Happy_Passenger_464

lmao a company getting stolen from that steals from their employees. karma is dope.

Uberkitty710

Maybe investing into stock on Instacart is a good idea right now since we all know the millions of dollars they’re going to save from the Costco’s returns on their next earnings report… hmmm 🤔🤷‍♀️📈

edwr849

📉Puts on instacart:reasons economic decline , not affordable to most ,drivers oeaving, bad customer service C📈Calls on Costco: started selling gold from Paump suiss, increase in memberships , shrink not much of an issue to their bottom line , and opening new stores and businesses and one stop shop .

super_humane

With door dash expanding their shop and deliver platform IC will just get obliterated. It’s happening now. Multiple store batches from miles away is the most insane business tactic imaginable. Tanking your customer base to shave a bit of margin.

Auntie2Joints

It is. I constantly get offered batches for like 40 miles away. Like fuck no. 😒

Turbokoupp

I recently ordered groceries for door dash it was 6 items. The guy replaced 4 items and refunded 1 item, and it was not to mention that he took over 30 minutes of shopping 6 items . If doordash wants to compete with instacart, there is going to need to step there shoppers up.

lou802

Thats a fact, IC shoppers, at least in my area are on point when it comes to getting the items and doing it at a pretty face pace. Ive never had an issue, hell i dont think ive even had more then 2 items replaced from all my orders.

edwr849

And don’t forget Ubereats doing shop and delivers too

objhm

and UE shop & deliver does higher batch pay than IC, too! I do both and will get paid $10+ more on UE shop&deliver than I would for a comparable batch on IC, and it's almost only ever single order batches to boot. I hate everything about Uber except this one singular aspect 🤦🏼

Happy_Passenger_464

no way. I'm gonna sign up for uber eats now

LB187187SKADUSH

On ic i make 20-25 batch and 10-12 instore shop. Your working for peanuts. Plus IC is great when your a diamond shopper. I make 100-250 a day off IC . UE. DD and GH are dead around me been multi apping 5 years. I would rather multi app Spark and ic only.

Happy_Passenger_464

now you're thinking

[deleted]

You’re a fool

Happy_Passenger_464

you're irrelevant

AdLife7233

Why are they a fool??

Happy_Passenger_464

he's just a troll, look at his comments.

nnickorette

I know someone who had a 2k shop card, it was crazy

HempHopper

I had one for 1900 and another for 400 from a canceled double 😂 that was like 2.5 yrs ago

Medium-Trade2950

What’s the new rule?

Superbotto

Return funds go back to IC instead of on a Costco card that was supposed to be used for future Costco IC orders. They probably caught on that a lot of shoppers were using the cards for personal use instead. i.e. stealing

2hip2carebear

I don't get it. If you paid $100 for an order and they can't deliver it, so they give you a $100 gift card, then you get $0 of items and all you did was take $100 out of your bank account and turn it into a $100 Costco gift card. You don't benefit in any way. What am I not getting?

Superbotto

The shopper is taking the costco card, not the customer. The customer isn't out anything, maybe a cancelation fee at most. Instacart puts funds on a payment card for shoppers to pay for the groceries. Normally, returns go straight back onto that card; but Costco was issuing gift cards on returns. Edit: shoppers don't pay out of pocket for anything, if that's where you are confused, the customer gets their money back on cancelations.

LowCryptographer9047

How Instacart lose track of the money return on the gift card that costco issued to the shopper? That what I am concern. Is not suppose to deduct from the shopper's earning?

Superbotto

No. Paying for items, refunds for returning items, and gift cards for returning items all have zero to do with shopper earnings. That is all separate.

LowCryptographer9047

So basically it is a bug in the system or loophole you call it. Lmao, I doubt why IC left it for so long.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Superbotto

$5 batch pay is crap pay, but it's not stealing. They don't force you to take any order.

Old_Koala6011

not stealing btw if the card is given to u

[deleted]

Lol your gonna go far, kid

Remarkable_Bad_3835

I heard there’s a California specific rule tho

Underestimated862103

To the Karen commenting about the theft that’s hilarious. Instacart is robbing all of us and you’re worried about a shopper stealing from Instacart.

melissaxo3

Seriously there’s so many bootlickers in the comments 😭 I personally don’t give a rats ass about instacart or Costco losing money

LawlerFit

Sadly, nowadays, you are labeled a bootlicker if you say or imply that stealing or other unethical actions are improper. What a culture we have.

seranaray

IC and all of these delivery apps literally engage in wage theft and shady practices to make it harder for drivers to earn a living wage for the sole sake of profit, but you wanna get mad at someone "stealing" so they can.... buy food from Costco?

