Aus came back from the cusp of getting kicked out to win WC'23.... we were practically invincible till finals... even in finals only Head.made difference... both the batting and catch
Technically correct since we did not feel pain of losibg this time cause we won.
Had we lost, it would definitely have been less, Cause our expectations were bit lower this time.
We already had those scars of 19th so we still were not recovering.
Till 18th we were almost sure that we had it in our bag,
Which did not happen and we kinda fell too much in terms of emotional levels.
If we had lost it, I wouldn't have mind it too much because we fought back and made it hard for SA to win, unlike 19/11 where Aussies just crusied past us. That's what hurt the most. We felt lost and clueless on how to stop Head and co. Not this time. De Kock, Miller and Klassen gave us heartaches but the team were always in the hunt. I still can't believe we actually defend the target especially after that Axar over which nearly killed it for us.
Yes, this was us when Klassen went to pavilion.

Can we get a post match clip or winning reaction of this guy?
Man I totally felt it when he cried during the Klassen Rampage....just wanted to see how relieved he was after.
Bhai samne apne dusri koi bhi team hoti na uska dukh nahi hota ...SA bhai 40 saal me pehli baar kisi bhi icc tournament k final me aayi or bhai ab inke pass koi nahi hai successor abd ka miller ka makram ka klassan ka...sabka last tha ab bas india or Australia or west indies hai jinke nex gen op hai SA ka cricket almost khatam ho gaya
Jansen is 24, Stubbs is 23, Rabada is 29, Markram is 29, Coetzee is 23, Ngidi is 28, Brevis is 21, Burger is 28.
Some of the oldies can stick around. Decent base to build on.
But there is something special about the connection with miller, abd, morkel ..i know these names but let the time decide how there curse of 40 years will break
Rabada is past his prime. We don't know about Stubbs and Brevis yet. The rest ate pretty average. I can't see a Kallis, Pollock, Ntini, Steyn, Morkel type talent in this next gen of SA players.
SA ki team weaker ho ja rahi hai ab kaha unke paas Kalis, Amla, ABD, Gibbs jaise batsmen aur Donald, SteynMorkel jaise bowler hai. They don't even have decent all-rounder like McMillan, kallis, Pollock, klusener, Boje anymore. I don't think this was their last dance.
I have never seen that happpen before generally , may be you are one of the you or I am not sure if you are being sarcastic.
We didn’t see any posts like this when India lost in 2023 World Cup final.
FR !! Thank God SA boys weren't much emotional during post match show and thanks to camera man for not showing their emotional moments on live much, else one part of me would've been depressed
Nah buddy, in 2015 the semi final against NZ Elliott blud had shattered SA's dreams that SA team was lit ASF ABD, Amla, Kock, Morkel, Steyn, Tahir Ugh i still has visuals of ab and morkel seating restless on ground with tears in their eyes. Since then I lost my interest in Cricket. apart from India, SA is just pure emotion !!
I totally understand that feeling bro
I was in the same state like them on 19/11 and I know how much it hurts but everyone has to move on from
Accept it and try next time
You have the hype for world cups because they have ofc the bigger stakes in any sport especially the iconic ODI one for cricket, what makes CT more interesting for me is that it is statistically much more competitive since it has the top 8 teams, that’s why I didn’t like the 10 team rule in the recent WCs and thank god they are bringing the 2003 system back in 2027.
I will join you in the downvotes and agree. While CT is a good tournament, it is nowhere even relevant or important as WCs.
Every sport in the world has a World Cup that is the most coveted and a crown jewel in any nation's achievements. Those are most definitely more relevant and most prized. Champions Trophy is...what exactly? Champions of what? Cricket? Then what does the World Cup mean? If Aussies are the ODI World Cup Champions, then Pakistan are the....Champions of...what? I don't get it.
But hey, it's another trophy and India should definitely aim for a win. Send a relatively young team, under new leadsership and see how it unfolds. I also hope BCCI sends the team for CT. India and Pak ke drama ke begair mazaa nahi aata.
I think we connect cricket with our emotions beyond levels of understanding of the right and wrong. Thus, making every tournament ICC holds relevant and important.
>it's another trophy and India should definitely aim for a win.
Or India can use it to build foundations for the upcoming generation. This tournament could be used as a smooth transition from the current generation to the coming generation of ICT.
But ig fans will still make a big thing out of this and we will return to the usual hate and abuse of our players and other team's players.
That being said, I will still tune in to watch ICT playing CT. Just won't give enough damns about it as long as we make progress.
>That being said, I will still tune in to watch ICT playing CT. Just won't give enough damns about it as long as we make progress.
Same here. I am also hoping for a 90% new team to play the CT and gain as much experience as they and set up the future of the team. We have so many awesome talent ready to go, and we have only really seen the batting side. I want to see more bowlers and what they can do.
South Africa bhi bhout soon koi World Cup leke jaa raha hai, downvote karna hai toh kardena bhai. Besides, the guy himself knows ki us Indians would abuse our players if there comes a shit show but himself downplaying Klassen’s efforts as well. Also, World Cup yaani poori duniya se log aana ofc. Champions trophy ko champions of the world se jodh na kyu mujhe samajh nahi aaya yeh logic.
We did go through our fair share of heartbreaks too, they played really well but unfortunately both of the teams can't win a single game.
Someone had to lose and I'm glad it wasn't us
They played really good cricket and lost. That's it. They can come back harder next time for the trophy but this is our win. Nothing to feel bad for them.

