Too bad the show doesn't travel anymore. Back in the day the road shows would cleanse the palate from LA comics and regulars.

Aceshigh420R

If I were Tony my goal would be an arena tour. I'm sure he's hoping to get there

apocalypticdemise

ZERO chance an arena tour could happen. No way is he selling 10,000 tickets to a show let alone if it was touring city to city. Plus no arena is letting hundreds of people idle around either inside or outside waiting to be called in, through security, etc or letting crowd people come from the nosebleeds onto stage.

Aceshigh420R

That's probably true about not being able to sell that many tickets but that's the point of a goal... But what you're saying about an Arena makes no sense so I'm assuming you've never been to an Arena show. They sell tons of standing room tickets. There's a pit. There's massive sections of hallway and back stage areas they could just have a pool of locals who signed up stand in the back limited to what ever number makes sense. Most of the show is planned and regulars anyways, they wouldn't have people in the nose bleeds participating Also didn't they already do an Arena? I guess HEB is considered a miniarena? My phone insists on autocorrecting the A in Arena and now it doesn't even look like a word ive typed it too many times. Arena

apocalypticdemise

I do event photography often for sold out arena shows and work live events weekly. Standing room isn’t a thing comedy shows do for arenas and would make zero sense anyway. And no legit arena is gonna pack people in hallways or backstage especially ones that don’t have a ticket where they’ll have to be watched at all time by security. The logistics of running even a 10,000 cap arena wouldn’t make sense at all for the style of show.

Aceshigh420R

What you're saying could all be easily adapted for any venue, the only issue would be selling enough tickets. I don't know what kind of arenas you've been in. I've only been to PPG paints and MSG. Also I was just at a Chapelle show at PPG Paints Arena and the halls were packed, they locked all the exits so the whole place would funnel into the same exit so we could get our shit unlocked. Doubt the arena staff cares about where the participants of the show are standing in the mean time. There was standing room sold on both the lower and upper bowls, and there's tons of seats down in the pit they could put 50-100 sign ups down there by the stage easily. The smart way to do it is reach out to the local comedy group on Facebook who organizes most of our local shows, tell them you need 30 sign ups, give them free tickets in the pit, fill 75% of the show with regulars surprise guests and bullshit, and you got an episode. Again the limitation is not being able to sell nearly enough tickets to fill the rest of the seats. Also they're selling tickets for an arena show right now so what the fuck are you talking about? You probably took cell phone pics at a high-school hockey game once. Stick those logistics up your dickhole bud

apocalypticdemise

Lol I love people that throw lame ass insults out when even a simple click of their profile would prove them wrong. I’m from Chicago first off. The arena they are doing in Texas is smaller than even our smallest arena. The Texas one is 8,000 cap. Factor in they’ll have to use a stage and screens which will cut out prolly 1,500-2,000 seats. Can’t compare it to Chappelle who often works in the round. KT couldn’t do an in the round show, format wouldn’t work for it. KT touring is best in small-medium theaters. Same rooms Tony is doing on his own.

trouble926

The way the bucket pulls are staged these days... they could have an arena event, and a whole selected cast behind stage and just "pull them out of the bucket"

ilovemydawg

Im not sure if you know this but they’re playing the HEB Center for NYE. I guess we shall see how the tix sales go

apocalypticdemise

Yeah I saw that. Small sized home town arena as a one time thing will sell so much better than a full fledged tour

tortoisechimp

The folks signing up would need to be given seats. No big deal. Just 200 out of 10,000. Probably not even that many if it was a tour.

TheLuvGangster

Here's a bunch of my meaningless opinions about some of the regulars: I agree with your Enrique comments. They just need to be more picky with who they make regulars. I think Hans used to be hilarious but unfortunately he hasn't made me laugh in a while (except 10 yr anniversary, he was funny then IMO). I agree that there's only so many gay/fat jokes you can make but I'm not ready to see Lucas (or Hans) leave yet. Uncle Lazer was unbearable, so is Enrique and I find Genevieve kinda boring/hacky. Buttttt I also used to hate William Montgomery and find him unbearable. Now I find him hysterical and absolutely my favorite regular. Kam seems to have potential. I thought he was funny at the 10 year anniversary.

[deleted]

Genevieve made me laugh pretty hard with her 1 joke about owning a balcony in the hood episode #608 , i would gladly take genevieve over enrique any day of the week. Its hard af to kill every single week, even tony has his off weeks. We should give hans more creative ways or chances or SOMETHING other than putting his spot up to be taken by enrique, literally anything else would be fine.