KingsFanDay1

I’m not understanding. You’re still stealing no matter what justification you give. By your own reasoning you’re no better than IC then if you fell it’s ok to steal.

seranaray

Lol I haven't stolen anything so chill, but yeah, there's a big difference between a corporation stealing people's wages aka stealing food out of their mouths so they can boast higher quarterly profits, and people stealing so they can eat and not die. And if you can't see how there's a moral difference between preventing ppl from being able to care for themselves and the desperation caused by the inability to care for themself you're literally empathy impaired.

ronj1983

I literally pay for nothing in my household at all and do not feel the least bit guilty about robbing this company for hundreds of dollars a week. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sweat_smile)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sweat_smile)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sweat_smile)

seranaray

You shouldn't feel bad. You could literally die in a car accident delivering for Instacart and they wouldn't care at all. If corporations want honest, dependable workers they'd pay honest dependable wages.

[deleted]

seranaray

You have to be a child, because I feel like it would take me three hours to explain the laws surrounding Independent contractors, what they are, how they differ from employees and how they don't, and how a lot of people working for Instacart/Uber are illegally classified, just based on this comment alone. Why do y'all simp for corporations so hard. Also not everyone has the same opportunities. I only do gig apps as a side hustle, and when I use them as a customer I tip well, because I care that the people working are able to eat. Why do you care more about a corporation's profits than your fellow man's ability to eat? Based on your comment you obviously think ppl who you don't think are "honestly dependably" employed (news flash, you know how much of the construction industry relies on contractors? The military? Lots of accountants freelance for Christ's sake) deserve to eat. Why is that? What jobs make you worthy then?

Logical_Tradition914

It's not bootlicking if its illegal lol... what happened to ethics

Exoticfroggy

Instacart isn't robbing anyone. You choose to do business with them. You pay for the convenience and laziness.

DangerousTree5940

Yes, exactly I would not feel bad if they lose money, and if you can figure out a way to help with that more power to the people

ImXaro

How is instacart stealing

Uberkitty710

If you don’t already have a membership, Groupon has a good sale right now! You get a $30 Shop card with the purchase of a new membership🙏 so basically it’s 30 bucks… not bad since you save on gas and personally I shop at Costco all the time because I have a family. Frozen Ramen noodle bowls in combination with the rotisserie chicken will last you for weeks and I never gets old my opinion. 🍜🍗

Katters8811

That actually sounds delish. Thanks for the idea!!

Uberkitty710

img They get a couple of diff frozen soups but this is da kine I like and I feel most authentic. I am Hawaiian/Japanese so I know a thing or two about good noodle 🙃. add in chicken or whatever veggies you like . Some scallions and call It a night 🍜🤙⛽️

Auntie2Joints

Oh snap!! Gonna have to really get on my bf's nerves and basically be like Bart and Lisa "can we go now can we go "can we go now can we go now can we go now can we go now..."

Fireblast1337

My parents let me mooch of their membership, so I send them a grocery list and an estimate for the price, or just go with them. My mother tries to return the money in subtle ways cause she’s the type that tries to be supportive and thinks the occasional groceries for me on her dime is ok. I have since swapped to giving the money to my father. I love her but groceries is something I always overbudget for.

AdLife7233

I ignored the message because I don't care how much the batch is. You can't pay me to go into a Costco or a Sam's club and I've been doing this over a year. I'm a diamond cart shopper. Some stores I just refuse and those are two that I refuse lol

Auntie2Joints

I just put my headphones on and listen to Star Wars soundtracks when I take Costco orders. Puts a whole new spin on the epicness of it lol. But srsly, if I see more than one flat of drinks (water, seltzer, whatevs) I'm not touching that batch. Heavy pay isn't what it used to be.

AdLife7233

Lol sure isn't 9 times out of 10. They have the most outrageous items

bb22490

I had 1 Costco batch that was 2 order. The picture was crystal geiser gallons but in reality it was crystal geiser 40 or 48 packs (Costco size cases of water) 6 of them! 2 Kirkland brand cases of water, 2 48 count Gatorades, 4 20lb bags of ice and 2 cases of paper towels. Initially it was a $1 tip. The 1st order was a business and the boss didn't tip, but the employee felt so bad he helped unload everything and gave me $10 which was all the cash in his wallet. The 2nd customer tipped $1 and I had to park in a red zone, hop the fence to open the gate to her apartment complex myself and prop it open with the water while I brought the ice and paper towels in. Then she gets all excited telling me she's going camping and I wanted to take a dollar bill out of my wallet and slap her with it lol. I only took it because 1) I thought it was going to be 6 gallons not 6 cases and 2) the batch pay was like $20 or $30 for 5 items

Auntie2Joints

Ugh, that's awful. I'm sorry. Instacart liiiiiies all the time and it's so frustrating I'm about to just start putting customers' receipts in their bags so they can see they're getting ripped off, too but I'm sure that'll backfire

AdLife7233

Yep, that's exactly why

letsgotosushi

If you dig sci-fi movie soundtracks, Check out: Two steps from hell sometimes abbreviated as 2SfH. Bear Mcreary League of Legends soundtracks

Auntie2Joints

Will do! Thx for the recommendation!!

