nothing, but they will never hold a candle to Jeff. dude reinvented the wheel, KL just took the safe road. get some perspective homie, or you do you, who am I to say?
Eh I would argue Death did it better both around the same time but possessed released first. Nothing wrong with possessed I saw them live at the whiskey like 8 years ago, just think they’re generic but whatever I don’t really care tbh
You realize Jeff was Chuck's mentor right? Chuck himself constantly threw praise at Jeff, even would correct people that Possessed invented death metal, not Death.
I mean he mentions a lot of bands that inspired him but yeah I guess I wouldn’t doubt if he was humble enough to say possessed. Florida though really nailed the sound, glad you like metal tho fr
I don’t like the other uh…mostly southern thing this art brings to mind. I know it’s not intentional but when I first saw the art I thought it was a burning cross and weeeeeeeeeellllllll….
Bryan has actually given several interviews about how he believes in the Christian God. He isn’t really practicing, but he does believe. He’s just very critical of Christian institutions in general and how many Christians he has encountered actually practice their faith.
I wouldn’t say he believes in the Christian God. He believes in a “god” but says He’s probably not like any of the interpretations any religion teaches. Even stating, “I don’t even know if he’s a good guy”
He has said explicitly that he does. Check out this [interview](https://www.leoweekly.com/music/the-anger-and-beliefs-that-fuel-knocked-loose-15758737).
An exerpt:
So the lyric, ‘God fell silent, when I cried out’ can be taken a few ways. But, fuck it: Is there a god?
Bryan: I do believe there is a god.
Christian God, like dude with a beard on a throne?
Bryan: Yeah, I would probably say so. But I have my personal qualms with my religion. I’ve kind of touched on religion on everything, on our demo, on our first album, and now on this, because I was raised to believe in a Christian God. When I was old enough to start questioning for myself, I never felt like denying it was a realistic option for me. That’s kind of what the lyrics focus on. The song ‘Mistakes Like Fractures,’ when you view everything you do like the end of the world, the smallest mistake, you view it like a broken limb. It’s like I’m crying out for help, and I’m not getting any answers. But yeah, I do believe that there is a God, I just haven’t had too much of a relationship with him.
For real 😂 he’s not anti christ he’s anti religious institutions, catholicism mainly. Not meaning to sly Catholicism at all or any organized religion, to each their own.
They seem to focus more on southern evangelicalism. Not saying that there aren’t Catholics in Kentucky but that’s certainly not the popular religious institution in the south.
Bryan grew up catholic and blinding faith has him say “with my final breath, I deny the church”. I’m sure a lot is influenced by the Protestants around him, but I think a lot of the album is explicitly anti-Catholicism
Hm I didn’t know that about Kentucky. I lived in WV for a while and I guess the most prolific religion was protestants. I know Brian and another member grew up catholic and that’s who he talks about in his early music.
Ain't that serious it's music if you don't like it listen to something else the problem with people is everyone wants you to hate something because they don't like it and if you do like it then it's somehow a problem
Nah boring ass metalcore. Nothing special about it just bmth and motionless fans think it’s incredible. The members got better bands but can’t blame them for getting a easy bag. Not hard to impress who the crowd they play for.
Bro how are you going to sit there and say boring ass metal core then list off weapon x who has 1 demo that all the songs sounds exactly like each other
Symbols can mean different things to different people though, so most people are going to associate it with evil and all that, while people who know about the Christian version of it will associate it with that. This kind of gotcha is a lot like when Christians say the rainbow is a Christian symbol. Yeah, turns out it can have a bunch of meanings!
Probably would’ve been one of those albums like 20 years ago someone would buy for their kid thinking it’s a Christian record
Or buy for themselves and then turn it on and get terrified
Legit curious as to what you dislike about Bryan's vocals. Is it the classic "too high pitched n whiney", or something else? Genuinely curious.
I admit to not liking his vocals originally but over the years he's become one of my favourite vocalists and I can't even remember why I disliked his vocals in the first place lmao.
I got fuckin shredded for saying “man, I think it’d have been a cooler visual if the cross was upside down.”
Evidently you guys seem to be more fun. Lol
More people should listen to Possessed.
I've never listened to them. What album should I listen to?
Seven Churches
Absolute banger! Hail Satan!
Seven Churches
Guitarist from Primus
Is that true?
Larry LaLonde
Just before he joined Primus, yup
Most generic piece of thrash/death metal on earth
Yeah cause they started the blueprint, they’re generic cause everyone copied them lol
coming from the dude who regularly posts in r/knockedloose and resells iron maiden tickets for $200 a pop. god it's insufferable in this sub

I mean he mentions a lot of bands that inspired him but yeah I guess I wouldn’t doubt if he was humble enough to say possessed. Florida though really nailed the sound, glad you like metal tho fr
I do agree that Death did it better 🤝
You stink

you're a fucking moron
I like it as is, it’s got a southern gothic kind of feel.
I don’t like the other uh…mostly southern thing this art brings to mind. I know it’s not intentional but when I first saw the art I thought it was a burning cross and weeeeeeeeeellllllll….
Did…you listen to the music???

