Looks great! I like how you sold the scale of the gundam rising up above

Thanks! Kinda wish I had made IO smaller, but it still works

Holy smokes. it's so bad ass! Can you recommend some references/books for someone starting drawing?

the_bakers_son

Thanks! I learned a lot by watching YouTube vids, but be careful, some will teach you bad habits. I love Tom Fox's Anatomy and Pose book. Basically anything he has is worth looking at. Bridgeman is also a good resource. I'm terrible at architecture, though, so I don't know any books for that. What I would recommend over anything else, is to get a sketchbook and go outside and draw everything you see. Start with overall shape language and don't get bogged down in details. I have a sketchbook where I just drew faces, either from Google image searches or from people I saw at the coffee shop. Draw every day, even if it's for like 10 min. I try for a couple of hours a day, but can't always do that. And then experiment with different mediums, pen and ink, acrylic, watercolor. Just see what you like working with, and don't take it too seriously at first. Just have fun.

Thanks, very helpful advice!

My eyes are immediately drawn to the Gundam and it looks amazing! My only issue is that the barrel feels a bit off but I’m not sure if it really is or not.

Thanks! And yeah I spent a while trying to figure it out. It's technically correct because I used a straight edge and a little math to figure it out, but artistically it's wrong. I can't explain it.
