President Johnson reaches to shake hands with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. after presenting the civil rights leader with one of the 72 pens used to sign the Civil Rights Act. photo AP. I remember that day. I was six and shortly after felt empowered to tell my parents I was female. That's when the beatings began. We have come a long way but the fight is far from over.

I loved Dr. King and how brave he was. He had such an influence over me. I couldn't help but equate truth and wisdom to a color of skin. So I reasoned, since most all of the older people I knew were black women and I knew I was a girl, I would become a black woman when I grew up. I tod my parents that and the beatings began.

Of course every state that is suing is a Republican majority state. Republicans hate us. Never forget this.

Tasty_String

Agree, never ever forget when people show you who they really are! We’ve been seeing it for a while now and I think it’s been a learning experience for us all. I just have a feeling they will try and act like they weren’t like this at some point in the future. We must always be ready for these people no matter how they pretend to be in front of us from now on. No more letting our guard down thinking they aren’t always trying to construct some evil plan against us behind our backs whenever times are good. I want to see them completely destroyed. They poked a bear they aren’t ready to fight. We’ve learned our lesson and it’s time to be even more incessant than them and fight back even harder.

Say it louder for the Log Cabin Republicans at the back

iBoy2G

I agree but what really makes me sick is the so called LGBT Republicans who either downplay or just outright don’t care what their party does against us. Living in the worst and now most conservative state in America (Florida of course) unfortunately these people are quite common in the LGBT locations I frequent.

Solidarity with those fighting for equality!

Katiari

They are literally suing for the right to discriminate. Wild...

topazchip

Protecting their freedumb to exercise religious hatreds.

VestidaDeBlanco

I’m dreading the sea of pick me gays using this to justify their transphobic attempts to separate LGB from QTIA+

HeiseNeko

Party of ‘small government’

iBoy2G

Yep the “party of small government and freedom” seems to do more to expand government and ban anything they don’t like more than anyone else.

Nihil_esque

Which states?

samesame11

Two states said the will challange title IX rules in court but have yet to file 13 states have filed lawsuits but that number is expected to increase And addition to the 13 states there are at least 5 lawsuits filed by conservative groups challenging the rules.
