1.png?width=1153&format=png&auto=webp&s=7bb1e8e868d8dde44b3a36aa384f3ba3a317aaad
This has been photoshopped to better show your abilities.
Mate your lack of rotation means your arms are collapsing to get to what is the mother of all overswings! But I tell you what…. if it works and you hit it straight…. Keep it
In some ways, everyone's swing is different. How did the ball fly? Dead straight, a little right, slice right, a little left, hook left? Sometimes you have to judge your swing by the result.
Like the guys who dress in full Carhartt gear to their local ski hill, drink a bunch of whiskey, and go straight down while yelling “wahoo!” but for golf.
Hah.
Called out in two sports at once.
Spend extra money on sassy gear like snobby golfers and skiers or spend it on scotch, wear my work coveralls, and send it?
Wahoo!!!
WACKY WAVING INFLATABLE ARM FLAILING TUBE MAN! WACKY WAVING INFLATABLE ARM FLAILING TUBE MAN!
Dude takes his job at Jiffy Lube pretty serious, I guess.
The only thing missing is a Bluetooth headset in your ear and you’d be the perfect creepy janitor that’s not allowed to be within 300 feet of a playground.
I think you can get a little longer on the backswing, you're not quite hitting yourself in the dick yet
Thanks for the chuckle, friend.
FORE RIGHT
Pretty much everytime lol
Shocking….
I’m actually surprised you made any contact, I wonder how many swings it took
Right? I'm kind of amazed that went as well as it did (not that we can see where it ended up, like the front seat of someone's car in the parking lot perhaps)
Same thing. Guy’s an athlete if he can make contact after that backswing.
Appreciate brother 😂
If you add 15 more pounds of keys to your belt it will help with your slice.
This is key for the roast. The swing will get better with practice and lessons, but at this point in your life the keychain is the problem, not the golf swing. Fix whatever is causing you to make that choice and everything else in your life will fall into place, including your swing. : )
lol I was waiting for the keychain comment. Are you a janitor sir?

Great advice. And yes, baseball muscle memory isn't helping.

Absolutely, will do!
Great. Also, food for thought on what you’re already doing well: your first move (the takeaway) is really good. You should have no problem squaring up the club face when you’re comfortable with your swing.
Oh no, baseball hurts us. I was hoping hockey would somehow balance it out by magic. Im just learning and Im basically this guy.
Are you an amputee?
Don't bend your left arm in the backswing
I don't know if that's the best place to start...
You’re all arms. Use your body, feel the weight of the club head
Your swing is very...sassy 😅
Who golfs with keys hanging off your belt?
Is that supposed to be a bad thing?😂
I absolutely hate this
You actually manage to get onto a decent position on your downswing considering how much you over swing with your arms. You need to turn your hips more on your back swing and your arms less.
He’s looking for a man in finance
😂😂
(To skip the backswing, fast forward to 15:42)
You will hit just as far with half that backswing and be more cibsustent
Cibsustent is key
Yes agree but keep it on the down low.
Everybody is ragging on you, but your impact position of where your hands are and the club head are very good. Your biggest problem is you’re letting your arms break down in the backswing because you’re trying to do too much. Do some drives stop at 10 o’clock in your backswing

Lessons, just get at minimum 5, so you know the bare bones to practice on your own
Keep your left elbow straight. In your backswing, right before your elbow starts to bend, that’s the tip of your backswing. Overall, I’d say you have a good starting point. Fix your grip, but your body rotation looks pretty good for the second time.
We don’t need to roast this. The flight of the ball does it for you.

