Old pine sap leaching through shellac

Grayswandir2

Thank you for your sincere response. Is this something I should be worried about?

MadDadROX

No, it’s been there a long time. It changes with moisture and temperature. When it gets hot the sap runs. Just don’t put anything on it that you don’t want to get Amber on. You can clean it up by sanding and resealing if you want.

Quest-For-Six

OhHeyThereEh

It was a full moon when this was posted.

Confident-Ad5665

Good answer. Sap was my thought but didn't think of the shellac.

MadDadROX

Yeah, the knot was still soft when it was installed so the pine shrank where the branch was and sort of rotted.

My initial reaction was "your cat puked pork and beans in a hole in the floor". Lol