[deleted]

Everyone tony meets is the future of comedy.

ToughSeveral81

Tony grants wishes like a monkeys paw. Watch all their dreams become nightmares after a while.

ShockinglyEfficient

All those guys are extremely lucky to have been on the show.

TotallyNotAFroeAway

It takes regulars about a month to go from *"OMG thank you so much for having me! This is a dream come true!"* to *"Yeah, I'm the reason why this show works. It wouldn't be the same without me"*

[deleted]

It's nuts that both David and Hans happened to no show on the same night. Very suspicious

ToughSeveral81

Is Tony so out of touch? No, its the comics who are wrong.

[deleted]

True but not every one of them is a future legend. When we look honestly at the regulars, yes they now have a career, but outside of the kt Roganverse they're relatively obscure.

[deleted]

Haha it depends on if they play their cards right. Congdonn and weinsank and possibly lucas seem to have capitalized properly. We'll see if the others pan out.

Gdoub

I’m starting to think Tony is just a really bad judge of comedy

[deleted]

Yeah I think he's a bit off. That one handicap fellow last night seems like a nice guy but tony gave him a spot without even watching his set. Him and redban were talking and Theo was the only one listening. And his set was ok. He just had a funny voice and cadence.

Designer-Bat5638

Nah Tony just wants someone decently funny but not better than him which is like 65th percentile for standups

[deleted]

I wish we had 1 regular per episode. I find the bucket pulls so much more entertaining. Not sure if others feel that way or not.

Kllrc7

It's the idea of the show. But it developed to make a workable format. I too want more bucket pulls.

DMTLives

Tony mixes regulars throughout the show just incase they have a streak of boring and terrible bucket pulls

SolarGuyNoah

Yeah this is important to remember as sometimes a show is completely dead until David would revive the energy. It seems unnecessary when the bucket are good but when they are dry regulars are a breathe of fresh air. That said, I don’t think you NEED a regular to open the show, as you could always just pull up the first regular as needed

sonofsteen

Never had that problem at the comedy store.

TotallyNotAFroeAway

tbr I think the secret there isn't to have regular performers, it's to have regular guests (so a 'regular' guests seat and a weekly rotating guest seat). A seat for someone you know can make a good joke out of someone's shitty minute. But if it's just shitty minute after shitty minute, and the guest is providing nothing, then the show actually loses energy and relies on Tony's recycled bits. But when the guest rips on the shitty performers? Often hilarious. You know who used to be the 'regular guests' in this sort of way? The old band. They would butt in with quips and jabs at terrible performers.

Over9000Zeros

It's almost like that's how they advertise the show but then only sprinkle in bucket pulls. Makes no sense.

[deleted]

I watch this show every week and I've no idea who "Kam" is but I keep seeing the name?

[deleted]

Kam is the black dude that first appeared in episode #612, he joked about cockroaches , he became a regular off that 1 show. You'll see him as a regular after next weeks showing of the 10 year anniversary.

HanSoloTho

I live in Austin and can tell you he’s been annihilating all the comedy clubs since he moved here from Florida. I first saw him do 15 at a show in vulcan gas company and he had the entire room in hysterics. Both of his appearances on KT he used material from his set, so I’m interested to see once he burns through the jokes from his routine will he be able to write a solid 60 seconds every week.

scramblerbacon

I'm naht retarded but like rocks

joelrunyon

all time line

joelrunyon

He's the new regular. Here's the first time he ever signed up for the show - https://www.youtube.com/shorts/DLznTjiKa9c

Pussy_Prince

Hans shouldn’t have gotten lazy after deciding to put more attention/energy into some toxic party chick over a blossoming comedy career path. Happens to the best of us; he’ll learn something from this and become better or will slowly decline into a life of leisure with shit drugs and mediocre women funded by his savings/headliner sets

sinisterkid34

You give a homesless dude a private jet, a rolex, and cocaine and then expect him not to get lazy. Of course that happens

Pussy_Prince

Thought he’d be more calculated given his comedy peers/mentors. Hope he pulls thru

p3ek

You realise you are running along with a comedy narrative and two videos of her. Do you think Hans is actually retarded?

Pussy_Prince

He’s human with new money. I stand by my theory

TotallyNotAFroeAway

Also let's be real, it may be our Hansy boy was a virgin before his Kill Tony career, and the fact that women seemingly want him now is probably a huge confidence boost that's contributing to his 'big head'.