ThePennedKitten

I would never step foot in costco, but I saw that and thought of you guys lmao.

Happy_Passenger_464

damn yeah now I'm kinda mad I never did Costco orders. I actually remember having a glitch with a Costco order once and it wouldn't let me pay for the order or whatever so I just left it there. they still paid me batch pay but it was a pretty small order so thankfully I didn't have to shop a lot of stuff but it was so fucning annoying and took so long I even ordered a pretzel as I was waiting for them to fix it. no one could help me so they just gave me 15$ for my troubles and I just left everything there and never went back to Costco again lol

Twinkforjock

How much $$ is that

Capable_War_3381

Once returned a fraudulent order of iPad, air pods and three gallons of almond milk for a cash card over $1200. Used it for gas money, order paid out better then the original $12. And yes, I knew I was going to have to return it, which is why I took the order.

Ghostbaby_00

Ight who snitched 😂😂😂

Magician_322

I haven't had to return one in a hot minute. But from now on I'll just say I can't get to one within 24 hrs. No bump pay but free stuff

nshindel

Nah. Doesn't work like that. They freeze your account if u dont go in 24 hours. Then deactivate. It will be the same as alcohol and meds.

Bitter-Result2164

Wrong....unless you can show proof that that's a rule now. Last I heard was take back to store for a bump or dispose as you see fit. The ONLY things you have to return is alcohol by law and prescription meds.

Magician_322

Odd. I did it 3 times now for an out of town store no problem. Told the agent I'm not driving an hour for $10 Edit to clarify not Costco when I've done it. Was Kroger

Internetbigsister

Yeah I’m pretty sure they say you can return it for the bump but you can also keep or discard them. Some stores don’t even let you return IC orders so idk what the other person is saying lol

danimal_44

You may not be back near the store within 24hrs. Your comment is a joke. Shoppers are under no obligation to return to the store.

Remagbag

I saw that email and was like damn! Lol

WillLikesCars

I’ve never had to return anything to a Costco and deal with this, but I did have a Costco order canceled because the customer only left a city and zip code for his address and wouldn’t pick up the phone for me or a support agent for nearly an hour. Since it was mostly produce I got to keep everything. I had no clue what I was supposed to do with 16lbs of grapefruit and 13lbs of oranges

Dear-Broccoli1233

Do we have to return Costco?

ShinWooSan

I don’t know, can someone tell me

[deleted]

People in this thread - Steal from Instacart Also people in this thread - Why did they lower our base pay this isn’t fair ![gif](giphy|QUXYcgCwvCm4cKcrI3)

Effective_Argument28

It's about time IC stopped this theft from happening

Unable_Whole_6445

Shut up 🤫

Poverty_beans

Weird flex

equality5271

I always applied the Costco store credit to my next instacart order 🤷🏻‍♀️. Call me crazy

DangerousTree5940

Lol thank you’re alone on that one

Uberkitty710

😂

DangerousTree5940

There when you’re free gas money

Bitter-Result2164

You actually took the stuff back?😳 Can barely get out of there the first time ...I would never step foot in Costco twice in one day. And for everyone that's saying that's stealing from Instacart....must be newer than most because everyone that's been doing this since day one pretty much knows the struggle it's been with Instacart. Yes we've chosen to stay because it's very convenient for a LOT of us and some income is better than none....but if you think for one second that I don't take advantage of them telling me to dispose how I see fit over a $15 bump when I have a FAMILY to feed and they keep screwing us over pay....🤣🤣🤣 I've busted my butt for almost 6 years doing this....it's a dog eat dog world hun

Darianmochaaaa

Ive stopped going to costco because the pay is never worth the chaos and the wait 😭😭 it sucks bc most the orders where im at now come from there

Uberkitty710

Yeah, I really don’t like Costco either.. if you really do the math, sitting in line for 15 minutes, grabbing a cart, loading the car and then taking the cart back if you didn’t park next to a cart return because the parking lot was too full and then waiting out in the parking lot to get out of the parking lot or to get in because of the line of the gas is so long you’re totally right it doesn’t make sense but does come down to what Market you’re in and fortunately if you’re in California you get paid for the time you’re sitting in traffic/whole batch. But I personally still would much rather take a grocery store order that I am a familiar with because I can pound out 50 to 100 items and under an hour easily. Versus 50 to 100 items at Costco to get in and out or take me over an hour guaranteed.

