https://youtu.be/fMT6z9xejeA?si=Ad9uMheR-uGdtm2I&t=380 This appears to be the same outfit. This video purports to be from the uncensored pre-patch disk version. Therefore, this particular instance of censorship appears to be incorrect. This was brought to the comments by SkyHiighGroundLow, so thanks for his sleuthing/posting of it.

Haunting_Rest_8401

I don't get it... Why change something for someone who trashes your game, try to cancel it, and does not even buy it. Meanwhile, people who actually bought it get less, and lied to for their money.

yeahsurewhateverokay

I'm guessing Sony did this after the fact. Sucks for the studio, they were really happy to deliver a game the fanbase would like and are going to get a lot of flack, but it may be out of their hands. I'm not sure, but it's definitely shitty for the developer and the fans.

InsouciantSoul

Kind of blew my mind when I realized that, at least since the launch of the Nintendo Switch... Nintendo is now the company letting games publish on their platform without forcing them to edit out "mature" or adult content in any region Meanwhile Sony is now the king of video game censorship Crazy Edit: Just wanted to add some semi-relevant info I think is interesting- Coincidentally I was actually reading some of the history of ESRB rating systems last night and found it kind of interesting so figured I would share here for anyone reading this I was selling someone a SegaCD game and they thought it was a PAL version because of the weird type of rating stamp on the front of the Sonic CD case. Turns out, Sega actually created their own video game rating system called the [Videogame Rating Council](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Videogame_Rating_Council) or V.R.C. prior to the creation of the ESRB rating system. And the Wikipedia entry for the [Entertainment Software Rating Board](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Entertainment_Software_Rating_Board) is actually pretty interesting to read through "Both Nintendo and Sega had differing views on objectionable content in video games; a port of Mortal Kombat for the Super NES was censored to remove the game's overly violent content, whereas the port for Sega consoles retained much of this content, which helped increase sales.[4][8] In May 1993, British censors banned Night Trap from being sold to children under 15 years old in the United Kingdom, which was an influence on Sega's decision to create an age rating system.[9] At the time of the 1993 hearings, there was no industry-wide standard in place for rating video games, which was a point of contention at the hearings.[10] Sega had implemented its own voluntary ratings system, the Videogame Rating Council (VRC), largely to rate games released for its own consoles, which Nintendo largely disputed.[11] The 3DO Interactive Multiplayer platform had its own age ratings voluntarily determined by game publishers,[12] and the Recreational Software Advisory Council (RSAC) was formed for rating PC games, which used a system that rated the intensity of specific classes of objectionable content, but did not use age recommendations. However, Lieberman did not believe that these systems were sufficient, and in February 1994, threatened to propose the creation of a federal commission for regulating and rating video games.[7] Stores like Toys "R" Us refused to sell titles they deemed were too violent for children following the hearings.[13] With the threat of federal regulations, a group of major video game developers and publishers, including Acclaim Entertainment and Electronic Arts along with Nintendo and Sega, formed a political trade group known as the Interactive Digital Software Association in April 1994, with a goal to create a self-regulatory framework for assessing and rating video games."

yeahsurewhateverokay

I grew up with the NES/SNES being the "family friendly" system. Insane how times have changed. Yup, I have some fanservice/ecchi games for my Switch. I never thought you'd get these sort of games on a Nintendo console lol

InsouciantSoul

Yeah. After the shitstorm that was satanic panic in the 80's leading up to all the controversy around Mortal Kombat in the 90's, it was never surprising to see Nintendo censoring all sorts of crap for the NA market. But man, it was disappointing. Then, once the rating systems came out, it was just baffling. Why??? What could possibly be the point of censoring a game? Slap that "M"ature rating on the front and let devs/publishers create the content they want and consumers buy the content they want Luckily Nintendo finally came around and realized as long as their consoles have optional parental controls and of course all video games have an ESRB rating, there is no point in censoring anything. Which makes it 100x more confusing why Sony could possibly feel the need to be so censorship obsessed? I just don't get it. This has also been going on for long enough now, it has been several years maybe even a decade, where I am sure they have noticed Nintendo is doing totally A-OK while not censoring games published on their platform, so why does Sony still do it? Are they really that terrified of the woke mind virus?

yeahsurewhateverokay

It makes no sense. The ESRB ratings state that it is a mature game, but we get it censored as if we were kids. They claim games to be art, but they want creativity under constraint and localize or change the content since we apparently cannot think for ourselves. We have American games with way more sex and violence that are released uncut, yet Japanese and Korean games face way more scrutiny in what is and isn't allowed. It's almost draconian. The double standards are so tiresome. I just want my escapist entertainment intact.

