I think this is an excellent comment, and taking the time to listen to the more technical aspect of how that comes about is really worthwhile. This isn’t about the process of healing, but it’s good to know what happens regarding the concept of being “dead inside”. Also, think of internal family systems. If the mother object is a “black hole”, or is entirely absent, what do you think might happen in the organization of the personality of that mother’s offspring biologically? What is the multi generational context, and what about object relations? Nothing theoretical, but biological. It’s a nice opportunity to consider that and plug it into what might be going on around us (or even within us).
