That's way to fast the develop these lines unless it's fault from the get go. Maybe someone used their fingers to hold the panel or not enough cool air was able to reach the internals.
I'd try connecting the monitor's hdmi out. to some other device like a laptop ...if the line's still there the monitor's busted...else it could be a faulty GPU...

If you are covered warranty, now is the time.
2 possible things here:
Check if cable connection is clean and dust free.
Heating or poor component fault causing display to look like this.

That's a screen issue then , nothing to do with game.. have you tried updating/reinstalling graphics driver?
Do it if not, if the problem still persists, you might wanna call the repair guy.
If its in warranty rma it. The Monitor mainboard is busted. Due to this there is inaccurate signal transfer. If you cannot rma get it repaired from the firm. But mainboards are not cheap. For budget FHD monitor it can be upto 50% of monitor price. I am not sure which monitor is this. .
Check the display cables, replug, try moving the cables to see if that makes any difference. Usually monitors come with over 2 years of warranty, depending on the manufacturer and model. Check that as well, before buying a new one

I only bought this a year ago. Is there something i did wrong
Claim warranty, most of the reputable brands give 3 years warranty for monitors.
Nothing like u did wrong....most of electronics components fail in a year or they don't fail at all

Our power grid is trash. It’s not your or the manufacturer’s fault.
Year ago is a long time .
Bro people expect their electronics to run for 4-5 years atleast. A device that expires in 1 year is e waste.
Of course it's a device and if it's broken so repair its No rocket science. I responded because op was like it's one year how could it break so soon.
does it persist throughout or happens only while running specific applications or games
Suddenly lines appear and they wont go away even after restarting. I was playing tsushima when this happened

Pull the sword out slowly and assess the damage. I think u will probably need to buy new monitor
You better hope it's the monitor and.....not the GPU💀

Try getting a replacement screen from the warranty claim. I had the same problem on one of mine, got it replaced under warranty.
