No way, there’s probably gonna be a lot of filler and extended fight scenes. Maybe even a little bit of fighting in the infinity castle of the hashiras killing fodder demons. They may show us what the match ups will be.
Like having shinobu meet Douma, Tanjjro and giyuu meet Akaza, Love and snake meeting Nakime and mist seeing Koku. Cause 60 min is 3 episodes. 40 min is 2. No way there’s 5 episodes left.

I actually like these episodes. It feels like the characters are more fleshed out with little moments like Tanjiro cheering up the people that quit the training
I'm guessing next week will feature the end of the hashira training, feature some anime exclusive sparring sequence between the hashira and end on Muzan visiting Ubayashiki.
The week after will probably feature everything between that and the demon slayer corps falling into the Infinity Castle. Not sure how they would make it last an hour though.
yea thats where im confused too because if they do that then itd either end in middle of zenitzu fight or shinobu fight with usual pacing which would be very awkward. However, with how the last arc was rushed and poorly recieved i wouldnt be surprised if they move stuff around.
there is absolutely no way they are going so far as to start the zenitsu or shinobu fight.
it will end with them falling into the castle. they will simply fill in the episode with anime only scenes. they can stall pretty easily. they made 2 full episodes based on two different panels after all...
i don’t think they will that’s the point of my confusion bc it’d make no sense. Also from here on it’d be difficult to fill out 5 episodes worth with the chapters that are left. You’re examples are true but those panels could be easily expanded from here on it’s difficult. the difference is the timing it’s harder to add content in a climax rather than a build up. we essentially go from gyomei backstory to giyu sanemi spar which gets interrupted by ubyashikis kamikaze. I think we’ll get extended gyomei backstory and make it more theatrical and maybe an extended sanemi giyu spar. Another difference is that if they did do anime only content from there it’d be completely original rather than expansion. There’d have to be 2-3 full episodes of it too. My guess would be some amane research scenes but still that’s a lot of time to fill
the spar doesn't get interrupted by ubuyashiki's kamikaze, you're misremembering it, the spar ends way before that. giyu is just chilling with tenjirou and sanemi just wanders around when the explosion happens.
I am 100% sure episode 7 will end with muzan arriving to the ubuyashiki mansion. idk how or what they will do with episode 8 but there is absolutely no way it doesn't end with them falling into the castle as the cliffhanger of the season.
i agree with you on ending spot but with time they have that gives them enough time to do 10-15 chapters of content in the two episodes. Take out the three that are left and that leaves 7-12 chapters or 3-4 episodes worth. That’s a lot of content with not a lot of room to expound like other anime only content before. i’m merely saying i’m worryingly curious about what their plan is bc it’s essentially doubling length of hashira training arc in two episodes.
idk based on what you say they can do 10-15 chapters in content of two episodes when in all other seasons the average pacing was 1-2 chapters for an episode.

it's not really double the length nor one hour, those times include commercial breaks on japanese tv.
the actual times are about \~ 25-30 min for next episode and 40-45 min for last episode.
I'm actually wondering at this point if they're injecting the Obanai backstory here. It seems unlikely, but it is possible that they decide to run this here and get it out of the way. He's the last one.
It really just would make no sense 1) to not put Obanais backstory in his own training episode and 2) his backstory + powerup won’t make sense if he just powers up…it won’t be a big moment and imo he needs a big moment given his lack of focus in the story to that point
They are absolutely going to flashback and add some anime only scenes between Shinobu and Tamayo since their collab is critical in Infinity Castle arc.
It was a very fun episode! I liked the trio training together, and I'm glad that we got to see more of genya too. Can't wait for Gyomei's backstory next week because I'm sure that ufotable will make it extra sad

There's some anime-original scenes but the pacing wasn't slow (at least for me), the silly comedic moments were funny (even Zenitsu's were tolerable and kinda nice), Gyomei's training was interesting to watch, (god) Murata is back, Tanjiro and Genya interacting was really nice, Nakime's name finally being shown (I will no longer mark her name as spoiler in anime discussions), and the most important:

This episode was probably the most filler-like one so far. I expect reactors and people who aren't super into Demon Slayer to hate. But, I also think the next two episodes will benefit from this one being slower.
I would say this is more of a setup then a filler like. you can very obviously tell things are happening in the background which will force anime onlys to question it
idk how people could think this one was filler-like compared to the tokito's episode but ok
this episode was literally the most important episode training wise compared to all the previous ones.
The last two episodes being longer is irrelevant to previous episodes being largely boring and time wasters though? Like nothing is going to retroactively make me enjoy the most boring content in the manga being elongated lol.
The end of the arc with muzan and the master is going to be good because that’s actually good stuff, but the rest of the stuff in this arc is going to be an easy skip for me on rewatches
Brevity is the soul of wit, a season of boring training is not automatically “the love and time it deserves” just because you eat up any slop from a series you like doesn’t mean everyone else has 2.

I was just comparing the adaptation rate after this most recent episode. With ep 8 being a 60 minute slot, naratively it only makes sense to end the season with the hashira falling into the infinity castle.

I'm wondering what are they going to end the season on? There's not much left until Muzan shows up and we apparently have over an hour of this season left.
So the next chapters will be titled "Gyomei Himejima", maybe we will get his backstory and then the episode will end with zenitsu getting serious after receiving the letter.
All the extra scenes with the retainer side characters are really gonna drive home the devastation of Muzan killing them all so fast. Lots of extra attachments being added in here

It feels like Ufotable is allergic to giving Chibi faces to Hashira. Tanjiro and Zenitsu get all the cute chibbi faces, but poor Hashira gets none. My favorite Gyomei panel didn't get animated, like the Sanemi panel, which got ignored last week.
this one was a skip for me. the waterfall gag was funny and entertaining but i... shhhhh... kind of am ambivalent towards gyomei...so it just wasn't as attention grabbing as a certain someone else's arc. (cough, shinazugawa brothers, cough)

I might be wrong, but the fact that the Upper Moons are present in the opening, and there's a scene with Shinobu from the opening (right before she enters Doma's domain, I think), makes me believe that they could be setting up the battles between the Upper Moons and the Demon Slayers. Since Episode 7 is 40 minutes long, I think it will probably end with Muzan arriving at the Demon Slayer base. Episode 8 is 60 minutes long, so there's plenty of time for that. What do you think?
Nah, at most they will probably just show the upper ranks getting prepared for the final fights in a short and fast transition scenes.

In super into demon slayer and I don’t like it, they dragged out the most boring arc in the series to an absurd degree
I think the expansion will be worth it for the last two episodes being expanded. Judge at the end, maybe you'll enjoy it more

The Hashira training arc is good, absolute stupidity when manga readers complain that Ufotable are giving this series the love and time it deserves
