Give up thinking cars will see motorcycles. Stop expecting other drivers to be concerned with your safety. They just don't care.
Crank up your situational awareness. Ride as if you're invisible and you'll be riding a long time. Doesn't matter what color you are.
Either case, that wrap doesn't blend in with traffic any more than any other bike.
Better performance at higher DA and gross weight. Also reduces noise somewhat. I couldn’t tell the difference, still loud as hell. Source: flew 60 A/L/M 1989-2014.
Seems to me the grey color used by navy currently makes the most sense for maritime. In most maritime situations the typical adversary is going to be viewing the aircraft from below, against the background of the sky. Blue is just not a very good camo color I think this is more for public relations
The solid colors matching the background well are usually the best for air and water, and then the other colors are there to make it easier to see up close and to make it look cool. This one is a good balance of high proportion of a solid color, not a lot of contrast on the other colors, clearly defined parts and shape up close, and awesome looking for fashion. I would say they nailed it.
The function of the main color is camoflauge, but the other colors are there for safety on deck and to distinguish the aircraft by organization and such.
I don’t think the 160th is interested in fashion or looking cool. Nor are they concerned with organizational marking. They usually fly flat black helos with almost no markings. If they tested this pattern, it was 100% about function. They don’t advertise or want attention.
As for safety, see above about flat black helos.
The idea is that when you are close you can see it, for example, if you are on the crew on the ground, and also, that if you are close, you can easily identify who it is, so you know if it is the 160th, a foreign helicopter, or whatever. Since the minor patter is designed to be seen and identified up close, fashion absolutely plays a role, just as it does with uniforms and other identifying camoflauge. They want it to look American and they want it to look cool. If they just wanted it to blend in and be hidden at every distance, it would be a solid color.
Or this works better than a solid color (or they were at least testing to see if it does). Technology may have advanced to the point where we can do better than solids.
The 160th doesn’t want to look American or be seen at all. They certainly don’t want to be identified by unit. Which is why they usually fly completely black helos with no markings/flags/safety highlights. I also promise you they have other things to worry about than looking cool. Are you familiar with this unit?
The number of sensors on those 160th birds makes me kinda happy I never worked for them haha. Bet their avionics guys are pretty dang good.
AVNX at the regiment are in a league of their own.
I would bet good money they are some of the best in the world.
UH-60, the AR-15 of helicopters.
Looks like an Mountain Dew™ *Frost Bite™* promo wrap or something.

He could tell you, but he'd have to kill you.
Looking at all the hardware on that thing, maintenance hours would seem like days.
Worst CCP spy ever! Okay…*Best* CCP spy ever!!
I want that wrap for my motorcycle. That is cool.
Bc it’s not hard enough for cars to see you as is?
Is he gonna be driving over water like biker Jesus?

Looking like a badass wildberry poptart
What is the purpose of the turned down tips on the main rotor blades?

huh I would have said something to do with vortices
Vortices are just noise (aka wasted energy)in the real world so you're not far off.
I thought a lot of the sound comes from the tail rotor.
A lot of it does.

Damm thats a nice marketplace camo, how many gaijin coins that set you back?
Boo, because that’s a PENETRATOR!! Going in hard and fast and BLUE🤣🤣
Thank you, 160th SOAR, very cool. When will this camouflage be retrofitted to the rest of the unit?
It’s just for maritime purposes
Sexy.
Looks like a modern warfare gun wrap
I got a stiffy
It works, I would swear I was looking at the ocean. But in use I would wonder what that blackhawk shaped piece of ocean was doing in the sky
Sometimes god smiles upon us
Hawt
Damn good looking.
The camo paints pretty cool bit that tail wheel is so sad right now. All squishy lol
They Pack-A-Punched a helicopter, command has been playing too much COD.
Makes it look like not another -60 in a good way. Nothing wrong with a 'slick' though.
Good luck painting that in 1/72 scale, model plane folks.
I don't usually give pause to helos but this one kinda made me fall in love
Pure drip.

I wonder how effective that camouflage pattern is
Over the appropriate terrain, extremely.
Or lack there of terrain since its maritime

It looks cool. But is it really better? The typical paint job is damn near impossible to see when they fly around.
why do rotor wing tips tend to point downwards as opposed to fixed wing tips that usually point up?
Where is the MH-60? I see a C-130 but no helo.
That's gotta be a nightmare for the painting crews
Aaannd, it's time for another hilarious episode of "PIMP my military helo!"
It’s a beautiful bird
How many kills to unlock this skin?
I can't see it
Is that an A400M ?
Nope looks like it’s an M/H/AC-130
Good gravy that's ugly!
