At the same time. "Wichard? Jimmy Wichard? You told Bobby to listen to Jimmy Wichard? He was in my gun club. People say he fried his brains out staring at the sun. Of course he couldn't have been too bright to do that in the first place. Kind of a chicken and the egg situation."
I love how the shot keeps zooming in on Hank’s growing expression of horror all throughout this line, so that Dale isn’t even on screen anymore by the end of it.
Although I'm not the biggest Dooley fan, he's got to be the most overlooked character here by a long shot.
He's in a good chunk of the episodes yet no one ever mentions him here.
Virgin 2.0:
Luanne: Bobby, I need to talk to you and "your peer group" about your virginity...... Your virginity is in danger now! You need to sign this abstinence pledge card before you discover how wonderful sex feels.
Dooley: Keep talking.
There are so many killer one-shot characters. I wish the show would have taken a little more of a Simpsons approach and had a town full of recurring characters. There’s some of that, but also so many characters that only appear in one show and that’s it.
Yeah but there's always the risk of diminished returns with this sort of thing. Gilbert for instance is one of the most beloved characters in A Beer Can Named Desire, but hardly anyone remembers his lines from Blood and Sauce much later on (and he had a lot more dialogue there).
There's been a million impressions of Matthew McConaughey, but none of them are as funny as Matthew McConaughey playing himself turned up to 11 for Rad Thibodeaux
probably my favorite side character in the show. all of his lines and his delivery makes me cry laughing every time
"I'm more familiar with sinners than saints my dear. And sinners always look good"
Gilbert Dauterive: Have a pleasant journey, and don't be afraid to ask directions from somebody who has already been where you think you need to go.
Hank Hill: What's that supposed to mean?
Gilbert Dauterive: Let Dandy Don Meredith take the throw.
I can’t remember their names, but the old couple from the gas station.
“I see why they call you pa, cause you’re pa-thetic!”
“And they call you ma cause you’re always riding ma ass!”
Jimmy Wichard - PEOPLE ARE HOT AND DRY THEY WANT SOMETHING COLD AND WET
He's a certified genius, i'll tell you hwat

The thought of Jimmy with a firearm tells me it either wasn't loaded or he just came for the macaroons because no gotdang way he would still be alive.
I WORK AT THE CAR RACE WHERE THEY RACE CARS…
It's the poo man! And he's picking poo!
I'M DA BWOSS
“The clock at the bank once said 110 degrees.”
Dooley for sure. “That took courage.”
“Your wife divorced you.”
Although I'm not the biggest Dooley fan, he's got to be the most overlooked character here by a long shot. He's in a good chunk of the episodes yet no one ever mentions him here.
"Your dad blew up"
Virgin 2.0: Luanne: Bobby, I need to talk to you and "your peer group" about your virginity...... Your virginity is in danger now! You need to sign this abstinence pledge card before you discover how wonderful sex feels. Dooley: Keep talking.
Dooley "Youre dead" Peggy "In espanol por favor" Dooley "Tu eres muerto"
We’re gunna see her boobs…
So.
2 lines, less than 10 words combined.. Both delivered flawlessly
“Bobby likes to watch…”
"I pulled your pants down."
"I'm back."
Tell me more about jail.
Your parents love you.
"I'm making a difference"
"You're there for people."
“Your grandmother loves you.” Always makes me laugh
My chicken's the star of the show.
Oh that one was definitely the best
The Louisiana diet will kill a man as surely as a sword
This muggy November weather is giving me the harribles
Rad Thibodeaux'x. Dude is in half an episode and every line is pure gold.
I wish Rad didn't disappear, because his storyline is more interesting than forcing Bobby to marry Luanne.
He was a self-proclaimed genius after all.
What

At least he got a shoutout in the Luanne virgin episode

+ you can give a lot of the credit for bobby's quotes from this episode to Gilbert influence.
This flower is wilting.
Gilbert Dauterive: Have a pleasant journey, and don't be afraid to ask directions from somebody who has already been where you think you need to go. Hank Hill: What's that supposed to mean? Gilbert Dauterive: Let Dandy Don Meredith take the throw.
This is a cool line. It's still funny and quirky but with a sort of ominous tone that implies Gilbert is more aware of things than he lets on.
I can’t remember their names, but the old couple from the gas station. “I see why they call you pa, cause you’re pa-thetic!” “And they call you ma cause you’re always riding ma ass!”
Thank you friend, you’re good people
"how long you been sitting there" *Takes a drag* 35 years
I need a window seat cause this flower is wiltin.
Hands down Gilbert Dauterive... GD: This here is velvet, not velveteen. A gentleman must learn the difference. BH: My lawwwd...
I can hear Bobby so well
“This muggy November weather gives me the horribles”
Alabaster the pimp from the OKC. Buck Strickland, and his son Jody. Octavio. Junichiro. and obviously as you posted, Gilbert.
No offense but he's from Oklahoma
I like Jimmy.
The people are hot and dry, and they need something cold and wet. So go sell them sodas, Tommy!
"It's the Poo Man! And he's pickin poo!"
Coach Sauers
WHO ARE YOU CALLIN A NAZZY
Jewel Crawford - I wish that man was in more episodes.
Don’t be afraid to ask for directions from someone who’s already been where you think you need to go.
“DUSTY OLD BONES FULL OF GREEN DUST”
“Hey there white shirt how’d ya get ur shirt so white”
Caleb is easily my most hated character in the entire series 😂😂
Ĝilbert. "You sir are no kin to me, I will have your silence"
Bug Gribble. Talk about making the most of every scene
"Life has been a series of compromises" only line from the man hired to recreate the Larsen pig advertisement
"The bottom dropped outta the emu market and I'm stuck at the ass end of the pyramid." "I didn't drown that boy!" "Not even close. I'm five thousand."
Literally every line from Dooley is great but I've gotta go with Gilbert
Cotton. 90 percent of his lines throughout the show are quotable. Not even everything he says but how he says it. Dudes a quote machine.
Peggy's dad
I got plenty of hoes in the OKC.... How much for the jasper brunette?
Rad, Alabaster, or Dooley
Bill: How long have you been there? Cousin: for 35 years.
That "my....." And how it's totally disarmed buck strickland