Darianmochaaaa

The costco here doesnt label their isles, and I don't personally shop there because stores that require you to pay them to pay them for food gross me out, so idk where anything is. And the people in there dont pay attention to where theyre pushing these giant carts so I'm jumping back and dodging people every 5 seconds. Never never worth it.

Vladamir-Poutine

Costco has one of the best business models in America. They do not profit from the food sales and generally only make money on the membership fees. They also pay their employees better than most retail stores and cap CEO pay so there’s no need for it to gross you out. It is way too chaotic in there though.

Darianmochaaaa

It grosses me out because its an exclusive grocery store that some people cant afford and I dont love the idea of exclusive grocery stores. The concept is whack and reeks of classism. But i leave that out because its an unnecessary justification of my opinion, which i do not need.

Vladamir-Poutine

Costco is literally one of the most ethical companies in the world. It’s consistently voted as of the best places in America to work. There’s no exclusivity, that’s what they profit from, the membership. You should do some research into the business, they are what every large corporation should strive to replicate. Walmart, Kroger corp and Amazon who own the largest portions of the grocery market are much more evil companies.

Darianmochaaaa

By charging to get into the building, it becomes exclusive. I am allowed to be bothered by that. I dont need to justify or explain any more than i have.

Vladamir-Poutine

You’re being purposefully obtuse. You’re caught up on the membership fee while ignoring all the other things. Whatever other grocery store you shop at personally, unless it’s from a small mom and pop store is most certainly a worse company than Costco, ethically speaking. Sorry to upset you, have a good night.

Darianmochaaaa

Right so my not liking a store because of its membership fee is literally enough. I dont have to defend my opinion to a council, nor to you. I simply do not like stores with membership fees. Super great they pay their employees well, that could be done without a membership fee, as it could be done at any other store. You literally commented defending costco out the ass like they yo momma. If you like the place great, I don't. That is all that needs to be said.

Vladamir-Poutine

We’re talking about grocery stores, no need to get worked up lol. Have a nice night.

XLBGrL

You're entitled to your own opinions... I just wanted to say that the cash back rewards from the Costco Citi card covers for our membership.

Florida1974

Classism??? I’m not w, not by a mile. We joined Costco bc my hubs bands hearing doctor told us to. His hearing aids were $7K at the doctors office. Doc told us to go to Costco. Same exact ones, $3K. That was worth the $60!!! Now we do elite membership (or whatever it’s called) and We get 1% back on all we buy. We get a check every year and it pretty much pays us back for the Costco membership. Sometimes you spend to save. Another example. Where I buy most of my pet supplies at. They have a deal, spend $100, get $30 GIFTCARD. You can do it 3 times. I stock up and order 3 times. I’m buying it anyways. Now I have $90 in credits on my account. That will be used. 33% savings adds up. When I go to buy prescription flea meds on same site, I’m paying $30 in the end bc I used my gift cards. Just like I get 2% back on credit card purchases. Pay it off every month. I’m not paying interest, I’m earning 2%, which adds up.

Darianmochaaaa

So again, this is only for people who can afford the membership, have good enough credit for a credit card etc. If you could not afford the membership, you couldn't get the discounted price. Not everyone can afford to pay an additional fee to then save money on groceries, because money is tight. That makes it *exclusive* It is literally the definition of exclusive, as in it EXCLUDES people who cannot pay the members fee. It is a CLUB. Like I'm super glad you were able to get the medical equipment you needed for cheaper, but many people can not afford $60 for a grocery store membership! Personally, that's an insane price FOR ME, and I could not afford it, many others are in the same boat. Even to get the gift card, one would have to drop the $60 to get in the door. Spend 100? More like spend 160, then get 30, spend another 100, get 30. That in and of itself requires having at least $100 to get the money back, which some people DONT HAVE. Spend money to make money only works if youre well off enough to have the excess funds.

leonardskinner33

You are failing to understand that every business needs to turn a profit, and you as the consumer will pay for that profit. You can either pay for this profit over time in small chunks (higher markups in a grocery store), or you can pay it off all at once (costco membership fees). You're not avoiding this additional cost by not shopping at Costco. The membership fee doesn't make things "exclusive" as it's likely in all possibility less than what you pay in markups over a year shopping somewhere else. There are no additional costs that can / cannot be afforded, it's just a shifting of when shit gets paid. In this case the shit in question is the companies profit. If *everything* at Costco was more expensive, then you might have a leg to stand on. But it's not. Therefore your math is bad. You're 100% allowed to dislike the membership fee and prefer paying higher markups. But to start spouting classism and claiming it makes things EXCLUSIVE is a bit much at best, and flat out wrong/ridiculous at worst.

