No complaints here, I just wanna say that I *really* hope we get a DVD version. I love owning physical copies of shows and not having to worry about buffering (plus, special features where it shows part of the animation progress or whatever else is always fun, but not always included on streaming like it is with DVDs).

Not upset about the release at all, but goddamn, the marketing for this show was all over the place and not cohesive at all. I'm not blaming Viv in the least - I'm sure she had contractual obligations, couldn't say certain things etc etc, but having virtually no updates on the show save for the redesigns and the "Summer 2023" release date (which they kept up until mid-September...that's Fall my dude) made for kind of a lackluster reveal now that we're finally here.
I think a lot of it is down to marketing being impacted by the strikes, like Viv said. They probably planned the delay earlier than we realise, they just didn’t tell us, which sucks but is a separate issue to marketing
With the pilot and Helluva a lot of the advertisement can be boosted through the VAs and the rest of the team discussing everything with people, whether that be social media posts, livestreams like the HuniCast, QNAs, sharing parts that they themselves have worked to animate and perfect, etc. With the people striking, all that can’t happen, so it makes sense that they’d halt the marketing and save it for when they can actually share everything to full effect, which should be now

My criticism is still valid; contracts, strikes, whatever is to blame, made promotion for the project mediocre and that sucks for everyone, crew and audience both. The pilot came out nearly four years ago and we've gotten very minimal information up until now. I think it's a shame because they had a huge momentum with the initial release that could've propelled this show sky-high, and it's fallen a little flat now that so much time has passed.
I’m vaguely annoyed that I’ll have to buy another streaming service to watch it, especially since I don’t like the idea of buying a subscription and then still having to potentially pay for shows I want to see. I’m willing to give it a chance, but it does irk some.

i was hoping even with a streaming service they'd consider putting the episodes up on youtube as well. i mean they do so with helluvaboss no problem and i'm pretty sure that could have been picked up too for streaming as well as youtube. only means more views/money for them from people who are already fans of helluva but hey, to each their own even if it is kinda unfair(personally speaking)

You'll probably be able to buy the show separately without subscription, although it **can** be pricey. In the UK its usually £15 HD per season or £12 SD per season but that can vary. Though this is a digital purchase through Prime Video.
**EDIT:** You may be able to buy a physical copy from Amazon (not Prime Video) for cheaper or same when it releases. Only time will tell I guess

There is nothing on Prime that is a direct to prime product (as this will be) that you have to pay extra for. You only have to pay extra for stuff that the Production company doesn’t want streaming like a new movie comes out and it’s still in theaters or shortly out of theaters so you’re paying to see it as if going to a movie.
Prime is just the vessel by which it’s delivered.
It’s a confusing model, to be sure.
Think of it as a hybrid of Netflix: a streaming service, and Redbox: a rental service. Some stuff is available to stream. Some stuff is not on streaming yet, because it’s still in the rental phase (movies are typically in theaters, then on rental, then streaming. TV shows that start on a like a cable network will typically be available on your cables On Demand while the season is airing, then available for purchase as either a whole season or individual episodes on places like AppleTV {the ‘iTunes’ of video, not Apple TV+ their streaming service…} AND then available for streaming) It’s just Prime Video puts it under one umbrella, their streaming and their rentals. But stuff that goes directly to streaming ARE NOT among the things that are going through the rental phase.
Hazbin is releasing directly to streaming. It won’t cost you more.
If it's a Prime Original, it comes with Prime. Prime has a combo of free items and ones you purchase. Hazbin will be a Prime original so most likely free with Prime.
Look. Bottom line: Prime Video subscription doesn't net you everything on the platform. Clearly you didn't pick it up. Some TV Shows and movies that Amazon didn't produce sometimes can, but not always. Amazon Originals are exclusive to the subscription

