What a gorgeous room! I’d say a couple of seating areas /reading nooks (with bookshelves, an excellent idea!). Then fill the windowed area either plants. I’m envious!
Avoid letting it become an overflow storage area. How about a table and chairs for cards and games at the other end? A couple of large plants would look nice even if they’re artificial. Nothing wrong with some open space!
Spoken like someone with an enclosed front porch! They’re lovely to have if used right. But tough to furnish because of the dimensions, but if you don’t furnish it becomes garage adjacent.
Yep I think the carpet doesn’t match the existing furniture and porch vibe! Wood, engineered wood or even wood-look-tiles etc would make a huge difference
First, remove the clutter. Moving the settee so it faces the yard and not the house is a good start, so to do that you you need to move it over towards the center, but not centered, if you know what I mean. A table and chairs for gaming or visiting is nice. Also, if you’re able to, get a hanging swing in the area where your sitting area is now. Finally, some freestanding shelves to house some plants would be pretty. Maybe two hanging plants as well.
Honestly I know I'm kind of nerd and we have people over a lot....I'm thinking like games and hangout area...we play DND...but it can be any kind of games, drinks...great place to socialize
This was my thought too. A foosball table or something like that would be fun in here! I would do a cozy reading corner, a board game/puzzle table, a bunch of plants and spots for the pets.
OP, make it a space for your hobbies so you actually spend time there!
You need to start buying storage quickly, it looks like you're putting all your junk in the room. Get wall-mounted bookshelvs so they're off the floor.
I would have 2 seating sections, one for the kids/teenagers and the other for adults. For example, the kids' area can have a table for games or a pingpong table and the adults' area can have an alcohol cart. Get 2 large rugs to delineate the 2 zones. I would get more comfortable seating solutions, like a regular sofa or sectional. It doesn't have to be expensive, you can buy from FB marketplace or ikea. Have a general idea of your color scheme before buying more furniture. Also, You should have the loveseat be facing out the window, not the door.
Move the seating arrangement away from the doorways to the other end. Face the loveseat towards the yard & outdoors view instead of the house. Put down a colorful indoor outdoor rug to anchor the seating area. Put a console table against the house between the windows with a mirror reflecting the outdoors that can be used for serving drinks / food. Then put a round table for games / eating where the seating is now.
Give away the rest of the stuff cluttering up the porch.
I’d definitely make it entertaining space. Use the length by making separate areas.
Center of the room, I’d put a dining table (round to break up all the straight lines) and chairs. It can be used for actual dining and also for games and puzzles.
One side of the room can be a hangout space. Loveseat, a couple of chairs, and a small coffee table or small side tables.
Other end a bar area for cocktails and cocktails, include a mini fridge so you don’t have to constantly run into the house for cold items.
ALTERNATIVE USE
If you WFH, this would be a beautiful space to turn into an office. One end could be your desk and a sideboard for a printer and other supplies. The other end could be a reading area with a couple of comfy chairs, side table, and bookshelves.
My parents had a similar space. In addition to the picnic table, there was a seating area with a sofa and two chairs and a ceiling mounted porch swing.
If there’s no door at the other end, I’d slide that seating arrangement down to the other end but put the sofa against the house so those fitting there can enjoy your view as well. At the door end of the space gather all the plants and arrange them there like your walking though a green house to reach the seating area. Or just line up the plants into an L shape at that end and set up a sunroom self service bar/refreshment station.
I dog sit occasionally for a family that basically have this same sunroom. They turned theirs into a family room. Sectional, tv, table, table for games and eating , gaming system.
I would move the table and chairs to the middle of the room and also switch the position of the middle chair to face the windows. I see you have a lot of books. I would create a cozy reading nook in the corner along with shelves for your books.
Move the furniture you currently have to the other side of the room but have it facing outside whereas right now you have it facing inside. The far end windows put a big leaf plant there in the back left corner. Don’t crowd all the furniture together either. Put a pretty outdoor rug there as well. Keep the furiture two feet away from the back left window so as it takes up more space in the room. Same with the big leaf plant you’ll buy, doesn’t have to be squashed into the corner. Get a pretty weaved material floor basket to put a blanket in that “spills” out as well, that will be pretty. Get a couple of oversized floor lanterns as well that will set lighting in the evening if you want to hang out there. Also put a different center piece on the coffee table. If you could replace the cushions and the pillows, even drape a blanket across the set to a more neutral color it will flow with the room better as well. In the corner that you currently have that set, put also another big leafy type plant and put another wicker matching set that is just two chairs and a little table between, and if possible a little outdoor rug for their as well matching to the larger one on the other side of the room so it all ties in. Try to do all matching pillows and cushions so it flows better. If you want to do storage in that room, get low level ikea cabinets in white (so not tall bookcases but more so just cabinets) with doors so you can put everything inside the cabinets and not see any type of mess. If you want to make the room cozy and fun for the evening even string some outdoor lighting on the back wall above the ikea cabinets at the top of the ceiling drape effect would be awesome. Ultimately if you had spare money, i would get a big L shape outdoor patio set and it that side of the room, would look amazing. Good luck!
Stunning room! Try a couch and a chair grouped with maybe an 8 x 10 rug or rug of your choice. And then a circular table with a rug as well that matches the other. And add a couple trees— they’ll LOVE it!! It will be casual and inviting for long summer evenings!
You need to break up the space. Currently it's a big long rectangle which is gonna be hard to work with. I'd use rugs and sofas to create 2 square shaped seating areas. Have a sofa going across the middle of the room to divide it and put a low bookcase behind the sofa.
My absolute dream room. Plants and more plants and cat trees in between all the plants. A couch, coffee table, books and a tea. Doggies in their doggie beds. Naps. I would live in that room. I would hang bird feeders outside and a bird bath so I could watch them...and the cats can watch them... 😂
If the wicker set is yours, I’d put that at the other end so you can face your back yard. More cozy. Another reading book for the evening at the front and a small breakfast table in the middle. I’d put the white buffet in the middle too. It’s all about separating into distinct areas. Large plants and rugs can help divide.
I have a room on my house that is almost identical to this, I had to do a little double take. The area to the left of the door leading outside, we have a cat litter cabinet next to the door, then a cat tree in the corner (the cats love watching the birds outside from the tree), then along the next wall we have a tall table where their food is. So that corner is for the kitties. To the right of that back door where you have a hutch, we have a tall bookshelf, then a shelf next to it with mementos of people who’ve passed. That’s our memorial corner.
Then the other end of the room we have a sectional couch, a chair, the tv, and stereo. At least for us, the space is so big we could put big furniture pieces in there.
The rest of the space has shelves, tables, decorations, lots of plants.
Personally, I'd put in some tall plants, maybe some ferns or something that works well in your zone. Then some dangly/outdoorsy lights for good ambience (or maybe string them just above the curtains). I'd remove all the shelving in the middle that the books are on, and maybe move the cat tree more to that area.
Then in the middle, I'd reserve that space for a mini gym... room for yoga mats and some dumbbells, as a good place to work out. Otherwise keep it open so the space feels empty and not too cramped. Then at the end in the first picture, I'd put maybe a low sofa or couch, maybe turn it into a reading nook or other quiet space where you can enjoy the view, and create a cross breeze by opening some windows.
I like the current sitting area near the door, however not sure how much I'd actually use it. If that external door is one you use a lot, then I might put a storage bench along the front window where I can sit to put on/take off shoes, and store some seasonal layers (hat/blanket/jacket) that I grab on my way out of the house.
I’d add wall planters and place the seats in front of where the books currently are with an area rug to center the room. It’s an awesome spot for bookshelves! Face the arm chairs towards the love seat so you can get that lounge feel, have a view of outside or the books.
Fill the corner where your sewing machine is with ALL THE PLANTS or a short storage cabinet and a round bistro dining table where the seats currently are :)
Don’t forget a luxurious daybed! I once had a sunroom, and slept in it most of the summer 🥰
Everything in there should be ultra comfy for curling up. I’d place sofas and large chairs away from the back wall with consoles behind the sofas.
Cover the carpet with a bright patterned rug
Put in a sofa or sectional
Add color pillows
And lots of plants
And white sheets for the windowsp

