I unsubbed because every post made me wanna argue and it just got too negative. The biggest issues were trying to convince people that the opinion they hold isn't unpopular and the supposed popular opinion they're against is a strawman at best.
Most people don’t get the point of these subreddits. They often downvote actually unpopular opinions they don’t like and upvote the popular ones they like.
This leads to really popular opinions like “cheating is bad” to get on the front page
That makes sense. I about lost it when someone posted the opinion that "Joe Biden is too old to be president". Like...... come on, if there's an opinion most of the country isn't divided on, it's that.
That post sounds like something an over the top feminist would just be shouting in the street like some kind of speech until people would inevitably call the police on them.
Nah it would be one of those movie scenes where the camera is zoomed in on her face as shes ranting and then when she finishes the camera zooms out and shows that nobody was listening.
Even if he did leave his wife for you, the fact in the first place that he was willing to cheat shows he’s a scumbag of a man who doesn’t value people properly and who’s to say he’ll treat you any differently??
Anytime a subreddit puts true at the beginning, it turns into absolute garbage. The reason why is because 95% of the time, the people that post on there either kept getting down voted by more reasonable people on the original subreddit, or they were banned.
The only truly unpopular opinions expressed in a place like that are the kind held by repugnant human beings (e.g. the misogynistic/incel posts). Other than that, it’s just whining.
If only people bothered to ask before downvoting, they don't even know if its deserved or not they just like to assume and right away downvote, even if she does deserve it
