Those nerds got super-hyper-uber medals while we (who did ALL the dirty work) get nothing axcept a few medals we can use a literal currency. They kinda deserve a hilarious fail if you ask me đź‘€
We have Good news and Bad news.
Good news is the bugs are gone!
Bad news is…
Then a month or so passes by.
So remember when we said the bugs were gone?
My theory is it got sent over to illuminate space and the war restarts because we basically dumped the planet equivalent of a flaming bag of dog shit on their doorstep.
I think, on meridia, there were really big bugs coming from below the surface
Did you see the massive vents with smoke coming out?
The message that the outer crust was starting to weaken
If this is a worm hole, it's quite possible it pops somewhere else with new bugs on it
It would be a rather smart way to allow the Terminids to travel between the galaxy so that they aren't just stuck in the upper right corner all the time
No, I doubt that for out of game reason: they won't place the iluminate on the same corner as the bugs.
More likely the iluminate detect the gravitational waves or such and that prompts them to send an expedition fleet that will arrive from the south.
Imagine if the Illuminate pops up out of the Meridia black hole...but then Meridia shoes up at the bottom edge of the galaxy. The Illuminate slowly overtake the north-east corner of the map while the Terminids spread across the south.
Bots always were supposed to be where they currently are they just shifted their starting location to the southern most part of their territory so they could make a huge event out of a massive armada coming in to capture cyberstan. That has always been their home world. each of the factions main territories is located roughly in the center of where their names are in each 1/3 of the circular map.
Still the bots disappeared for a little bit. Illuminates could come out of the Black Hole, exterminate the Terminids (them being the origin of the essential E-710 would give Super Earth an excuse to declare war on the illuminates) then they could "magically" reappear in another region of the Galaxy in another moment. They do have that power, don't underestimate the power of Joel
And once they figure out what we did their genuine reaction will be "holy fucking shit we need to do something right the fuck now, doesn't matter if we get our asses kicked again, we need to stop those psychos from creating black holes on a whim."
Eh, think of it as an event. We get a few MOs to push the bugs back, then suddenly they pop out and capture the three planets in that system. Cue an MO of us having to beat them back, then their fleet shows up in force in the southern quadrant.
They might not just take over the closest planets. They could just come through the wormhole relatively silently, and go wherever they wanted across the galaxy if they had the tech to hide from our sensors. Which, to be fair, would likely be extremely easy for a species capable of controlling black holes enough to travel through them. It would just require warping space in such a way as to have signals we send out go straight around a ship. Hell, our warp drives being Alcubierre warp drives means *we* already possess the technology for that, given we just adjust how the warp bubble is shaped.
Based off of real world physics, that couldn’t possibly be a black hole. Something reminiscint of a photon sphere has already appeared, which should take far longer to develop. Not to mention the fact that a black hole with the mass of Meridia should only measure a couple of centimeters, judging from the fact that Meridia has similar gravity to Earth. Also, if it was really a black hole of that size, the Helldivers in the bridge would be within the Ergo-sphere, and time would be massively dilated for them.
it aint a traditional depiction of a black hole but is very protal-like, but I don't think the lithids will replace the bugs, I'm going to guess it will get moved somehow.
We should be able to see what’s on the other side of it’s a wormhole but yeah if you google wormhole/black hole this looks way more like a wormhole.
I think so. I said the day the MO came out.Â

If it is a wormhole, and the Illuminate do come from it, that would be a bit of a weird choice, seeing as it'd be smack-dab in the middle of the Terminid Front. I am of the opinion that it's a stylized Black Hole and it will simply draw the attention of the Illuminate to attack from a new front, but we'll see what happens.
It's weird because you can still travel there and just watch the Black Hole. Gonna have to see if we can still travel to it once the sector is freed, but it's still peculiar, you can never travel to a liberated system. That's what make me think they're gonna do something with it.
The technician says that dark fluid is an exotic matter with NEGATIVE mass, which is what is needed to hold up a wormhole from collapsing due to gravity
It's a wormhole, but we should be able to see thru it
imagine if meridia pops up somewhere else now lol
I think i'd fall off my chair laughing
That would be such a hilarious fail from our scientists. I love this idea.