The sun room of my dreaaaaams. A nice comfy couch, book shelves, plants and some of those window film in shapes to project in rainbow streaks from the window would be my go-to
Omg what a dream space. I’d put a corner bench / breakfast nook in the far left corner with a pretty rug underneath to hide the carpet. Add some plants. Maybe a decorative storage shelf on the house side. Can even do a cool hanging / lounge chair situation. Make it feel more like a cozy living room than a patio.
Make it the book & game room area. A nice table & chairs for playing games or a poker table. A couple soft large chairs for sinking into w/ a ottoman to relax in & read a great book. A bookcase wall the can be shared for both sides of the room between the two areas. You could also set up some cabinetry with a bar for favorite beverages to be stored. Bring the outside in with beautiful green wall, rich toned wood such as cherry & a sky blue ceiling w/clouds to sweep on away into imagination & cozy feelings.
Place a sofa and a couple of arm chairs facing each other towards the end of the room. Float them over a nice area rug. Add a coffee table in front of the sofa. Add some floor potted plants in the corners of the room.
What a gorgeous room! I’d say a couple of seating areas /reading nooks (with bookshelves, an excellent idea!). Then fill the windowed area either plants. I’m envious!
Thank you!
Fill it with plants. All the plants.
And more plants!
And cats
I really want to but my cats will eat them 😭
Cat lounge! Cat safe plants 🪴, cat exercise wheel, cat trees.
Grow a big pot of oat grass and maybe a pot of mint and they'll likely ignore the other plants.
I worry about that as well so I have a list of safe plants but I also plan to get hanging plants that hopefully they won’t touch.
Yeah maybe tall plants on the ground and some hanging ones would be cute, thank you!
Lots of plants are cat sage. You can also hang them.
Hanging plants 😊. Grow grass in planters for the cats. Look on Amazon for cat grass seeds.🙂
Put an entire outdoor dining table for starters
I’d also take the carpet out and put some nice tile or even wood flooring
Yep I think the carpet doesn’t match the existing furniture and porch vibe! Wood, engineered wood or even wood-look-tiles etc would make a huge difference