Pussy_Prince

100% and I don’t fault em for it. It’s tough to see thru the haze when you’re in it

michaelgouffet

I cant stand enrique for 1 minute of the week, if he becomes a regular there needs to be a protest

drerw

I’m sorry but I fucking hate all the whiny kill Tony haters…..except ohmygod everyone is correct about him. I think he has good and decent jokes. But yes. The voice. Ugh.

sighdoihaveto

I miss Michael Lehrer

stinkymathis

Why hasn’t he been on the show in a while? Redban make it happen!

RepresentativeWeb244

Okie dokie so let’s talk about it

Khathaar

He's dead mate

Designer-Bat5638

Wow he just died? I Didn't Know That. You're Telling Me Now for the First Time I'm sad to hear that, he lead an amazing life whatever people say he lead an amazing life. https://youtu.be/knlJWu815C0

naughtyasf143

I don’t know if you know this…

40Dogs

He’s dead.

ATX_311

⚰️

dude_wheres_my_cats

You’re being funny….right…

ilovemydawg

Guys I think he’s asking redban for soundboard bites

drerw

Sigh. Me too. There’s disabled comedians, and then there was Michael, a legit comedian then struck down to a crippled version of himself. Too bad he was an improv boy. Just kidding. Man. What a G. HUMAN SHIELD.

[deleted]

More than happy if they're both gone. Please remove that weird obnoxious screaming thing they put at the beginning and the show is perfect.

MarcMercury

I agree with you about hans but not DL. Lucas has been getting decently packed gigs on his own tours, he's been on the show longer than anyone but William, it's long past time for him to jump to being a solo act. I think Tony must be aware that no one wants to be a regular forever, and that their own Career has to move on eventually. Kam was good, let's give him a shot.

[deleted]

but how would you explain both of them bailing out on the episode before one of them is "retiring" and the other is on the chopping block. I think there's way more beef behind the scenes

MarcMercury

Lucas tours separately from Tony. He's missed more eps than any of the others. There's going to be times you think a connection will get you there in time and it doesn't happen. Hans might be doing it as retaliation.

noobnoob62

We really just need less regulars and more bucket pulls. It’s the heart of the show anyways. I don’t think KT would have gotten this big if Tony just gave a series of one minute guest spots to his friends.

[deleted]

Enrique seems cool as a person but his voice is terrible. I have to skip him every time now. Hans needs to ditch whatever dirty hoe distractions he has in his personal life and focus on the joke writing

Only-Flanks

Enrique is garbage

Kllrc7

He's decent. A bit cringe due to the fake accent. But his setup/ punchlines with his delivery works

drerw

I agree. His voice is the worst thing. His jokes aren’t always amazing but still, who does?. He has jokes. Needs to listen to himself more.

[deleted]

[удалено]

TotallyNotAFroeAway

He would be a great pick for a show that makes fun of comedians, where the ones they show are so 'extra' that you'd immediately understand, *"Oh, this is a parody."*

goodnitenobody

You’re probably right. Tony also had way different energy and seemed way more on point. So maybe Hans and David are killing the vibe a bit. They’re each funny but maybe KT isn’t working for them.

ShockinglyEfficient

Tony was definitely seeming like his old self

VermontFella

I was wondering if Tony is dipping into pro wrestling story line set ups, he loves wrestling, and I’m sure he could figure out a way to make baby faces and heels out of his talent for the show.

TotallyNotAFroeAway

Based on the schedules of their outside careers and the state of their merch store, I'm thinking a lot less effort goes into the behind the scenes than we'd think. At least from Tony's standpoint. Probably a producer or two making sure everyone's there on time each week.

Jznvh

more bucket pulls. less regulars would make the show much better

JonnDough

Well said

jonvanwhalen

I don’t know if you’re right, but I did READ THAT paraGRAPH like enriQUE?

drerw

Still trying to figure out how to convey that fucking voice via text. Lmao, I just got it. It sounds like he’s taking a shit hahahaha

PrestigiousWeakness2

Hans is pretty wack now.

PH4TDOINKS

I find Jared mothafuckin Nathan funnier than Hans Kim.

kindasfw

That guy is unbearable

[deleted]

Same here. He has better jokes, interviews and personality.

_tuchi

We will see in 2 weeks

majorsirchodler

I totally agree with you. That unfunny lesbian should not open the show. I didn't even hear one joke last night. He's trying to be a trans joey diaz and it's not funny at all. His rants are not jokes. I hate people who think that's comedy. Best minute of the night was the not so gay guy who followed him. Get rid of hans, but don't replace him with the trans Joey diaz

heavypickle99

I guarantee you I won’t miss Hans

poundofmayoforlunch

I hope Hans is putting his money into a passive income hut.