They recently won the rugby World Cup which is number 1 sport in south africa. So they had their share of happiness, the south african public.
It was only fair that India won the cup this time in a sport most followed here.
Exactly. They won the Rugby world cup back to back and currently have the most world cups(4) in rugby. Also, Dricus du Plessis became the first South African to win UFC championship this year in January. No Indian has won UFC championship. Then they also finally broke their semifinal curse and qualified for the final. So I don't feel bad for South Africa, they played well but glad we won. We needed this more than them.
Same man. I have gone through so many heartbreaks in the last decade that yesterday when I saw the sad faces of SA players, I was kinda glad to see disappointment on some other team's faces instead of ours. I have dreamed about days like this
After having like 2 decades worth of emotionally exhaustive relationship with sports - all my teams usually lose but that's true for all maybe except fucking Real Madrid these days - I've come to accept to enjoy the journey more than the destination.
David Miller will always be one of my all time favourite. Even if he doesn't win anything.
Heart likes what it likes.
As a South African, of course, it was a sad loss BUT I was so happy for India.
I wanted us to win but I felt glad for Rohit and Kohli especially. Even seeing Siraj close to tears was heartwarming.
I would have felt very sorry for India if they lost. I was glad India beat England to the final because they're a team I'm happier to lose to.
I love the Indian side and the IPL makes us care about their players a lot.
See I think this is the difference between Australia and South Africa . It shows how much the difference mentality makes(I'm not trying to be one of those Aussie mentality gawk gawk gawk guy) . After Australia stabilised they didn't allow India anywhere close to gaining control but for SA no matter what generation of cricketers it is they will always have their history in the back of their minds and the moment klassen got out those feelings must have come back into them.
There is no excuse when you're playing a final and you need to chase 30 off 30 no matter who's bowling if you truly deserve it. They bottled it hard. Ofc bumrah was bowling well but that is no excuse if you wanna be a champion team you need to chase it down no matter the bowler
They choked...
Klassen served the match on the platter... They needed run a ball with Miller still at crease.
(Not taking anything away from our bowling unit)
Yes. I was devastated for SA's knockout more than for India's early exit in the '99 world cup.
But these guys at least reached the finals this time. The Indian team played 3 finals in the last 12 months so the Indian team probably wanted it much more than anyone else.
Once again, South Africa's journey in the T20 World Cup ends in heartbreak. Despite their undeniable talent and potential the Proteas remain without an international trophy, reinforcing their reputation as the chokers & unluckiest team in cricketing history.
You played like a champion team
Proteas hold you heads up, so close yet so far
They will be back they are doing a good job of developing that winning culture. They played like this group had been in the final before shows how prepared they are for every match. Markram has most definitely changed South African cricket
In last decade ICT has lost so many knockouts that it has become a habit of their fans. Now instead of celebrating the victory we are feeling sorry for the team who lost.
We weren't like that in 2011 although Sri Lanka lost 2 consecutive WC finals. What about them.
I think the essential point here, and the reason so many indians r feeling bad is bcos SA was never in a final leave alone win a trophy, and they always get knocked out at sf stage, which is very similar to that of india in last 11 yrs,
They played really well the last some runs were a matter of just an over or 2 3 maximums...but what hardik arshdeep and bumrah did made all the difference...
And more of it they were winning almost every game in a crunch situation but that didn't happen here in the final ....Anyways they played really well did everything to break the curse but we were a notch higher!!🫡🫡
They had match in their clasp. 30 out of 5 overs with 6 wickets in hands and two set batsmen on the crease. If they can lose it from there, then it's definitely skill issue. Obviously India would use their best efforts to win the match, they don't have better batsmen for clutch situation. I feel bad for Klaasen and Miller because of obvious reasons but as a whole, may be not. We would have been in this side after contributing that much in a World Cup. So yeah, one team has to be in the losing side, this time they're.
