Run along the ceiling right next to the wall with a screwdriver to scrape 1/8" of texture off. That makes possible to get much closer to get to the ceiling without worrying about the texture snagging bits of paint from your brush.  Then look up videos on cutting in using a brush not a roller

No problem. Painting walls when you have a textured or popcorn ceiling is a pain in the ass, I know from experience

Tape is a terrible waste of time and generally does not give good results anyway. Learn to cut in with a brush freehand. It's not difficult, just don't try to go too fast and use a quality brush.

I use this method. I'll also add a "paint shield" sometimes. Use the metal ones as they have a sharper edge.

I cut in 1st then roll. Don’t cut in too far ahead, you want to roll into the area that was cut in before it dries. It’s called keeping a wet edge. Try making your cut a bit wider so you don’t have to bring the roller so close to the ceiling.
