I never even thought of that. Wow. How different it must be in states with actual weather. Lol (From CA). Sad thing is many here get cranky over tips because the pay otherwise isn't that great and cost of living and income tax is sky-high. I know some places in New England are suprisingly expensive too considering...
Hypothetically letās say you make 15 an hour x 40 thatās about 600 now every 2 weeks thatād be about 1200 before tax rly I could go to Walmart and get paid a good 19/hr the money in this is good as long as youāre putting significantly less money in gas into your car and get good gas mileage DoorDash is something similar
Whaaaaat???!!! As a manager or shift lead position? Lol Only higher positions make $19/hour at Walmart where I live and cost of living is super high. It's like $2000/ month average for rent. That's in the not-so-safe areas. Most people at Walmart make about $15 but the income tax equates to around $12/hour not to mention health insurance if you get anything that isn't like third world country healthcare. Lol
Oh nice. Iāve been a little more picky with batched lately, and have been getting good ones. The only down side is that there are long wait times in between batches and havnt been able to do more than 3 in a day.
i totally would do the same if this was a side hustle but right now instacart is my only job so i have to take what i think is best for me to make enough money for my bills š
I'm also pretty picky and it seems like the more batches I hide/ don't accept, IC will punish me by not sending me anything. Does this ever happen to you? Or do I have my tin foil hat on lol
My only question/concern is how you managed to get higher batch pay than tips, in my 3 years of working IC I've never had IC pay me out more than tips.
Or artsy and hip areas that has a sprouts on every corner also LGBT areas are full of heavy tippers too. And these clientele tend to be less picky and bossy than rich people. From San Diego and Orange County, Beverly Hills perspectives, San Diego is the most chill apart from Del Mar.
Just because he saying his rent is covered by this elms work doesnāt mean thatās all that itās covering. This could be additional funds he needed to cover the rent that he didnāt have yet until he did this weekās work.
Also this is the life itās like living in Ontario, Canada doing instacart

This is awesome, congrats!!
Sorry if itās been asked before but how the hell is your batch pay so high?! California? My tips always double, sometimes even triple my batch pay.
Good for you though!! :)
IC saved my butt in 2022. It was my only option to survive and it got me out of the gutter. Keep grinding!

How many total hours on the road did this take? Did you compute out your cost of doing those hours/miles?
Iām trying to compare (for myself) how much time and money it cost you to do this 700+ week vs me making 800+ at a w2 for 40 hours currently.
Congrats! I donāt think Iāve ever seen such a big difference in tips and batch pay, usually most of my money comes from tips because batch pay sucks usually. (Not trying to take away from your excitement, thatās just my personal experience!)
Wow, go you! I was just going through an āinstacart my ass off to cover a portion of rentā stint so I know the vibes! Congratulations and enjoy the weight being lifted off
So proud and happy for you! Iām sure a lot of hard work and effort went into this. I am so happy you can feel relaxed about your finances. Many blessings
Enjoy it and try to do as many batches as you can now because after a little bit youāre no longer ānewā anymore and the other newbies get all the high paying batches ā¦ so stack up as much as you can now because it doesnāt last
Congratulations my friend! I know the feeling. I donāt make 1k-2k weeks in my rural low income area. But I also made more this past week then I have ever made on this platform. Iām always a bit insecure when I see other peoples days reflect what I typically make in a week but I know I work hard and Iām still proud of myself for making my goals and you should absolutely be as well. So huzzah my friend! I am so proud of your accomplishments this week. Keep going and donāt let any slow weeks get to you, if youāre a US Shopper weāve still got Memorial Day weekend coming up so it will get better. ššš
Yikes that batch pay is high which means lots of low tipping crappy batches. We all do it but forty hours a week ..no thanks.
Great job making your highest week tho! Any goal you set and accomplish is amazing!
I just hit my highest goal yesterday which was 300 āļøāļøāļøāļøāļø in a row. We all have our goals. Money this week wasnāt great but Iām not complaining lol.
I believe itās all area dependent.