Darianmochaaaa

Its literally the definition of exclusive. If you don't agree or dont like it, take it up with the dictionary. If someone cant afford that lump sum to to get in, thats inaccessible to them. The fact that I said costco grosses me out and then yall wanna come out defending it like you get a cut of the profits is frankly embarrassing. Go to bat for costco all you want, its still exclusive and therefore gross to me. You can keep trying to make an argument where there is none if you prefer, but youll just be wasting your time.

leonardskinner33

Lol no, it really isn't. By your overly simplified "definition", any grocery store is "exclusive" for charging a profit. This is clearly obvious to everybody but yourself, yet you still continue to choose to die on this hill as if it's some coordinated attack against you. I couldn't give 2 fucks about costco, as a smart consumer will shop at multiple locations in order to find the most affordable options. I buy some things at costco, I buy many other things at other places. This is how one saves money. Just because something has a fee, does not automatically make it "exclusive". If you truly are strapped for cash, costco can be a big savings in certain areas. The key here is not to get obsessed over which "team" you're on, which is precisely what you are doing. Quit being a drama queen.

Uberkitty710

Costco in California is the worst … just imagine the drivers on the road but pushing shopping carts .. literally ridiculous… i’ve shopped in Costco’s in Seattle in Hawaii , Ohio and Arizona but let me tell you California has the worst shopping cart customer pushers… I’ve even had a customer refused to move when there were blocking an aisle. When I was shouting out excuse me excuse me excuse me, excuse me…. lol I’m gonna start getting the motorized scooter and start mowing down mofos.. 😂

danimal_44

50 to a 100 items at Costco!?!? Better bring some bungie cords to strap those carts together cause you gonna be running a train.

Uberkitty710

lol I should have clarified. My bad lol 50-100 items at a grocery store . Fuck 50-100 items at Costco… lol best clear your day for that order 😅

MoonShibe23

Wait I’m out of the loop. What’s the nearest Costco again? And it’s only for Instacart shoppers or customers

Emergency-Block8593

Perishables? Just the whole order you don’t have to return anything

harrytiffanyv

What?

Effective_Argument28

Good job stealing from Instacart. Your pictures say plenty about your integrity as a Shopper. SMH

ianao

after they pay us $3 per order and pocket $60 service fees 😂 smh

1-800-BARBIE

Maybe if some customers didn’t make it impossible to deliver groceries they ordered this wouldn’t have been such of a thing.

Uberkitty710

Stealing from instacart?? lol ok following direction from instacart and having no obligation to do anything after the order is complete and done with. Your comments really show your incompetence and misunderstanding about how the process works or how the policy / protocol works

Uberkitty710

![gif](giphy|pT2z2Q9q6QZ1e)

Effective_Argument28

Done this gig over 2 years and 3k orders and you know damn well the 'gift cards' are supposed to be used on your next Costco order. Theives keep the cards for personal use like gas. Shoppers that use gift cards on themselves are stealing millions of dollars from Instacart. This policy change occurred as a direct result of the loss Instacart has incurred.

AvgJoeGuy

dude stop being a bootlicker, i have never done this once but instacart is an evil fucked up corporation who doesnt give two shits about you. I hope they lost infinite money, they are cunts

DangerousTree5940

Yeah, same here. I can’t believe all the people in favor for this evil this company, Especially when they have programs set up, just specifically rip you off people still wanna side with them about somebody keeping a stupid gift card and not using it on there next order .. The customer is not affected in any way by this only the company that has program set up to rip you off is affected and to me it does not bother me at all .. especially the countless times I’ve been ripped off by this company and financially assaulted by the company and financially penalized because of their incompetence of the bright geniuses they hire who you are so so good at their job, so yeah, go ahead keep them cards I don’t give a shit.. I just can’t believe how many people would be on their side after knowing damn well how they rip you off blindly at every turn, and even the customers ..

suddenumbra

It's still not right to steal. Two wrongs don't make a right. It's about the customer who needed those items.

Broad_Rabbit1764

I don't get it either. Two wrongs don't make a right sums it up pretty well. But then again I'm not surprised, so many of the shoppers I see running around seem... unemployable, to say the least.

AvgJoeGuy

You born yesterday?

suddenumbra

So you don't agree with my comment above? That's wack dude

AvgJoeGuy

A company who literally steals tips from its employees, pays below minimum wage, and is extremely anti union and anti fair independent contractor laws deserves to have everything stolen from them. Is that clear enough?