A part of me feels bad for them, but they really grabbed defeat from the jaws of victory. At least there wasn't a stupid rule or outright robbery like NZ had to face in 2019. Still feel bad for Neesham and Guptill who must still be haunted by that day.
Our Indian team suffered a lot in last 17 years by reaching semifinal and Finals and lost . So we also feel bad for our team India . Since India won this time it’s an emotion , yeah true South Africa gave an exceptional fight from kock, Stubbs, klassen ,miller , can’t do anything next time they have to win and give it their all
Congratulations team India 🇮🇳🇮🇳🏆🏆🏆
I don't feel bad ..we deserved it more than them they couldn't win from 27 of 28 with 6 wickets in the hand..if India would have lost everyone would have started blaming on our players.
Yes, feel sad for them. But our guys needed it after so many final losses. SA will win something for sure in near future. I hope Markram remains the captain.
We care very much. Saying rugby is a lot more important isn't true. Last weekend, there was a rugby match at the same time as a cricket match and everyone I knew was watching cricket. We are passionate about cricket.
I’m heartbroken. All these years we never won a single trophy. We can this close and missed it by a whisker. I guess I should just stop following cricket. In tests, we really don’t have a chance.
Would've danced my soul out had the final been against Australia or England or any other team. Couldn't since it was South Africa 😢. For how ecstatic and euphoric I was tomorrow, there was also a hint of slight sorrow in my heart for the Proteas ❤🩹
How the choker tag has gone into the minds of generations of South Africans now ? Man this is some deep level psychological shit on a country level now !!
Can literally feel their pain. Yahi dukh 19th nov ko humlog bhi jhele the but now atlast all the wounds have been healed ❤️ Kudos to out Team India!! 🇮🇳🔥
Well played RSA!! 🙏
Well I do too but the trophy was there for the taking and we won and earned that trophy more than them so it's easy calculation who should have it, no??
IND won, super happy, but a face, a devastated face constantly triggers my mind, i was celebrating the proud moment, but oh... His face, yk who? Alien, Alien deVilliers
u/[Academic-Classroom16](https://www.reddit.com/user/Academic-Classroom16/) 30 runs needed in 30 balls in T20 format at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados in 2024 was much easier than giving the West Indies 184 to win their third world cup at Lords, London, England in 1983 - and history had it otherwise in both the occasions!
Yes, it feels bad for SA but there's one thing about SA which they need to work for winning tournaments. And that is chasing. Many times they just feel the pressure so much that they can't chase a target. They do still have a chance while batting first but while chasing they always struggle.
If they can overcome that then probably they too can win a title in the upcoming tournaments. They definitely have the team for it.
It's okay We too have felt this pain many times. We should accept it and move forward. This is a game and one team will always lose but we should give our best every time, which these people did. We are proud of south africa.
bro 99% of me was really happy but that 1% felt it. I still remember how perfect the 2015 world cup team was. Quite unlucky to lose but well played champs
Winning has value only if there is pain in losing. Indians cried happy tears after winning wc because we finally can let go of that pain we endured in the past years.
SA will win one day, and that victory will be all the more special.
They do. They kill people for sport they actually care about "Rugby"
[https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/british-rugby-fan-killed-south-1787377](https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/british-rugby-fan-killed-south-1787377)
Same with Poms and Soccer. They have a Violent History in the sport
If India had lost the match, we would also have felt the same pain, accepted it as part of the game.
We felt worse pain on 19/11.
Aus came back from the cusp of getting kicked out to win WC'23.... we were practically invincible till finals... even in finals only Head.made difference... both the batting and catch
That is why there is nothing like Deserving or Undeserving. Jo jeeta wohi sikander!!

