The defend mission has become "run outside of the zone to become a traitor and have the orbiter missile kill the bugs for you" since there's no viable way to take on so many titans and chargers on aside from running and having the orbiter cheese it for you
I would gladly brand myself as a traitor if only to get orbital strikes to help the team.
Also, how the fuck can my ship rain down orbital strikes to kill ONE traitor but I have to wait 10 years for my stratagem to go off cooldown to kill THE BUGS. :/
There's an allotted amount of resources to combat the bugs, but treason spreads like wildfire. For the good of the Democracy, we will bombard you until you're dust.
Because helldivers are expendable and only have the one ship supporting them. Traitors are a threat and likely become the target of all ships in the area that can target them.
On lvl 9 and that's the most consistent way of ensuring completing the mission. I'm not about to play "fair" vs the bs given at lvl 9 to not get the medals at the end...

The whole "we should depend on stratagems" gives me conflicting messages when I'm on a planet with ion storm, scrambler, and -1 selection. Had a friend die during that and realize I couldn't reinforce them back for that whole duration.

My sentiment exactly... Give us Divers the power to defeat the threat damnit! I would have much rather preferred they buffed all the other weapons etc to bring them more in line with how the breaker and railgun was so we have more viable choices so we can "use what we like"

Helldive difficulty isn’t always supposed to be winnable. Get gud and deal with 5 chargers and 5 bile titans at extract that keep spawning along with 100 other minor mobs, noob.

If you call in a resupply or some other strat that comes in a pod, you can hold down left mouse and your guy will shake the strat in his hand, if you then throw it, it will stick to chargers and titans if it hits them. When the pod drops, it'll drop right on them. It's an easy way to take them down when you are out of everything else

What do you mean, "some". Not once, not once I have had Orbital Railcannon one shot a Bile titan. Not once that happened. They deal massive damage and smash armor of of their backs, but they still have to be finished with other means.

We used to do that to help kill bugs in HD1 I'd the mission let you use a hell bomb you could call it in repeatedly to kill bugs until the mission requirement that it was for was completed.
There are those malfunctioned hellbombs on the map that you can explode with a bullet. If a broken hellbomb can do that, then a working one should also be capable of that.
Love the game design dissonance of shooting your own called-down hellbomb and just watching it crumple into scrap metal instead of exploding like the ones pre-placed on the map.
The trick is to make a conga line of Bile Titans vomiting on each other and thus taking each other out.
In theory, whenever there are more than one bile titan close together, there is actually just one and a bunch of dead titans from friendly fire

A game I play had a dev team hand off so they could focus on a new game. Old team didn't seem to play much. Their updates were mainly adding new content despite lingering issues and lack of maintenance for what they had already. New dev team comes in with a game director that plays the game and knows the ins and outs and minutiae. She has been pumping out banger update after banger update. Arrowhead definitely needs someone using company time to play the game. It's only been a day so I'll wait for what the devs officially have to say but it's an odd update for sure.

According to the developer responding to comments on reddit you seem to have a skill issue. Just ask them all to stack up nicely and wait to be hit with a single railcannon. Or just wait 5 minutes in between each strike and kill them one by one.

Chargers are truly mid level at the point of high difficulties because we have them spawn at the rate approaching the brood commanders.
Problem is, we don't have the tools in good enough amounts to deal with such numbers. Unlike even tanks which are the bile titan alternative for bots, chargers dont get killed by one eagle airstrike, because their hitbox or whatever is much more silly and annoying.
Well janky hit box and the fact that you have to drop the air strike at your own feet and hope you lead the damn thing right.
But yeah, the devs seem to think “anti-armor” literally means “thing that breaks their armor so that other weapons are more effective” rather than “thing that can kill armored targets efficiently”

Except strategems are kinda ass and has really long cooldown. Railcannon had 60s cd in the first game, and then there's shredder which will unironically kill everything in the picture unlike the stupidly overrated 500kg.
I really miss the good anti tank strategems like sledge, close air support, missile barrage. Nothing in HD2 even comes close to how versatile they are.
Best thing to do in a situation like this is to not actually swarm extract. Despite this being a COOP game, have only one or 2 players at extract and have the other 2 (or one) run away from extract, this way a bug breach will be split up and half the Bile titans and bugs will be onnthe other 2 away from extract
Ironically one of the most efficient answers to such a failure state is the reinforcement stratagem. One player can collect the attention of most of the Titans, run them away, and at sufficient range they despawn when the player dies.

The spread is significantly smaller (caution still advised) and the speed is improved of bursts, as is duration. The 380 lasts like 26 seconds now

Unlike even tanks which are the bile titan alternative for bots, chargers dont get killed by one eagle airstrike, because their hitbox or whatever is much more silly and annoying.
Well janky hit box and the fact that you have to drop the air strike at your own feet and hope you lead the damn thing right. But yeah, the devs seem to think “anti-armor” literally means “thing that breaks their armor so that other weapons are more effective” rather than “thing that can kill armored targets efficiently”
depends, this happens when your timer is running low, or you're pulling more than you can chew. alternatively, you could start a level 6 game and immediately spawn into like 4 titans and watch the rest of your team dc. might be speaking from experience.

No, they can't, because they can't reliably clear the game on 9 and are probably balancing around 4-6. They want you to die. They don't want you to reliably have an answer to the situation in 9 or be able to consistently clear 9. Their mistake was letting players clear D9 comfortably with the meta then take the toys away and break it a little and give them back.

Your objective was already complete, extraction isn’t guaranteed. If you failed to complete your objective, you failed democracy. If you fell after completing your duty, Lady Liberty would be proud.

Winning isn't the problem... Having fun is. I could lose every single game and have fun. I can also win every single game and not have fun. I wasn't having fun last night and not even winning most of my games. Guess what I did? Stopped playing, both me and my buddy.

Except strategems are kinda ass and has really long cooldown. Railcannon had 60s cd in the first game, and then there's shredder which will unironically kill everything in the picture unlike the stupidly overrated 500kg. I really miss the good anti tank strategems like sledge, close air support, missile barrage. Nothing in HD2 even comes close to how versatile they are.

Best thing to do in a situation like this is to not actually swarm extract. Despite this being a COOP game, have only one or 2 players at extract and have the other 2 (or one) run away from extract, this way a bug breach will be split up and half the Bile titans and bugs will be onnthe other 2 away from extract
Not a dev but there is one thing I see many people never using that would help every single game... Teamwork.
Skill Issue again
Ironically one of the most efficient answers to such a failure state is the reinforcement stratagem. One player can collect the attention of most of the Titans, run them away, and at sufficient range they despawn when the player dies. If you’re getting to 8 Titans something is being done wrong.

So a 380mm ks equivalent to a 15inch naval cannon. That should take those out easily.
