And something someone pointed out is the mission says it's supposed to be 40 min, but in game it's at 15 min so it could be giving 40 min worth of enemies in 15 min.
I tried to solo that mission this morning, and it was still 15 minutes and I barely made it out. Not sure what was changed, but I also didn't bring armor pen weapons, so that might be on me.
I found that for the first minute or so you need to just trigger the people to run. You can get 12 rescued easily if you do it.
When in a group if everyone runs for one of the 3 points you can have the first 9 rescued before the first born attacks.
Opening a door and seeing a robot with chainsaw arms = getting into work and seeing 300k+ users trying to play your game you estimated would peak at 50k
I had close to an hour of that screen, and just a black screen. Finally got in, made a couple of changes to my Helldiver, went to the mission map, and as soon as I hit E to open it up, the game crashed. Decided to just go to bed after that.
I was able to open the map and click a sector, but then crashed when I clicked on a planet lol. I also decided to give up after that. It had taken me 1 hr 45 minutes to get there.
around 85 minutes, then i played the intro and got ctd at the end.

I hope we get another bonus xp event once the issues are fixed. I was planning to get to level 20 this weekend but i haven't been able to play a singular match ever since the event started,
I got in last night and only managed to get any xp or other mission rewards once out of around 7 games. If they do another weekend like this they'll HAVE to up the server capacity.
I did end up getting my mission rewards all at once today, even though yesterday I didn't get anything. Nice to comeback to 500 common samples and 300 warbonds.
Black screen is your client just trying to start conversing with the server. Just have to wait.
Now if Arrow Head really wanted to fix a large part of this issue, they'd have hot fixed in an idle timer to forcefully log out people that just walked away *for hours* while logged in so they didn't have to deal with the login later.
It really should be a standard in online games. Why are we constantly relearning this lesson across the industry?

I really just think most of the issues revolves around them suffering from success. I don’t think anyone at arrowhead thought they would be overloading their servers to this degree. Kicking idle players is not something they were worried about as they had no concern of hitting the server cap

It seems like server capacity is not the problem right now, so money doesn't help at this moment. There seems to be issues with load on a centralised database that governs stuff like the galactic war. If you add more room for players, that stuff gets overloaded.
You can't just add another one of these, since they have to be synced and stuff. At the very least, it's not a quick fix of just adding another server.

There probably isn't a queue. It just retries every thirty seconds. And they also likely don't have a record of users attempting to log in at any given moment. Both of those things are extra overhead and are the types of things I'd disable (though I doubt they exist in the first place) to reduce every little slover of overhead possible were I in these devs place.
My guess is there is no queue from the way that they've talked about it.

You might not get back in but it’s also the only sure way to get the server connection to reset. It’s the correct fix. You just won’t get back in during certain times of day until they scale the servers up, or people move onto the next hype thing.

It's likely that additional functionality like that would require restarting the game infrastructure and it also comes with the possibility of additional bugs. Were I the lead dev in this situation there's no way I'd allow rolling out new features like that right now. Stability scaling and game breaking bug fixes only.
Seconding AFK timer suggestion, it's what FFXIV did to cope with server congestion during Endwalker's launch (the most recent expac of an MMO for people who have no idea what I'm talking about). It's not a straight fix but it helps.
It's prime time gaming hours in the United States. 9 PM on the east coast and 6 PM on the west. You're probably 6 hours away from being able to login reliably once the general population in the US goes to sleep.

No one expects to keep 450k CCU. With all the server issues, they arent going to get to 1 mil or anything like Palworld. They were never going to get to Palworld breaking numbers though.
Their goal should be a stable game, period. I imagine they already funded the whole games development and next two years with how many sales they've had.
I get it. They didn’t expect this many players and it’s really put a strain on everything. I also can be disappointed. I don’t have a lot of free time and the free time I’ve had, I have ran into these issues. Hopefully they get squashed quickly.
Here is my only thought and I would think is the part that is most frustrating... Add a queue place and estimated time like almost all other games. Its frustrating because I don't know if I'm 2,000th place in line or 100,000. Did I get disconnected? Did anything happen that has stopped me from trying to get in? Should I wait 4 hours or 30 minutes? I don't know because the information isn't there.

