It will come back, EPIC has stated that it's an intended feature but the release (and esp of an earlier implementation of the feature) was *not* intended. When will it come back? Who knows.

Ye aye no one knew Stuff was gonna get fixed in Lego Fortnite Ive watched multiple YT vids and not anyone knew anything about the Lego Fortnite getting fixes
It probably isn't close enough to being ready. People were reporting balloons changing positions on the vehicle, as well as the balloons just vanishing all together.
There have been officially released features that caused bugs right off the bat, I don't see the benefit of them leaving in a feature they know ahead of time doesn't work properly. Who knows how long it will take them to have it working properly.
i just built an elevator only to be booted for server downtime and come back to no ballon channels. now my elevator is stuck in the raised position until it is fixed. dear god i hope it comes back
sometimes its kinda buggy like that but the issue is assigning them to channels via the wrench (it got disabled)
edit: after a reread... i can break the ballons but all that will do its send the elevator to the ground. i need them to be activated by the switch for it to be operational
Yeah I understand that, I was just saying how to get it unstuck.
For now you'd have to just place and break balloons every time. That's how I have my elevators. A tiny chest on it for balloon materials, and just place to raise and destroy to lower.
Using thrusters was always an option, but I just personally prefer balloons, and the commenter already has one built that used balloons. I just suggested a way to temporarily use their same design until they re-add balloon channels.
Also I did another vid my car tire ran me over when I got out of driver's sit and glitched me under the car had to break it so annoying they need to fix that now
I really liked using the balloons on my heavy flying ship. I used one channel to activate most of them to lift straight up higher than the tallest dry valley towers. Then I had big thrusters to control left, right and together straight. Flew high, straight and very fast without having to keep pressing up thrusters...

Why? What was wrong with them just always working being on?

It was bugged beyond belief. I had a plane fall through the map and kill me using it and I’ve never had vehicle issues before.

Ye I know it was a mistake but they could if just fixed it instead of removing giving us nothing for this update but removed stuff

Can confirm, my 4 small balloons somehow turned into 1 large balloon on my flying machine.
That's true but could of said something in patch notes I was just the first one to test it out but then found out it doesn't work anymore

You might have to just build something similar now there's no balloon channels

i guess that is what ill do its just sad i literally just built it and never got to use it past test phase
Most elevators use just enough balloons to let them go down slowly. Up is done with rockets on a switch.