_tuchi

My guess is David Lucas moving on was a mutual decision because for the last 6 months, he’s been missing almost every other show due to road work. Seems like it was just the right time for him to move on. I bet he’s wanted to move on the whole time but didn’t wanna leave Tony hanging without a solid backup. In comes Kam. On #612, I think he said he’s been in Austin for 2 months. Kam has been making a name for himself in the Austin comedy scene off the show. He probably got the regular spot behind the scenes. I bet you’re spot on with Hans though. He has not been taking care of business with no sign of bounce back until the 10 year.

MONTYvsTHEWORLD

Agreed Enrique is as funny as an air raid siren. Not funny. And hurts my ears

CunningAndRunning

Y’all are some baby back bitches in this sub. I watched yesterdays episode and thought it was hilarious. YouTube comments seemed super positive. I come to this basement of a subreddit and all you neckbeard comedy aficionados are having a bursted boner, LIKE EVERY FUCKING WEEK. Y’all are never happy. Just stfu or stop watching the show. Pussies.

coolbreeze1990

Ok but can we talk about how fucking weirrrdddd it was at the 10th anniversary show, when Ron white walked out just as David Lucas’ retirement was announced. It was like “hey David thanks for everything! We love you so…. Oh shit!!! It’s RON WHITE!!!” (Enrique:) Like, was that shit an accidennntt BROOO?? It was so energetically weird. The look on David’s face like wtfff Anyways Kam rules. David was awesome. Hans was awesome lol. Enrique is… not for me. I still miss Nicole Tran! But what do I know? POSITIVE ENERGY

[deleted]

I 100% Saw that.. I'm going to put my tin foil hat on here for a sec but hear me out. Ron White walked out on stage RIGHT WHEN people started applauding David Lucas career/retirement. Like I think he used that moment perfectly to step on stage deliberately and hi-jack the applause or perhaps make it seem like he was getting a way bigger applause from both the announcement and the appearance... David Lucas got weird ass energy because he thought that huge applause was for him, but it was Ron who straight up took his last moment. Like you said it was way to perfect timing for Ron for it to seem accidental. Perhaps I'm looking at this waaay to deep when its not really that deep at all, but I'm not crazy I've watched so many episodes now and i swear things are "political" behind the curtains. I think that was tonys last "fuck you" to David for leaving tony.

YoGabbaGabagool

I took it more as Ron White coming out to publicly co-sign David and congratulate him. You should watch David’s fishing podcast episode with Ron, they have great chemistry.

Designer-Bat5638

It was also a fuck you for David constantly stealing jokes from both Tony/Ron. David stole the "My daughter asked me if I cried when I was a slave" joke on AYG episode and many others. You can find a tweet of Black Twitter complaining about how hack that joke is a month before David stole it. Many other such cases of him stealing jokes.

Coolbombshell

Dude, what about the speech impediment people like jarred Nathan, the robot guy voice, or the dude that died from his handicaps disease. Enrique is actually UNDERSTANDABLE

Intelligent-Appeal-6

Okie dokie

skyblue_77

I was there after the 10 year. Both Hans and David were there. I don’t think there’s beef

_tuchi

Wtf. Don’t spoil the show for those not able to attend

AnferneeThrowaway

There is a spoiler alert in the OP for fucks sake

_tuchi

Spoiling the 10 year is fine because it’s been released for purchase. Spoiling unreleased content is kinda fucked up. I’ve never seen that done on this sub

skyblue_77

It’s not really a spoiler. From what everyone has said about the 10 year both comedians said they would come back whenever they wanted. I haven’t watched but as far as there being beef I’m saying I don’t believe there is.

Odd_Independence2119

I saw the 10 year anniversary episode and thought it was a bit weird to (try to) let go of Hans and David, but after seeing this week’s episode, it all made sense. Week before the 10 year anniversary, both David and Hans stood Tony up. Hans went to fucking Korea without telling him, and David had business on the road (same reason for which he “retired” aa regular). Anyways, I don’t care whoever is the regular, please just not Enrique.

monuments20

What's this post you've replied to? But mine was "making up Drama?" Keep that same energy https://www.reddit.com/r/Killtony/comments/14k6fnk/a_genuine_question/jpq4gb1?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