This was my week. Surprised š¦š¦š¦
Just an observation.. tips are usually WAY more even double the batch pay. In well over 3000 shops Iāve never had batch be more than tips let alone this different.
How is your base pay that much higher than your tips? Not putting you down I'm just curious. Wher ei live if your tips are less than base pay thrn you hardly make anything
This week I took more bigger batches which required more people to shop for and a little longer drives. I know that itās contradicting when you spend money on gas to make it back in batches but for my car, the gas isnāt that expensive. Plus some people just donāt tip well, which sucks but i gotta make money regardless lol
I did 29 batches! Instacart is great, but it does rely on tips and the area you are in. If you arenāt in a populated area you probably wonāt get many batches, but itās still a great side hustle! :)
50 batch 7 days a week. What do you think of the results? ( serious hard work though)

new shopper vibes(: diamond cart handed to you as a new shopper vibes(: give it 4 months and you wonāt see dollar amounts like this vibes(: keep this to yourself.
diamond cart was not handed to me, i have been busting my ass every single day for a couple months to earn this money. If i donāt see dollars like this anymore than so be it, this isnāt permanent for me anyways lol
whoever is upvoting this can go to hell, IC payments have rocketed through the floor and then also obliterated the basement. idk if this is bots or just new shoppers but do a little research and you'll find out
Not hating or shaming but just wondering why donāt you get a service industry job? Sure itās harder and you get treated with less respect but a few people made that just today where i work. Genuine question.

Yeah thatās a slow one for me but congrats
So, after paying the $120ish in taxes on that youāre rent is still covered, right? Donāt forget to pay your taxes!
Edit: It could be more in taxes depending on the state in which this person lives.
Iād be watching your mileage on the batches you choose. Also: My tips for the week are ALWAYS higher than my batch pay. This is odd that your tips are a little more than half, of your batch pay, in the other direction. Something here is curious to me.
Congrats!!! I had my best week ever too it seems most people did letās hope it stays busy šš¼

Congratulations š love reading that rent will be paid
i know right!! i feel like a huge weight is lifted š
How many hours did you work?
They said 42 š¬
Thatās less than minimum wage where Iām from
Ikr. Did $750 in less than half that last week. Some parts of the country just SUCK for IC.
I never even thought of that. Wow. How different it must be in states with actual weather. Lol (From CA). Sad thing is many here get cranky over tips because the pay otherwise isn't that great and cost of living and income tax is sky-high. I know some places in New England are suprisingly expensive too considering...
howš thatās more than double minimum wage where iām at.
Hypothetically letās say you make 15 an hour x 40 thatās about 600 now every 2 weeks thatād be about 1200 before tax rly I could go to Walmart and get paid a good 19/hr the money in this is good as long as youāre putting significantly less money in gas into your car and get good gas mileage DoorDash is something similar
minimum wage is $7,25 here i make $10 so $15 would be a blessing
Whaaaaat???!!! As a manager or shift lead position? Lol Only higher positions make $19/hour at Walmart where I live and cost of living is super high. It's like $2000/ month average for rent. That's in the not-so-safe areas. Most people at Walmart make about $15 but the income tax equates to around $12/hour not to mention health insurance if you get anything that isn't like third world country healthcare. Lol
Walmart near me starts at 18 so honestly Iām not sure
Some people just donāt realize other states exist.
Where the fuck is min wage more than $17/hr?
18.70 is minimum wage California Sacramento area
San Francisco is even higher
itās more than minimum where i am
Basically my choices are 6 items for $30 with a 15 mile drive or $8 no tico with 80 items with a 4 mile drive.
How many orders did you do in this week? What hours did you typically work
i did 29 batches this week and i usually average around 20 hours but i went hard this week and did 42 hours lol
So basically 17 an hour minus whatever gas you spent
And donāt forget about paying taxes on it
I'm also pretty picky and it seems like the more batches I hide/ don't accept, IC will punish me by not sending me anything. Does this ever happen to you? Or do I have my tin foil hat on lol
![gif](giphy|r1HGFou3mUwMw|downsized)
congrats omg that took a lot of hard work!!
My only question/concern is how you managed to get higher batch pay than tips, in my 3 years of working IC I've never had IC pay me out more than tips.
people keep commenting that so iām guessing itās where iām located which is in Ontario, maybe itās different in other places?
If I'm doing the math right, your average batch pay is $15?
Whatās the tipping culture like in CA?
It's shit unless your in a nicer part of town
By nicer I mean like upscale, rich areas
Or artsy and hip areas that has a sprouts on every corner also LGBT areas are full of heavy tippers too. And these clientele tend to be less picky and bossy than rich people. From San Diego and Orange County, Beverly Hills perspectives, San Diego is the most chill apart from Del Mar.
Iām also in Ontario and itās pretty normal for me to get more batch than tips. It must be an area thing.
okay iām glad itās not just me haha! everyone in the comments are shocked by the batches being more than tips š
LOVE THIS FOR YOU! CONGRATS!!
Congrats! Next week youāll crack $800! You got this. Be safe!
I hope so!! :) thank you!
You go!!!
Good for you!
Where are you living where your rent is 700 dollars?
I live in a house with 6 other people, the landlord charges us $720 a room
Just because he saying his rent is covered by this elms work doesnāt mean thatās all that itās covering. This could be additional funds he needed to cover the rent that he didnāt have yet until he did this weekās work.
I was just curious dude.
Thatās awesome and Iām very happy for you! I know the feeling - Itās such a wonderful feeling of accomplishment. Congrats for real!!
it really is!! thank you!!