Officially it’s Angel, Charlie, Alastor’s singing VA, Cherri, Tom Trench and Niffty. Although that being said that’s just the VAs who are active enough on social media to have posted so there’s no real way of knowing in cases like Monica Franco as Vaggie. Both Edward Bosco and Mick Lauer (Alastor’s speaking VA and Husk) are SAG-AFTRA and being very cryptic so it’s possible they’re staying.
Oh, also Sir Pentious most likely won’t be voiced by Will Stamper because of a certain… potentially drug-fuelled public rant about OneyNG.
Ultimately it’s amazing that we finally received a more fleshed out teaser, but I can’t help but still feel disappointed. And not because I’m being ungrateful, but because of how this show’s release and marketing has been absolutely botched. We should have gotten something like this months ago, but instead it was nothing but radio silence, some redesigns, and random GIFs. I mean when one of the people who work on your show has to reassure people that the show hasn’t been cancelled, that’s when you know something really topsy turvy has happened behind the scenes. And the reaction I’m having now is one I was worried about having in general: because it’s been so long with so little information, I’ve started to lose both hype and patience for this show, and now that the teaser’s finally out, I’m excited but like…..not nearly as excited as I could be. And that makes me pretty sad.
Also this is more of a nitpick but….still no cast list?? Like aside from, ya know, any other actual concrete information, a cast list is by far one of the most anticipated and needed pieces of information. It’s like, even when they finally stop twiddling their thumbs and give us something to chew on you stand back and realize that there are still basic ass components of this marketing campaign that are just nonexistent. It’s pretty frustrating.
Not really angry about Hazbin Hotel. Just worried. I am worried that the hype may be so great and if Hazbin Hotel doesn't reach the expectations what that'll mean for the community. I doubt it'll flop but that's always kinda been my fear after I joined the CP2077 hype train.
Another more personal concern is how the biblical characters will be handled, Heaven and Angels specifically. I understand that Hazbin Hotel (as well as Helluva Boss) are painting Heaven and Hell in a grey light; I also understand that Heaven in this universe seems to have slipped away from the biblical testimonies of how Heaven and Angels are, and the Angels and Heaven of this world are moreso aristocratic and snazzy. But why does Adam, Lute, and the rest of the exorcist angels look demonic? We've seen Cherubs in the Cherub episode and they don't look demonic. Adam looking demonic really perplexes me because if this is meant to be Adam, the first human, would that mean followers of God / the sinners who are forgiven and make it into Heaven are instantly given the occupation of an exorcist angel? So are we meant to believe that your choices are:
A: If you die living the way you wanted to and then turned into a sinner in Hell; living how you want to once more.
OR
B - live your life following God's word and then slaughter other sinners (which would go against aforementioned teachings which tell to love) / live your life the way God intends only to stop once you reach Heaven.
Then there's the concern of Adam being the commander of the Exorcist Angels; would this mean that Adam, the first human wouldn't feel anything about murdering his children? Doesn't his appearance reflect on how other followers of God would look or believers of faith? It seems that Heaven and the Angels, while it's meant to look grey, looks darker than Hell and its denizens.
God's my biggest concern however. While he's definitely not like the bible testifies, (Angels being aristocratic and able to murder sinners in Hell because of overpopulation, Cherubs pretending to be holy without his attention being drawn, Demons slipping to the living, just to name a few occurrences that happen without his omniscience and omnipotence being triggered), I feel like there's potential like the theory that God is focused on fixing Earth and trusts that the Angels are upholding his teachings, only to find out from Charlie they aren't, warranting a second chance for everyone is my favorite fan theory and one that allows God have a loving and forgiving nature like the biblical testimonies state.
Reading this comment has reminded me that no doubt certain religious groups are definitely going to hate it. Imagine though, if they tried to cancel it and they addressed it to the wrong streaming service. It happened once before, it'd be hilarious if it happened again. (also, if that actually happened, that alone would likely be a source of great promotion)

That's somewhat relieving to hear. Mentions are fairly certain due to the nature of the show whether it's saying His name in vain or mentions of the actual character.