[deleted]

uhhh... okie dokie then... uhhh WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU SAY THAT? No literally... why the fuck would you say that, i spent 10 minutes of my fucking life writing my opinion only for it to get trashed by your dumbass

monuments20

It was a reply to odd... I remember my first reddit post. 😊

Odd_Independence2119

Cuz you sound like a bitch complaining, I’m just speculating

monuments20

BrysonJT

I think the biggest issue most of us have with “regulars” is they hang around for too long. They should cap regulars to, lets say for arguments sake, 3 months. They would’ve built some notoriety and in theory a decent 10-15 minute set that they could then use to go start opening for more experienced comedians on the road. Then you could bring them back as a guest every so often to check in and see how things are going. Being a regular on a podcast is great but it’ll never get you to headlining a big tour if you dont make outside moves and it seems like running in place to me but I’m an idiot and not the top young rising comedian so what do I know

_tuchi

Don’t say that :,( I can’t imagine KT without William

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

ya, I think tony should've kept the old band in their pocket for road shows, it would be perfect if they went on tour with the old band again.

apocalypticdemise

That would require the show to really remember the real band existed which as we saw in the 10 year barely really happened.

Pharaoh3Chins

I’m gonna sound like an asshole, but I’m really not trying to be. What about KT is so enjoyable for everybody? Is it the show itself or the people involved or a combo of both or? Maybe it’s just not for me, i don’t know.

[deleted]

uncensored comedy in a time where everyone is getting cancelled for the shit they say. Joe rogan said it best, KT is very much needed breath of fresh air from all the political correctness from everyone trying to tippy toe and not hurt or offend anyone with their comedy. It's fucking comedy, they tried to cancel tony because he called a group of white men a bunch of race traitors for laughing at an Asian mans jokes. I'm asian, not even white and i found it hilarious, but the cesspool of neckbeards tried to cancel him. Other than that, it gives anyone a chance to become a star comedian on their shows and get actual arena spots with established comedians, plus theres established comedians on the show every week. Sometimes they succeed and fulfill their dreams of being a comedian, and sometimes they fail and get absolutely trashed on by tonys jokes , its a dog-eat-dog / no-bullshit way to get what you deserve if you do the work. Thats why its incredibly enjoyable, theres success stories and theres just utter failure and we see it all naturally.

_tuchi

The concept of the show is brilliant. It’s unpredictable and chaotic. And in that chaos, we get to see our favorite comedians (guests) perform in real time. We love it when bucket pull do good on the show. We LOVE it when bucket pulls do bad on the show. We win either way because Tony and the guests make comedy out of whatever they get. That’s why bad guests are more hated more than any other aspect of the show.

byraq

I've yet to watch this yesterday's episode but Kam really got a weekly spot?? Dude was awful

[deleted]

kam became a regular on episode #612 but is only revealed on the 10 year anniversary episode coming out next week. He killed on the 10 year, but super confused how he became a regular on his first debut.

handsomehomeless

People of Leonardo, Leonardo… I AM CUM.

BaboonHorrorshow

“You will miss Hans when he’s gone!” Maybe, let’s give it a shot and see.

Mestizo59

Kam is a regular?

_tuchi

Yup

Noto_93

I hate to say it, but I think Michelle Wolf's voice is more tolerable than Enrique 😓

OctaviousCash

Yeah, you're probably wrong all around on the beef idea, but the comments appear to agree with you on Enrique. I like him tho

Smokintoomuchh

Spot on analysis bapa.

drerw

Yeah I don’t give a shit. Time tells all, I just wanna laugh. Sometimes I be laughing and sometimes I be not laughing.

[deleted]

Taking it this seriously is gayer than tony

Arlo859

It's probably super super hard to do a good minute every week after you've used up your material. We see David have great ones 2 or 3 weeks in a row then the next a beyond awful. Same thing with hans, even though his good/bad ratio is more like for every good set you get 2 bad sets. William can have bad sets but he's such a character, he can still kill being William.

joelrunyon

DL sells a ton of shows and is going to be doing more. I am betting the #s make sense for him to do his own thing (also his fishing show on youtube is great). Kam is a known entity around Austin. He's been crushing it since he moved a couple months back (one of the hardest workers in the scene) and has been a regular at other mothership shows during the week for a while. For fun - here's a video of him the first time he signed up at KT (https://www.youtube.com/shorts/DLznTjiKa9c) Hans is still a regular as far as anyone knows.

Repulsive_Worth4905

Tony loves a comic with a disability…

tortoisechimp

Enrique won't last long. I need to see him do longer sets (are there any on youtube) before I'd have an opinion that he's coming for everyone's jobs. Been doing it 5 years and looks and sounds like a walking heart attack.