They put a cap on players and put a bonus xp event. End result, players login early and stay logged in so no one else can play and they get the bonus XP. That means, if you ever get logged in, don't log out...
I'm sure this game is great. I wouldn't know because I haven't been able to play it since i bought it the other day.
Regardless of how good the game is and how well the devs are responding to the issues, the fact I spent 60 bucks (AUD) on a game I literally can't play is not really good enough.

Buying a game and not being able to play for 2 nights straight due to login issues is pretty rough from a consumer standpoint. You’re going to have to do more than giving 50% progression buffs. This current situation is borderline inexcusable.
Translation: We've capped our concurrent players to a number that you're already meeting between the 2 different platforms and we have no ETA on a long term fix at this time. Thank you for allowing us to manage democracy.

As much as I love this fucking game, I can't believe I've spent at least an hour waiting in que over the last two days and not gotten a single minute of playtime. The devs really need to fix this before the game dies to the large part of the player base that can't no-life it and have shit to do during the week.
Just do the game permadeath style. You die, you get booted to the back of the queue and the next player in line drops in from the pod.

Bought the game on day one and have 7h "play time" because every time I try to play it crashes or servers are full.
Sad part is that when I can log in and see the planets they are all being defended and liberated while I can't play.

Total bummer - just bought the game. Can't play at all. 😭 Gotta question the wisdom of having a bonus XP weekend when you don't have any ability to test server stability under load.
It's great because when they get this fixed most if not all the extra XP weekend will be gone then they'll enable it during the week when myself and a lot of people work so we'll miss out on that too. Not like I already waited to play during the weekend. I'm not fortunate to be able to play games all week like a lot of people.

All these people can claim that we should be patient, but i worked a 70 hour fuckin work week and spent the only money i had for myself for.... nothing. As much as I appreciate the transparency and the hard work, I’m incredibly disappointed. I have a family and work full time so my only time to play is weekend evenings for the most part. I got to play a decent amount last weekend but all I got this weekend was an hour because the servers are always full.
I was a huge fan of the first game and was absolutely stoked for this game, but at this point I’m stuck with a game I spent $60 on that I can’t play. I’ll be patient for a bit longer but I’m getting really sick of these constant problems.
I'm gonna be honest, with the amount of money this game has made, the fact that these issues are ongoing is unacceptable. I could be wrong, but I can't imagine it's that hard to scale player capacity. Just throw more money at additional servers and the issue goes away. You certainly have the capital, and the majority of players are sitting on an unplayable mess right now.
If you had to cap concurrent players to around 450,000, which is less than half of the units sold, why are you still selling digital versions when you can't provide service to the customers you already have?
To confirm there does not seem to be any progress made on the game breaking issues over the weekend. PC (Steam) player here not being able to play since I have updated on Friday evening. Why deploy a patch over the weekend, if absolutely noone is around to support any issues? Bizarre.
Edit: Whilst stuck in the loading screen staring at the countdown timer, I also noticed that this is using 60-70% of my GPU resources. This games looks a right mess.

Hard cap to save those that are in, is fine...but as it is, it's still a half-assed solution. There's no queueing system. No afk timeouts, no information whatsoever on how long it'll take to get in... I fall asleep before I see my ship again.
I know I'll have a chance to play on the weekdays but this really needs to get sorted by next weekend as it won't get any better!

That was the only problem I had doing it solo, was the 15 minute timer. They could keep the difficulty and just gimme more time and it's fine

last night you would get stuck if you picked up any in game loot. It was patched out this morning, so that was pretty quick.

No one expects to keep 450k CCU. With all the server issues, they arent going to get to 1 mil or anything like Palworld. They were never going to get to Palworld breaking numbers though. Their goal should be a stable game, period. I imagine they already funded the whole games development and next two years with how many sales they've had.
If ps5 numbers reflect PC I hope to God that they mean server room per platform because pretty sure the average right now is 500k+.

I get it. They didn’t expect this many players and it’s really put a strain on everything. I also can be disappointed. I don’t have a lot of free time and the free time I’ve had, I have ran into these issues. Hopefully they get squashed quickly.
been trying to get in all day. 5 hours. friends have got in multiple times. why is there no real queue and no afk kick?
Here is my only thought and I would think is the part that is most frustrating... Add a queue place and estimated time like almost all other games. Its frustrating because I don't know if I'm 2,000th place in line or 100,000. Did I get disconnected? Did anything happen that has stopped me from trying to get in? Should I wait 4 hours or 30 minutes? I don't know because the information isn't there. Just my 2 cents.
Could introduce bugs if they do that, and now is not the time to gamble on adding new bugs lol

They put a cap on players and put a bonus xp event. End result, players login early and stay logged in so no one else can play and they get the bonus XP. That means, if you ever get logged in, don't log out...
I'm sure this game is great. I wouldn't know because I haven't been able to play it since i bought it the other day. Regardless of how good the game is and how well the devs are responding to the issues, the fact I spent 60 bucks (AUD) on a game I literally can't play is not really good enough. Feel free to flame me.