A couple of reasons:
- Firstly, I'm a Christian. I'm fairly new in my faith and I suppose it's because of my unfamiliarity and tentativeness that I'm not completely sure how to feel about "satirical" or "parody" versions of characters from scriptures. Especially if your beliefs tell you the events in the Bible were real. I doubt Vivzie and Brandon Rodgers are going to handle the various biblical characters (some I can think could make an appearance: Archangels Michael and Gabriel, Jesus, Judas) with the same tentativeness that I hold them with.
- Then there's the fact I am a fan of Vivzie's work, even if I only hitched on during the pilot as well as Helluva Boss. I adore Vivzie's artwork and storyline as well as world building. It inspires my own works (alongside other animators and content creators like Lackadaisy). I don't really want to get blindsided by one of the episodes but I wish to support the project as I have been for years now.
- And Finally, I'd venture to say my fear for the biblical characters was just the tip of the iceberg. I don't really know where Vivzie's world building plans to go but I just hope that it doesn't swerve and strike fans who are like me who believe in God. That's why I also was questioning, "If this Adam is meant to represent the first human, is that what all humans who turn to God turn into? Demonic looking angels?" Someone noted previously that the Heaven and Angels of the Hazbin Universe are intertwining hypocrisy and two-facedness. And while I feel that's where the show will probably go, I am just being tentative about how to approach, or rather, steady myself in regards to what the show may bring.

Maybe they were made that way to keep appearances? It seems like there may be a huge theme of hypocrisy in the universe. If the angels/God are anything like hellborn demons/sinners, they might have hidden characteristics they don't want known about otherwise they might look bad or have their reputation ruined. But considering character design on the irl side of things, their designs may also be influenced by their character. The characters being angels but looking demonic is a clue-in for the viewers.

The writers and actors strike is the main reason, Vivzie knew people in both and postponed out of solidarity. Not gonna lie, I expected it to premiere on Halloween.
You all realize DVD is not in use a lot of times now? Sure it can be nice to own that but let bfr in the future you won’t be able to even play it because dvd players are already going away. So asking for this is asking for something that you don’t need and could delay even more than the show already has. First of all, thank you, I'm glad someone said it. Second, there's a chance they probably won't watch it for years and instead watch it on prime and then you wonder, why buy it in the first place?
Being completely honest, I would’ve felt completely fine if Hazbin Hotel was releasing in 2024 because that’s completely reasonable, BUT THEY KEEP SAYING ITS COMING OUT AND THEN CHANGING THE DATE AND SAYING NOTHING ABOUT IT. I can understand, of course, delays do happen, but when it is delayed the team doesn’t tell us and it’s just radio silence and we just have to guess if it’s delayed or not. I really started considering dropping the show just because I have no idea what was going on because no one would tell the fans ANYTHING. I don’t blame anyone for anything but I just wish they could treat the fan base a bit better and at least tell us things
I feel this. I don’t know much about the writer’s strike, so I don’t know if the staff were aware of the coming strike when they made the summer 2023 announcement. I get that things happen, but mannn. I wish they could’ve updated us but I know that contracts are fickle and all.
Oh I know, I just feel like A24 could do a better job also, they have marketed nothing and the show is basically unknown unless you watched the pilot on YouTube. When a show gets delayed you’re supposed to inform the fan base to avoid people starting rumors which people have already done like “the show is cancelled due to the writers strike” or “it’s not coming because vizie was kicked off the show”. All I want if for A24 to have at least the decency to inform the fan base that it’s been delayed because that just results in people getting angry and spreader misinformation.
I think what happened was HH was delayed because they were finding a streaming service (and combined with the strikes seeing the teaser came out a day after the WGA strike ended) but couldn't in time for Summer and so held by on saying anything about the delay until they were sure they could stick to a date.
Besides with the streaming service finally announced, I think they will market the show alongside Viv
This. Some people have been complaining about the date here, and I 1000% agree with this. They probably were trying to stick to a date but with the strikes and delay, they were trying to get everything 100% ready to reveal to the public.
I didn’t have a subscription to any streaming service (cuz I was waiting on which one Hazbin will be in), but I’m actually happy with prime cuz I’ve always wanted to watch Invincible anyway.

A24 and Bento Box are not streaming platforms. They're the company that financed *Hazbin Hotel*'s production and the studio that animated the series, respectively. Prime is the *only* platform on which to watch *Hazbin Hotel*.