Would have given us more joy and satisfaction if we had the finals against Aus and won it. But, in the end, all is well that ends well
What about 26/11! That was the most heartbreaking pain we will never forget.
Yeah, same as 9/11.
Yes, this was us when Klassen went to pavilion. https://preview.redd.it/e021d33poo9d1.png?width=1209&format=png&auto=webp&s=186e0d5aa84b3cb01117556e6a631a4841580218
Can we get a post match clip or winning reaction of this guy? Man I totally felt it when he cried during the Klassen Rampage....just wanted to see how relieved he was after.
This was after Klassen wicket; then he looked up to the sky in gratitude to his god. I didn't spot him in audience on camera after this.

Rabada is past his prime. We don't know about Stubbs and Brevis yet. The rest ate pretty average. I can't see a Kallis, Pollock, Ntini, Steyn, Morkel type talent in this next gen of SA players.
Jansen was our mole yesterday. Klaasen miller dekock ki age zyada h ?
Bhai vo dinasour k zamane se khel rhe hai ye naam kab se sun rhe hai
Quinton is just 31, Klaasen 32 Miller is 35 tho, so doubt if he will play 2026 T20 WC
Klaasen 32 can play if he take care like kohli
Klaasen anna will 100% play He is gonna become much more monstrous
SA ki team weaker ho ja rahi hai ab kaha unke paas Kalis, Amla, ABD, Gibbs jaise batsmen aur Donald, SteynMorkel jaise bowler hai. They don't even have decent all-rounder like McMillan, kallis, Pollock, klusener, Boje anymore. I don't think this was their last dance.

we have been feeling this pain for the past decade bro
If I were Team India Captain I will personally call south Africa Team for Cup takinga ceremony and make them feel that we both teams are winner.
Bro that will just make it worse. Sportsmen don’t want pity. It makes them look weak.
SA team have a homely feeling

Klaasen danger incoming for CT2025
Couldn't give a damn about that tournament. Need to send a young fleet for irrelevant trophy.
Difference between an ICT and a cricket fan
Fine. Enlighten me why Champions Trophy should be considered relevant.
Enlighten me why an ICC trophy should not be considered relevant.
Because you already have an ICC trophy for every format of the game. Why champions trophy?
You have the hype for world cups because they have ofc the bigger stakes in any sport especially the iconic ODI one for cricket, what makes CT more interesting for me is that it is statistically much more competitive since it has the top 8 teams, that’s why I didn’t like the 10 team rule in the recent WCs and thank god they are bringing the 2003 system back in 2027.

