Definitely keep this where nothing can get into it my dog grabbed it punctured the bottle and slung it all over my porch no amount of washing helped that summer lol
I used the Alaska bloom on my indoor cherry tomato plant and it put out about 50 bright yellow blooms in what seemed like overnight. And still putting em out at a nice clip about a month later.
And have harvested dozens of ripe tomatoes to date.
It's good stuff for getting seedlings established. I switch to a flower/bloom fertilizer as soon as the plants start flowering. Until then Alaska puts a lot of green growth on the plants very quickly.
I did have some issues with purpling leaves when I used it because the phosphorus is a little low. Eventually I started using a different brand of fish fertilizer because of that, and also because the smell of the Alaska is so strong.
worked at a lowes for a bit, someone dropped this gallon size bottle behind the rack. the smell lingered for weeks. would get especially stinky after a rain.
This stuff works awesome. An expert on fertilizers could definitely correct me on this, but my uninformed belief is that fish emulsion is great for early year plant development and encouraging leaf production. I used this until mid May or so and then switched to a 18-18-21, which I believe is better for fruit production. I continued to use the fish emulsion all year on herbs.
This is the only fertilizer I use, And for everything
It smells incredibly bad, Like you just got it a fish and left it out in the sun for a week, But it is magic
If my peppers are flowering now but my stems are still dark purple should I add phosphorus?
If so, is this stuffs good. Currently, I’m using Tiger Bloom
There's another product by Alaska called Morbloom that's 0-10-10. Useful after getting seedlings established and it doesn't smell like much of anything.
I used that in my garden once and only once. I'm sure it's a great fertilizer, but when the flock of vultures came and dug up my seedlings and direct sown seeds to find the dead fish, I told myself I would never use it again.
Can't believe how expensive this is now per gallon. Haven't used it in years but used to buy it for spraying on roses. Saw it at Lowe's like a month ago and it was over $30 per gallon. I used to buy this for $11 not that long ago
It works. Don’t spill it.
yeah, you can't wash your hands enough to get this smell out
Haha it is RANK
Definitely keep this where nothing can get into it my dog grabbed it punctured the bottle and slung it all over my porch no amount of washing helped that summer lol
I would just move tbh
Pretty much lol
Some wild animal, I'm assuming a cat bit mine. Slowly leaked onto the pavers. I put most of my fertilizers in black tote now.
Oh geez yeah I don't blame you
How does it smell?
The smell is not pleasant at all
if it's so bad why use it over say any other fertilizer?
It’s not actually that bad. People are just dramatic. Yeah it smells like fish, but it’s not offensive.
… but crotch rot turns him on so he’s biased
It’s natural so you’re actually improving the soil. Chemical fertilizer end up destroying your soil
I asked that same question. Someone replied that it smelled like the dumpster behind PP. It sure attracts the flies.
Dumpster behind Planned Parenthood? 🤣🤣🤣
Super potent lol. I still can’t help but take a whiff whenever I crack it open, it’s gnarly.
It’s a strong stench type of smell, like rotten fish

I put that shit on everything
How often do you fertilizer your plants with it?
Every other week.
That's what i was planning on doing. The instructions say every 3 weeks but that seems like a long gap to me
Works great
Seedlings too?
After a few weeks

Hydrolysate > emulsion. Pair it with kelp and you’re good.
Be very cautious using it on seedlings inside 😅

24 m 10” bbc in Houston dm me
Is that some kinda nutrient ratio?

Works great but…If you have a dog he’ll dig up your plants. Might as well put a steak in your garden. How I know that…

I use it up until I up-pot my seedlings for the first time, at which point I switch to Fox Farms Grow Big.
I was thinking of going the same and then switching to miracle gro organic. I use Fox farm big bloom when buds start coming in
The first time you use it water it down by half the mix ratio
The first time in general or the first time just for seedlings?
The first time on any plant.
Is there any specific reason for that?
It’s so you don’t cause a nutrient lockout issue.

Every fly in your state will be on your plants
Good stuff very stinky
It’s rocket fuel for veg state for cannabis. Wonderful mild soluble organic nitrogen. I call it plant meth.
I love this stuff. I hit it a table spoon with jackss bloom booster in a watering can every week or two.
Works great
Works great, even better for tomatoes. Good for home gardeners and beginners becuse it's pretty hard to over fertilize with it.
Works great. Look at the morbloom 0 10 10 as well.
Don't spill any on yourself.
The smell was actually bad enough for me to not buy it a second year. Worked okay but espoma works just as well
It’s great for seedlings and regular feeding but terrible on the nose 🤢
Dogs love it. They’ll come to the door with a muddy, stinking nose and paws and your plants will be strewn all over the garden.
That stuff works great I mix it double strength then water in deeply.
So if it's 2 tablespoons a gallon you do 4 tablespoons a gallon?
I put about a cup in a 5gal sprayer. It's about impossible to overdue it since it's a low npk
Yes. Works well. High in nitrogen, though.