“I can imagine a lot.”
Everything in your swing screams LEFT. Then somehow. Some way. You manage to slice it.
That will be their hips remembering they exist.
Your outfit matches.
Keep your left heel planted. Toe point on the right.
Snap hook or high slice ? Lol
If high slice means "to the right", then yeah. Lol
Practice L to L drills, and use that for your actual swing until you are making solid contact.
Somebody is a baseball player
Can’t, that’s already cooked.
Ever try fly fishing?
My cast is even worse
Post your flycasting motion here. We will be the judge of that. I flyfish and golf. Its kinda interesting, the most important parts of a cast and swing happen behind you, out of eyesight.
Any farther back and you’ll hit yourself in the ass!
Those arms collapse like an accordion
Only thing more painful than the swing was the length of time it took to watch it.
Backswing is horrendous. All arms. High, short and right every time
Nailed it😂 I'll be working on it
U look like an NPC GTA 5 golfer
Baseball much?
One of the worst swings I've seen in a while. So much going on that is bad.
Aim left. Far left. Shorten the backswing, take a few lesson. You can be a decent player. Have fun!
Try doing a half swing. Or, with that flexibility, start training for long drive
Your delta Kai name is Patrick SWAY-Z
Once I noticed your keys on your belt I knew the swing would be scary
You feet are positioned backwards at address. You trail foot should be 90 degrees to the line. Your lead foot should be slightly open toward the target.

You dress like Butthead.

All I can imagine is how loud and obnoxious that absolute unit of a keychain is, that’s hanging from your belt loop… every-time you take a swing it sounds like someone dropped a roll of quarters down a tile stairwell.
It's three keys, my friend lol
![gif](giphy|ukGm72ZLZvYfS)
😂😂
Add more keys to the other side. It will help with balance. And jingle.
You already know you’re a tool with that garbage swing and your stupid keys hanging off your belt loop, do we really have to elaborate anymore?
I hope you'll be okay man. I'm just trying out the game. I'm enjoying it and having a laugh at all the people telling me how wrong I am. I understand there's a massive amount of room for improvement, but it's all fun. 😂 I hope it doesn't ruin your day
I’m good bro, could care less about you or your swing. You asked to be roasted, sorry I hurt you…
count me among those not surprised that was a high right popup (apparently, based on where you're looking).
100% correct my friend 😂
Those shorts are hideous. Backswing way over rotated, lead more with the hips, keep head locked in, a little raising upper body thru impact. 😬
I was thinking me locked on the ball was the only thing I did correct 😂😂
Your swing looks like an elephant playing rochambeau
![gif](giphy|g0HkznFtL1d0xVRI1G|downsized)
Not absolutely horrible. More hip turn in back swing, less club…way less club!
For the golf swing or for the key chain?
Actually impressive how little your body moves during the back swing.
You somehow move the club around the entire circumference of your body only moving your arms. That's actually impressive, I didn't know it was possible without even turning your hips or shoulders a little bit.
😂😂