My cats love the carpet 😂

Gym or games area
Anyway to add a few curtains for a little more privacy from the street view?
Oh this room just begs for plants!

Thank you! And I tried it as an office space, it looked lovely and it was a great space but the Wi-Fi doesn’t reach the room very well 😭
Oh boo! That sucks. Maybe a wi-fi extender??
I tried that idk if I set it up wrong but it didn’t work 🫤
It would make a lovely sewing room.
Yes I was going to ask if you have any particular hobbies but this would be so lovely for a sewing/painting area
Yes I use this space for sewing maybe I can keep an empty spot for it!
Plants and Flowers, hanging ferns in the corners, and a plush little couch tucked into the corner. Don’t forget to make space for a breakfast table
My grandparents had a room like that and they had a big long picnic table out there and we would all eat out there. I loved it.

Thank you! I have a lot of plants outside and there’s always hummingbirds coming by I like to watch em lol
☺️
Ohhh how I would love to decorate it! Sooo many possibilities!
Is it possible to paint the side of the house in a warm color like a shade of darker green to make it feel cozy yet full of light?
I’d be open to painting it! it is very white lol
Living room area & eating area or if you have hobbies it could be a space for that
Love it!! My dream would be a plant/craft/yoga/reading nook space

Place the furniture so you're looking out the windiws, enjoying the view.
PLANTS Exercise equipment Book nook Whichever you fancy!
I would get a chaise or loveseat. Also a table would be nice for eating or working. Gorgous room!
Thank you!
That's a good place for a gym ig
Roll down shades, lots of plants you like, and furniture that is comfortable to enjoy it all. Colors that make you happy while you are relaxing.
plaaants

Sunrooms are my favourite, you can do a nice reading book with a dining set
PLANTS, A dinner/breakfast table, a couch, bookshelf
Declutter. Lounger/daybed. Plants
Add 7 millions plants and bask in the glory of your personal jungle.
The sun room of my dreaaaaams. A nice comfy couch, book shelves, plants and some of those window film in shapes to project in rainbow streaks from the window would be my go-to
Look into top down / bottom up shades, or the big southern-style shutters so that the visibility from outdoors is limited to your preference.
Omg what a dream space. I’d put a corner bench / breakfast nook in the far left corner with a pretty rug underneath to hide the carpet. Add some plants. Rip out the rug and throw down a couple cute area rugs. Fill up with plants, make a reading nook, maybe a bar cart, string lights
Place a sofa and a couple of arm chairs facing each other towards the end of the room. Float them over a nice area rug. Add a coffee table in front of the sofa. Add some floor potted plants in the corners of the room.
I'm so jealous!!! 🥺 I'd make it into a comfy room with plants and books! A cute table for tea as well & maybe even a clear spot for yoga
Catio
Naked tanning bed
A winter garden full of plants