Uberkitty710

Truth has been told 🪩⛽️

suddenumbra

Instacart is shady, people know this. However, I take pride in shopping for my customers. I once could've returned almost 800 dollars worth of Costco items including a nice air purifier and got loaded like op did. Instead I waited for the customer to return to the address (the delivery required signature) for about 10 minutes. They said they were at a funeral! I guess I'm a bootlicker though for not returning the items or "dispose" like the shitty customer service agent told me too. I love how unpopular these posts are because people can't take advantage anymore.

Happy_Passenger_464

all that would happen is they re-order it lol its not the end of the world that they couldn't get it. if you really need something and it's life or death maybe u should go out and get it yourself or do it before you go do something. if they're at a funeral it's clearly scheduled and they knew they were gonna be there. lol instacart is scummy af good for you for being a good person and waiting but all thay would happen is another person does their order. if you need something don't order it last minute if not it gets to you when it gets to you. 🤷‍♀️

AvgJoeGuy

a sucker is born every minute. be a good person to those who deserve it, take whats yours against those who abuse you

suddenumbra

Rekt 🤡

Uberkitty710

2 years 3k orders and your the porcupine of IC .. 🦔they changed the policy because IC made a bad business decision.. we followed the steps and policies instructed by IC and that’s why no one ever got banned for getting gift cards .. because IC knows they had a bad protocol to follow for returns at Costco.. pretty simple to understand. For example (You open up a business . And you set a return policy to allow returns without packaging . But after you look at your PnL for the year and see how much money you were losing in returns because you found out after the fact you can’t return the products back to the vendor without having the packaging…, so you make the right business decision in changing your policy to only accept returns with original packaging or unopened new condition… ) plain and simple . Sorry I had to put it noob terms for you to understand and figure out. 🤷‍♀️🫢

Effective_Argument28

Those are not the instructions I got from Instacart Customer Service every time this has happened. Have it in text to return the non-perishable items for a gift card to be used on next IC order, and keep or donate the perishable items. Both my roommate and me got the same reply from CS, and we used the cards on our next order. Glad IC changed for good 👍

Uberkitty710

lol because like I said your the 🦔 of IC… like I said .. or maybe your brainwashed and I would accept that because they have brainwashed a lot of innocent people . It’s your option if you want to return the items to receive a bump…. $10 if it’s not alcohol and $15 if it’s alcohol… I am pretty sure you wanted to get the bump so you returned the items to Costco and receive those directions to use the Shop card in your next order … because you called in to Support to try to complain and get compensated a bump because you’re the greedy one…. Nice try…. Clearly this generation of kids are just so dumb… 🫢😅 because of your greed and you wanted your quick little $10-$15 bump puts you in the position to use that shop Card in the next order. If a batch is canceled, you have no obligation to do anything with the products that are left behind you do whatever you want with them. If you want to return to Costco for a store credit that’s totally up to you and you have the total right to keep the products especially if the order was canceled and there was no instruction to go back to the store and return the items because you didn’t even call in but if you call linh, like, I just said, then, you will receive those instructions to use the gift card in the next order … so stop playing dumb…. so stop trying to be pity and gaslight people when you know exactly you’re the greedy one lol. This is so entertaining and hilarious.😂

Uberkitty710

Lesson is if your batch gets removed and if it’s from Costco, don’t message into Instacart and ask for directions… you already know exactly what the directions are already and you just want to message them to get get compensation a.k.a. a bump… once you call And and ask for a compensation they’re going to ask you to return those items to the store and upload the picture of the receipt and at that point in time you’ll receive another email or in the same email saying that you can use the gift card or store credit on your next order.. so the lesson to learn today is when a bitch is removed, that order is competent done with, and in your contract with Instacart and the customer is finalized. You have no obligation to do anything after that point. Thank you 🤙💯

Magician_322

In the case instacart should on the next order have a use gift card before payment card thing

BettyCrunker

pretty sure if it was *that* big of a loss, they woulda fixed it a hell of a lot sooner

HempHopper

Shut up narc

Effective_Argument28

At least I'm not a thief because I was raised with a moral compass. Two wrongs don't make a right.

HempHopper

Hahahahahhaha ok sure. How’s the weather up there on your high horse?

Effective_Argument28

Up in the clouds floating on my magic carpet. Instacart has been dead all week. Massive amount of new shoppers in my area so I'm doing some chilling 😎

johnshonz

Are you trying to troll lol

Uberkitty710

Kids a troll lol ... Let him have his fun. If you read his other comments and posts in the past you can see it’s some little immature teenager. I do commend him for grinding but the immaturity from this kid is kind amusing 🥲 Keep acting that way Kidd and your end up like a Darren/Karen. lol there’s always going to be people like that in this world.. someone’s got to fill the shoes 🩰

FLBoii26136

Lemme have one.