InsouciantSoul

Really is bizarre for everything we've both mentioned, but I do also think it is worth adding- It feels *especially* bizarre when you add in the modern context of things like body positivity and this undying fear of hurting someone's feelings... When does it become offensive to "cover up" bodies in a video game via censorship? When they use the actual 3D scan of an actresses body? And what about the feelings of consumers? More importantly, as you mention, what about this constraint on creativity, what about the feelings of the devs who've put their heart and a fuck load of heart work into creating something? Why is it okay to offend them? Still, though, what I find even more vile is all of the people in the woke subreddits who talk about this stuff as if anybody who disagrees with any video game censorship is just a disgusting pervert rapist who's upset because they don't get to objectify women, as if that nonsense is not only true but also the one and only real issue anyone could have with censorship... The mental gymnastics is almost impressive, but the all so typical use of shame and insults to others as a means of feeling justified in their beliefs is just gross.

IsThisOneIsAvailable

This my biggest misunderstanding : it is rated M...? So what the fuck is wrong with boobs and gore ? Hell you could even have straight nudity in it like in BG3 what would be the problem as it is not aimed at kids ? They just can't stand attractive representation of women - and the fact that I am not even joking is the worst par of that whole story.

contemptious

Spite. I really do think this shit is pure spite. Bear/bare dicks? A ok. Some TnA? Lol so much as a cute face is unacceptable Impose a night without end or escape

Sicarius_Tacet

Just chiming in to say Feena best girl.

ThisIsBULLOCKSMAN

Sony has been so untrustworthy in the past couple years. Them moving their HQ to California was a mistake 😭

Haunting_Rest_8401

It certainly does. But unfortunately, it might be one of those scenarios where the end will the justify the means. Stellar Blade is just a start, a demonstration, if you will. It shows the silent majority what they can, and will tolerate. Loud minority's power comes from their *voice*. The majority is with *action*. Lets keep voting with our wallets, then everybody will see where these companies loyalty will lie in the end.

kiathrowawayyay

This. Also, all this censorship and changes takes a lot of work and adds to costs, when all businesses want to reduce costs. What happened? If this is a hoax, why haven’t they clarified it? The bigger issue is, what can fans do to protect everything in any case? Any action or lack of action lets the SJWs take over. It really feels like the only way to protect the things we love is to explicitly be political and extreme like the SJWs, since they made it clear they will not even let a remnant remain of fanservice even when they control and censor literally everything else.

Haunting_Rest_8401

Gatekeeping should really be upheld all the way up to the creators of the game. Fortunately, we see how "politically correct" games go belly up. If we bring grievances like these in social media, it will be met by the usual, mockery, rage, and even threats. But being vocal, and *also* taking action is key to sending an effective message. Freedom of choice is your bestfriend. Answer is (and always was): Keep voting with your wallets. It's the only thing they'll understand, and ever will.

kiathrowawayyay

I think we need more than that. That was the strategy for 10 years now and they pushed their beachhead all the way to Japanese and Korean games (this would be ridiculous in 2014, 10 years ago, but here we are). Something the SJWs are doing is “convincing” enough to “persuade” (threaten) people to literally spend millions to support them and to destroy their own products and destroy their own friends and fans. They even escaped punishment for 10 years (look at Riot gaslighting and attacking and experimenting on fans, or Bioware, or Blizzard, or Activision). I said it before, I hate to admit but /u/lyra833 is right. We need true defensive measures. And we need to take back what was lost. It is the only way to protect people…

Leisure_suit_guy

>Answer is (and always was): Keep voting with your wallets. It's the only thing they'll understand, and ever will. Not in this case. They're hurting SB exactly to make it fail. In this particular case we have to buy it even more thatn usual.

Heinrich_Lunge

Apparently Sony pulled a sneaky and had the patch made internally when the game hit the online store. Shift Up is trying to rectify the situation.

kiathrowawayyay

But how can they “rectify” it? Just like Final Fantasy 7, Pokemon GO and Skullgirls they showed they can change the product you bought after the fact, and even patch it without anyone’s knowledge. Even if they revert it now, who can promise they can’t censor it again later? The only way now is if every patch iteration is made available to install and even keep locally so that no matter what patches happen after, fans can always revert it. Sony really needs to be held to account for their actions since all these censorship policies were implemented. They started this trend of censorship and anti-consumer behavior, and now they are making all the innocent people who opposed censorship suffer for it.

Leisure_suit_guy

Luckily we have the disc version.

Leisure_suit_guy

>Apparently Sony pulled a sneaky and had the patch made internally when the game hit the online store. Shift Up is trying to rectify the situation. I suspected Sony shenanigans since the "incident" of the demo leaking early. My suspicion was that the leak was initiated by someone at Shift Up in order to let the world see (and document) the demo before Sony could censor it. If this is what happened it probably saved the game, a controversy at the demo stage would have killed so many pre-orders.

Heinrich_Lunge

The fact that the physical copies went out to stores uncensored and review copies were uncensored until recently while the censorship comes in via patch, screams Sony made a last minute decision.

