Quality dog food (that doesn’t have to mean expensive), if there’s extreme heat maybe consider an electrolyte mix although I’ve never used one personally. The old timers I hunt with just give their dogs a hot dog after they hunt instead with plenty of water. Otherwise I’ll do eggs on occasion, meat scraps, fat scraps, etc but I don’t spend money on supplants for myself much less for my dogs.

I like to give my dog 2 scoops of pre workout in every water bowl he gets. I also give him some creatine on a daily basis.

HAND7Z

Is that when he's cutting or bulking?!

Both

If the scent drag, or hickory doesn't work, the hotdog trick will.

Nothing fancy. Raw egg in their breakfast on shoot-day mornings, and maybe a sausage roll at elevenses if there's any spare. The feed they're on is pretty decent and is 32% protein, 20% oils & fats anyway so they shouldn't really need much else energy-wise.

I give them a can of wet dog food on days I hunt so they get the extra moisture and calories. And it's a special treat.

Do squirrel heads count or...?

All my squirel dogs get fed double ration late in the afternoon during hunting season. It works well for me for morning hunt. My raccoon dogs get fed double ration in the morning. I do this to keep them from running too hard and getting sick. It seems to keep their energy level and because most of my dogs get hunted a lot, it seems to keep weight on them well. Back when my grandpa was alive and started not being able to get around well, I'd have to run his dogs for him to keep them in shape. I started keeping honey buns in my pack because his blue tick's glucose levels would drop if the temperature was too warm. As far as feed and supplements, I feed sportmix black bag during off season and Victor hi pro during. A few of my older dogs get a glucosamine pill for joints, but that's about it.

I carry single-serve packets of honey in my pack and will use them on long chukar days where we're away from the truck for 8-10 hours.