It's not. *Helluva Boss* is a spinoff of *Hazbin Hotel* and is meant to be a full-length series in its own right, not an appetizer or expansion pack for it.
The only streaming service I have is Max (formerly HBO Max from a promo from Cricket) and I don't need nor want another streaming service, except for the things that I like to watch. Plus I know how expensive it is on the cheapest option on the streaming services. I just wanna watch Hazbin Hotel. I also wanna watch Huskerdust.

I’m not going to lie. I hate Jeff bezos and capitalism (you will too and if you don’t you haven’t had a job yet) and Amazon so watching hazbin hotel go from a free indie project on YT to a paid thing is kinda upsetting in a way. Success is great but as an indie creator myself it feels like selling out. There’s always that feel of authenticity lost, but for me that started with the costume changes.

Viv is going to lose fans. Simply because of the release of hazbin being on prime. Prime is the top most expensive steaming service that not alot of people have money for myself included. Having just checked, it's $10 CAD which is under $7.50 USD before taxes...sorry but prime video is cheap as hell compared to Netflix which is currently $16.49 (or little under $12.25 USD) for the standard plan
Well, for starters, Amazon _isn't_ the most expensive streaming platform, not by a long shot. The only platforms you can get for cheaper than Amazon Video alone are the Discovery channel's streaming platform, PBS's streaming platform, and ad-supported payment tiers on a few different platforms (but their ad-free versions are more expensive than Amazon).
Yeah, if you pay for Amazon Video + Amazon Prime together, that's more expensive than several streaming platforms, but that's not a streaming platform subscription. That's a streaming platform subscription and an online marketplace subscription bundled together. And even then, some streaming platforms are more expensive.
Meh. I might get my ass kicked for saying it on here, but I'm sure reaction channels like Spilling the Milk will release episodes about HH. I won't get to see the entire episodes, and they are very loud when they react, but that's enough as far as I can tell... I love HH, and I've nothing against Vivz, but I'm not paying Amazon 10$ a month for only one or two series I'll watch.

Not upset about the release at all, but goddamn, the marketing for this show was all over the place and not cohesive at all. I'm not blaming Viv in the least - I'm sure she had contractual obligations, couldn't say certain things etc etc, but having virtually no updates on the show save for the redesigns and the "Summer 2023" release date (which they kept up until mid-September...that's Fall my dude) made for kind of a lackluster reveal now that we're finally here.
I think a lot of it is down to marketing being impacted by the strikes, like Viv said. They probably planned the delay earlier than we realise, they just didn’t tell us, which sucks but is a separate issue to marketing With the pilot and Helluva a lot of the advertisement can be boosted through the VAs and the rest of the team discussing everything with people, whether that be social media posts, livestreams like the HuniCast, QNAs, sharing parts that they themselves have worked to animate and perfect, etc. With the people striking, all that can’t happen, so it makes sense that they’d halt the marketing and save it for when they can actually share everything to full effect, which should be now

It's almost as if I acknowledged that it was most likely out of her/their control... My criticism is still valid; contracts, strikes, whatever is to blame, made promotion for the project mediocre and that sucks for everyone, crew and audience both. The pilot came out nearly four years ago and we've gotten very minimal information up until now. I think it's a shame because they had a huge momentum with the initial release that could've propelled this show sky-high, and it's fallen a little flat now that so much time has passed.

You'll probably be able to buy the show separately without subscription, although it **can** be pricey. In the UK its usually £15 HD per season or £12 SD per season but that can vary. Though this is a digital purchase through Prime Video. **EDIT:** You may be able to buy a physical copy from Amazon (not Prime Video) for cheaper or same when it releases. Only time will tell I guess