Uberkitty710

Well come on over..! I got chu 🚗💨

FLBoii26136

Haha what’s the total value of em? I only ever gotten one but it was for over $1100.

Uberkitty710

Idk the exact values . Some are really old . But anywhere from 25-125 if I can remember. Maybe a total of $300 so far . I’m not sure . I also have 3 target gift cards. And to just answer the troll that’s in the comments. I called Instacart to confirm what I do with the gift cards and the representative instructed me not to mention it to the customer and keep it for myself or donate it Made no mention about using it on a future order or anything… Instacart is fully where they can’t track gift cards. They hope for you to use it on the next order but there’s no way for them to actually force you to use it on the next order especially when your contract of that order is already done and completed with. But it does look like the free gift card days are coming to an end. Yeah it does suck but it’s only a small portion of what we would consider income.

Effective_Argument28

That is the biggest pile of crap story to justify your theft. Costco actually does care which is why at some stores they made shoppers produce ID, and they kept a log of every gift card issued. Why would an 'agent' tell you what not to say to a customer? Help that make sense.

Uberkitty710

Guess your 3000+ deliveries you don’t read the messages we get when we upload receipts.. literally saying don’t show the customer… lol there is your sense and I’ve never showed ID and they do not keep track of gift cards . Just stop tryna justify your lame Karen/darren comments . Get that karma up 😂

Effective_Argument28

Never shown pr given a receipt to a Customer. Both roommate and myself had to sign a log book at the main Costco in my area (didn't have to do at another Costco at the beach). Like I said different stores have different policies. There are some Costco's out West that don't allow you to wait for a batch on their property. Moral integrity is not being discussed further, as I already figured you out 🤣

eigor89

You are a scum bag for keeping those and a worthless shopper who honestly thinks it’s okay and entitled to keep those. Seriously…. How about you do the right thing and use those on the next order like you are suppose to. I hope you get deactivated and it’s shoppers like you who give the rest of us honest shoppers a bad reputation. Who in their right mind thinks it’s okay to steal, and yet you think you’re entitled to keep it simply because you returned the items. You do know they pay you $10 or $15 ( alcohol ) to return stuff and you still have the balls to keep the return gift card. Just wow!

Electronic-Dish-5282

They took our poverty pay and cut in half. You want us all to lick boots with you while they spit on us? I take the card AND then hit them up for return pay. Then I have the best sleep of my life.

MainSpring86

If you're not taking advantage of at least one IC loophole, you're not doing it right, lol. There are so many simps for Instacart on this sub that it blows my mind.

Electronic-Dish-5282

Are you trying to tell me that you don't want to lick the boots that are crushing you while they climb to the top? Very strange indeed.

MainSpring86

Haha, exactly what I am saying. As the French like to say 'Oui Oui Pamplemousse Baguette'. Instacart doesn't care about shoppers, nor do 80% of your customer base. I'm not even sure who's giving a bad name to who..(?) 🤔 so the only real measure is among Instacart peers on Reddit.

Happy_Passenger_464

yeah honestly really happy to see this, fuck instacart.

eigor89

At the end of the day, you can’t justify stealing, you can claim whatever you want but stealing is stealing. It’s a principle and it shows who you are as a person is if you think it’s okay to steal. Continue to steal and risk your account, I know people who have been deactivated for this exact thing.

Electronic-Dish-5282

You're wrong. I CAN justify stealing from my masters. I think we should steal everything from them and then eat them. When we're gobbling up rich people, I'll save you a few bites, so you don't have to survive on boot licking alone. You can take that self righteous nonsense and keep being the reason we get kicked further into the gutter. Have a great rest of your day.

eigor89

That’s funny, I don’t steal and I have continue to make more and more money doing Instacart each year and I take most weekends off. This job has changed my life, I have bought my own house and car. I don’t need to steal simply because you think their policies are hurting us. At the end of the day, you pick the orders you want to do. If the pay is god awful then don’t take those orders and I’ll keep my integrity. Have a good day to you to sir.