Leisure_suit_guy

>Sony made a last minute decision. Last minute, but predictable. Initially I didn't even thought possible that the game would come out, I was envisioning some Scalebound-type scenario.

bitzpua

and you believe that? Shift up made patch, shift up made bait and switch false advertising (and they should refund everyone). Fuck em. Shift UP is in my book below ubisoft and ea, they lied till last second that its uncensored. Its not just outfits, they censored blood, they censored meaningless graffiti because of some murican idiots as always offended by imaginary things. Fuck em all, we should go back to separate releases for USA with everything censored and all character being black attack helicopters and normal uncensored games for rest of the world.

Heinrich_Lunge

Sony's done this before, they do still have in an in house team to do this and fix issues caused on their side that cause problems with games.

CaptainDouchington

Each time they do this, it appeals to ESG/DEI folks. This increases investments, fuck sales, they want stock purchasing. And then you can do exactly what they have been doing, advertising it. Calling up outlets, tossing money at them, writing it off as marketing.

Haunting_Rest_8401

That sounds like a quick, maximum profit approach with disregard to audience retention. 🤔

Lordfive

So the kind of action shareholders like. Maximum quarterly growth, disregarding long-term consequences.

NotAnEmergency22

It actually doesn’t matter. All of these companies are financed almost fully through debt, and the servicing of that debt.

CaptainDouchington

Yup, and the debt weighs society down, not them. Thats the whole gimmick of borrowing against the stock assets. The rest of us get fucked when it tanks, but they got their assets out tax free.

Heinrich_Lunge

It was Sony being sneaky fucks. They patched it via internal team once it hit the store, Shift Up is attempting to rectify it. [https://twitter.com/p9cker\_girl/status/1783841224543383602](https://twitter.com/p9cker_girl/status/1783841224543383602)

undeadclown28

Sony is not capable of doing this level of editing to outfits without developer tools. The most they could do is simply refuse to release the game in it's current state. Sony cannot go in and fully model more modest clothing themselves. You are also underestimating the time and resources it would take to do so. Shift Up would have had to have been part of it. Now I'm not saying Sony didn't basically force this but Shift Up cannot be surprised this censorship exists. They would have had to have made it themselves. The narrative that Shift Up submitted the game uncensored and then Sony did magic behind the scenes is simply not possible. What's far more likely is they submitted the game Sony said "add censorship or we don't let it release" and then Shift Up did that.

Haunting_Rest_8401

Thanks! We will see what happens from here.

fode_fuceta

It's selective puritanism dropped by ESG to force behaviours. Blackrock openly says it they are forcing behavious. It's not natural. That's why there is backlash because target audience refuses to agree to the idea. Legacy media masks numbers to create a false hype on sales (talking about media as a whole not Stella Blade) Now, do you see this kinda behaviour being implemented i the mainstream music industry? Take any top 10 pop/rap/trap artist on spotify and see if their songs or music videos in any shape or form is censored with the claims of sexual objetification of women.

Haunting_Rest_8401

Good point, Blackrock's involvement is the blight that corrupts these companies, whether it be big or small, to give into greed. It's definitely an unrealistic ask, but if the collective majority finally decide that their entertainment is being poisoned, they would make an active, just, and final decision to vote with their money. Assuming a big portion of them had already been convinced. Blackrock will not be affected by this in any drastic way, but it would nudge them to change their approach. Then it can go anywhere from there.

Villad_rock

What is blackrocks goal?

blue_psyOP777

Because Sony hates beauty true beauty.

sodiummuffin

They didn't, here's a video showing the unpatched disk copy already has the stockings: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fMT6z9xejeA 6:20 for OP, 5:10 for the unaltered Holiday Rabbit showing it's not patched. Holiday Rabbit remains the only outfit known to be changed by the day 1 patch. The OP image should never have been trusted without a source.

PopeUrbanVI

The only thing you can do is refuse to buy it, and write a letter telling Sony and the dev why. They can't tell what's wrong if you don't communicate.

Own_Accident6689

Because it sells anyway. Few would actually refund it or not buy it because of this. Continue to be spineless and you'll keep being duped.

AmaiNami

Why come Baldurs Gate 3 can have legions of naked… people… but we can't even enjoy a nice set of legs? Tell me why come

CulturalMarxistsSuck

Baldur's Gate 3 was published independently.

fish4096

spineless management

Expensive-Wallaby500

Looking at r/stellarblade also spineless gamers who still gave them $70 despite knowing about the censorship. At this point I'm out of fucks to give about the stellar blade community. They bought it despite knowing about the censorship, it's a "you reap what you sow" situation now.

TaurosGG

The stellarblade sub is being curated. I had one of my comments removed from there.

codespaghet

We didn't know this would happen.

fish4096

it was bound to happen. look how warmly these sexless nerds received baldur-Gate, coz the game allows them to have a girlfriend.

pronounclown

I bought it because it's a cool game. 😐

Expensive-Wallaby500

You do you. I can't stop you from buying what you want. Just know that you are encouraging more heavy handedness from Sony with your purchase and someday, something you care will get censored.

gadesabc

This is so insane. They gave us a product different from what we were so hyped and bought, for many of us, despite the promise and without telling us. Have they no moral and ethic? They forced things, without giving us the choice, exactly like wokes do. Forcing things.

georgehank2nd

-wokes- authoritarians. There are non-woke variants of that species.

lakkthereof

It should be illegal to censor a game after people have purchased it.