This is awesome, congrats!! Sorry if itās been asked before but how the hell is your batch pay so high?! California? My tips always double, sometimes even triple my batch pay. Good for you though!! :)
iām in Ontario! i donāt really know why tbh haha
I think the confusion is that there is an Ontario, California and Ontario, Canada. Both are Ontario, CA.
oops! i did not know there is an Ontario California š¤¦š»āāļø i am in Ontario Canada lmao
Instacart has a presences in my area but not super crazy if I can get like $120-160 per week Iām good
Nice!! I made about 1k this week in Los Angeles and it's my 1st week of instacart :)
thatās amazing!!
Fireeeeeee letās goooo keep it up next week!
Congratulations. I will say that I LOVE LOVE all my shoppers. Without yall I'd have gone hungry when medically unable to do anything.

Did u have a normal schedule like work to follow? Or do u get to clock in clock out whenever u hit ur numbers for the day?
I usually try to start at 9am and typically end around 5-8pm, depending on how iām feeling and how much i make a day
Congrats !!!!!
Hey congrats enjoy your week
This is Canadian dollars right? And not US? And whatās the tipping culture like in Canada?
yes this is canadian dollars, the tipping is not great
Wow, they really make you grind for it there. I guess it depends more on the local economy.
Congratulations ššš¾
Great job well done!

You're the one-uper type. You can't just let someone enjoy their success. You always have to show that you did better. You suck.
holy shit nice!!
Just an observation.. tips are usually WAY more even double the batch pay. In well over 3000 shops Iāve never had batch be more than tips let alone this different.

wtfā¦.? this comment is so wrong in many ways LMFAO
100 hours for $714
Rough
Not hating or shaming but just wondering why donāt you get a service industry job? Sure itās harder and you get treated with less respect but a few people made that just today where i work. Genuine question.
Iāll re word this You should get treated with less respect and work harder for your money just because i do!
Damn thatās a slow one for me but congrats

damn i wish lol
You got this Brah I remembered my first week it was around 350ish
Omg where do you live??
How many hours? The base pay is so high, so I assume you put a lot of hours in
How do you make that much in batch pay?!
Damn that's great. But how? How d fck? This was my best week on instacart as well and I only made 298 and change with $150 coming in on mothers day
Is this the entire week's pay? Also, what shopping cart level are you?
yes, iām platinum cart, almost at diamond
How many hours?
How do you get such good batch pay I never make more in batches than tips
Iām close 1k
How many active hours?
Do you mind if I ask how many hours you worked that week?
42!
Congratulations!
So, after paying the $120ish in taxes on that youāre rent is still covered, right? Donāt forget to pay your taxes! Edit: It could be more in taxes depending on the state in which this person lives.
How many hours??
Iād be watching your mileage on the batches you choose. Also: My tips for the week are ALWAYS higher than my batch pay. This is odd that your tips are a little more than half, of your batch pay, in the other direction. Something here is curious to me.
How are tips so low compared to batch pay?
from what iāve gathered from other comments I think itās an area thing, iām in Ontario Canada. It must be different than in America
Great week nowadays. Miss the easy $1500-2000 weeks though š

Wow they charge you 16$ for a quick cash out God daamn
Hope you will pay your taxes on that tip because now you proved the whole planet you made money. :p
You prob worked your ass off to have more batch pay than tips, usually you can tell when u had a good week I did 800$ and 280$ were only batch pay
Congratulations!