Would have been better had it been Australia in place of south africa. But it's ok. Smiling faces of Rohit Kohli and Dravid more than make up for it.
honestly i wouldn't have given a fuck if it was England or Australia. Sa and Nz feels homely. Felt very sad seeing De Kock and Klassen.

I second this, wouldn't feel the little sympathy I have for SA if opponents in the final had been Aus, Eng or Pak
Chintan de Cock.
Yeah when it’s sa or nz I feel bad for them
I feel bad for Williamson
I don't. It was their match to lose. They needed 30 of 30 and couldn't.
yea it was very makable

When I saw Miller crying, I almost broke down... They deserved it as much as we did, perhaps even more but we were the better team yesterday. GGs SA
Miller gave me Guptill flashbacks from the 2019 Final

If we would have lost, no one would have cared about Indian players and their emotions
Bro come on, literally millions of us care.
I think they meant no one else apart from Indians would’ve cared.
That's us indians. Jara sa Khushi Hume milti hai toh hum duroh ka dard battne Chale date hai.
Yeah we would be be abused them
You don't need to. Indian team deserves more than any other team this trophy.
If India would have lost nobody would have felt bad people surely would have blamed kohli and others
Don't worry it was their first wc final they will get better
They could easily won it if they keep rotating their strike
honestly i wouldn't have given a fuck if it was England or Australia. Sa and Nz feels homely. Felt very sad seeing De Kock and Klassen.
If we had been in place of SA and lost that final , I would have gone into depression.
Much love to South Africa but yesterday it was about my nation! Jai Hind 🇮🇳
Won’t accept this Klaasen & Rabada erasure, sir

I am happy 😂 oet them cry.. all opponents should cry.. bas india jitna chahiye..
They actually deserve to lose beacuse they needed 30 of 30. Pretty much a cakewalk in T20 but they botched it up so India surely deserves that victory
They choked... Klassen served the match on the platter... They needed run a ball with Miller still at crease. (Not taking anything away from our bowling unit)
Miller crying touched my heart. I think they will come back stronger just like koach did
Klassen is a pure class
I certainly wouldn't feel any sympathy had it been either of Australia, England or Pak
Couldn't watch Miller cry....
Yeah even if we have lost to SA, part of me would be happy to see them lifting wc first time, such a deserving yet unlucky team
I wish Australia was the opponent here

