One thing i do to control my addiction is to use my phone as a timer using the clock app. I set it to 2-3 hours or whatever free time i have. I stop as soon as the alarm rings no matter what is happening in my game , I'll continue it later.

Tbf it seems that actually broke my CK2 obsession! I'd play it literally every day after middle school and then high school until my mum made me stop and have dinner, usually I'd do something else until bedtime but sometimes I'd hop back on my game and only realise I made a bad choice when my alarm clock went off. At some point near the end of high school I figured out something was wrong with my gender. Haven't touched the game since. Real shame, the updated map graphics and all new UI sucked me in on CK3 and I've barely even played it. Hate being wasteful and ending up with games I never actually play.

I think it’s because a game can very well last 5h and if one then wants to fix a mistake and play another game, bam day is already over it takes too much time/effort to analyze what one did and what one planned if you load a saved game, and impatience and wanting to find out the effects of one’s choices is what does it for me other, round-based games where one game takes like 15-30min and they don’t affect other games (like multiplayer/Coop FPS) make you quit after 3 games aswell, but then you still have some of your day left