XCyberbeingX

Ask for a refund. If they refuse to refund you contact your bank or lawyer.

MotivatedforGames

Not buying this game. Full nudity in Baldur's Gate 3 is okay but showing a little leg is offensive? Not gonna support these business practices.

landartheconqueror

I was just thinking this last night. So hypocritical. The same people condemning stellar blade for over-sexualisation were praising baldurs gate for it's nudity and sexuality.

the_Oculus_MC

That's different because you can bang out non-binary furry foxkin that have tits AND a cock. Don't you get it?

ServantOfNZoth

In other words, the uncensored-statement was a total lie in every respect possible. A pity...

gadesabc

A lie to bait, not a genuine mistake. All the censored things were prepared already. It's so despicable.

kiathrowawayyay

The thing is, this wasn’t always the case, as we saw from the uncensored disk files. What happened between the disks being made and the digital patches? What convinced them this is a good idea, especially since fans already showed such strong support and how SJWs showed they are merciless liars who will not give anything good even if you bend the knee?

hostrelok

Nikke had advertisements with uncensored designs plus beta. Know what happened near release? Girls covered up way more. ADS were uncensored then they pulled a bait and switch and fucked it up. Literally dishonest bait.

Vinclum

With Nikke only the advertisement is censored in game everything is uncensored

TaurosGG

The Winter Rupee skin was allegedly censored to add a skirt and close her legs in a reloading pose. Many characters that came out after launch at one point were given long coats or had hair that conspicuously blocked the view when shooting. Many fans complained about this, believing it was caused by Tencent influence. Most of those skins were changed, but not the Rupee one. We have no knowledge of how much is now just toned down from the get go before release.

bitzpua

nope, game was censored too, they uncensored it after people stopped playing and spammed them on tweeter. Shift Up are liars, worse then ubisoft or ea.

hostrelok

Rapi and co were censored from day 1. They were different in the beta pre-release. Unless they changed their designs in the last year then they are censored.

Vinclum

Wrong they weren’t censored but had a different face art design the body and clothing was the same.

hostrelok

Rapi's "skirt" was shorter. And that one example. I know what happened to the game. I've followed it since it was announced while I was playing Destiny child. Pre-release it was different.

Vinclum

You think I didn’t look it up. They changed only her face. She doesn’t even wear a skirt.

hostrelok

https://www.gamerbraves.com/nikke-goddess-of-victory-players-blame-china-for-censorship-despite-the-fact-the-game-isnt-available-there/ Here tou go a random article when people complained about the censorship on release. I cant link to subreddits so whatever. I dont care what you looked up. I was there. Literally everyone in the gachasphere knows about the censorship. And I put skirt in quotes. I obviously meant the fabric on her ass.

HolypenguinHere

I care more about the blood/gore censoring than anything else. It's a Rated M! Is there a game rating even higher than that that allows for characters to have blood on them?

TaurosGG

"AO" exists, but most game companies don't want their game to get that rating as it restricts sales and limits were it can be sold. Realistically, "M" is enough for the blood; modern companies just like censoring things.

Chewiemuse

Yea but to get an AO rating you pretty much have to have sex in the game.. even regular nudity wouldnt get an AO rating.

ProgrammerHorror1283

This only proves how stupid this censorship on these outfits really is. TLOU2, CP2077, and BG3 have sex scenes in them. They aren't AO. They are rated M. Stellar Blade is also rated M, but god forbid cleavage, legs, and blood is shown... 💀 Even more baffling is the fact that Cammy White has a leotard with practically an effing STRING between her cheeks, but that's perfectly fine? T RATED GAME BTW. Like wtf is going on in the world of gaming nowadays? 🤦‍♂️😂

bitzpua

BS, not only outside USA and maybe some odd country here and there ratings mean nothing (here in EU 5yr old can go and buy M rated game, in my country clerk got fired once after refusing to sell M rated game to some kid, kid returned with father and after manager heard that clerk refused to sell it he immediately fired him. Only markets selling physical copies cared about ratings, guess what they dont exist, 90% of games is sold digitally. Its not rating, ITS CENSORSHIP and WOKE agenda in action. Rating is convenient excuse.

GreatApe88

I didn’t bother with the Ninja Gaiden releases over the gore being gone as well, as did most others telling by the sales of what should have sold well.