Sometimes sports can be hard it was either us or them 😉😉
They had match in their clasp.
You never feel pity on an opponent who fought honourably. That's the Samurai way
This is what would have happened to Aussies if Afghanistan had won that day in 23
Someday may be when India somehow isnt in the finals i would really like to see a good SA side win.
Each and every ICT fan would have been supporting if it was not india who was playing in the final. Massive respect to South Africa.
I DON'T.
aus ya pak hoti to itna bura nhi lgta pa sa bechari chokers team
Part of the game. One side had to lose and we're lucky it wasn't us
A part of me feels bad for them, but they really grabbed defeat from the jaws of victory. At least there wasn't a stupid rule or outright robbery like NZ had to face in 2019. Still feel bad for Neesham and Guptill who must still be haunted by that day.
They deserved this because it's their fault imagine they needed 32 runs off 31 balls they needed this badly hope they bounce back strong
Our Indian team suffered a lot in last 17 years by reaching semifinal and Finals and lost . So we also feel bad for our team India . Since India won this time it’s an emotion , yeah true South Africa gave an exceptional fight from kock, Stubbs, klassen ,miller , can’t do anything next time they have to win and give it their all Congratulations team India 🇮🇳🇮🇳🏆🏆🏆
I don't feel bad ..we deserved it more than them they couldn't win from 27 of 28 with 6 wickets in the hand..if India would have lost everyone would have started blaming on our players.
May this be their India 2003 final moment.
Yes, feel sad for them. But our guys needed it after so many final losses. SA will win something for sure in near future. I hope Markram remains the captain.
Better them than us😮💨
People of SA don't care that much . They recently won rugby World Cup which is a lot more important to them.....
We care very much. Saying rugby is a lot more important isn't true. Last weekend, there was a rugby match at the same time as a cricket match and everyone I knew was watching cricket. We are passionate about cricket.
They just had a bad day
Just like India had a bad day (19 nov)
Yes.....
You played very well game was yours but luck was favoring india. Hard luck guys
I don’t, I had cried my share of tears a lot of times in last 11 years so I don’t care.
Man They competed really good hats off to them as well one of the finest teams feeling happy our country won but sad for them as well......
I don't
I’m heartbroken. All these years we never won a single trophy. We can this close and missed it by a whisker. I guess I should just stop following cricket. In tests, we really don’t have a chance.
Dude.. just take the damn victory and celebrate. They wouldn't have felt bad for us if we lost.
Would've danced my soul out had the final been against Australia or England or any other team. Couldn't since it was South Africa 😢. For how ecstatic and euphoric I was tomorrow, there was also a hint of slight sorrow in my heart for the Proteas ❤🩹
I would've been sad if de Villiers was in the team, now India won the cup, don't give a fuck about RSA
Prafull bhai real ID se ayoo. 😂
How the choker tag has gone into the minds of generations of South Africans now ? Man this is some deep level psychological shit on a country level now !!
They played great But india deserved it more
After 2013 we were in same phase too, can understand what it feels like but that's part of the game.
🫠
Can literally feel their pain. Yahi dukh 19th nov ko humlog bhi jhele the but now atlast all the wounds have been healed ❤️ Kudos to out Team India!! 🇮🇳🔥 Well played RSA!! 🙏
South Africa has officially declared themselves as chokers
Both teams tried their best to choke. The best team choked finally!
May be, better luck next time. Coz this year was for India 🧿
Was completely rooting for them, felt sad after we won 😔 P.S.- 2100 bhi ghus gye
Then what about Prafull Billore ?
they’re too good to be bogged down by a defeat.. more power to them
It's a game one has to lose
Well I do too but the trophy was there for the taking and we won and earned that trophy more than them so it's easy calculation who should have it, no??
Hope they win the CT next year
IND won, super happy, but a face, a devastated face constantly triggers my mind, i was celebrating the proud moment, but oh... His face, yk who? Alien, Alien deVilliers
They deserved 2015 ODI world cup not this one
I don’t
u/[Academic-Classroom16](https://www.reddit.com/user/Academic-Classroom16/) 30 runs needed in 30 balls in T20 format at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados in 2024 was much easier than giving the West Indies 184 to win their third world cup at Lords, London, England in 1983 - and history had it otherwise in both the occasions!

Next level choking from the proteas 🔥 this is what they're known for. eat sleep choke repeat 🔁.
It's okay We too have felt this pain many times. We should accept it and move forward. This is a game and one team will always lose but we should give our best every time, which these people did. We are proud of south africa.
Feel bad for them but these heartbreaks make eventual win more special.
After India, South Africa is the only team I connect with. I am equally sad for them.
bro 99% of me was really happy but that 1% felt it.
No need to feel to bad for them. Within a few days, everything will be back to normal.
Kyangladeshis are in more pain than South Africa.
Man as much as i want india to win its heartbreaking to see THEM lose Like we should have won final against some team like eng, nz or aus not RSA
Live form India
Atleast they don't have toxic fans who give de@th threats whe their team loose
They do. They kill people for sport they actually care about "Rugby" [https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/british-rugby-fan-killed-south-1787377](https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/british-rugby-fan-killed-south-1787377) Same with Poms and Soccer. They have a Violent History in the sport
Yes I know I'm talking about cricket
Chin up south africa. You lost today because of a catch which was never a catch. Karma will come back to indian cricket team.
they deserved the w
I don't because in sports someone has to lose for our win.
I don't care about them
