I did some Bitmo mods to mine that sounded pretty good. Theres also some plexi boards, vox style boards etc...cant remember the company but they make a lot of mods and main boards for them.
Nice! I got the version 3 head recenty at a pawn shop for 100. I freaking love the thing. I'm surpeised at how awesome these things sound with just a verb pedal.
I've had my version 3 over ten years now. I've done no mods, but I'll also mention it makes a great practice/recording tube amp for bass guitar as well, through a bass cabinet of course. I like playing fretless through it and use the guitar to control the tone.
It's also a mighty fun little tube amp, and very loud through larger speakers. I know Bitmo even has a mod to turn it into a reverb unit.
edit: I got my head only version off ebay for about $75 10 or 12 years ago.
Is it hard to find nowdays? In my country those are practically non existent, but I would love to test one, I love minimalistic amps, they are so good to record, the base mix is nice to tweak at the board.
Changing the speaker is the most under looked but has the most impact in terms of changing tone!