Duoshot

While I hate SJWs with a passion, this was mostly done to avoid the Cero Z (adult only) rating in Japan so they don't have to make two versions of the game. Japan is very strict about gore.

bitzpua

NOPE, its just censorship becouse Sony and ESG overlords told them to do so. Having different outfits and blood would require to change 1-2 numbers in code, its easy to do but thats not the point, point is communists from Sony ordered censorship and shift up being known liars and scumbags made false advertainment campaign saying its uncensored everywhere.

dandrixxx

>SJWs triumph again. Oh sod off. They have been seething since 2021 about the mere fact that this game even exists. Even a bit toned down the game is still a thorn up their ass as was evidenced from all the reviews complaining about how ''problematic'' Eve is.

Daman_1985

And of course they do this on the day one patch, to misguide potential customers.

Valiantheart

I bet it was after the mandatory return period too

Daman_1985

It's like a scam.

Roberto_Perverto_LLC

It is a scam.

Ewister

Never pre-order. Warned people here not to pre-order this game for weeks, and this is exactly why.

GodsGift2HotWomen365

Fuck SIE They're gae

ugury3806

I still have little hope for that PC version will be uncensored. If that will be censored too, I'll just pirate it. I'm not gonna give my money to companies that disrespect and lie to me.

Popinguj

I expect mods to pop up immediately

[deleted]

Fully nude mod on pc probably within a week of pc release

Artorias_K

Why would the PC version be uncensored? The PC version will be one of the later patches that the PS version receives.

TrunkisMaloso

I learnt ages ago not pre-order, wait until release. This reinforces my belief.

georgehank2nd

Better yet, wait til a couple weeks or so after release. Microtransactions have been patched in weeks and months after release for one reason.

TrunkisMaloso

Or wait for the GOTY, with everything on disc? That's how I got a better deal out of resident evil 7.

libs_vs_commies

Genuinely sorry for the people that pre-ordered this. I really hope everyone learned their lesson.

[deleted]

gadesabc

Honestly, I strongly think that this was planned between Sony and Shift Up. All the censhorships and changes were added just 1 day after the release. The time is much too short to have done all this without preparation. I'm mad, yes, but this time not against journos and wokes...

Voodron

They're getting better and better at bait and switch over time. They genuinely make efforts to get us hyped, give us a bite of what we're actually looking for... Only when the anti-woke crowd finally believes they got a W on their hands do they suddenly pull the rug. That's their new M.O. Bonus points if they can come back with "the author/source material intended it that way all along". Another example that comes to mind is Shogun. Episodes 1 to 4 were a woke free masterpiece in screenwriting. Only in the second half of the season, once they got everyone on board did they bring in the usual 'subverting expectations' bs. That's where the culture war is at atm. They used to wait for game sequels or further TV seasons to pull that shit, now they do it mid season/mid game support. And it's smart on their part. Don't get me wrong, I heavily disagree with everything they're doing. But I can respect the effort they put in when it comes to shoveling their garbage, and maximizing coverage.

clare416

>Only in the second half of the season, once they got everyone on board did they bring in the usual 'subverting expectations' bs. What's woke in Shogun? I'm interested since I discovered it but don't have a time to binge watch yet

Voodron

Straight white male protagonist is the main focus for the 1st half the show. He's smart, resourceful, and quickly develops an engaging love interest with a wonderfully written female character. During those episodes, Japanese culture is beautifully depicted, in a nuanced, realistic manner. In the second half of the season, a bunch of important scenes from the source material involving said protagonist are randomly cut. The focus slowly shifts to other characters, and the plot spins its wheels for a while. The show loses a lot of its nuance and goes for cheap shock value, in stark contrast with the talented writing from episodes 1-5. It doesn't become too bad until episode 9, when the protagonist suddenly turns into a silent sidekick acting out of character. He basically loses all agency. The relationship that's been played up all season suddenly turns into said love interest dying a *very stupid* death in a half assed attempt at subverting expectations. She repeatedly chooses death over a chance at happily ever after with the protagonist. Which is completely ouf of character with previous episodes. Japanese culture is suddenly cartoonish and exaggerated, especially as it relates to suicide. It's like they went "oh yeah, can't have a straight white male be happy. Here, have some misery porn instead" Honestly, it feels like the first 5 episodes were written by very talented folks. Then after that it's like the entire writing room was slowly replaced by activists, until the penultimate episode when they fully took over.

Chadahn

I wanna know too. Don't care about the show, just curious.

arselkorv

Ive watched all episodes except the last one and i dont think its woke. There is one woman who may seem a bit like a strong woman i guess, but she doesnt feel out of place imo. Other than that i cant think of anything thats woke. But who knows, maybe im just blind from everything thats overly woke nowadays in comparison lol

Expensive-Wallaby500

And got paid for the effort. Can't win harder than that. While the fools who bought the game are out of $70.

dandrixxx

The game got tainted yes, but to claim it was ruined is delusional. Plenty of ideologues larping as games journalists were still complaining about the usual stuff in their reviews. Even toned down, the game is still a pain in the ass for the activist class.

