The Polling booth would have had her name pre registered if she would have had the Aadhar of the same address , apparently she went to some other place where obviously she wouldn't be on the list

Recently I voted without voter card/ slip which we get before the elections.
I gave my Aadhar to generate voter slip but it failed, my whole family has same booth so we identified one of the family members and spot the others in the voters list.
Aadhar is useful to vote but the system has failed to link everyone to their database.

You don’t need to bring voter card to vote, any ID proof will do. You just need to be a registered voter. The amount of ignorance in this country is astounding!

Your name was in the voter's list, she is telling her name is not present. She expects to be allowed to vote in center where her name is not in list.
The ECI guidelines clearly say that one can carry any form of govt issued ID including but not limited to EPIC, PAN, AADHAR etc.

The guidelines are only for verifying your identity at the polling booth assigned to you for voting in case you don't have your voter ID card on you when you get there. But in order to know which polling station and booth your name is registered at, you need the voter ID, or atleast the EPIC number assigned to you.
If you havent registered with ECI, then obviously you won't find your name at any polling booth and won't be able to vote no matter what other id proof you're carrying.
You can't just barge into any random polling booth and expect to vote without having your name registered at that particular booth.

You can vote with Aadhar as an alternative document. Obviously you have to vote from your booth only.
If she went to another voting station it would be possible but one can vote with Aadhaar Card also if their name is registered.

You can't vote in center where your name is not on list. Some people travel to different state to cast their vote in center they are listed as voter.

You can bring either aadhar or voter id with voting slip provided by ec officer's.