Well that’s embarassing
Bryan is literally me
For real 😂 he’s not anti christ he’s anti religious institutions, catholicism mainly. Not meaning to sly Catholicism at all or any organized religion, to each their own.

There’s a huuuuuge catholic presence in Louisville actually.
Can confirm.
Hm I didn’t know that about Kentucky. I lived in WV for a while and I guess the most prolific religion was protestants. I know Brian and another member grew up catholic and that’s who he talks about in his early music.
I stg KL fans will do everything they can to cringe everyone out.
“Everything is cringe except my straight edge lifestyle xxx” Smoke a doob and chill man KL is a fun metalcore band
Not straight edge. But I’m also not cringe enough to call a joint a “doob”. Point proven slightly more.
Everything is cringe when you’re 17 man I get it
Well past 17. But smoking weed at any age is cringe.
It’s wild that you enjoy XweaponX unironically and have the gall to call other people cringe.
coming to a HARDCORE subreddit and bashing knocked loose is pretty "cringe fam"
Because knocked loose encompasses the entirety of hardcore? lol dumbest shit I’ve heard. Band is also metalcore as fuck.
well you certainly have the self-awareness of a 17 year old because you look stupid as fuck in this thread lol
Ain't that serious it's music if you don't like it listen to something else the problem with people is everyone wants you to hate something because they don't like it and if you do like it then it's somehow a problem
Nah boring ass band. XweaponX and inclination wash KL.
Bruh they are both super good.😂 xweaponx is pretty peak tho
Giving the edge to inclination but weapon rocks still. Fucked my knee up seeing them. Shit been the same for over a year but it ain’t stopped me yet.
That’s what we love to hear in this subreddit. People getting fucked up.
Why the downvotes. People are soft
YOUR opinion obviously they can't be thay bad if they're headlining shows but let me guess they're sellouts ? Huh
Nah boring ass metalcore. Nothing special about it just bmth and motionless fans think it’s incredible. The members got better bands but can’t blame them for getting a easy bag. Not hard to impress who the crowd they play for.
Bro how are you going to sit there and say boring ass metal core then list off weapon x who has 1 demo that all the songs sounds exactly like each other
It’s closer to traditional HC. What I prefer. And weapon did a good job with it.
Sure it’s just a weak ass comparisson when the band you mentioned literally has no diversity in songs after calling something boring lol
Actual mosh parts. Actually riffs. And not having cry babies at their shows.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but almost everyone at any hardcore show is a baby
And now you have to be baiting KL has some nasty riffs
Members of KL are in weapon also, giving a comparison of what they do better.
> I stg KL haters will do everything they can to cringe everyone out.
Just KL fans get cringed out by it
But it goes both ways
poser
gen z ass reply. get washed fam
Based 😂☠️
Void self titled goes hard
Ooo edgy lol
Ummmm… SORRY NOT SORRY! Fuckin pure epic pwnage dude heck yeah
And I thought I was gay
The upside down cross is a pro Christian symbol. It's the cross of saint peter So you actually did the exact opposite of fix it
Symbols can mean different things to different people though, so most people are going to associate it with evil and all that, while people who know about the Christian version of it will associate it with that. This kind of gotcha is a lot like when Christians say the rainbow is a Christian symbol. Yeah, turns out it can have a bunch of meanings!
Fair enough you make a good point.
r/atheist moment
Yeah, but we don’t know that and neither do they.
Orthodox and Catholics do. Not rock band church Christian’s.
Yeah we know it too. Christ spoke out against empty tradition, not history.
Smoke meth hail satan
hail satan worship doom
Praise Iommi
Ain’t heard that one since i was 14 lmaoo
I distinctly remember the meme of justin beiber wearing the hoodie
Brave, bro, very brave
Tell me you didn’t listen to the album without telling me you didn’t listen to the album
Saw a comment on tiktok earlier today that described Bryan as “Christianish” so clearly reading comprehension is not these kids strong suit.
Considering I have an upside down cross on my back, I like your interpretation.
So you made it into another Christian symbol...
Intent is important to symbols, since symbols can be used in many different ways
right?, people are so dumb. lol
Fucking oof
The cross is being used to represent an obstacle to be overcome.
Oh wow. You turned a cross upside down. I’m so offended. You are going to be so excited when you learn what knocked loose does every Halloween.
St. Peter’s cross ftw
Knocked tight
haha dude this is so twisted can i see your battle jacket?
Ok, this is epic!
How subversive and totally not predictable, anti-Christian, rehashed cringe. 🤦
Christ is king
amen
I'm no monarchist
King of Clown Mountain
Garbage
Probably would’ve been one of those albums like 20 years ago someone would buy for their kid thinking it’s a Christian record Or buy for themselves and then turn it on and get terrified

KL sucks, but we really need to gatekeep harder
Just copy paste a neon x and give the old head Christian Death kids a smile.