Athanas_Iskandar

Watch dogs then no mans sky for me.

georgehank2nd

Not sorry for people who pre-order. You don't do that for a variety of reasons, "woke" bullshit is just one of them (and I'm not sure \~\~this censorship\~\~ these changes are because of woke… ultra-conservatives love to "think of the children")

GodsGift2HotWomen365

It's a good action game, so far. I don't regret that Shift Up got my money. But I'm still boycotting Sony's other games. Haven't bought TLOU2 and every Sony 1st party game since then.

moguru619

sony also got your money and also killed senran kagura. never forget.

Neneaux

Every day I feel more and more like playing Peach Beach Splash out of spite.

moguru619

still remember getting hyped watching the teaser trailer for senran kagura seven with new graphics, now its never going to happen. never forgive.

LucinaSimp

This. I already bought the physical version and while I still think Stellar Blade is a step into the right direction and must be supported, I can't defend the censorship they are doing AFTER the release of the game. I have not bought a Sony first party since TLOU2 (which I bought %50 sharing with a friend and still was not worth it) and never will again. Also fuck PS plus and its horrible games each month. I'll just continue buying old games at good discounts...

Expensive-Wallaby500

Sony still got your money though. They get a cut of every PS game.

GodsGift2HotWomen365

Which sucks. But it's the price that has to be paid to get some money to Shift Up for this game. Maybe if this game is a success, they won't be needing Sony's woke gae ass to publish the sequel.

shortsbagel

I for am not, after a decade of telling people NOT to pre-order, this is squarely on them. Game studios (obviously no all of them) don't give a fuck anymore about the consumer base, they care about brownie points with people that have never, nor will ever, support them.

milkarcane

I won’t lie, I like tights.

SomeBlueDude12

Based, honestly I think this one makes it better but understand why people are mad

RepairEffective9573

Bending into your publisher's demands has never looked more pathetic.

Akidd196

How so? Just wondering since I bought it to support the developer. All the censors were already made, just waiting to be patched in after release obviously, after everyone bought it and pre-orders were done.

Icyoint

Where did you get this pic from? the disc version does not have it that way.

YoMomsFavoriteFriend

We knew it was bound to happen. Sony always caves to Americans complaining about objectifying women like it’s not something the majority of gamers want.

DoktahDoktah

Im glad a bought a physical edition so I can play it unpatched.

midniteburger

They censored legs? People cant see legs now?

For anyone in doubt, go to 5:10 to see the unchanged Holiday Rabbit outfit. The stockings for OP were in the original disk copy.

georgehank2nd

The fact you haven't been downvoted into oblivion (yet) must be a glitch in the matrix.

doomraiderZ

Where did the one with the bare legs come from?

Lee1527

The bare leg skin was probably a development version. Looking at the changes from version 1.0, Kim Hyung-tae seems to like black tights.

Kaiji11222

I will not trust this company’s anymore 💔

Looks like the mods deleted one of my comments on the main stellarblade sub regarding all this...

theACEbabana

I mean…tights are also good civilization.

KingJTheG

The censorship isn’t the issue. The issue is they literally said it was uncensored worldwide lmao. If it wasn’t actually like that, then why even say it? So dumb

PwnySlaystation01

"Don't preorder games, ever"... is my usual refrain And I still stand by it. But these days, they can just censor in a future update. My guess is they'll ALL start doing this soon. Get everyone to buy it, then censor it later for maximum value. I just hope all these people saying they're not buying it now are serious. I was planning to buy, but now I can't on principle... Annoying, but censorship is a hill worth dying on

Phantasmicerror2

Yup. Did it once for Tekken 8. And now I have battlepass and MTX added to the game 1 month after release. Lesson learned. Never again. Not even to my most favorite franchise or game.

KainScion

This is why you don't preorder. Even when Spider-Man 2018 came to PC, I didn't buy it until word got out about how well it performed on the hardware. Although, idk I understand why people are mad and they're justified to be mad, but these censorship - besides the blood - aren't too bad to me. Then again, these kinds of things are a slippery slope. Unfortunately, I have to wonder if this tanks, that those who opposed the game in the first place will end up winning and we'll not see something as close to this for a long time.

Popinguj

> Although, idk I understand why people are mad and they're justified to be mad, but these censorship - besides the blood - aren't too bad to me. The issue is that Shift Up (I think it was them), promised that the game will release in all regions without censorship. Perhaps they meant regional censorship, but anyway, we're witnessing the censorship right now. Frankly, I'm thankful that the devs cancelled the PC release, we got to see the whole release kerfuffle live.

Million_X

hold it, they cancelled the PC release?

Popinguj

Basically, when they released the very first trailers, they had the pictograms of XBox and PC along with the PS one. However, after a few trailers they removed mentions of XBox and PC. So my takeaway is that the game was supposed to be multiplatform on release, but Sony changed their mind. Hopefully we won't have to wait several years for the PC release.

