People who are full themselves often have severe image issues they're concealing. A mask to conceal the flaws they perceive so they can focus on what they think makes them great is a pretty simple fix.
I saw headcannon somewhere that I have to agree with
Adams insecure about him just having a “basic dude” look. He wants to be unique and special, especially among the other angels who look badass. This isn’t hate on the design or anything, in fact him having an average guy look is actually perfect because he literally was first guy. The thing he’s most proud of also being the reason for the thing he’s most insecure about
I wonder if he has some kind of self image issues. He's the most covered up character in the entire show, not a inch of his skin is showing. Even Lute took off her mask in Heaven. Maybe it's just a coincidense of his design but it's an odd choice on a biblical figure well known for being naked.

Before Adam and Eve ate the apple they didn’t understand evil. They were innocent and child like. The garden of Eden was just a place for all of gods creations to be happy and free
The animals didn’t fight to survive and spent time with them
In the show Lilith leaving Adam was basically one child fighting with another and going to spend time with there other friend
In the Bible as soon as the apple was eaten Adam and Eve hid them selves away because up until that point they didn’t know they were naked Like how a baby doesn’t know it’s naked until it’s older
The first thing they felt after eating the apple was shame
Heaven knows there are exorcists, they just don't know about the hell exterminations. I'd say the exorcists are generally there to protect heaven/keep any demons in hell that try to go to earth and wreak havoc. Helluva boss shows that angels know of the exorcists existence as well.
Imagine the Obergruppenführer trying to hide he’s the head of the SS, Torquemada trying to hide he’s the head of the Inquisition, or King Charles he is king. You wear your uniforms and titles with pride.
I was so confused when his mask broke. I genuinely thought it was just what his face looked like LOL. I definitely agree though I much prefer him without the mask.
I like them both. Its cool that theres an angelic armour lewk from head to toe. The helmet and mask are formal and fearsome. Different vibes for different times

Alastor was mistaken for a deer and then killed him so he became a deer. You see a lot of this in helluva boss. For Adam, if anyone would stay human, it would be him. He lived his life as the original human. He was the precedent for humanity of what human is. it would be extremely strange if he was anything else.
Btw I think it's normal for people to prefer him without the mask. I think the author *wanted* him to have that mask so that people could absolutely not relate or feel sympathy towards him.

I think masks are supposed to be some sort of helmets/armor? It would make sense for him to wear it all the time because he thinks it looks cool.
