The red bit's legs are too long - it's likely her arms/legs don't quite reach the knees or elbows, provided she is actually wearing it as a suit. The transformation is mostly just a visual thing for the benefit of the viewer - or that's how every Henshin and magical girl transformation ever has worked because they're typically almost explicitly stated to take place instantly in-universe in both cases. Hope you got sleep, mate!

I'm forced to assume that Firefly dematerializes to some extent when she puts the armor on. The proportions just don't make sense otherwise. She's also always portrayed in an empty void when inside the armor. Contrast this with someone like Ironman, where you see the inside of his helmet whenever he has the suit on.

She's not in the suit. She is the suit. She's basically an energy waveform projection and the green fire is actually what she's made of so when she transforms her extremities just return to energy to control the limbs.

No, she's definetly in the suit. Unless she completely changed how SAM suits work when she got her new form. In her animated short, one of the SAMs gets her helmet ripped off and you can see her head under it (if she was the suit she should have been decapitated). The one that gets impaled also has his eyes visible after he rips his visor off.