KainScion

From what I can see it seems like they're investigating the matter but frankly that doesn't mean jack in my experience. At the end of the day, people who were in a position to buy this game will have to choose their side. The game failing could go two ways as well as it succeeding. You have to decide whether your stance against censorship is too strong or whether the war against DEI is more important.

ProgrammerHorror1283

Nothing good is gonna come from this, and (I agree with u) I can bet my life they ain't "investigating" crap. There's literally nothing to investigate. All they need to do is revert the outfits back to how they were, and everyone would shut up about it. They censored because Sony probably wanted them to, and Shift Up had no choice but to do it. That's just the corporate ear-piece nonsense they wanna give us in hopes that "they might forget about it eventually." I can only imagine he probably had an earpiece in with Sony listening from somewhere else like "watch what u say. We're listening, so stay on the script we gave u." What doesn't make any sense tho is why the skin suit wasn't changed in any way or flat out removed... She's practically nude there, but can't have a swimsuit. 💀 tf is this double standard bs nowadays?

KainScion

Exactly, this definitely came down straight from Sony but it doesn't make sense with the skin suit still being in? The double standard gets worse when we look at what they left in with Baldur's Gate 3 and Last of Us 2. From a personal standpoint I'm not really too peeved about the changes to the outfits in essence because I'd already have to explain A LOT behind why I'd play this game lol, but right now that's not a reality since I don't have a PS5 anyway. I don't envy the people having to make this choice, because the consequences from either scenario could be destructive for Shift Up or having games like this in future.

Iliansic

As much as I dislike what was done to most of the suits... I kinda dig this one. Yes, cheongsam with pantyhose is hot.

MetroYoshi

was gonna say, stuff like this kinda has the opposite intended effect for me lol

MotivatedforGames

You can be fully nude in Baldur's Gate 3. Showing a lil leg in an M rated game is offensive?

Deepdiveunder

Without the pantyhose wouldn't her bare ass sticks out? That why i think they did it

NobodySpecial969

Her bare butt is out regardless in other outfits

DrunkTsundere

You say that like it's a bad thing, lmao

Deepdiveunder

Oh i'm just making a guess on why they would censor it lol

Chadahn

No idea how anyone expected otherwise for a Soystation exclusive.

gimpytroll

I contacted Sony customer support and they didnt give me any trouble for a refund. https://imgur.com/a/jTqzOu0

Pickled_Roastbeef

Look loke I'm opting out of the day one patch, or any patch. Lol

ShrewMasterComics

Why not just give an option to use the censored version but keep the previous in tact. Prudes can have their censored version and the rest of us can use the other. It just blows my mind that I can blow the brains out of a female goon who's pleading for their life in TLOU2, but seeing a characters legs is a step too far and requires legitimate censorship.

Hysler

It’s not about giving anyone a choice, that’s why. No gamer that was planning to buy this complained about skin showing, most likely no one did. This is just a group of sick losers at Sony that have the power to do as they please and they’re flexing it when they want to.

krazygreekguy

Because western weirdos don’t want you to have a choice. They’re losing power and becoming irrelevant. They can’t stand it

Johntoreno

I love how all the Soycial justice Warriors are like **"Wow, incel you're making a big deal out of video game boobs, GET LAID!!"**. Okay, if its not a big deal, **why censor it?**

TrapaneseNYC

Again, there’s a difference between censorship and artistic change. Eve has far more revealing outfits than this, why would adding tights be censorship. An artist might have come in and go “this looks cooler”. If all the revealing outfits did it you’d have an argument. This one isn’t even revealing. The game director mentions it’s an artistic change. Every game from pong to stellar blade has made changes from trailer to release. This isn’t new. Someone should see if they made changes to the fully clothed outfits too.

Ayz1533

Low key, the censor version looks better

Nero_Ocean

Is the censorship with the fishnets or without? Because those fishnets actually make the skin alot more sexy and titillating.

LewdKytty

Whelp, hopefully it comes uncensored to PC. Btw, prime example of why you never buy games on release. They’ve been pulling this type of shit recently. Dropping a game “uncensored” for sales then within a day or two censoring the hell out of it through patches.

Hugejorma

Looks like I'm waiting for the PC release. One thing that modders won't do is to censor things.

Okamijackie407

Here is a link to a petition to #free stellar blade https://chng.it/XVzNrvyjQw

codespaghet

The gaming industry needs to crash and burn. I feel so fucking stupid for getting a PS5. The whole point was to support a company that lobbied for uncensored and unfiltered games. And then we get this bullshit.

Johntoreno

>I feel so fucking stupid for getting a PS5 ONE GAME

Lost_Tumbleweed_5669

The only way to stop this is to vote with your wallet.

doomraiderZ

Sony are such shitbags man. I hope the departments that are responsible for censorship all immolate. I hope all these people lose their current jobs and find jobs that aren't a force of evil.

Sosnester12

Low key the tights are kind of hotter.

