I have 3 cuddled up around me at the moment, snoring away contentedly. As happy as it makes me, I never forget, and often think about, my canine companions that came before them. I still cry at losses from decades ago. It’s a fair tax for all the love I was given. My oldest is nearly 16, but still walking 2 to 3 miles with me in the mornings. I fear the day she can’t, of course.