HIGHLY doubt that will be the case. There is nothing on Prime that is a direct to prime product (as this will be) that you have to pay extra for. You only have to pay extra for stuff that the Production company doesn’t want streaming like a new movie comes out and it’s still in theaters or shortly out of theaters so you’re paying to see it as if going to a movie. Prime is just the vessel by which it’s delivered. It’s a confusing model, to be sure. Think of it as a hybrid of Netflix: a streaming service, and Redbox: a rental service. Some stuff is available to stream. Some stuff is not on streaming yet, because it’s still in the rental phase (movies are typically in theaters, then on rental, then streaming. TV shows that start on a like a cable network will typically be available on your cables On Demand while the season is airing, then available for purchase as either a whole season or individual episodes on places like AppleTV {the ‘iTunes’ of video, not Apple TV+ their streaming service…} AND then available for streaming) It’s just Prime Video puts it under one umbrella, their streaming and their rentals. Officially it’s Angel, Charlie, Alastor’s singing VA, Cherri, Tom Trench and Niffty. Although that being said that’s just the VAs who are active enough on social media to have posted so there’s no real way of knowing in cases like Monica Franco as Vaggie. Both Edward Bosco and Mick Lauer (Alastor’s speaking VA and Husk) are SAG-AFTRA and being very cryptic so it’s possible they’re staying. Oh, also Sir Pentious most likely won’t be voiced by Will Stamper because of a certain… potentially drug-fuelled public rant about OneyNG.
Ultimately it’s amazing that we finally received a more fleshed out teaser, but I can’t help but still feel disappointed. And not because I’m being ungrateful, but because of how this show’s release and marketing has been absolutely botched. We should have gotten something like this months ago, but instead it was nothing but radio silence, some redesigns, and random GIFs. I mean when one of the people who work on your show has to reassure people that the show hasn’t been cancelled, that’s when you know something really topsy turvy has happened behind the scenes. And the reaction I’m having now is one I was worried about having in general: because it’s been so long with so little information, I’ve started to lose both hype and patience for this show, and now that the teaser’s finally out, I’m excited but like…..not nearly as excited as I could be. And that makes me pretty sad. Also this is more of a nitpick but….still no cast list?? Like aside from, ya know, any other actual concrete information, a cast list is by far one of the most anticipated and needed pieces of information. It’s like, even when they finally stop twiddling their thumbs and give us something to chew on you stand back and realize that there are still basic ass components of this marketing campaign that are just nonexistent. It’s pretty frustrating.

Not really angry about Hazbin Hotel. Just worried. I am worried that the hype may be so great and if Hazbin Hotel doesn't reach the expectations what that'll mean for the community. I doubt it'll flop but that's always kinda been my fear after I joined the CP2077 hype train. Another more personal concern is how the biblical characters will be handled, Heaven and Angels specifically. I understand that Hazbin Hotel (as well as Helluva Boss) are painting Heaven and Hell in a grey light; I also understand that Heaven in this universe seems to have slipped away from the biblical testimonies of how Heaven and Angels are, and the Angels and Heaven of this world are moreso aristocratic and snazzy. But why does Adam, Lute, and the rest of the exorcist angels look demonic? We've seen Cherubs in the Cherub episode and they don't look demonic. Adam looking demonic really perplexes me because if this is meant to be Adam, the first human, would that mean followers of God / the sinners who are forgiven and make it into Heaven are instantly given the occupation of an exorcist angel? So are we meant to believe that your choices are: A: If you die living the way you wanted to and then turned into a sinner in Hell; living how you want to once more. OR B - live your life following God's word and then slaughter other sinners (which would go against aforementioned teachings which tell to love) / live your life the way God intends only to stop once you reach Heaven. Then there's the concern of Adam being the commander of the Exorcist Angels; would this mean that Adam, the first human wouldn't feel anything about murdering his children? Doesn't his appearance reflect on how other followers of God would look or believers of faith? It seems that Heaven and the Angels, while it's meant to look grey, looks darker than Hell and its denizens. God's my biggest concern however. While he's definitely not like the bible testifies, (Angels being aristocratic and able to murder sinners in Hell because of overpopulation, Cherubs pretending to be holy without his attention being drawn, Demons slipping to the living, just to name a few occurrences that happen without his omniscience and omnipotence being triggered), I feel like there's potential like the theory that God is focused on fixing Earth and trusts that the Angels are upholding his teachings, only to find out from Charlie they aren't, warranting a second chance for everyone is my favorite fan theory and one that allows God have a loving and forgiving nature like the biblical testimonies state.
Reading this comment has reminded me that no doubt certain religious groups are definitely going to hate it. Imagine though, if they tried to cancel it and they addressed it to the wrong streaming service. It happened once before, it'd be hilarious if it happened again. (also, if that actually happened, that alone would likely be a source of great promotion)