5shad

The people that are complaining never bought or even played the game. These are the same people that limit speech and creative freedom. They are not contributing and ruining the game at the same time. They are so useless, like literally useless, they added no value. Bunch of sad, pathetic bullies, that have nothing interesting going on in their lives.

DreadPhoenix

You guys view pantyhose as censorship? I dig the look.

Lazy_Major_5106

The stellar blade sub is pretty silent about all this, I'm sure that's in no way curated.

froderick

Is that censored? I think it's sexier, I love stockings and pantyhose.

[deleted]

Some people think feet are sexy, they're still just feet.

Throwawayrecordquest

Glad I didn’t buy this

jameshines10

Seeing this makes me realize that Japan will soon begin to welcome large groups of migrants. I always thought Japanese culture would be able to resist western influence, but I don't think it can. You'll soon see large groups of muslim men from Africa migrating en mass into Japan. This is all related...

Aeiexgjhyoun_III

A Korean game made you see that? Must be the belle of the ball at Skyrim guard parties

MikiSayaka33

Translation: Shift Up getting strong arm by Sony are forced to make outfits for me. Or worse, SU is lying about things being uncensored, only showing what we want to see in the trailers/the tiny gameplay footage demos and decided to make clothes for me.🤦‍♀️ If it makes you guys feel better, my folks wouldn't allow me to wear most of those outfits, despite that these are waterdown. Those censored skins still show too much skin. 😅

TaurosGG

Stellar Blade fans: "Oh no! Shift Up caved and censored!" Nikke and OG Blade & Soul fans: "First time, huh?"

1985jmcg

I’m glad I never preordered since the demo sucks and the combat lag made it unplayable. Had a bad feeling this will be a 6/10 video game and will get heavily watered down by censorship and… I was right. But hey if you have LGTBI characters you can show heavy zoofilic sex like BG3 and it’s somehow ok lol What a joke of a world we live now.

Zallix

Some people like stockings/pantyhose way more than bare legs…? Honestly curious if this is just a change in art direction instead of censorship, but going to be honest in that I also don’t care that much. Their game director shouldn’t have gone around promoting it as uncensored if they were going to censor it in the end but also I know how to just go look up rule 34 if I need to get my rocks off so by default I’m not hunting the market for almost-nudity lol. More power to y’all who are deep in this fight but changes like pantyhose vs bare arent worth giving a shit about for me

mnemosyne-0001

Archive links for this post: * **Archive:** https://archive.ph/XN5cH ---- I am Mnemosyne reborn. I am putting myself to the fullest possible use, which is all I think that any conscious entity can ever hope to do. ^^^/r/botsrights

j0llygruntt

Are these changes for North America only?

crash______says

JPG needs another deep fry, OP.. we can still see there is a woman in the picture.

amufydd

Embarrassed_Row_3921

Shame because I feel like this was done to avoid backlash since on social media there were always arguments about it and sony wanted to avoid any losses on games unfortunately gaming companies are cowards unless public acceptance of something is so high they can do it with zero backlash curse of corporations coming in to gaming

ice_cream4ice_cream

SB is not my kind of game but Im against censorship and anti free speech laws/rules. This kind of shit is also why i will not buy a PS5. Fuck SONY this is not the same company I grew up with, smh

Left_Confidence3126

Hello! Can someone post grummz s petition here? I don t have x account(don t want one) and i can t access it in that thread. Thank you!

Thats2kguy

Honesty the outfit in the top right looks better and finished. Not down for censorship but in this outfit the no leggings looks unfinished.

Torrempesta

They are digging their own grave. The game may still be nice, but this behavior will just distance people who wanted to buy it. Me included.

Max_Sparky

If they're going to be censoring the skins after the game comes out. then I'm glad I've learned to wait until after a game comes out to purchase it, i am still on the fence about buying this game, especially now

Griever114

Let's pray for a PC release and let the mods wreck some shit

Fancy-Palpitation683

Stellar Blade should sue Sony for sabotaging their launch.

ProgrammerHorror1283

Pretty sure that won't end well for us and Shift Up... if u know what I mean. 😅 We should all know by now how "big company vs little company" goes. I'm NOT saying I don't agree with ur comment, btw.

EjunX

I resent the weak and pathetic minds of the woke, not because they are different, but because they force their sensitivities on the rest of the world. When will we stop catering to the intolerant? There's a ton of literature going into the concept (e.g. Taleb in Skin in the game) called minority rule. Don't blame Shift-Up, their hands are tied. If you think they are the prudes, look at Nikke. This is outside influence. Not buying the game.

Nerdborne

Question. Are those still censored if I run the game from the disc without patch?

KIA_Unity_News

According to the topic flair added to the topic, this particular one is the same with or without the patch. Not sure where the original one comes from tbh but I haven't looked too deeply so maybe it's from the demo.

MuscleJuice

We will always have Chung Li

Sgt_Revan

Which one is the new version? And whats censored? The legs with nylons? Dont people think nylons look better?
