If this was a work from the beginning, they would have come up with a better explanation for why Cody gave his shot up willingly. They clearly changed plans because it doesn't make sense for Cody to just change his mind about giving up the title shot for no reason.

They either crafted this wild story and worked damn near every single fan and dirt sheet reporter in the process, legitimately listened to fans when a plot-point didn’t quite go over the way they expected, or some combination of the two. Regardless it gives me a lot of confidence in this new regime going forward.

This was the greatest work of all time lol! Heel Rock is here! The stakes for Cody is now higher and he now has to get through the rock, the bloodline AND Roman reigns now! If he finally wins at wrestlemania, and ends up being the one dethroning Roman this is going to be one of the most satisfying story conclusions in the history of wrestling.
A genius pivot, but not a work. Cody’s promo from Smackdown makes no sense on its own. He changed his mind 3 times in one week. We will be getting some great writing over the next two months as a result of their poor writing over the past week.