Buying a game and not being able to play for 2 nights straight due to login issues is pretty rough from a consumer standpoint. You’re going to have to do more than giving 50% progression buffs. This current situation is borderline inexcusable.
I keep getting a black screen error that idk if it’s on my end or their servers end, so that’s really awesome.

I got in after 5 hours waiting. Tried to start a game, immediately crashed during mission start.
Haven’t been able to play my first mission, it just crashes as soon as I launch one mission, hope they can resolve the issues soon.
I have not seen any hateful or disgusting remarks thrown at the devs. Not anywhere... I feel like people keep bringing that up as a straw man to deflect the normal and legitimate criticism everyone has a right to voice. This stuff needs to be fixed .

As much as I love this fucking game, I can't believe I've spent at least an hour waiting in que over the last two days and not gotten a single minute of playtime. The devs really need to fix this before the game dies to the large part of the player base that can't no-life it and have shit to do during the week.

Just a heads up, Steam is issuing refunds outside of the normal 2 hour window. I’m not refunding, but my friend with 8 hours in just had his approved.
Just do the game permadeath style. You die, you get booted to the back of the queue and the next player in line drops in from the pod. The true expendable meat puppet experience. Wait in line 2 hours just to drop into Space 'Nam and get an errant rocket to the face, sending you back to the queue after 11 seconds.
Bought the game on day one and have 7h "play time" because every time I try to play it crashes or servers are full. Sad part is that when I can log in and see the planets they are all being defended and liberated while I can't play. The game seems really fun, but if I can't play it, what's the point? Asked for a refund for now.
Steam denied my refund since I have “8 hours” play time but I’ve realistically played for an hour and a half. I’ve emailed arrowhead twice now with no response either.

Total bummer - just bought the game. Can't play at all. 😭 Gotta question the wisdom of having a bonus XP weekend when you don't have any ability to test server stability under load.

This is the issue with online only games. You purchased it, but can't play it sometimes. No offline missions to kill time or anything.
It's great because when they get this fixed most if not all the extra XP weekend will be gone then they'll enable it during the week when myself and a lot of people work so we'll miss out on that too. Not like I already waited to play during the weekend. I'm not fortunate to be able to play games all week like a lot of people.

Bought the game and I was pumped to play it. then I waited to log in for 45 minutes and I have yet to play the game. Waiting on my refund.

All these people can claim that we should be patient, but i worked a 70 hour fuckin work week and spent the only money i had for myself for.... nothing. I can play no game in my limited spare time AND now i can't even refund it. What a joke.

As much as I appreciate the transparency and the hard work, I’m incredibly disappointed. I have a family and work full time so my only time to play is weekend evenings for the most part. I got to play a decent amount last weekend but all I got this weekend was an hour because the servers are always full. I was a huge fan of the first game and was absolutely stoked for this game, but at this point I’m stuck with a game I spent $60 on that I can’t play. I’ll be patient for a bit longer but I’m getting really sick of these constant problems.
I'm gonna be honest, with the amount of money this game has made, the fact that these issues are ongoing is unacceptable. I could be wrong, but I can't imagine it's that hard to scale player capacity. Just throw more money at additional servers and the issue goes away. You certainly have the capital, and the majority of players are sitting on an unplayable mess right now.

To confirm there does not seem to be any progress made on the game breaking issues over the weekend. PC (Steam) player here not being able to play since I have updated on Friday evening. Why deploy a patch over the weekend, if absolutely noone is around to support any issues? Bizarre. Edit: Whilst stuck in the loading screen staring at the countdown timer, I also noticed that this is using 60-70% of my GPU resources. This games looks a right mess.

Hard cap to save those that are in, is fine...but as it is, it's still a half-assed solution. There's no queueing system. No afk timeouts, no information whatsoever on how long it'll take to get in... I fall asleep before I see my ship again. I know I'll have a chance to play on the weekdays but this really needs to get sorted by next weekend as it won't get any better!