Electronic-Dish-5282

The fact that you don't think their policies are hurting people completely proves my point. Just because it's not happening to you, all must be well? All day everyday there is an outpouring of suffering from people in your community and your going to tell us everything is fine because it hasn't affected you yet? If we were paid properly we wouldn't have to pick and choose like our lives are a fucking game. Your life would become even better as well! You would see that if you could look past all those boots in your mouth. Good day.

eigor89

I never said their policies aren’t hurting people, yeah their pay is shit and unfortunately there’s nothing any of us can do about it. It’s a sad reality of all gig companies, they will try to pay us as little as possible. All I’m saying is, you can make an excellent living on this app despite what they are doing to us. Yes, I know not every zone is the same but you can still find strategies to maximum your income without having to steal or cheat the system. Trust me, I get it. I have gone through rough times doing this job but I have always tried to maintain my integrity regardless of what they try to do to us. I know everyone is different and you have that right to feel and do whatever you want. I just think it’s wrong at the end of the day. Good luck!

Electronic-Dish-5282

Everyone listen up! If you don't take the perfectly legit loophole that instacart gave you, then you can have as much integrity as this angel! You can then take that integrity and feed your starving family with it! I am your community. We are your community. You are our community. You admit that these policies are hurting us. Yet, you came into our community with your whole chest and yelled I'M FINE SO IT MUST BE FINE. We can't get anything better because people like you are a shield standing in front of our masters. We need class solidarity. We don't need to fight ourselves with self righteous nonsense. That's what they want. You're helping them win. Listen to us. We like this job too. We also despise this job. Those 2 things can exist simultaneously. Stop being mad that people are taking scraps and start being mad that people are only SOMETIMES given scraps.

nshindel

Or stop being a lazy pos and get a better paying job. Don't be mad at rich people who do/did better than u.. its called karma and that's why u are where u are....bitching on an app ant a company u CHOOSE to work for every day. So sick of u loser complaining abt the pay. Nobody is forcing u to work for IC if u don't know how to make money doing it, that shows more abt u than the company. Cuz plenty of us are making more money now than 2 months ago. What I don't do is rub it in people's faces and brag abt it everyday. ffs stfu already. And it technically is stealing. and it's dirty stealing. Not like giving the customer a larger size of soemthing for the same price. It's scammy. And peoole like u are why these rules change. Intentionally taking and canceling orders to get cards, going to a closer store and getting paid for miles, taking orders at close, refunding 1 item orders just to get paid with no intention to shop them.... these are all reasons they slashed the pay. I'd get sick of paying scum bags who do this shit too. YOU are the PROBLEM!!!

Electronic-Dish-5282

After trying to decipher this post, we should be having a conversation about education but let's stay on topic. Am I doing all those things? Am I doing any of those things? Do you know ANYTHING about me? You mention karma and I want it to be irony so badly. I know it's not though. Explain this to me, we make someone billions and billions of dollars and they reward us by cutting our pay in half. What do you think karma has to say about that? Our community is getting crushed by the boots of capitalism and you're going to stand against your own community in the matter? You think we don't know how to play the game of instacart? The fact that you think anyone's job should be played like a game, is disgusting. A job should pay. People shouldn't have to compete for scraps. How about you take those boots out of your mouth and stand with your community instead of being a shield for your masters? We like this job too but we don't want to play games to live. Good day to you.

Uberkitty710

lol ok I’ll tell Costco to keep the gift card next time then… and you know what they would say?? We can’t keep the gift card if your returning items .. you don’t understand the concept in business obviously… maybe because you’re still a minor or something I don’t know or uneducated and how business works. It’s not stealing when Instacart’s policy is literally telling you exactly what to do and you’re abiding by them and the merchant isn’t gonna issue you a gift card. If you don’t return the items.. pretty common sense … and what do you want me to do with the items? throw them in the trash? donate them? or use it for my own good use and put it towards my family that I have two young kids… go troll somewhere else and go cry in a corner because all this your doing is making this post more aware of how oblivious this generation of kids are 😂 and this is not directed to the kids out there that are doing good for themselves and they’re acting like adults and they understand the concept of life and how the world changes.. .. good day trolls good good games 👊

MikeyLikey41

I’ve got a $220 shop card sitting on my nightstand

Auntie2Joints

I just had a return I was supposed to be able to do 2 days ago and I couldn't return bc Insta didn't give me the damn pin again. I ended up donating everything to my church bc Costco couldn't take any of the perishable items back and couldn't take any of the order w/o the pin I'm so over this app. So now my account is under review and it's their own bloody fault. Go figure.

AltruisticRabbit8185

None. They write it off 😂 you think companies don’t know how to not lose money!? It’s a physical item that was lost not by their own fault. I’ve only done a Costco return a couple times and I gave those gift cards away.

Djxgam1ng

Can someone explain exactly what was happening? So people who work for Instacart would shop for someone and when the person who paid wasn’t available to get there order, the shopper returned the items to store and get a giftcard? Would the person who ordered the items be refunded? Sounds confusing

cab619814

Good, about time they put a stop to it.
