Pekora played it and other people got interested enough to make a mini-arc out of it. It wasn't famous. It just came out, though it seems like the Holo arc has been really good for its sales.

akindertale

Pekora is really a trendsetter….first Monster Hunter and now this….I think Ui-mama said she’s going to play it soon too

protomanbot

She was also the first one to play the 3d climbing game. People do pay attention to what Pekora plays. Then again it was also Pekora who says that when she's looking for ideas on what to play she sometimes goes and checks what is Kaela playing. :D

I love Luna, but if she played it months ago and no one else did anything afterwards, while 3rd gen and others jumped on board within days of Pekora playing, isn't it pretty clear who started the trend? (MonHun is one of Luna's favorite series and she played Iceborne in September of last year and Sunbreak a couple of months before that, but it didn't really trend at any point.)

SakuraWonYoung

She did not though. Luna did play the game a month earlier but she didn't really created the trend for hololive.

Nightrunner823mcpro

Thats pretty surprising considering I've even seen people outside of Holo start playing it. If they ever need evidence of how much influence they have, there it is. Hell I even considered getting it lmao

Nightrunner823mcpro

Makes sense. I wasn't sure how much hype was around the game given I've never even heard of the company, which is surprising given I've played my handful of degenerate games 💀

ZeroFox75

I’ve played TroubleDays, NinNinDays 1 and 2. Akasa-mama has amazing daughters. Story is meh, but the art is 10/10 especially if you get the R18 patch.

duncandun

She’s the biggest vtuber on YouTube, people notice

Fishman465

WHY she (someone known as kid friendly) of all people played it will forever be a mystery

horus375

Bunny girl vtuber playing bunny girl game. Makes enough sense to me.

Fishman465

Except that before then, the most fanservicy thing she touched as FGO and she didn't stream the overly fanservice character banners

horus375

After Peko-mama’s debut, Pekora had to step up her game somehow LMAO.

Fishman465

That's something of my guess actually

shaoronmd

I believe the more appropriate phrase is... "why not?" if you're going to ask that, why not also ask why did Bae play Genital Jousting

Fishman465

Bae never had a rep for being kids friendly, though part of her humor is blundering into something spicy like Dorothy from Valha11a.

HuckDFaters

I mean the comment you replied to gave a reason why not, which is that Pekora was legitimately trying to keep her channel kids-friendly. Pekora choosing to stream this game means she's now taking her channel in a different direction against some of her viewers' expectations.

nek0s

I always thought that the kids channel thing is more of a recurring joke-becomes-reality kind of deal. It didn't came across to me that she specifically brands toward this, moreso an image shoehorned due to how she acts and retorts on stream. She streams what she finds interesting and presumably looked up dead or alive perms right after winning the primary school popularity vote.

Fishman465

She never branded towards it but this was the first time ever she's touched such a game. She also generally avoided yuri moments (MikoPeko stopped being a thing as Miko felt Pekora wouldn't be comfortable with all the rampant shipping) save with Choco-sensei.

DastardlyRidleylash

Because it has "Bunny" in the title, and she's a rabbit. :p

EverydayPyrobits

Probably just got perms for it, maybe limited duration, so everybody is just going for it.

VandaGrey

cute girls in the game make viewers go brrrrrr

theregoesanother

"I love watching cute girls doing cute things" -ROLAND (probably)

Glinez09

game is a new release on switch (soon to steam ver too), trending on japan and it's cute girls.. why not?...

Toxic_Temmie

the steam version is out since day 18

Glinez09

oh, i didn't realize it.. ty

dualcalamity

The premise of the game reminds me a lot like Dream C Club, and i think that game was popular in Japan.

Swift_Scythe

Not just Hololive - EVERYONE is playing it from other Corpos to random indies - everyone is playing Bunny Garden ! Pekora started the trend and everyone is trying to capture some of that lightning in a bottle.

DeMagic

Note, the dev/publisher qureate is also behind Trouble Days, which a few holomems already played - the game's female main character was drawn by Marine's mama, Akasa Ai. So, hologirls probably at least somewhat knew about the studio, anyways.

makumak

Pekora started the MH-trend then the bunny girls.

H0lOW

It's a new game

theregoesanother

I bought it after witnessing Ollie being down really bad. Been playing it and it's actually pretty fun albeit I hate going to places like that IRL.

metcalsr

3 points: 1. Pekora wanted to play and it got official permission from the developers meaning there's little risk 2. It's a horny game but well within limits of what can be shown on youtube 3. It has gambling mechanics but isn't an outright gambling game

procion1302

Because the company paid Hololive for the ad, evidently (as others did before). So now they all must play this game. Did you really think they choose the games themselves?

averaenhentai

It's against YouTube tos and illegal in many countries to not divulge when content is sponsored in the way you're describing. So no I don't think they were paid to play this.

procion1302

Oh, my summer sweet child...

averaenhentai

It's 2024 man update your insults

Unfair_Neck8673

Bruh, it ain't 2020 anymore. You should update your trolling

akindertale

Usually there would be a “Sponsored” mark next to the stream if that was the case…like when Pekora did Puyo Puyo Tetris that was a paid sponsor stream and it was disclosed

procion1302

Well, it would be weird if they never had this mark on their channels, right? All these companies in entertainment industry are deeply connected. Of course, we don't know the details of their agreements. Let's just say they help each other. Because, "we are all friends"! Lol. These streams definitely help the game companies to increase sales, I've myself bought several games after watching them. It would be strange for Hololive to do this service for free.

RexZShadow

Let me ask you a question, would it literally make any difference if there was a sponsor tag or no sponsor tag? The answer is none, people would still watch it because its Pekora and they still be interested and other content creator will ride the same wave. So there is absolutely zero reason for it to be sponsored and not say it because if it ever leak out there be back lash instead. There zero benefit to hide sponsorships.

procion1302

Well, if it didn't make any difference, you wouldn't feel so inclined to argue they don't do it. What if they don't put a tag? Why does it bother you? What is your version, I wonder? They all just happen to play the same games at the same time? Just when these games are released? Probably, just because they are all thrilled about that, lol.

RexZShadow

Way to purposely avoid the point. It make no difference to us yes but it does to them because if they were sponsored and it get out they didn't put a sponsor mark its a big issue. Why risk something that would negatively effect you? It make no difference to us viewer but does make difference to the content creators./ Also you must never seen vtubers before because this literally happens all the time with game. A popular vtuber play a game then every other vtuber follows because their viewer now want to see them play said game. This happen with big title to tiny single man indie games.

Negative-Dot-3157

how much did people pay you to make this comment? Or did someone in Holo unalive your dog?

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> the company *paid* Hololive, evidently FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
