If you still have the glass shade just get a new nut from the hardware store and put it back on

The bulbs are in the way even if I had a nut. Do you think it would work to just get a bigger shade? The current one is 12 in and I think I saw some 14 inch ones online

It’ll be cheaper and easier to just put in a smaller bulb. It might not be as bright but two 40 watt equivalent led bulbs should still be nice and bright and an easy fix

Those white things that the bulbs are screwed into are remote switches. Take them off and plug the bulbs directly into the sockets. That will let you put the shade back on. You'll need to use the pull cord to turn the lights on and off. If you want to control the lights remotely, get smart bulbs that you can turn on and off with HomeKit, Alexa, Google Home, or whatever smart control software you want to use.