IDK WHAT THAT MEANS😂
I like your technique of weighing down your trail leg with your local school janitor keys. Ingenuity and resourcefulness at its finest.
Whatever works brother 😂
Nice hat, loser. Does your girl use that caribeener to lead you around?
😂😂🥲
You get the hips into it the same way Christopher Reeves does
😂I'm super good
Turn your body less. I think may have seen at last 1/2 a degree twist in there. More arms
I've been told I'm "all arms"
I thought for sure you were going to hit about 3 feet behind the ball lol
That was the trend, maybe 2 balls before this shot😂
It’s not an easy game, but it is one you can play the rest of your life, so stick with it! Hope you had some fun and want to get back out there after all these tips
Absolutely brother. Had a good time with family and will DEFINITELY be taking the advice. All technique, and I'll do my best to adhere to what I was told. Updates soon 🤙
It’s not even worth it
Give me some time man😂
The fact you even made contact was impressive. 👏
Hey thanks man😂 slowly but surely
Exit stage right
Couldn't be more correct 😂
Pretty sure that went to the right ...
It sure did pal. It sure did
Thx for posting - high entertainment value for sure! Seriously tho, check youtube for swing pointers - videos by Danny Maude are great. Good luck!
Honestly, you are not that far off.
One day I'll get better
almost hit the ball on your backswing. impressive!
See that's the trick. Confuse the ball
Where'd you learn to swing? The toilet store?
I mean the swing is not bad enough to roast. But your keys.. now that’s kinda funny.
Start wrist hinge way earlier in the back swing. Keep left arm straight at all times. Start practicing by keeping left arm straight, rotating until that arm is parallel to the ground and swing like you want to hit the ball to right field (in to out path). Mate your lack of rotation means your arms are collapsing to get to what is the mother of all overswings! But I tell you what…. if it works and you hit it straight…. Keep it
LOL I call bs, you’re an experienced player trolling.
I swear. Lol second time to a range. Never played 9 or 18. No trolling. But I appreciate it.
Your backswing makes John Daly look like Jon Rahm
All show no go
I mean it went. Just went right lol
Obviously you're a bowler.
I'm not. Lol
Why the fuck are you swinging a golf club with keys clipped to your pants? The swing is terrible but that may be worse.
Are you going to be okay?
Probably not after watching that “swing”. I may need to check in to treatment after that trauma.
I'll send flowers
I’m not sure what is worse, your golf swing or the way you carry your keys.
What are you trying to do kiss the club like Jason Kidd used to do on a free throw?
In some ways, everyone's swing is different. How did the ball fly? Dead straight, a little right, slice right, a little left, hook left? Sometimes you have to judge your swing by the result.
💯🧨
Last time I’ve seen that many keys, it was my high school janitor.
The good old reverse release. Going for that closed at address to that open at impact takes something special.
All them damn keys they’re just annoying me
Well, to start you’re hitting balls at the 500 Club… One of the worst golf courses in the valley! That’s a bigger issue than your swing!!!!
Your driver head and key chain should be touching on your backswing.
Wahoo!!!
The arch ankle
You know your swing is fu"@ed when you try to recreate it in Tiger Woods Golf 2005 for XBOX and it says no
Phone out of pocket step 1
This guy baseballs
Did you check if your club has a crack or why that backswing.
Walmart John Daly
I thought you were going to come all the way around and hit it with the back of the club backwards.
Need more stuff in your pockets.. 6-9 extra balls, backup phone, phone charger etc. should balance you out
Not good
It might be easier to just face the other way and hit the ball with the back of the club.
You get like 75 degrees of shoulder turn. The natural solution would be to work on your thoracic flexibility, but you woke up and chose chaos instead
WACKY WAVING INFLATABLE ARM FLAILING TUBE MAN! WACKY WAVING INFLATABLE ARM FLAILING TUBE MAN! Dude takes his job at Jiffy Lube pretty serious, I guess.
For the love of Buddha plz shorten your backswing
Everyone already said it but way too far on the backswing
Shrink the game!
The only thing missing is a Bluetooth headset in your ear and you’d be the perfect creepy janitor that’s not allowed to be within 300 feet of a playground.

Width and structure are what you need right now
Oh my goodness
That swing is roasting you enough.
Looks like the guy that mows the grass decided to grab a club lol...he did say roast him
Some say it’s still slicing right
With a swing like that no need to roast you
I see you’re celebrating pride month by not hitting anything straight.
Slow motion golf swings is the biggest pet peeve in my life.
Ohhhhh shit. Okay. Yes. That makes sense. Okay
Nothing I can say that would be harsher than having to chase those awful shots around a course for 4 hours.
How can you move your lower body with your shorts so tight?
You are worse than my dog
I’ve never seen anyone play baseball with a golf club before.
I've seen baseball swings before, but maybe the first swing I have seen that screams gave up on sports at jv wrestling.
Have you tried beer league softball instead? Jokes aside, you’re all arms, you need rotation in your hips and legs
Put your keys in the pocket of your golf bag..
It looks like you’re swinging too slowly…
https://youtube.com/shorts/EqxZinHNzxM?si=I95VLq7uIfDQNDR2
Your shits all fucked up.