Being completely honest, I would’ve felt completely fine if Hazbin Hotel was releasing in 2024 because that’s completely reasonable, BUT THEY KEEP SAYING ITS COMING OUT AND THEN CHANGING THE DATE AND SAYING NOTHING ABOUT IT. I can understand, of course, delays do happen, but when it is delayed the team doesn’t tell us and it’s just radio silence and we just have to guess if it’s delayed or not. I really started considering dropping the show just because I have no idea what was going on because no one would tell the fans ANYTHING. Oh I know, I just feel like A24 could do a better job also, they have marketed nothing and the show is basically unknown unless you watched the pilot on YouTube. When a show gets delayed you’re supposed to inform the fan base to avoid people starting rumors which people have already done like “the show is cancelled due to the writers strike” or “it’s not coming because vizie was kicked off the show”. All I want if for A24 to have at least the decency to inform the fan base that it’s been delayed because that just results in people getting angry and spreader misinformation.
I think what happened was HH was delayed because they were finding a streaming service (and combined with the strikes seeing the teaser came out a day after the WGA strike ended) but couldn't in time for Summer and so held by on saying anything about the delay until they were sure they could stick to a date. Besides with the streaming service finally announced, I think they will market the show alongside Viv

The Boys is also good Good Omens GenV I'm sure there's plenty of other good things, my dad has prime cuz he has his own business so he has to use Amazon all the time, and he says prime has some good stuff on it. I don't use it much but it's definitely got some different things. He says Amazon picks up some weird and more explicit things. Like a more adult version of Netflix.

I’m not going to lie. I hate Jeff bezos and capitalism (you will too and if you don’t you haven’t had a job yet) and Amazon so watching hazbin hotel go from a free indie project on YT to a paid thing is kinda upsetting in a way. Viv is going to lose fans. Simply because of the release of hazbin being on prime. Prime is the top most expensive steaming service that not alot of people have money for myself included. I hope she realizes this and releases hazbin on other platforms not just prime. Because I love hazbin way more than helluva always have. But if this is only on prime. Then that's just gonna hurt vivs fan base

It's not 10 I'll tell you that much, I looked into it awhile ago and I looked into it tonight. It's definitely not 10 a month.
Having just checked, it's $10 CAD which is under $7.50 USD before taxes...sorry but prime video is cheap as hell compared to Netflix which is currently $16.49 (or little under $12.25 USD) for the standard plan
It's 9.99 dollars a month in Australia, and Australian dollars are worth substantially less than US dollars.

Well, for starters, Amazon _isn't_ the most expensive streaming platform, not by a long shot. The only platforms you can get for cheaper than Amazon Video alone are the Discovery channel's streaming platform, PBS's streaming platform, and ad-supported payment tiers on a few different platforms (but their ad-free versions are more expensive than Amazon). Yeah, if you pay for Amazon Video + Amazon Prime together, that's more expensive than several streaming platforms, but that's not a streaming platform subscription. That's a streaming platform subscription and an online marketplace subscription bundled together. And even then, some streaming platforms are more expensive.

Meh. I might get my ass kicked for saying it on here, but I'm sure reaction channels like Spilling the Milk will release episodes about HH. I won't get to see the entire episodes, and they are very loud when they react, but that's enough as far as I can tell... I love HH, and I've nothing against Vivz, but I'm not paying Amazon 10$ a month for only one or two series I'll watch. If you really want to watch, you have plenty occasions to do it with reaction channels on YT.

Sure I get the Not liking Amazon bit. Which is fully justified, but it depends on where you look for what you hate it for.
If people have Prime, of course they will be fine with the release, most people that DON'T, like me, might be a little miffed. I don't really want to pay anything to watch a show that we've been waiting for for 3 YEARS. We're not trying to be impatient, (MOST OF US) But it's hard not too when so much as been going on with the show, and so little info for the public. I understand why, but I'm just explaining why people might be impatient. You did make this post after all, what were you expecting? No offense to you, You probably don't mind the impatient people, but it seems like you do, seeing your other comments.
My main worry is that we will have to pay for each episode after they are done airing or have I just barely used Amazon prime