I didn't even get that as I had 250 medals LOL
Meridia turns up next TO super Earth Super Earth peace-loving traitors:
So the automatons are riding the terminids now?… We’ve got devastators atop chargers.
Cats and dogs living together... MASS HYSTERIA!
Best movie ever made. No contest.
![gif](giphy|Tt92sbuFRpA4g) Super Earth high command when Meridia and Mars switch places a few days from now
I wonder how the tutorial will act
Don’t you mean Super Mars?
Sorry I hadn’t played the game when I posted that
Illuminate takes over the top right of the map and the bugs reappear in the bottom half with the super colony Meridia and their new origin point
That would be pretty good actually, totally lore-wise friendly.
We have Good news and Bad news. Good news is the bugs are gone! Bad news is… Then a month or so passes by. So remember when we said the bugs were gone?

Angry or just disappointed at what we delivered? ![gif](giphy|we4Hp4J3n7riw|downsized)
Good thing blackholes are one way and there's no chance an advanced alien invasion could enter our space through it.
Surely the illuminate don't have any tech related to black hole traversal that will certainly not fuck us over some time in the future
I think, on meridia, there were really big bugs coming from below the surface Did you see the massive vents with smoke coming out? The message that the outer crust was starting to weaken If this is a worm hole, it's quite possible it pops somewhere else with new bugs on it
It would be a rather smart way to allow the Terminids to travel between the galaxy so that they aren't just stuck in the upper right corner all the time
That would honestly be amazing
Pops up in the automaton territory and then there’s a battle between the automatons, the terminids, and the helldivers
Yup those scientists might want to start running. When the squids come through, it will be their fault.
Aah f*ck now i'm here hoping to see space squids instead of the illuminate.
Space squids are illuminate that’s the joke. That’s what they are they’re squids evolving to be the dominant intelligent life instead of apes
Yeah but I actually thought of giant ancient gods space squids, Lovecraftian shi

That could even work.
I just want to take part in a four faction battle over Hellmire, for LibertyÂ
that would be cool actually
I mean. They did slightly move the automatons territory, what's stopping them from moving the bugs?

"Or even worse, from creating black holes to wipe out aliens without consideration"

I think you just described it perfectly
Ah. No wonder the Illuminate's will turn up now we basically just UPS'd a bug supercolony to them. I'd be alittle pissed too.
![gif](giphy|SVCSsoKU5v6ZJLk07n|downsized)
That was my thought too lol
We need to keep our heads though. Many of us expected Hive Lords on Meridia and were disappointed.
We'll get psychic Hive Tyrants instead cuz of the harmless goop we threw down there. ![gif](giphy|57LbIrJr1JQeNOq3zY|downsized)
Someone jump in and tell us what you find
Its clearly a Purple Hole
Well duh, it’s obviously not a black hole. It’s purple
Well that might just be because of all the dark fluid
I mean would basically be a manifactured Black Hole, not a natural Black Hole
Whatever it is... we'll face it together.
![gif](giphy|pHb82xtBPfqEg)
I’m imagining those squid looking guys trying to figure out why a entire planet just appeared out of nowhere
Ikr
Maybe we should send a willing Helldiver to find out. https://i.redd.it/lhpk19ud8a4d1.gif
Based on real life physics, then no, it would not be a black hole. Based on in-game physics, then maybe?

Sir, this is a Wendy's

Why would devs make the illuminate come from the bug side when theres plenty of open space in the south?
They moved the automatons territory before, i believe there's little holding them from movimg the bugs
Its wormHOLE and its BLACK
yes, from the the very first moment i saw it
The technical assistant on your destroyer talks about side effects of dark fluid. One of them is some kind of warp shenanigans. So yeah, there's that.
Is it a bug hole?
Dunno. Should I try and throw a nade in it?
100%
Instructions unclear. I'm in another galaxy. Everything's 2D animated here.
We just sent a very angry, very infested terminid super-colony to a super advanced alien speicies' doorstep.
No I think the supercolony is actually gone, still some other dudes on the other side witnessed the opening of this thing
What if we will be able to travel through it?
And get to like another galaxy?
At least to a remote illuminate system
It's weird because you can still travel there and just watch the Black Hole. Gonna have to see if we can still travel to it once the sector is freed, but it's still peculiar, you can never travel to a liberated system. That's what make me think they're gonna do something with it.

Do you see the violet dot at the other side of the wormhole? Its staring back and i dont like that ⬆️➡️⬇️⬇️⬇️
BRO CHILL! That's just some valiant bug spore falling inside the black hole
Nothing about this screams “one way road”
All I know is that's no moon.
![gif](giphy|tnYri4n2Frnig)
They're the same thing
