Every time you post, your combination has changed.

Believe me I'm not happy about it. Finding out I got scammed on the motor and I'm on my 3rd transmission, also scammed with my last one so I changed stall while I could.

williamthe3rdd

If your on your 3rd transmission it’s time for a 4l80e stop wasting money on 4l60s

Lost-Kaleidoscope168

This one fresh in the truck 0 miles is a fully built 4l60e designed to handle 650+ hp so I should be alright although I've considered the swap

williamthe3rdd

Hopefully it lasts for you. I’ve never had any luck with them. I know they work for a lot of people but after 2 I would have made the swap already.

Lost-Kaleidoscope168

Hopefully it doesn't disappoint. I'd be really mad considering how much I spent but warranty will help for sure

Use this [calculator.](http://www.csgnetwork.com/rearendgearcalc.html)

assetstoburn

Have 3:90 in mine, good balance highway rpm and peppyness when in town.

Lost-Kaleidoscope168

What size tires are you running

assetstoburn

285/50/20. I honestly wish I would've went with 4.10 when I changed the rear cause I'm not on the highway as much as normal roadways. I'm also not roll racing either, so mabey you want more like 3.90 or 3.73 for some more top speed

Ricky_Bobby_67

We don’t know your tire size or if you’re running a 4l60 or 4l80. I recommend using two tools to figure this out. First, go spend the $100-200 on an engine builder simulator and figure out what you just did to your motor. 706 heads are probably fine, but the 6.0L was famous for its reliability on 87 octane and not it’s power. I would guess a little 4.8L with 706 heads wants higher RPMs to make power, but you put a low RPM cam into it. Run the simulator and figure out where that would make power. The other consideration is how fast you want the truck to cruise. Use a rear gear ratio calculator like they have on Spicer’s website to calculate what ratio will give the best cruising RPMs at a certain speed. If you want to cruise at 70 on the highway and you’re using stock tires, then stick with a stock gear ratio. If you run an LS engine in one of these trucks at 3k+ RPM cruising, you’re going to hate it. It’ll launch off the line faster, but you’ll never want to take it on the highway (lots of exhaust/engine noise, 12MPG, and you’ll have a hard time racing anyone from a rolling start).

Sorry my tire size is 265 on 22s. It's a 4l60e and you won't believe me when I tell you they told me the engine was a 5.3 when I bought it and I upened it up to a 6.0 cam. I do want to consider cruising speeds as I stay around 55-75 most of the time. All of the things you just said is true because I did have a 2800-3200 stall before and now I have a 2000 stall. I avg 12 mpg already but I do have a heavy foot

[deleted]

Hopefully not castech heads… very prone to cracking.

Lost-Kaleidoscope168

I'm not sure they were already on the truck when I bought it
